Unfortunately the word “excellent” doesn’t bring justice for this amazing place that will not only satisfy your palate but will warm your heart. I started with the delicious grilled scallops that come with their delicious home-made sauces that give the best experience as the starter. I later ordered the Marinated Tuna in Ponzu Sauce that was just as perfect as it sounds. I also took a glass of wine that made the perfect company to my dinner. We can’t forget about dessert can we? I got the biscuit with Catalan cream that was the sweet note to end my evening. Cozy and very clean place. Special thanks to all the amazing and professional staff, but special thanks to Luca, he was great ;). Can’t wait to go back.
We had a fantastic lunch here during our trip to Porto Venere! We shared three dishes and were blown away by each one. They were beautifully presented, made with the freshest ingredients and were absolutely delicious!! The staff were incredibly attentive and we loved sitting outside to enjoy the sunshine and people watch while we enjoyed our meal.
Best meal we've had in Italy, and we've been to great places. Go for the 6-course fish menu. They're all exceptional. And Jacopo was the perfect host.
We stumbled here by chance but what a treat!! Incredible lunch. We had spaghetti with sea urchins, saffron and parsley powder — absolutely amazing. And homemade rigatoni cooked in prawn bisque with raw shrimp and taleggio — original and wonderful. Finished off with pesto gelato (okay) and goat blue cheese gelato with raspberry vinegar and honey cracker — divine. Highly recommended!!
We had a wonderful dinner at this refined seafood restaurant. The dishes were absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly made with high-quality, fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was elegant but welcoming — perfect for a special evening out. There was a small hiccup with the service at first, as one of the courses was delayed and slightly mixed up. However, the staff handled it with great professionalism: they quickly replaced the dishes and even offered a discount on the final bill as an apology. Their attitude made all the difference and turned the situation around. Highly recommended for seafood lovers looking for a refined yet warm dining experience!
We didn't have a reservation, but fortunately, the restaurant was able to arrange a table for us. Every dish was delicious, and I especially recommend the fried seafood, the oyster and white wine pairing, and the tiramisu. The lemon sorbet served with the oysters was perfect and impressed me a lot!
- We had Pesto pasta and Plin duck pasta for mains. The pasta was excellent and superb. You may find it a bit expensive, check the prices before. - The Tiramisu was heavenly, the best I've ever had. - Suggestion: Please add iced lattes or cold coffee to the menu. We wanted iced coffee in the scorching heat. We got an iced one but it had too much milk. We had to add espresso shots to make it stronger, which doubled the cost. It ended up costing 6 euros, which was quite expensive. - The staff was polite and helpful. - Overall, a great place to explore in Portovenere. The location is perfect.
Wow. We had an amazing meal. Dined with our local friend who has been many times who was proud to bring us to “his favorite” in Portovenere. We mostly had seafood apps and mains - all outstanding. Don’t skip desserts- again all outstanding but the pesto gelato needs to be experienced.
My husband and I were here on a date night and were blown away. It was definitely one of the highlights of our stay here in Porto Venere. We shared the shrimp rolls as an appetizer and I think it’s safe to say that those were some of the best bites of food we have ever had. My husband went for the shrimp spaghetti which were good but not mind blowing, while I got the lobster ravioli. They tasted and looked like little works of art. As a dessert I got the sponge cake and my husband got a plate of different chocolate mousses. Both were amazing and absolutely melted in your mouth. A big bonus was also the service, everyone we talked to was so kind and attentive. We were quite hungry in the beginning and had finished our bread basket pretty quickly and immediately got a refill! If someone is interested in fine dining but is intimidated by the thought of not knowing what to do this is the perfect place to go as an introduction. We’ll be back!
A local from a nearby souvenir store recommended this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. Every dish was delicious. I began with grilled scallops, followed by trofie al pesto and sea bass, and finished it off with the most amazing tiramisu. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I eat a lot of fish and tuna, catch my own and have learned the ways to bleed tuna properly, rest the meat and prepare seared tuna. I have never had a better prepared blue fin rare tuna in my life. It was soft like butter to cut through and the flavors of the crust were savory. The hazelnut cream and ponzu sauce balanced each other perfectly while creating such a spectacular highlight to the fish. My only regret was coming here on my last night in town otherwise I would have been there every night. The staff was welcoming and charming and we didn’t even have a reservation but they sat us outside immediately. My husband had the fish filet that was also impeccably prepared and gorgeous presentation. I definitely am leaving my heart in Portivene after such a awe inspiring meal. Oh and the French fries were - so simply good. They were shaved and curled and perfectly salted with a crunch in the outside and flavor on the inside. We didn’t have dessert because we were full from the day but had the local mussels that were beautifully fresh to start. I’ll have to come back to PortoVenere just to eat here again. ❤️
We were just passing by asking the waiter if there is a table for us, unfortunately they were all booked but the staff was incredibly nice and even made phone calls in order to give us a table. Very nice service, unbelivably considerate (they even brought a cute little hanger for my girlfriends purse and some local olive oil with bread). We ordered and maybe waited for 5min for the food to arrive. The portions weren't the biggest but so flavorful and elaborate in the composition of the food, I have never tasted anything similar before. The wine was also great. It is a bit pricey, but we knew that before and in relation to the quality of food and service, it was totally worth it. We can only reccomend this place and I would happily give 6 stars if it were possible. Thank you!
Excellent! It doesn't matter what do you order to eat. Everything will be delicious and surprising. The most important thing to do is just do a resevation. They will do the rest. Don' worry you sarifice view of the sea or mountains from your table. View of the table will be amazing.
The food is really good, but still overpriced. The tuna was very good. I recommend the Byron semolina gnocchi. But the portions are just way too small for the price. The atmosphere is pretty nice. And the waiter was very friendly. The menu is online and not the best experience. It would be better to have a real menu. In the reviews it seems like the owner responds to reviews that are under 4 stars pretty aggressively. I don't think thats ok. In Google Maps this place should be $$$ instead of $$.
First of all the service was good they were friendly and fast with service. But the food is expensive, small portions and didn’t taste special at all. My butter pasta with anchovis was just really salty and heavy on the stomach. The scallops were ok but tasted quite fishy as if they were old or frozen. They try to be innovative but I would just stick more to a traditional kind of food. Edit: hope this gives you valuable criticism, you could have asked me more kindly…
