This place really comes alive late at night, especially between 11 PM and midnight, when it starts to fill up fast. The energy is high and the atmosphere is fun and lively. There’s an outdoor patio that adds extra space, though it can get noisy inside and out. Even with the volume, it’s still possible to hold a conversation. Seating doesn’t last long, so grabbing a table early is a smart move if you plan to stay awhile.
A solid bar right in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. It’s surprisingly spacious, featuring a large indoor area for both seating and standing, plus an expansive outdoor patio. My group arrived around 5:30 p.m., and there was plenty of room for everyone. I’ve heard great things about the drinks, though I didn’t notice any food options. Overall, a great spot for hanging out — especially if you’re coming with a large group.
Cover charge starts at 9pm. They have an early happy hour. It gets packed around 11pm-midnight. Great atmosphere. There is an outdoor patio area. It is a loud environment and outdoor is also pretty loud but you can have a conversation. Tables fill up quickly.
I recently visited La Cita for the second time on a Thursday night, and it was just as vibrant and happy as my first experience. Both visits were after other events, turning into a kind of afterparty as we arrived around 10:30 or 11 p.m. The atmosphere is alive – a mix of energy, music, and fun. The DJ played a great variety of Latin music that kept everyone on the dance floor, and the crowd was diverse. From locals to people dressed in suits and dresses fresh from a gala, La Cita attracts a mix of people from all walks of life and all ages. I danced with my group and even met a few new people to share the dance floor with, which made the night even more memorable. Everyone I was with danced and had some drinks. While I didn’t get to try the food this time, I remember enjoying it on my previous visit. There’s even a food truck parked out front for late-night bites. If you’re looking for a lively spot with great music, dancing, and an electric vibe, La Cita is the place. I’ll definitely be back more times!
Pretty good bar in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Surprisingly large, with a large indoors seating and standing area, as well as a large outdoors seating area. My group arrived around 5:30pm and there was more than enough room for us. I heard the drinks are great. Didn’t see any food offerings, though. Recommendable for large groups.
This place is dope. Do you remember the Infinity room the Broad museum had a while back? First time walking in, it felt like that - the lighting is so cool! The vibe is great, Mexican through and through, and I wish we'd come later at night, you can just tell it gets lit. Drinks were good too, nothin like an authentic Paloma🤤
Very fun place. It's a little pricey as one would expect being right in Downtown Los Angeles. But the vibes kind of make up for it. I came in here on a weekday night when the place wasn't really hype. But there was still a very upbeat vibe with cool red lights. This place has a very nice patio. That's where we sat when visiting this place. You can definitely tell that this place fills up during prime times. There were spots for dancing and the music that was playing was upbeat and loud. Overall, I had a great experience with this bar. It had a very upbeat vibe and a nice patio.
Pulled up to la cita bar on a Thursday night. Wow I was amazed by the vibe, we were in LA looking for something Latin. We sure did find it! You need to check out la Cita Bar when you are in LA it’s not a miss. I enjoy my time while I was here, s/o X the bartender! We were wanting a specific drink and he came through! Thanks La Cita Bar for letting us have a good time, definitely will come back and visit again!!
If you like Latino music and dance, this is the spot. I came on a Friday night, they charged $15 cash for admission fee. Of course, there are many people on the “guest list”. Parking right next door charges $20, but if you are ok with walking for like 1 to 2 blocks, they have $10 lots too. They have different live bands playing different music all night. At 1:20am they will come to you and tell you the club is closing in 10min. The house drinks are so so, I recommend paying a bit more for the better liquor. The outdoor area is very nice and good for some fresh air. The dancing pit is not THAT big but fun. Many love birds there :) I would recommend it!
Came here to see what the hype is all about on Wednesdays. Wow it was busy and music was great. Me and my girls had a good time dancing. Wednesday nights just got a little better
Best happy hour in DTLA here with Rommel on La Cita patio!! Great spot to watch the Lakers and LA sports teams on the open air patio here! Rommel whips up an amazing drink with awesome service with…
Five star dive? Yup, they have Cumbia on Thursdays for a $10 cover. Divey and surrounded with food options. Tamales in the back or food truck outside. \n\nGreat place to dance the night away with…
Coming up from San Diego, this place was really rocking. A lot of space and the outdoor area is a nice touch to step out if it becomes too hot outside. Place is a little run down, but it honestly builds it character. Prices are also reasonable for Los Angeles.
Friendly bartender and decent beer prices 👍😜, right next to the grand Central market and right across the street from Angels Flight, lot's of fun things to do in the area! Sometimes there are cute girls in there with a cute French bulldog!
My client and I popped in here after a lunch meeting for the first time without really knowing what to expect. We wanted to grab a couple cocktails and discuss our upcoming project. Well, we ended up forgetting about talking work and instead hopped on the dance floor with the most eclectic gathering of Angelinos cutting the rug to Mariachi tunes. I danced with an older Mexican guy who was wearing a non-ironic cowboy hat and boots that looked as if he just came off the ranch, which was a pleasant surprise since we were in the heart of Downtown L.A. The drinks were 4 stars and the decor was a 3, but in a good way. Fun factor was 5 stars!
Excellent music, great drinks available, and dancing. Can be a bit edgy for some, alcohol and tempers, mostly. The security takes such things VERY seriously and quickly, so definitely come correct or attend elsewhere if you're looking for a more relaxed environment. Good times to be bad here for sure, I had a blast and the music was muy caliente, no doubt. 🕺🎶
This is a great downtown LA bar that has a pretty descent sized dance floor. A solid spot after the Dodger or Lakers game. The outdoor patio is pretty cool with that red light. There’s about two bars with enough bartenders so getting a drink is not that long unless it’s super busy. Solid drinks & the crowd is pretty chill with lots of people ready to dance. Their mini taco stand had solid offerings and they were delicious. I’d definitely come back here again & it’s always a great post laker, dodger spot.
I happened to pass by this place in the daytime and took a look inside, it seemed interesting. I went to where I needed to be first, and on my way back I decided to stop for a drink. The bartender was friendly, the bar was quiet, which I expected for a weekday. I enjoyed a margarita and a Jack Daniels. I plan to return on a weekend to see what the nightlife is like.
Great music and community. Dated building, Looking rundown. The bar has decent service however $35 drinks is way way too much. All the people we spoke to at the bar were saying the same thing.

Nice chill spot for happy hours. Food ok, not too bad. Drink was reasonable and music was nice but loud. Can't heat yourself talking to others at all. Parking is awful

I’ve been here so many times best days are Friday and Saturday but the Djs been shit lately. It gets really packed if hard to find where to dance or sit. The staff is whatever they are always short staffed , idk why if they make money over charging for entrance and drinks and they get the people. The bathroom aren't always stocked up just in the beginning of the night then they don’t have anyone to restock it so BYO toliet paper. They make enough to have a lady in there.

Honestly, this was my go to Spot but last night when I got to the parking lot when we narrow pay some guy came to my window and was charging us so I found out kind of weird because we never paid for …
Waited 25 mins for a drink then when I stood on the chair to get the bartenders attention the security came at me crazy and threatened to kick me out. I told him I’ve been waiting over 20 mins for a drink to which he replied “wait 20 minutes more “ And shockingly we had to!! It took over over 45 minutes to get a drink. Bartenders did literally everything possible except serve drinks, until that is all they had left to. Don’t understand why it’s crowded whew I could get better service all round (from security to service) and Musis without the attitude and wait.
Tried it for the first time & it definitely became the last. The Drinks were absolutely Trash & overpriced. Music would turn off randomly and the vibe was uncomfortable at times. Creepy atmosphere to be honest. It Feels like a place the Cartel would hang out. I'm Not sure why anyone would come here. So many better venues close by that offer a better vibe and better drinks. *Positive note: Bouncers at the door are Cool.
Make yourself a favor a don’t go to this place. NOT WORTH YOUR 💰. $30.00 for parking $20.00 for the entrance and the drinks are totally water down and over price. Service is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! The worst experience EVER!!! The staff is VERY RUDE. They TOTALLY RUINED MY BDAY CELEBRATION! I will rate them 000/10🤨
Ratio is 6/1. $10 beers in DTLA is wild. Music is ok. Theres a bartender/security that has napoleon syndrome and hysterically funny by how rude he is to people. So much better bars in downtown with a better crowd, don’t waste your time or money.
