A culinary experience that deserves the best! We were in Mantua for a weekend and chose to dine at this restaurant, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere is refined, elegant, and welcoming, perfect for a special evening. The service was impeccable. The staff is attentive, professional, and available to answer any questions, without ever being intrusive. They expertly guided us through our selection of dishes and wine. And the food... simply exceptional! We started with delicious appetizers, which paved the way for unforgettable main courses. The stew with polenta was so tender it melted in your mouth, a true traditional masterpiece. The rabbit with herbs was also exquisite, delicate, and perfectly flavorful, while the tagliata was perfectly cooked and of the highest quality. All this was accompanied by an excellent wine, expertly recommended, which enhanced the flavors of each course. "La Cucina di Mantova" isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to enjoy the authentic flavors of Mantua in a high-quality setting. We'll definitely be back.

A top-notch restaurant serving truly exquisite traditional Mantuan cuisine. Dishes are prepared with the freshest ingredients and meticulous attention to presentation. We enjoyed a truly fantastic agnolotti broth, fried ricotta-stuffed zucchini flowers, and the famous pumpkin tortelli with melted butter and sage. To finish, dessert: fiordilatte gelato with warm zabaglione and chocolate shavings—a wonderful journey of flavor. Impeccable service. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is truly intimate and welcoming; we dined on interesting and tasty dishes: cream of pumpkin soup, fish soup, cod with polenta, raw carpaccio, and fillet steak with roast potatoes. The quality/price ratio was excellent. The only (venial) flaw was the somewhat rushed service.

An old-school restaurant, simple and refined. Traditional dishes prepared with care and attention. Everything was excellent. We ordered: salami, polenta, cocvoli pasta and mustard as an appetizer, bigoli with pike, pumpkin tortelli, beef cheek stewed with vegetables, pork chops and potatoes, zabaglione with ice cream, and grape must sauce. Each thing was better than the next. Friendly and attentive service. I already want to go back.

Food is top noch and the prices are fair. It is worth taking any pasta dish or risotto. The quality of the wine is excellent try to take young white wine chardonnay. The stuff is very friendly. The place is walking distance from all major attractions. If you take primi ask for recommendations. Primi dishes are usually consisted of different kind of a meat like salami with prosciutto and parmigan cheese.

Dinner for four. The atmosphere was elegant, with thoughtful table settings and a great location. The food was up to par, starting with the excellent appetizers. The first courses lacked that extra kick that would have earned me a 5. The wine list was excellent, well-balanced, and of a good standard. Unfortunately, over 35 minutes passed between our order and our appetizer, which I thought was a bit long. The sbrisolona, ​​complimentary on the house, was brought to our table after we'd practically left the restaurant. I hope to find some improvements when we return. Excellent value. The desserts were excellent.

Family owned and run. The cooking is very good. Having said that I had one of the house specialities which was pasta with pumpkin. This was well made and cooked but the pumpkin filling was much too sweet for my taste. Don't go if you are in a hurry. I wanted to leave long before anyone came to take my money. Food for a relaxed well cooked meal with friends.

Putting this review just after primi piati and I am really emotional.. great pasta dish full of flavour and texture. Loved it. The wine list available is more that sufficient for untrained wine lovers. Great place ,great food and great ambience to have a solo or romantic lunch or dinner. Spot on .

Non dubito che qui si mangi più che bene, ma l'esperienza non conquista. Tutti svolgono il loro bel compitino senza andare oltre. Forse il distacco con cui sei accolto - la confidenza evidentemente riservata solo agli autoctoni - forse il cameriere che non ti racconta gli assaggi e che ignora la composizione delle mostarde; ecco, forse tutto questo è un deterrente alla perfezione. Stracotto d'asino eccellente, comunque.

Locale carino dove abbiamo mangiato bene. Abbiamo preso i salumi e i fiori di zucchina ripieni, molto buoni. Anche gli agnoli in brodo molto buoni e in giusta quantità. Avevamo chiesto anche la zucca al forno da portare come antipasto, ma è arrivata insieme ai primi piatti e non ce la siamo gustata, era buona ma calda sarebbe stata ancora meglio se gustata al momento giusto. La cameriera è stata gentile. Servizio un po’ lento ma forse perché era un giorno di festa. Tutto sommato abbiamo mangiato bene. *** Mi permetto di fare un avviso alle famiglie.. Non è un posto comodo per chi ha bambini piccoli perché nei bagni (dove si accede solo da una scala a chiocciola un po’ scomoda) non c’è il fasciatoio. E di seggioloni ce n’é solo 1 più un’altro di quelli che si attaccano al tavolo, ma il nostro tavolo rotondo non era stabile, quindi non abbiam potuto usufruirne. Per le famiglie basta poco per fare la differenza. Esistono tanti fasciatoio da fissare al muro e apribili quando necessario, o seggioloni economici.

I went to this restaurant with a group of friends. The service was a bit slow and the quality was average. In my opinion, the price wasn't in line with what I ate (it was a bit high). The desserts and the cover charge need to be reconsidered.

Terrible. The only reason I'm giving it a star is because we didn't have to pay the bill. There was hair in the food, and there was a whole discussion about it. The owner was watching a video at full volume at the table next to us. Then he sprayed perfume on us. It was an unpleasant experience. I'm still not feeling well after it.
