4 aprile 2025 - Pranzo per 6 adulti! Sotto prenotazione, siamo arrivati puntuali e ci hanno accolti con grande professionalità, facendoci accomodare senza alcuna attesa. Il locale è accogliente e fresco, con il fascino di una tradizionale trattoria arricchita da un tocco di modernità. Il menù offre un’ampia scelta di specialità ittiche locali, che raccontano la passione e l’autenticità del territorio. Per l’antipasto, ci siamo lasciati guidare dallo staff, che ci ha deliziato con un’ampia varietà di sapori: polpette di pesce spada al sugo, polpette di baccalà con cipolla in agrodolce, frittura mista, baccalà fritto, insalata di polpo e caponata con pesce spada. Tutto semplicemente delizioso, con sapori autentici e una presentazione curata. Abbiamo continuato con 5 piatti di spaghetti ai ricci, preparati con ricci freschissimi e una cottura della pasta perfetta, accompagnati da porzioni generose. L’altra scelta è stata una fettuccia con gambero e pesto di pistacchio, si è rivelata altrettanto eccezionale! Per accompagnare il tutto, abbiamo optato per il vino bianco della casa, fermo, un litro di pura qualità—a volte trovare un vino della casa così buono non è scontato. Abbiamo aggiunto due bottiglie d’acqua, completando così il nostro pasto. Il personale è stato impeccabile: cordiale, cortese e sempre disponibile. Abbiamo notato anche un’interessante selezione di dolci fatti in casa, che però, purtroppo, non abbiamo avuto modo di provare questa volta. Il conto è stato perfettamente adeguato alla qualità degli ingredienti e al servizio offerto. È sicuramente un posto da consigliare e dove tornerei volentieri, portando amici e parenti per condividere questa esperienza.
Cibo ottimo, con materie prime fresche e proposte di pesce di giornata. Ci sono anche piatti di terra. Consiglio il vino Catarrato della casa, l’impepata di cozze, l’insalata “messinese” e la cassatina calda di pasta frolla con ricotta e cioccolata. Bravissime le cameriere e brava la cucina. Appena entrati, siamo stati accolti con un calore che ormai è raro trovare. Lo staff è di una gentilezza unica, sempre sorridente e pronto a far sentire gli ospiti a proprio agio. Un plauso speciale al proprietario, che ci ha consigliato con grande entusiasmo i piatti migliori e ci ha aiutato a trovare la soluzione perfetta per assaggiare un po’ di tutto. E che dire del cibo? Semplicemente squisito! Sapori autentici, ingredienti freschi e piatti preparati con cura e passione. Ogni boccone è stato un piacere, e alla fine siamo usciti più che soddisfatti, già con la voglia di tornare. Insomma, se amate la buona cucina e l’atmosfera familiare, Al Sorriso è una tappa obbligata. Io di sicuro ci tornerò!

Esperienza culinaria sorprendente! Accoglienza e ambiente familiare. Servizio veloce e attento alle esigenze dei clienti. Cucina popolare veramente buona, con polpette di baccalà in agrodolce e baccalà fritto fatto molto bene. Sanno anche proporre piatti più raffinati che appaiono interessanti. Prezzi abbastanza onesti. Pure il dolce buonissimo, un parfait fatto da loro sublime! Ci ritornerò, anzi ci ritorneremo con amici.
Non fatevi ingannare dalla posizione vicino la stazione, non é una trappola per turisti. Cibo e servizio eccellente. Da provare assolutamente la pasta con pistacchio e pesce e la caponata (soprattutto quella di pesce spada). Rapporto qualità/prezzo top.

Una scoperta meravigliosa! La Trattoria Al Sorriso è il classico posto dove ti senti subito a casa: atmosfera semplice e accogliente, servizio rapido e sempre con il sorriso. Il titolare è davvero attento a ogni dettaglio e alle richieste dei clienti — una rarità oggi! I piatti sono genuini, abbondanti e preparati con ingredienti di qualità eccellente. Si sente la passione per la cucina tradizionale in ogni boccone. Il tutto a un prezzo più che onesto: rapporto qualità/prezzo semplicemente imbattibile. Consigliatissimo a chi cerca autenticità, gusto e un’accoglienza sincera. Tornerò sicuramente!

Posto semplice pulito e accogliente, quello che ci si aspetta da una trattoria. Ragazzi giovani cortesi e pronti a soddisfare le richieste dei clienti con gentilezza e con il sorriso. Materie prime di qualità preparate con gusto e semplicità esaltandone il sapore. Condimenti sapientemente regolati senza eccessi. Ho scelto il pesce spada Sicilia, insalata siciliana e patate al forno. Le immagini parlano da sole. Consiglio di venire a provare, a due passi dalla stazione.
Orgasmic lunch at @trattoria_alsorriso Estasi a tavola: a Palermo ho assaggiato il mare nella sua forma più pura, un’esplosione di sapori che ha trasformato un pranzo in un orgasmo culinario indimenticabile. Il mare non si guarda soltanto: si mangia, si respira, si vive, e in quel piatto di pesce ho sentito l’abbraccio dell’oceano e l’estasi segreta che solo la cucina sa regalare. Ogni boccone era una carezza salata, un canto antico del Mediterraneo, un pranzo che non saziava ma elevava. Non era semplicemente pesce: era il mare che si faceva poesia, e nel silenzio schiamazzato di una trattoria palermitana ho conosciuto l’incanto del gusto.

Una trattoria come deve essere una trattoria...in base al luogo e alla facciata dell edificio non ci entreresti se fossi un turista. Poi vedi che è pieno di Palermitani e capisci che è qui che si mangia bene e a buon prezzo. Così è stato...ottima cena a base di pesce. Consigliatissimo.

Scoperta per caso questa tipica trattoria; colpisce subito la simpatia e la cordialità del personale, che ci ha accolti con un bellissimo sorriso. Celeri nel prendere le ordinazioni, ed altrettanto , nel servire i piatti richiesti. Cibo buonissimo, preparato con ottime materie prime. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo. Le 5 stelle in tutte le voci sono meritatissime. Lo straconsiglio e ci tornerò con immenso piacere

Buona posizione nei pressi della stazione e del centro, ottimo rapporto prezzo/qualità. Buona qualità del cibo. Personale gentilissimo e sepmre attento al cliente. Avevo letto alcune delle recensioni che parlavano di cibo surgelato scadente, però essendo pochissime le ho ignorate. La pasta era buona ed abbondante. Pure l'antipasto di pesce, il pesce spada ed il dolce erano buoni. Hanno portato il bis di pane senza chiederlo. Per l'antipasto di terra mi aspettavo un pochino di più come quantità... inoltre i pomodori secchi da noi sono sott'olio, ma forse in provincia di Messina siamo abituati troppo bene ;-)
Trattoria che offre ottimi prodotti tipici siciliani, indicato per chi ama il baccalà, anche chi non lo preferisce può gustare le squisite polpette o una buonissima pasta con i ricci. Il locale è situato vicino alla stazione centrale, arredato in maniera originale con elementi decorativi tipici siciliani. Il proprietario è gentilissimo e molto attento nel suggerire i piatti da scegliere, prezzi sono rapportati alla qualità dei prodotti. È da visitare almeno una volta, per chi può è una trattoria dove ritornare.

Ho assaggiato una pasta alla Norma che resterà nella memoria: sapori autentici, ingredienti freschi e un equilibrio perfetto. Un piatto che racconta la Sicilia con semplicità e passione. E i prezzi? Più che onesti, soprattutto per chi arriva dal Nord: qui la qualità si accompagna alla generosità, senza sorprese. Consigliatissimo per chi cerca non solo buon cibo, ma anche un’esperienza umana e sincera. Tornerò con gioia!

The oyster soup was absolutely outstanding — incredibly fresh and plump oysters, with a broth full of deep, rich flavour. The pasta was genuinely delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced. The swordfish, paired with local Sicilian orange and mint, was exceptional: vibrant, aromatic, and wonderfully refreshing. Overall, a truly memorable dining experience and one of the best meals I’ve had in Sicily. Highly recommended.

Beautiful dinner. Cod Messina. Pasta Norma. Pasta Sarde… My husband and I were delighted with this meal. We have been in Sicily up and down, in and out. Small towns, large cities. This is right up there with the best; really fresh, excellent and authentic Sicilian cuisine. Bravo Trattoria Al Sorriso!!!
It was suggested that we try the sardine meatballs by Cristian, and they were much tastier than we expected. I've never had sardines, and I enjoyed the dish. My sisters and I split two pasta dishes (chef fettucce recommended Cristian and fried zucchini and pecorino cheese dish), and they were so flavorful. I would recommend going early or making a reservation. We were also served by Peppe, who was great also. We are going to try and go back for lunch before we catch our train! :)
Had the best spaghetti dish I ever tried, nero di seppia, spaghetti with cuttlefish and its ink - amazing! Seaful, sweet and with some fresh parsley, and perfectly cooked and tender. Definitely recommend!
What a delicious surprise. This place is all about the food - and it's an incredible value for the price. My wife and I had the Sicilian appetizer (variety sampler) and Boatwoman pasta (swordfish and eggplant), which was perfect for two people to share. Flavors in each dish were subtle and got better and better with each taste. If you're near the train station and want some quality food, this is the place.
Simply delicious, wonderfully friendly staff who squeezed us in without a reservation (don't be like me!!) massive portions. The swordfish and mussels were stand outs accompanied with the delightful Sicilian salad .... definitely worth a visit. The throngs of locals are a give away that this tucked away gem is the real deal
Restaurant experts in seafood menu, but classic menu such as carbonara also seemed good. All the dish we ordered had fresh seafood, and I really enjoyed them all. Many locals seemed to visit the place. It's near the station on the back steet, so if you're sensitive to safety issue, I'd recommend to visit here during the day not night.
Real traditional Italian food! Super nice service and fair food value. The waiters were very professional and kind the whole time. The carbonara was amazing made with Parmesan cheese, eggs, and guanciale.
Super authentic Italian fare, close to Palermo Centrale with mostly locals dining and very friendly service. Awesome GF options, any of the pastas can be made with gluten free pasta. We shared an octopus insalata to start (recommended by the waiter) and both had the anchovy pasta, highly recommend! Very cheap too - the anchovy pasta was only 7eu. I wish we had time to go back. NB: Google says they open at 10.30, but they actually open at 12.00.
This place is the perfect proof that it’s worth stepping off the beaten path sometimes, especially when it comes to finding a good restaurant. Located near the train station, in a completely unassuming area, and simply decorated. But here, it’s all about the food. And the fact that it’s excellent is obvious from the moment you walk in — the guests are mostly locals, and the smells coming from the kitchen are mouthwatering. The dishes on the neighboring tables looked so good that we couldn’t wait for ours. And when they arrived, we weren’t disappointed. The appetizers were delicious (the best caponata we had in Palermo, and the pumpkin is a must-try!), the pasta was excellent (watch out — the portions are huge). The staff is cheerful, open, and very friendly. The atmosphere is fantastic. And the cherry on top? The prices — much lower than in the old town center. We’ll definitely be coming back! EDIT: We came back the next day, everything was just as wonderful, and the seafood risotto was the perfect final dinner in Palermo.
Pepe and Samo were so sweet and helpful! They were also handsome and had wonderful energy. We were visiting from California, and I had a swordfish pistachio pasta that was *chef’s kiss*. They had an easy to use QR code menu that allowed for translation to English. Everything was fabulous! Highly recommend :)
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The pasta was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I was really impressed by the generous portion sizes, which made the meal even better. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable, offering great value for such a satisfying meal. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone craving tasty pasta without breaking the bank!
The food is amazing! We were the only non Sicilian people in the restaurant which means it's a favorite amongst the community which is always great. We shared the capponata and the octopus salad to start, followed by a side dish of egg plant (aubergine) and zucchini (courgette) to accompany our swordfish. I had it with tomatoes, capers and olives and my dad had it with pistachio and oranges. The house wine was great and so was the homemade bread.
This place is a hidden gem! The area isn’t overly touristy, which makes it even better – more local and authentic. The food was absolutely delicious. I especially recommend the carbonara – it was incredible! Also, the handmade fish balls were full of flavor and clearly made with care. A great spot for a tasty and memorable meal.

Don’t let the area fool you – this place is a hidden gem! Located near a train station, the surroundings feel a bit dodgy at first, but once you step inside, it’s a whole different world. The restaurant is charming, the service is quick and friendly, and the food is genuinely good – especially if you love seafood. They specialize in fresh seafood dishes – I highly recommend starting with the fried seafood platter, which was crispy and flavorful, then following up with any of their seafood pastas. I had one and it was absolutely amazing. They also serve very affordable house wine, which pairs perfectly with the meal. All in all, it’s a great local spot to enjoy authentic Sicilian seafood without the touristy fuss. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Palermo!
craving squid ink pasta so bad so i walked in this restaurant without reservation. the service is great, staff very helpful and kind! the squid ink pasta is amazing for sure, the starter i ordered (forgot its name but it’s aubergine with parmesan and breadcrumbs) is wonderful which is a surprise!
One of the best meals we had in Sicily. The seafood couscous, which they recommended as the dish of the day, was absolutely fantastic. The swordfish with sweet and sour onions, sun-dried tomatoes, and orange sauce was equally incredible. Just looking at their menu again has me drooling… On top of that, the service was super attentive.

Trattoria che offre piatti tipici siciliani e non solo. Siamo arrivati in tarda serata senza prenotazione e ci hanno fatto sedere subito nonostante il locale fosse bello pieno. Oltre al menu c’erano diversi piatti del giorno. Noi per iniziare abbiamo scelto baccalà fritto e polpette di tonno. Come primo piatto spaghetti con ricci e spaghetti con vongole e per finire un baccalà alla messinese. Il servizio è veloce e gentile e i piatti sono abbondanti e buoni
Il locale offre specialità della tradizione e porzioni abbondanti. Ho assaggiato le polpette con le sarde e una pasta alla Norma, accompagnate da una bottiglia d’acqua da 500 ml; entrambi i piatti si sono rivelati piacevoli e ben realizzati, pur lasciando qualche margine di miglioramento. In fondo, una trattoria punta soprattutto alla sostanza piuttosto che ai dettagli.Mi permetto di suggerire con spirito costruttivo una maggiore attenzione alla cottura della pasta (era leggermente scotta), l’utilizzo di un tovagliolo tra il pane e il cestino, la presenza di un porta bicchiere lavabile e qualche intervento di ristrutturazione nel bagno. Attirati dalle molte recensioni positive, abbiamo prenotato per un pranzo durante una gita da Catania. Siamo rimasti allibiti: servizio lentissimo, più di 40 minuti per due piatti di pasta, senza nessuna scusa da parte del personale. La pasta anciove sapeva di tutto tranne che di acciuga, quella alle zucchine era cruda (e lo dico da amante della pasta al dente) e la porzione era la metà dell'altra. Sembra una trappola per turisti. Sinceramente non mi capacito della valutazione così alta.
