Eddie was amazing!! We came after an island packers day trip and were hungry! Between bread, the amazing clam chowder and our entrees, we didn’t have to wait longer than a few minutes between courses. Eddie was prompt, intentional and very obviously cares deeply about everything he does. He is such a credit to this establishment. We love Eddie!!!! Apart from the stellar service, our meals were *scrumptious* and filling and flavorful. If you’ve got time to stop by, I highly recommend Brophy Bros!!

This seafood restaurant was absolutely delicious! The clam chowder was creamy and flavorful, the fish and chips were perfectly crispy, and the beer paired really well with everything. I also ordered calamari — it was tender and cooked just right. The complimentary bread was also very tasty. Next time, I’d love to call ahead and reserve a table with a harbor view!

The only regret I had is not getting the clam chowder soup in a bowl…I only had a cup and it’s one of the best I ever had…savory and lot of clams…like a lot…the fish was cooked Perfect! And great customer service and of course, very nice view.

Great food and nice view. This was our first time here and enjoyed our experience. The food was well made and delicious. They have a full bar. The place was packed when we arrived so there was a 30 minute wait. While waiting we walked around the Marina. They give you some nice bread and butter. There are an assortment of appetizers to choose from , as well as some delicious entres. If in the area stop in. This location is in Ventura CA.

My wife and I went to Brophy Bros on a Friday night and we had an excellent experience. It’s a located in an area of the Ventura Harbor, which has a very relaxing ambiance. We didn’t know we could make reservations in advance or we would need one. Just so you know, they do take reservations over the phone or through yelp. We had about a 45 minute wait. We went downstairs to their sister restaurant to get some appetizers because we were hungry. Downstairs they offer items from Brophy Bros along with their own separate menu. The restaurant is upstairs were they have indoor, bar and outdoor patio seating. We sat outside on their heated patio, which the tables are spread out evenly. The menu has many different options. The clam chowder is very delicious and rich in flavor. We ordered the sea-bass and the salmon for entrees. Both were very fresh, well balanced and savory. The entrees are served with two sides either rice or fries and salad or soup. The service at Brophy Bros was great and all the staff are friendly & attentive. The atmosphere is lively on a Friday night. There were a few families celebrating birthdays and the staff sang for them, which was very nice. We will definitely be back to explore other items on the menu! Thank you Brophy Bros for a great Friday night dinner!

Not seen: oysters, clam chowder and their lobster special. Worth coming thru, when it’s busy, it’s busy. Staff knows the menu but it takes time to get seen and get your meal. But the food was very satisfying after a day of walking in the Channel Islands. Price was very competitive for what it could be as a tourist spot. And the calamari was delicious. I came hungry and left happy.

The sea bass plate was an interesting experience. I'd give it a 4.5 for execution. The blackened option was a bit unexpected for me. I'm more accustomed to the buttery richness of Chilean sea bass, so that might explain my slight hesitation. Still, it was flaky and well-prepared, just not quite my personal favorite. The fish sandwich? A definite winner. Packed with fish and bursting with flavor, it stood out as one of the best dishes on the table. Drinks and Portions: One thing that stood out was the generosity—both in the food portions and the drink sizes. It’s rare to find a place that doesn’t skimp, and this spot delivered on both fronts. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a chill spot with great food, festive vibes, and attentive service, this harbor-side gem is worth a visit. While it might not hit a perfect 5 across the board, the overall experience—flavorful dishes, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere—makes it a memorable dining destination.

Good place we order and ate downstairs at the “on the alley” wich this is a 2-1 restaurant so u can eat upstairs at the Brophys or down stairs at on the alley. Had the fish and chips delicious perfectly cooked with a lot of flavors. And the calamari was definitely a must get and eat. Place is pretty nice and well kept. A lot of great views and upstairs down stair option is nice. And stag was great and the service was fast and good. Definitely a place to go eat and get fish and chips from!! :)

So so good! Less than a five minute wait to be seated for lunch. ( we called ahead and put our name on the list)We had clam chowder, calamari, scallops, fish , clams, rice, fries,and bread . Service was awesome. You do however need to be able to walk up 25 steps to get to the restaurant. Such a great place though. Really cool view too.

This was my first time here. Admittedly, the food was pretty good. I honestly would like to have seen more seafood options like scallops and shrimp that didn't come in a pasta dish. The service was friendly and prompt, and the atmosphere was rather comfortable. The salmon was moist and flaky, so I can definitely suggest trying it. The prices were very reasonable and the view was spectacular.

After having the opportunity to eat there with crew and clients we can say that, at least our order of the Scampi ; Depicted; we will be coming back again to try other menu options. The portions were sizeable enough to take some home if you haven't decided to take a beach walk beforehand. The prices are fair assuming you know that you're getting quality grade seafood by the beach; with a stellar view of the harbor we may add.

We love enjoying the harbor views here. LONG wait times without a reservation are par here though. 90 minutes is not uncommon on the weekends. Food is good. Drinks are ok. Not a fan of their margaritas. Service is typically steady and reliable. Of course prices are a bit high for what you get but you're paying for views as much as anything so make a reservation or sit at the bar, order a red beer or glass of syrah with dinner and enjoy the sunset.

My wife and I visited Brophy Brothers in Ventura for dinner after spending the day before Easter at Serra Cross, and it was a fantastic experience. Last time we tried, the line was too long, so we were thrilled to use Yelp’s waitlist feature this time around. It worked perfectly, and we scored a patio table with a stunning view of Ventura Harbor. We started with the hot combo, featuring fresh shellfish like shrimp and baked oysters—absolutely delicious and it was so flavorful. The clams were impressively large, and the sauce was so good we couldn’t stop dipping our sourdough bread in it. My wife ordered a cup of clam chowder, which was creamy, packed with clams, and just divine. Her seafood pasta dish was another highlight, loaded with plump shrimp and tender, flavorful scallops. The meal was incredible, made even better by the breathtaking sunset view from our table. Our server was on point, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Parking was a breeze, too. Brophy’s delivered on every front—fresh seafood, great service, and an unforgettable atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

We’ve come here for the past 6 years. We haven’t been for a while so last night I ordered my favorite shrimp crab salad. It was just crab and shrimp mixed in a sauce (never was before) that made the salad wilted. Plus it always had a Louie sauce but now it was doused in a basil vinaigrette. It tasted nice but it was over dressed. I won’t ever order that again. Husband had fish n chips and that was fine but our friend had the chipino fish stew and he did not like it. Said it was all sauce and large chunks of veggies not very much fish. It used to be a good place to eat but I’ll pass going there again. Unless we want a drink and admire the views, those are worth it!
