Great food ! Served well we enjoyed. We had Avacado toast and veggie burrito. It was awesome!!
Definitely try one of their sandwiches, they’re really good! The service was friendly, and I had a great time overall. I loved the music and the atmosphere; it made me feel relaxed and calm during my lunchtime visit. I’ll definitely be going back again 🩷
Love! The breakfast sandwiches are massive and absolutely mouth watering! The vietnamese coffee was bold, sweet, and delicious! Will definitely stop in again! Quaint, friendly, total vibe spot!
Huge sandwich and delicious. Perfect to share if you want. Server was super nice
First came here 1 year ago and had the absolute BEST experience. Every single employee is so kind and welcoming. We tried some amazing dishes the BOMBEST french toast, chicken, steak, coffee, lemonade and so much more! 😍 Came back Today and i’m truly amazed by the continuous food quality, taste, and honestly overall customer experience. 5000/10 Recommend eating here! 💣
What I had Breakfast burrito with steak ($15.5+$3) Horchata latte with oat milk $6 What he had Turkey bacon egg bagel $11.5 Vietnamese iced coffee $6.5 ORDER WHAT I HAD! The steak breakfast burrito was absolutely delicious. Great seasoning, great portions, evenly distributed so every bite had a little bit of everything. The steak were little strips, but it made it tender and easy to consume. The iced horchata latte was sweet and cinnamony with a great espresso taste, no watered down taste! What he had didn't impress me as much, but it doesn't mean it wasn't good. It was fresh, and the eggs were fluffy and made perfect, but I'm not a big fan of turkey bacon on a sandwich and the bagel wasn't my style of bagel (I like them chewy). His Vietnamese latte was not sweet at all which typically is mixed with condensed milk so idk if a step was mistaken. We actually ended up mixing our coffees together. I'm sure if we had told the gentleman he would've just made a new one or added sweetness, because he was so kind and inviting, but we were too focused on our food to really care. Atmosphere is what took a star down. Cute and clean place but it was a bit stuffy. Would've just ate outside where the air felt nicer, but the one table was in the sun so it wasn't ideal.
Located in the Corporation Food Hall, Civilization is a must try! The service was excellent and the food slaps. We got the breakfast sandwich and breakfast bowl. Both were large portions and filled us up. The horchata cold brew and honey vanilla lattes were great. Would recommend!
Found this amazing breakfast stop on a trip to LA. Horchata cold brew was delicious. Best breakfast burrito ever! We went twice because it was so good! The portions were generous, the food was very fresh and flavorful. The owner is very polite and friendly.
Insanely good food, one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, potatoes are super good, same with French toast and everything else. Service was great as well!! Only a few places to sit though so could be hard to eat in if it’s busy
This is one of the best restaurant in the LA downtown area. We tried their CaliChicken sandwich and French Toast. Best sandwich and French toast I ever had! You will love their custom service. Very down to earth staff. They have outside as well as inside dine-in service.
Good Cappuccino, cute place and nice staff. Taste Sandwiches.
Absolutely loved the food, by far my favorite Breakfast place here in LA (we came on vacation for 4 days).
A great breakfast and lunch spot by the court house. Youssef and mariciel were very polite, accommodating to add to my request with my order and the place was clean with the positive vibes music. Thank you

Chill little place. Friendly Gen Z homies. Fluffy eggs on simple yummy items. Homey vibes. Coffee done well. Shoutout to Naser!
First time visiting this cafe and it sure won't be my last, I had ordered a beef chorizo breakfast burrito with a iced mocha and my gf had a breakfast sandwich with a caramel iced coffee. Made fresh and with love, it was simple flavors made right. Great portions and did not skimp on ingredients. Definitely a spot to check out, shout out to the front of the house and the chef. Be back soon.
The chicken sandwich I had was so delicious. It’s a pretty small space, but still a nice atmosphere.
Super tasty! Got one of their egg sandwiches and a cappuccino and it was delicious!

We really enjoyed the food. Also a special recommendation for people from Europe as the food is super fresh. The service was outstandingly nice. Real fun place to get a good sandwich and great coffee beverages.
Even mediocre latte is better than no latte at all. :D So buckle up and let’s begin this coffee shop. Civilization Cafe is a tiny modest cafe that serve coffee, pastries, brunch and breakfast. It’s located strategically in the heart of DTLA’s Justice court. Interior decor was simple with a few art canvass. Atmosphere was nice. They have very limited indoor and outdoor seats. Civilization has all the basic Coffee items. I had a Spanish Latte. And it was mediocre but decent enough for commoners to drink. Service was spot on. Young Gen Z staff were very affable and respectful. Finding street metered parking was bloody challenging albeit plenty of public parking lot ($12/all day). I was lucky to find a spot 100 meters from the cafe. Overall, Civilization cafe is the kind of to-go cafe for professional or lawyers who were in a rush to get to court for case litigation. I won’t be coming back.
Ok it's a really cute cafe, the staff are super kind and mindful, but I CANNOT go without warning other people they DO NOT have real bagels. It's just bread in the shape of a donut with everything seasoning, it struck close to my heart like that court verdict that day. I resorted to consulting my Chefs over this anomaly and they said they are bagels, but alas I refuse to accept such a fluffy gasket to be recognized as such! Did the east coast ruin me? Or did it teach me a new standard of life?! Regardless everything else was a delight.

Most photos found in this review are of the 724 Spring Street location, not the location I'm reviewing. I'll try it once unless it's just all wrong and the 2nd Street loc is to small, mocha coffee was warm not hot, taste was off, and service was extremely slow (there wasn't a lot of customers, that's a clue). My friends all said their drinks were off. Looking at the reviews, I'm confused how these two locations are crossed when they are clearly not the same, maybe Spring Strett loc closed? But I doubt I'll be returning.

This place is tucked away and is connected to other restaurants. It is really small and you eat outside of the restaurant. There is no seating for this restaurant. I picked this restaurant for the reviews. But it did not meet standards. I ordered a BLT on a croissant. The bread was really thick. It could have been okay if the bread was soft and if there was not 1 piece of bacon for each side of the large croissant. I also got the strawberry and blueberry smoothie. That was good. Other orders were a bagel and a bacon and egg biscuit. The biscuit tasted like it was kept in the refrigerator and this also had 1 piece of bacon on each biscuit. This place did not meet expectations.
