A buon diritto...
Complimenti davvero
This is the top place you’re looking for. We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to make a reservation at this restaurant. It is small and homelike, with impeccable service and great attention to detail. Apart from the standard menu, you are also shown recommendations for that particular day. As a starter, we decided on artichoke with crab salad, which was breathtaking. For the main course, we chose paccheri with crab, as well as paccheri with local white fish, which was recommended to us. Both dishes were phenomenal. From the dessert menu, we picked zabaglione; however, there was no fruit included. The amazing service staff told us it was no problem to modify the dessert especially for us, and they added exactly the fruits we asked for. It was amazing. Before the dessert, we also received small, candy-like ice creams, which were also excellent. The wines they recommended to us were a top choice as well. Another big plus was the amazing Bellini, in which you could taste the excellent quality of the Prosecco and peach. Overall, throughout the whole dinner, we were extremely well taken care of. We felt that the entire staff was really proud of the food they served, which was fully justified since the food was excellent. We must also stress that this restaurant is truly elegant; however, when compared to places like Harry’s Bar, it is phenomenal on every single level and well worth its price, rather than just paying for the name. If you’re a connoisseur of great food and top quality, and you want to feel both elegant and comfortable, this is the place for you. We highly recommend it and will definitely come back next time.
What a gem in Venice. The best restaurant to experience, explore and enjoy the flavors of Venice. The service was impeccable, some of the best I have had. It's my must place to dine and I am in the resort business. I still relish eating the soft shell crabs. Fantastico!
I have been to Da IVO several times in the last 15 years most recently this summer 2025. Rashid and his staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. The food is outstanding they will not rush you out. Ristorante Da IVO is located in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! It’s so cool to arrive in a gondola and enter the restaurant on the canal side. Rashid I look forward to seeing you and your staff soon. Thank you making our stay in Venice so special 🙏🇮🇹.
We've been coming to Da Ivo for years, and it never disappoints. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is truly exceptional. The staff go above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable, especially Rashid — he’s always attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. It’s rare to find such consistent quality and hospitality over the years, but Da Ivo continues to deliver every single time. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.
DA IVO! AMAZING PLACE BEEN GOING FOR OVER 20 years ! RASHID the waiter! True professional outstanding it does NOT get any better. he is a fixture there and he makes every visit extra extra special The owner GIOVANI IS WONDERFUL AND REALLY CARES ABOUT THE RESTAURANT. Head Chef Luciano And his team in the kitchen make tremendous food!! The ambience is like the famous RAOS IN HARLEM, NEW YORK. I THINK I’VE BEEN THERE OVER 100 TIMES ( No exaggeration as my mother is from Venice) AND I’VE NEVER EVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED BY EITHER THE STAFF or the FOOD . FIRST CLASS A MUST VISIT FOR LUNCH OR DINNER IN VENICE!
I’ve been to Venice 3 times. Every time I find myself in Italy, I go out of my way to visit Da Ivo. The food is immaculate, the atmosphere is second to none, but the service really is the reason come back time and time again. I’ve been helped by Rashid the last two visits and he sets the bar very high for what I expect from a dining experience in Venice. His knowledge of the menu is VAST. He makes recommendations that seem to fit everyone’s palate. He even manages to infuse humor within his professionalism that allows for everyone at the table to feel like they’re at home. I’ll continue to find my way back to Da Ivo as long as they’ll have me!! Love this place!
I am so grateful I was able to reserve a table at this gem! There is a reason so many return over and over. We were greeted with open arms when we arrived early for our reservation. What an extensive, beautiful wine list! We chose an incredible Gaja Barbaresco. The “welcome bruschetta” was stunning. The tiny peaches in truffle oil!!! Oh my Goodness! The specials of the day were plentiful and made it difficult to narrow down choices. We started with wonderful fresh raw oysters and octopus in tomato sauce. The whole sea bream and cuttle fish were perfectly prepared with gentle seasonings, not overpowering the freshness of the seafood. The atmosphere, so intimate! The staff, impeccable! Thank you Sebastiano for taking such good care of us! I even asked that he sign a book for me…not only did he sign it, but the entire restaurant staff signed as well! If I return to Venice, I will book my reservation here as soon as I book my flight! Again, many thanks!
This restaurant has outstanding food but is a little on the expensive side. The service is pretty good but is made up for by the great vibe and food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food. If you do end up here, I would definitely recommend the fried cuttlefish and lobster pasta.
This is a true old school Italian restaurant. The ambience is wonderful. Service really impeccable. The selection of dish is great with a nice list of dish of the day. Portions are vere reasonable and the quality of the food is amazing. The walls are decorated with photos off all the many celebrities that dined here. A true gem and a must check when visiting Venice. Make reservations way in advance because at dinner gets sold out quickly.
This spot in Venice is everything you want in an authentic Italian dining experience. It’s cozy, tucked away, and full of charm. The food is incredible—think fresh pasta, perfectly cooked seafood, and rich, flavorful sauces. The service is warm and makes you feel like part of the family. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just enjoying a meal in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, this place hits all the right notes. A true Venetian gem.
Whoever said the pasta w/ clams wasn’t good needs help. Hands down the best I’ve had. Food was outstanding. Also had the king crab and artichoke salad. It’s a small, cozy restaurant where the tables are a little on each other and the only dinner was 930. Get past it and enjoy it - absolutely worth it.
Ristorante Da Ivo deserves a standing ovation when it comes to their delectable food. My favorite was the egg noodle with truffles. And the mussels were fantastic too. It’s no wonder that George Clooney had his rehearsal dinner here. The place is tiny, full of character and charm.
Very cozy and lovely restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the spider crab (€30) and the pasta with white truffles (€70). Both were tasty. There are a wide variety of options available. The menu has multi languages. Today’s specialties are on the blackboard and in Italian only, but the waiters would patiently explain item by item in English. I’m pleased that I took my friend’s advice to visit here. The restaurant closes by 2:30pm for lunch and reopens at 7pm. But booking for dinner is only available for 9:30pm onwards. Lunch time does work for me better.
It had been 10 years since my previous experience at da Ivo and I wasn’t expecting to be able to get in since we were only in Venice for two nights. After our gondola ride, we popped in on the off chance we could get squeezed in, and were warmly embraced as if we were old friends. My husband and I like to taste as many things as possible, so we ordered a variety of dishes off the specialty menu for sharing. Everything was plated beautifully in our separate portions and as a food, wine, and travel writer, admit it was one of the best meals so far in my life. The dishes are simple, pure, elegant in that authentic way of just divine culinary skill. And if one sits for a moment taking in the atmosphere and the residual energy from all the creative greatness that has enjoyed a meal in this establishment, only then can you begin to understand what da Ivo is.

Ambiente piccolo e rumoroso, arredamento kitsch e pacchiano. Cibo deludente tranne il cestino del pane. Ristorante per americani. Sconsigliato alla clientela italiana.
Esperienza purtroppo molto negativa.
Let’s get one thing straight. Da Ivo is not fine dining. It’s a mediocre, overpriced tourist trap pretending to be something it’s not. The food? Passable at best. You’ll find better flavor, authenticity, and value at a random corner trattoria for half the price. What truly ruined the experience was the bald waiter with the beard and his attitude at the end of the meal. When the bill came, I didn’t leave a tip on the card (I usually tip in cash). The moment he thought he was getting no tip, his entire demeanor changed. (Mind you, this is Europe, where tipping is not a thing.) He started mumbling under his breath, telling the other waiters in Italian, as if he thought I couldn't understand him. He brought back the printed receipt, and tossed it on the table before walking away like a sulking child. The rest of the staff seemed fine, but one waiter’s attitude ruined the entire evening. Then, when I go to put the receipt and the card that it comes in away, he came storming back with a sour attitude to ask for the card back, like a baby who didn't get his way, as if we did something wrong. For a place that acts like it’s one of Venice’s finest, this was a total embarrassment. It’s a disgrace, all show, no soul. Da Ivo is a joke to Italian hospitality and dining. An absolute disappointment to Venice’s proud dining scene. I’ll be sure to let my Ferrari club and well-traveled friends know to steer clear. There are far better places in Venice that actually respect their guests and deliver food worthy of the price.
