Kassi Venice Beach is a beautiful rooftop experience, one to remember! The visual - views and decor is beautiful! Let's jump right into this review. Kassi Venice Beach is located on Pacific Avenue in Santa Monica on the roof of the Erwin Hotel. Walking distance to the famous Muscle Beach. The views from the rooftop overlook the basketball courts that has been scene in movies like White Men Can't Jump and American History X. Parking - plenty of paid lots or valet at the Erwin Hotel. Parking will cost you roughly $10-$20. There is also metered parking and free street parking, which is challenging to find. Read the signs. What did I have - Fried Zucchini Chips - $14 - whipped feta, lemon, & zàtar - light, crispy, and delicious! 10/10 Harissa Honey Chicken (this is a 5oz skewer) - $14 - yogurt, Honey, & lemon - seasoned well, tangy, served with a slice of lemon to squeeze over chicken, definitely adds a nice kick to the skewer 10/10 Hand Pulled Flat Bread - $5 - zàtar salt, olive oil, sea salt - 10/10 Tzatziki - $8 - Greek Yogurt, dill, garlic, & cucumber 8/10 Watermelon Cucumber Spritz - $11 - watermelon juice, lime cucumber, sparkling water - veey refreshing, not overly sweet 8.5/10 Orchard Adaptogens - $14 - aplos, lemon, peach, blueberry, lemon verbena - interesting combination of flavors. The aplos, not knowing what this was prior to ordering, welp, lesson learned. If you like adaptogens, this is your drink 6/10 For the area, views, & venue, I find pricing reasonable. Pros 1. Nice views. 2. Friendly staff. 3. Delicious food and good non-alcoholic drink selections. 4. Comfortable seating. Cons 1. On a hot day, sun beaming like today, eating with minimum coverage overhead was tough. The sun was beaming on me during my entire dining experience. Shot out to my server and the general manager who took great care of me today. I was shocked in a good way when the GM asked me how my meal was, very nice touch. I'll definitely be back with friends.

I had dinner here last night solo and my expectations were far exceeded! I ordered the crudités, whipped avocado dip, tuna crudo, chip, salmon skewer, and two cocktails (both sage by the bell). Everything I had I genuinely would order again. To start, I expected the chip under the tuna Crudo to be a lot heavier but to my pleasant surprise, it was light and did not detract from the tuna atop. The crudite vegetables paired perfectly with the whipped avocado. The little herbs garnished on it too made it delicious ! I appreciated the little details to elevate the dish. The salmon skewer was moist (not overcooked like so many places prepare salmon). I would definitely order this again. The Sage by the bell cocktail was refreshing and not too sweet. I ordered it twice. The hostess and wait staff were all very kind. I wish I had gotten the name of the girl who was my server. She went above and beyond to make sure I felt tended to. Her hospitality was warm and greatly appreciated. I wasn’t sure if this spot was just some new touristy rooftop because of the location but my experience yesterday proved that the restaurant itself is very worthwhile !! The the rooftop is much bigger than I expected, and has sweeping views of the entire coast. I’ll definitely be back.

Really cool Roof Top Restaurant/Bar at Venic Beach. It has a number of great seating areas which are comfortable and provide stunning views of Venice Beach 😎. Service is good and the food was surprisingly good 🙂 Not sure of the price (I didn't pay😁) We visited on a Thursday lunchtime when it was quiet which was great 👍 Definitely a great place to visit

Amazing rooftop spot at Hotel Erwin! The view is unbeatable, you can see the ocean, the basketball courts, and the Venice Beach skatepark, which gives you that full Venice vibe. The atmosphere is fantastic with a live DJ, great energy, and the perfect mix of chill and fun. 🏀🛹🛼 The food and drinks were good. Definitely one of the best places to catch the sunset and enjoy the beach vibes from above. Can’t wait to come back! 🌅🍸🌴

Everything about this place was wonderful, we had such a great time. The view was absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere made it even better. The service was warm and attentive, and every dish we tried was delicious. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and recommend to anyone visiting the area.

One of the best rooftops in Venice Beach. Incredible ambiance, great food, and a fun but elevated vibe. Sunset here is next level, and the service always makes you feel taken care of. A go-to spot every time.

We had a great meal at Kassi. Everything is small plates. Loved the skewers and the whipped avocado a d the fri d zucchini strips. Santorini slushee was delicious (but very small) amazing service from Ayla. Views of course are incredible from the rooftop deck.

J
Joey Photo

Great vibes in one place! Great food and view! The service is good, I do recommend to book in advance. I don’t like that they charge a deposit for that but it is what it is. Night time is amazing or sunset.

S
Shanelle S

Absolutely GORGEOUS view and rooftop. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our dinner here, particularly since we were able to see the sunset! We tried the orchard adaptogen cocktails, calamari, taramasalata (smoked fish dip with an order of bread (bread doesn’t come with it) and a beef skewer. The cocktail was fresh, the calamari gave bang for our buck, and my boyfriend devoured the taramasalata. The bread was like a thin naan and great for the spread. They were out of the salmon skewer, so the beef skewer was recommended to us by our waitress, and it was juicy and had a nice, light marinade on top. We found street parking and walked over but the hotel has valet parking. The team members who helped us were all super chill and friendly. The crowd was young, Westside professional (at least that’s what it was on a Tuesday evening). I’d come back again for sunset views and stellar vibes.

Didn't have food, but celebrated my daughter's 21st birthday while staying at Hotel Erwin. Definitely a bit on the pricier side, especially coming from SW Florida. Drinks were not what I am used to - but maybe its a California thing.

B
Beatriz Schuster

Let me just clarify that our server and everyone else at Kassi were phenomenal! The only issue was the standing tower heater that kept shutting off. To the owner: invest in new heating towers. They look like they need to be replaced

S
Sheeva Shahinfar

Wow wow wow every single part of this place was a 10/10 - great new renovation of this place and FYI it’s Elephante’s sister restaurant! Flatbread is to die for!! Insane spices. #1 dip by far is the whipped avocado. I love that they have the olive oil + lemon juices at the bottom of the Greek salad to just slurp up. Zucchini chips although fried tasted actually healthy, almost as if air fried. We also got hot honey harissa chicken and tzatziki, both great but not the stand out stars of the show. Service was amazing! And the views of course incredible.

Amazing rooftop spot in Venice Beach! Beautiful views, delicious cocktails, tasty food, and super fun and friendly staff, shout out to Cole our waiter for the best recommendations! Perfect for sunset drinks or a night out. Highly recommend!

Best and only rooftop in Venice. Such a vibe! Service was great and food was on point. They recently went through a rebrand and it works. Highly recommend!

I
Inigo Salazar

Spectacular upgrade! I decided to check it out after hearing they switched operators—was expecting the same look and vibe, but was pleasantly surprised. The place got a much-needed facelift, a completely updated menu, and a proper bar setup with mixology-style cocktails. The crowd also felt different—more relaxed, social, and clearly enjoying the makeover. Prices are noticeably more reasonable too, which kept me and my group hanging out longer and ordering more drinks. Great job, Kassi!

Fun rooftop quality restaurant. Great food and nice staff. I'm coming back. The beef skewer was very filling and tasty.

Loved this spot! George, the owner, was super welcoming and made us feel right at home. Great drinks, chill vibe, and the view is unbeatable. Definitely coming back! Yia mas!

Didn’t expect it to be this good but it was so GREAT!!!! The food was awesome!!! (the best calamari I’ve ever had seriously) The service was on point. Our server always come and check on us regularly and makes us feel so welcomed. Love this place and definitely going back there again.

You can not beat this view, the staff is so nice and the food blew me away. Came with girlfriends all dressed up and this place was a perfect sip and chill spot. Don’t hesitate this place is awesome!

Amazing!! We tried half the menu and every single item was delicious. So much flavour. The meat (chicken and beef) were cooked to perfection. So juicy and tender. The dips (tzatziki & hummus) were decadent. Dessert was fabulous. The atmosphere was very chill, relaxed, cozy vibe. Great views. Private seating. Our server (Jasmine) - very polite, friendly, and had a nice energy.

C

Such an amazing space, hands down best view in Venice! The food and drinks are also amazing, my favorites are the beef tenderloin and the velvet seafoam drink. I’m gluten free and was able to enjoy quite a few of the food items. I appreciate their team for guiding me through the menu! Can’t wait to go back :)

B
Ben Yeates

We had a warm welcome and then a nice selection of small plates and drinks with an amazing view of the Venice sunset. Couldn’t recommend this more highly.

K
Kara Sliwinski

Kassi Club is an absolute vibeeeee!!! From the moment you walk in, you’re transported straight into vacation mode. The energy is so fun and laid-back, but still feels elevated. The drinks were seriously incredible (highly recommend), and the food was just as impressive. And don’t even get me started on the view… a stunning 180° ocean view. In my opinion, best ocean rooftop view in LA. Can’t wait to come back!

C
Caroline Levich

Five stars! I’m so happy this rooftop gem has opened—it feels like a much-needed return from the team behind Kassi Club (RIP, I still dream about that food). The dips were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. I also loved that they had nonalcoholic beer and a thoughtful mocktail list—such a win for sober diners like me. The saganaki was a standout—golden, gooey, and full of flavor. The whole vibe felt elevated but laid-back, and the menu brings back some of the fan favorites I missed. Can’t wait to come back!

S
Sam Pagnucco

You can't beat these views and it's a perfect spot for cocktails and apps. The real star was our server Hannah who took care of us all evening and went above and beyond. Can't wait to come back on my next Venice visit.

LOVE this new rooftop at Hotel Erwin. The food is amazing - great shareable dishes and the cocktails were fantastic. I really loved the Oracle of Adelphi drink. They did such an amazing job with this place!

Outstanding views over all of LA’s Westside spectacular Greek Cuisine, gentle live DJ vibes. Very decent & delicious overall experience. Windy & cold in the shade. But prepare for it and you’ll be fantastic! it’s probably THE rooftop on the Westside.

The best food, atmosphere, and service I've experienced in all of los angeles george the manager very friendly and attentive our server Cole was the best. friendly professional and curtious the food is amazing you need to check it out when in venice you can't go wrong

S

The food was amazing! The whipped avocado was OUT OF THIS WORLD. So good I ordered it twice. The lamb meatballs were scrumptious and juicy. The Ora king salmon was also very flavorful. Overall had a wonderful dining experience, our server was very courteous and pleasant. The view was beautiful too. So glad they squeezed us in!

J
Jennifer Pierce

Kassi Rooftop at the Erwin Hotel is such a vibe! We had the fried zucchini chips, hand-pulled flatbread, and the harissa honey chicken—which was sooo tender! Delicious food, great drinks, and an incredible view of the ocean and Venice Beach. They even have blankets if it gets chilly, making it perfect for a cozy night out. Definitely a must-visit rooftop in Venice!

T
Traci Lyn

An unexpected gem would be Kassi Rooftop in Venice beach. Absolutely wonderful and understanding staff and the drinks were amazing. I forget my waiter’s name but he was absolutely stellar! Oddly enough I expected a posh snobbish environment but absolutely the opposite. Even the hostess was wonderful. To be honest I thought the food was mid but between the view and the good vibes it didn’t matter. Thanks again!

We celebrated our anniversary at Kassi in Venice, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. A special thank you to Jasmine, our wonderful server. She made our celebration truly unforgettable with her warm personality, attentiveness, and genuine care. She went above and beyond to make the evening special for us. If you’re looking for a place with fantastic food, great atmosphere, and exceptional service, Kassi is the spot. We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing panoramic views of the ocean and Venice pier. Our server was super friendly and nice. The food is top notch but it's mainly an appetizer and drinks place.

Fantastic 360 views of Los Angeles coast, mountains, and urban areas. Greek style food was very tasty across the whole menu. Service was friendly and attentive for our group event. Drinks were creative, visual appealing, and tasty

Absolutely stunning view of Los Angeles! We were seated right away and greeted with genuinely friendly service. The cocktails were spot-on, and the menu is designed for sharing my personal favorite style of dining which worked perfectly for our group. My girlfriend was wearing a tank top and they were thoughtful enough to have blankets and heaters available, which made the whole experience even more comfortable. It turned into a fantastic evening. Honestly, this might be the best restaurant view in all of LA. Can’t wait to come back!

Very nice rooftop bar in Venice beach Los Angeles. This place has a very nice view of the beach and sunset

K

Make a reservation and go for the sunset views. Food is okay. Mocktails are great.

W
William Young

The food was good, the atmosphere and views were amazing, but the service was a bit of a downer. Went around 4pm-ish, so that might have made a difference. You had to go to the bar to order (drinks or food), and the line was slow-moving, with only one bartender having to 'do it all'. Unfortunately, it took a bit away from the experience. Other than that, it was fantastic. 👍🏽

B
Beatriz Ramirez

Lobster orzo and baby carrots were the highlights!

My friend and I came here on a Friday night. There was a DJ playing music, and people were lining up to get a drink at the bar, while others were sitting and dining. The place felt very much alive. We didn't order much, just a few appetizers. I really liked the Fried Zucchini Chips ($10, served with whipped feta, lemon, and za'tar - delicious!). They have blankets that you can cuddle with since it's getting cold at night. I recommend bringing a jacket. Also, if management is reading this review, please note that people in the food industry work hard. Please don't make your servers split their tips. We left a very generous tip using our credit card to our server, and I casually asked her if the tip money was going straight to her pocket (as it should), but she said they have to split it with everyone else, including the bartenders. Not fair! Please change that policy.

$18 for 3 prices of chicken. The service is amazing. The view is great. Drinks were really good. But would get the food.

T
Tracy McAnany

It’s fine. Nothing special other than the vibe & location—several stories above Venice Beach. Food was average, limited menu. Drinks were fine but wine is pretty limited. One if the best features was a reasonable volume level of music from the DJ. It’s a nice looking spot but too many fake plants and bougainvillea to really feel special. If you’re in Venice, sure— but I wouldn’t make a special trip for it.

M
Madhumitha Ramesh

Go here for the view. Overpriced cocktails and food did not hit the mark. Definitely will come back for the sunset view.

G
G. I.

Expensive parking, very average but crazy overpriced food, nice views, shady neighborhood and if you go when they’re busy, it will take forever for someone to come by and take an order. Stay away from the chicken and lamb skewers. They were really bad .

S
Sally Swinnen

The Bar staff were rude and unprofessional. Made you wait and all for an average drink and average food with a high price tag. Took away from what otherwise is a lovely vibe of the roof.

J
Jack Horton

Food is just eh. The space feels difficult to walkthrough because it’s on a rooftop and the center of the roof has a massive skylight they covered. Service wise was eh as well, they were understaffed on a Friday afternoon. Drinks were the worst part unfortunately, zero presentation for the price you pay, every single drink comes in the same little shitty 12 oz cup. Owner or manager for sure cheaped out on glassware obviously. My drink in the photo was $15 for that…

V
Vanessa Gaxiola-Henderson

Went there to try something different food wise and because it looked really nice. When getting there the service was AMAZING! After being sited and ordering we didn't receive any service after that. Our food was delivered by a back staff it was super GREASY and not tasteful at all. Our servicer passed by we waved him down asked for boxes and instead of bring them to us had a conversation with the other server who was supposed to be serving us with his hands crossed and just laughing not caring that we wanted to leave. We waited maybe 7 mins and decided that the food wasn't worth the wait and that we just wanted to pay. We walked to the front where we asked to pay staff said we need our server told them we had been waiting and couldn't get a hold of either one of them(had 2 servers). One who we never even spoke to came up and had us pay which thats how we knew we had to servers. IT was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OVER ALL. I will say that it the place is beautiful but NOT WORTH IT!

J
Jose Jose

I really liked Kassi in Vegas and also enjoy Élephante, so I was excited to try this new location from the same company. Unfortunately, the bread was too greasy and smelled like it was cooked on a dirty pan or grill. The chicken had the same unpleasant smell, and both the chicken and beef tasted like they had been cooked ahead of time and just reheated before serving. When I tried to explain this to the server, she didn’t care and just kept telling me why I was wrong. Unfortunately, it feels like an unwritten law in California: if you have a restaurant with a beautiful view, you can completely ignore the quality of the food. That’s why Élephante has always stood out for me—it’s one of those rare places where you actually get amazing food, along with an incredible view and vibe. I was really hoping Kassi would be the same. But the magic didn’t happen. On top of that, I’ve been to many of the group’s restaurants, including in New York, and I keep noticing the same pattern: the staff simply don’t care about the customers. It’s not the first time I’ve felt there’s zero sense of attentiveness, support, or understanding. The company knows it holds some of the top locations in Los Angeles, so any negative review is outweighed by a thousand other people lining up to come. And that comfort seems to give them the freedom to completely ignore customer feedback and care very little about improving the service experience.

David Kagel

I don't understand Kassi's food and drink policy and neither to their employees. We arrived Saturday night at 5pm and waited in line to go up the roof top bar like everyone else (it is gorgeous up there by the way). Our intention was to have drinks and appetizers and then move on to our dinner reservation location. At the top upon exiting the elevator, the hostess told us we can grab a drink at the bar. But they don’t really define where the bar starts and stops. It’s a lovely long area of tables and a long high top bar on either side of plastic flowers in the middle. So we went down to the end of the bar by the end of the building and got a nice sofa banquet and tried to order drinks but could never flag down a server. So I walked back to the bar and ordered drinks and took them back to our banquet. We sat there for 30 minutes and then decided to order our aps. I flagged down a waitress since we had been ignored for 30 minutes and she told us we couldn’t order any food unless we had a dinner reservation. I wish that had told us that upon arrival. And then she told us to clear out of the banquet since they had dinner reservations flooding in at 5:30 and 6pm. So now we knew those evolving rules and stood along the long bar and I went back to the bar tender and and tried to order aps from her and she told me flag down a server. I told her that was against the rules and then she said she had no idea what the rules were. In the meantime there was a much older man all hooked up with his earpiece and very authoritative and he kept pushing us down the long bar saying where we were standing was closing for a private party. Again we didn’t really understand the rules and just wanted to order food but that wasn’t allowed and the angry/mean older man just kept giving us the evil eye and seemed like the only guy who knew what he was doing but was just like an Angry Dad. And by the way, over one hour and half no one ever sat at the banquet we were at and no one allowed us to ever order food and the whole experience seemed surreal. So I cant rate the food because they basically refused us service and the entire scene by the time we left at 6:50 totally famished as the bar top turned into some type of a wild Rave for 22 year olds in short dresses and blaring music was beyond comprehension. I know this spot is part of a huge corporation that owns Elephante called Wish you Were Here but clearly they didn’t want our party of 4 there.

P
Paula Díaz

The place got renovated and looks amazing. However, the food I would say is even worse than before. The spot is perfect for drinks and sunset views, but nothing more than that. I think this is the only place I’ve ordered hummus and avocado and doesn’t come with chips or something for dipping… seriously shocked about it. The staff was nice despite the orders took longer than expected (the menu is really limited). Go for some cocktails and that’s it, have dinner in another place

K
Kira Wikajovich

I really wanted to love this place and was super keen to try it but unfortunately it didn't live up to the expectation. If you're going for cocktails, sun and a vibe, this is the place. The view from the rooftop is probably the best commercial one around. It's a 360 view, with a front view of Venice Beach. The noise level at that height is minimal so it's great for that. Its a sister association to Elephante and Belles so the expectation for good food is a given but it fails at every checkbox. The food isn't well presented, doesn't taste great and it's not quite the Greek dream you're hoping for. Although the staff are really friendly, it pains me to say that we waited for 45min just to get someone to take our order. We had to search for a server to get water (after our orders were taken and water was requested but didn't come). The poor server was attending to so many tables, he forgot about us. Advice: go for drinks with friends but don't go hungry.

B
Brad

I really wanted to enjoy the experience, but unfortunately, the food and service didn’t meet expectations. Most of the dishes arrived cold, the skewers were dry, and the chicken was so overcooked it was difficult to chew. We were given only one piece of pita for four dips, and no one followed up or brought more despite our request. It felt like the servers were overwhelmed and could benefit from more support and training. Overall, a disappointing visit.

M
Meron

nice atmosphere, bad service. i went solo and had to join a meeting last minute. before my meeting, i told my server my battery was low and asked if i could move somewhere i could charge my laptop. she said there wasn’t really any outlets that would be feasible for me to use upstairs, fair. she even asked me my percentage and i told her. order arrived, i took two sips of my wine and a bite or two of my food. i sat through the meeting and my battery wasn’t going to last so i went to the host stand and waited for the host to return to tell her that i needed a place to charge my computer but i’d be back. i went to the lobby and saw my server on her way out, who i asked to text her coworkers that i would be back as well (they tried to call me after a few minutes but as was clear to everyone involved, i was in a meeting and so was not able to answer. i did try to text the number that i was coming right back though). when i got back upstairs after ~20 minutes, my new server pushed the POS in my face for me to pay and i found out they had cleared my table. honestly, the confusion was disappointing (especially because my food/drink were barely touched) but i felt bad for leaving for a while as well (and tipped 25% despite the food being cleared to prove it) so just asked if they’d be able to replace my wine for the confusion. they said yes, led me back to my table and then did not come up to serve me until i went back to the host stand to ask if it was bar service only. she then said that she would call the server back over. he finally showed up and tried to give me a whole spiel about how the manager wouldn’t approve replacing my glass of wine because “i didn’t communicate” and how he really tried to fight to get me another glass which…didn’t feel honest. overall, a really poor way on their end to handle this whole thing and a waste of my money on top of the stressful work experience. pretty upsetting that they wouldn’t replace a cheap glass of wine. obviously i felt ripped off and unwelcome and left after talking to server #2.

A
Arminé Papouchian

Worst customer service. My husband and I had reservation at 5:30, we arrived around 5:15 and they sat us. We had 8 drinks, 6 food items and desert and around 7:00 our waitress told us that we needed to wrap it up because the next people with reservation were waiting. We asked for the bill and as soon as we paid for it, at 7:12 another very rude host came to tell us we need to leave within a couple of minutes. We had not finished are desert or last drink yet. Why would they not have the courtesy to give us at least 2 hours from the time we made the reservation? There were people there by us who had been there longer than us. They claim to be a “Greek” place. They would never ever do that in Greece. I will never come back here, tourist trap with rude staff and mediocre food. It ruined our evening.
