We came in on a Saturday night with no reservation when they opened, and they managed to find a table for us. The rest of the place filled up very quickly, so I recommend to book before hand! We had the carpaccio which was delicious, as well as the grilled squid and the spaghetti al vongole. All very nicely prepared and tasty. The wine was great too. Small hidden gem, feels very local. Highly recommend!

Hidden gem on a busy tiny road that no one seems to notice. Not true! We loved the fish Carpaccio. Absolutely divine. Must have. Many other tradition dishes favoured by the Venetians. Very glad they had a table for us. Must reserve and visit when visiting Venice.

Fantastic dinner- we had the grilled turbot, cuttlefish & polenta, sea bass carpaccio, spidercrab pasta and a local white wine. The service was great, you get to watch the carpaccio being prepared in front of you. Definitely recommend getting the carpaccio and some freshly grilled fish!

Best restaurant we found in our 3 day trip to Venice. House wine was 30% less than elsewhere. Food was delicious. We had the cuttlefish risotto which was very tasty. Tiramisu was excellent. Note there is a large outside seating area. Head waiter was a real professional.

Definitely 5 stars for me! Those who given below 3 stars - i guess your standard of food and services is not from this world The Level of hospitality and service from Stefano is EXCELLENT - from the moment you enter til the moment you leave. He basically have this intimate interaction with all of his patrons and also personally debone every single sea bass that is ordered from every table!!! Tried both uncooked and grilled sea bass... delizioso!!! Highly Recommended!

This restaurant was one of the greatest surprises of our trip to Venice. Service was great and the food was fantastic. Main highlight was the Branzino carpaccio that is prepared at the table from scratch - they will literally slice the fish in front of you! It was amazing to watch and even better to taste it. It's a small restaurant in a small Venetian alley. The environment is great and filled with posters and flags from the traditional annual Venice Regatta. Chef's recommendations were also very good but the carpaccio was the best!

This place was amazing! My wife and I were wondering around and stumbled upon this restaurant. Even though we didn't have a reservation, Stefano was very inviting and sat us down immediately. He recommended the shrimp salad, stuffed spider crab salad, the most delicious soft shell crab appetizer ever, and we split the clam spaghetti and filleted sea bass. Everything was incredible! The atmosphere was lively and the wait staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly. If you are ever in Venice, you have to try Osteria Ai Do Farai!

Amazing food! Everything is fresh. Love the grilled fish and spider crab. A must if you visit Venice. Ask for help if you don't know what to order. Go early before 8 or after 9 to get a table outside. Very friendly service. Will definitely come back again.

Buona osteria veneziana, il piatto forte sia per scenografia che per bontà è il carpaccio di branzino preparato al tavolo. Il resto del menu è ottimo per chi vuole gustare i piatti della tradizione ben fatti. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è buono per lo standard di Venezia. Consigliato!!

Consigliato! Cena a lume di candela all'esterno... location romantica e intima. Assolutamente da provare il carpaccio di branzino che Stefano sfiletta e condisce al momento davanti ai tuoi occhi! Eccezionale! Carpaccio di polipo e tonno buoni così come l'insalatina di gamberi e funghi freschi. Un po' meno consigliato il gran antipasto ai do farai... Di quest'ultimo era gustoso solo il merluzzo con la polenta e le cipolle Tiramisù eccezionale!

Luogo molto accogliente in una calle bellissima di Venezia, locale molto caratteristico con personale estremamente gentile e simpatico. Servizio eccellente, ottima scelta di vini, pesce sempre fresco e servito in modo eccezionale, basta scelta di dessert. Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti di questo posto, soprattutto quando ci è arrivato il conto che era onestissimo. Se dovessi tornare da quelle parti ci ritornerei sicuramente.

Io e il mio compagno abbiamo cenato nella piazzetta esterna a lume di candela atmosfera molto intima l'ambiente a primo impatto risulta un Po troppo sempliciotto secondo me si può un attimo ritoccare ma il cibo è davvero molto buono. Pesce freschissimo e molto saporito ,servito con semplicit, ma non ha nulla da invidiare a certi ristoranti stellati. Seguendo il consiglio del sig. Stefano di va sul sicuro. Sicuramente torneremo.

We took the risotto al nero di seppie. It was absolutely wonderful, so tasty, not chewy at all, really good. But the waiter was a bit cold, and the restaurant is only a big room, and as Italians are really loud, it can be a bit overwhelming. I think the place could be perfect with a tiny more likable service and less noise!

A nice, calm and typical, authentic place. Good seafood: we ate mix of starters and had sepia and seafood spaghetti. Both were great: the fish and seafood nicely prepared, pasta al dente. The staff was professional and attentive, also friendly and pleasant. I didn’t put the 5 starts just because it’s a restaurant and at this level there are places where I had better meals and experiences.

Recommended by an Italian friend living in London. This place ticked many boxes for both myself and my wife. Food was great, the wine and beer list was plenty, and there service was amazing. We will definitely be visiting again before flying back to London.

Hidden gem! With the Chef preparing himself a fresh fish carpaccio where sushi chefs may would be getting jealous. Price Value I found the best at this place.

Posto carino e personale gentile e accogliente. La sera in cui abbiamo cenato il cibo era poco invitante. Soprattutto i bigoli in salsa non gli sono venuti troppo bene( per essere gentili!)

Luogo arredato in modo classico e personale gentile, ma per quello che ho mangiato non lo consiglierei. Mangi quello che paghi ed il prezzo non è alto, ma gli spaghetti alle vongole sguazzavano nell'olio ed erano salatissimi, oltre ad avere un sapore strano. Un'esperienza spiacevole che non vorrei aver avuto nel mio ultimo giorno in questa magnifica città, peccato inoltre per la cortesia delle persone che vi lavorano.

Locale accogliente, così come il personale. Peccato non possa dirsi lo stesso del titolare, che ci ha completamente ignorato per accogliere un cliente suo amico. Bigoli niente male, ma spaghetti allo scoglio probabilmente surgelati. Davvero pessimi. Il tiramisù pare una torta confezionata, evitatelo. Prezzi nella media. Non ci ha convinto.

I don't recommend it. Avoid it at all costs! 1. The food is average. 2. The service is average. 3. Coperto = €2.50. It's a dry roll from the supermarket. No olive oil. No balsamic vinegar. No salt. No pepper. 4. Attempted fraud. Instead of a €16 dish, the bill showed a €25 dish. A mistake, sorry, the waiter said. 😂. L'Hostaria ai Do Farai non corrisponde a quanto dichiarato nelle recensioni precedenti. È stata una vera delusione! Probabilmente ha cambiato gestore.... Servizio e cibo pessimi, scadente la qualità e la quantità. Abbiamo preso scogliera ma di crostacei c'era ben poco e senza sapore e gli spaghetti sembravano conditi col burro! Hanno cercato di imbrogliare anche sul prezzo mettendo in conto quello che non era stato consumato! Salvo cambiare velocemente il conto quando è stato fatto notare senza scuse. La sconsiglio!

Huge intoxication after diner the 1st of November night at this restaurant. 4 out 5 family members got food poison after sharing the mix antipasti, ruining completely our trip to Venice… Even if the service and restaurant were good, the overall experience was terrible.
