We were greeted with a smile and it got better from there. We had a burger with broccoli slaw as well as a baby kale salad. All three were great. You could tell the burger was hand made from fresh beef, not a factory patty. The brioche bin was light and fresh! Fantastic lunch!
Service was amazing and they were on the ball moving quickly and helping each other out as needed. The food was very good and I am excited to go back and try different meals. A lot of options to select from when you come eat here. Be prepared to get a good size portion of food.
The staff are always so incredibly kind and attentive!! It's rare to find customer service as good as it is here! Food is awesome and fresh. This is my go-to lunch spot, and the outdoor seating options makes it even better!
From the moment I walked in I was greeted in a friendly manner, I was offered recommendations and never felt rushed to order. The ambience is rustic and clean. I went with the creator burger, beef patty, tomato, lettuce, and pickles. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had in quite a while. The regular fries were a little hard and crispy. But, I was so hungry that I just ate everything. Thank you
Honestly some of the BEST food I've had, and I make a point to stop by every time I'm nearby. You can taste the farm-to-table difference. wish they had more hours!
One of my favorite local spots in Waco, along with their sister establishment, Street Dog Café. The food is delicious. I am very biased toward the Brussels sprouts, burgers, and sweet potato fries, but above all, the customer service really stands out. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and inviting. Definitely worth a visit!
Even in the middle of a rush we were sat fast and tended to very quickly. Food was incredible. Community style service was a new experience but I think every place should be like this. I really enjoyed our food, fries, sweet tea was good. Highly recommend. We will be back.
Stopped here for lunch and the place was about 90% full, but they were still able to accommodate us quickly. The staff was very friendly and accommodating—they even made a simple veg burger for my son, even though it wasn’t on the menu. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Overall, a great experience.
This is a quaint restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. We had the 8th day sandwich and the Eve salad. The sandwich is delicious and large. The salad is enough for 2. A nice experience!
Food and drink were outstanding. For lunch I ordered two sides, the Tomato soup and the Caesar salad. My wife ordered from the kids menu 🤣, grill cheese and sweet potato fries and a side soup. They allowed her to substitute regular fries for sweet potato fries. Staff was extremely courteous. We’ll be back.
Arrived about 1230 for a late lunch with a group. Ended up sitting at a hightop with six other men and started perusing the menu. Good selection and diverse offerings. Due to personal preferences, I went with a build your own burger and it came out perfectly. I had several refills of the house cola and the wait staff was attentive and responsive. The room was quite loud for a private conversation but in our group setting it worked ok. The place was full with several tables of our group sitting outside. Would recommend an early seating during lunch hour and I highly recommend the food. Everyone at our table was very complementary about the food. Kudos to the young lady clearing and cleaning tables, she was on point and focused, timely and turned them over promptly. Highly recommend for a visit if you are in the Waco area.
Place was packed and we waited less than 15 min for a table. The food we ordered took about 15 min to arrive, the servers were friendly and they had multiple people for refills. We ordered 2 custom burgers with veggie patty and one weight of glory (portobello mushroom burger) and technicolor dreamcoat sandwich (sweet potato and pickled beets filling) which were excellent. The food was good and the place was excellent to visit with friends.
The Holy Grail Is Real—and It’s Got Fries on the Side Revival Eastside Eatery | Waco, TX | 5 Stars They call it the Holy Grail, and after one bite, I understood why. This burger didn’t come to play—it came to preach. Juicy, flavorful, anchored by peppery arugula and creamy cheese, hugged between what I’m certain is a toasted brioche bun. Not too thick. Not too soft. Just enough to remind you: balance is holy. But the Holy Grail doesn’t walk alone. It comes with Holy Grail Fries, crisped at the edges, golden through the middle, salted just right. If I have one suggestion for Revival, it’s this: leave the ketchup packets to the drive-thrus. These fries deserve a ramekin. Dignify the dip. Now the dessert—this one surprised me. A mint chocolate chip mousse so light and airy, it nearly floated off the spoon. Drizzled with chocolate, sprinkled with Oreo crumbles, and topped with a mint Oreo, it was exactly the kind of portion and flavor a good meal deserves to end on. Sweet, cool, elegant, and restrained. My drink of choice: a chilled Maine Root soda, full-bodied and smooth. It paired with everything like it had rehearsed for the role. But this isn’t just about the food. Revival tells a story. Danielle and Travis Young didn’t grow up in restaurants. Danielle is a Baylor-educated clinical psychologist. Travis was in education. One night in 2017, they couldn’t find a local spot that was both fresh and soulful. So they asked a bold question: How hard could it be to open a restaurant? Hard. But they did it anyway. They found a long-abandoned church building on Elm Avenue and turned it into Revival. Not just in name, but in spirit. The menu leans into biblical wordplay—the Holy Grail burger, the Weight of Glory sandwich, the Technicolor Dreamcoat, the Garden of Eating salad. It’s cheeky, sure. But it’s also reverent. The inside is rustic-modern: exposed brick, real wood, soft light. It feels honest, grounded, and warm. Ordering is done at the table, with QR codes and friendly, present staff who seem genuinely glad to be there. It’s not performative. It’s personal. The outside patio is an open invitation—picnic tables under wide skies, next to a vibrant mural that welcomes you to East Waco like a hometown chorus. Revival didn’t just move in. It rooted. It respected the neighborhood, listened to the stories, and answered with presence. And that’s why this isn’t just another burger joint. It’s a declaration. Revival doesn’t beg for attention. It earns it—bite by bite, story by story. From the Golden Calf burger to the mousse that tastes like a whispered hallelujah, this is a restaurant that remembers why people gather around food in the first place. Five stars. No notes. Come hungry—and come ready to call it by name: The Holy Grail.
My son and I came here for lunch June 19th. Most of the seating was taken but we sat on the huge bar facing out the window. It was our first time here and was very pleasant. Fast service welcomed us, got our drinks and food. Food and pricing were great. This is a great spot and well worth eating here.
Stumbled upon this place while visiting Waco for the day. It was away from the popular market area, but worth the short drive. Service was amazing from the time we walked in, during the meal, and even on the way out. Server was very helpful in giving some recommendations. Everything on the menu sounded good. Ordered a burger, salad, and sweet potato fries. Food was just as good as the service. Burger was perfectly put together and plated. Bun was very soft and fresh. I definitely have to come back to try some of the other burgers, sandwiches, and salads.
Great food! Great service! I think there are excellent choices of sandwiches, and ways to customize your burger! I do wish they had a few more vegan choices! But I did have the Technicolor Dreamcoat sandwich which was superb! And easily veganised. Everything was very tasty! They need a bigger place!
Well, here is another restaurant we have driven by many times and never stopped treating. It was a few and far between ability to have lunch together on a workday. We were actually headed to Hotel 1928 to have lunch. As we turned on to Elm Street off of Business 77 (Jasper's BBQ). We both said at the same time, "Let's eat at Revival." After several years of being open, my expectations were high. So we have seen the outside for years, and it's awesome. As we stepped into the restaurant, you can't help but notice how open and clean it is. As my wife said, "it's so cute." I will say I didn't like the chair. It had an awkward fit with the "hips." Since this was our 1st time. Our waiter was patience with us, and he explained the top 4 picks. They gave us ample time for us to pick or order. My wife had the Golden Calf burger with sweet potato fries and I had to build your burger. As seen in the photo, the burger came out stacked high. My wife cut her burger in half. I chose the old man way, I grabbed my burger by 2 hand and forced it into my mouth. It tasted so fresh, better homemade. Everything tasted as they just picked the vegetables, ground the meat, and made your bread. When they say "we source our ingredients locally," it taste that way. See ya soon on the road!
The food is excellent and the staff is very good and makes sure you have everything you need. I couldn't believe how the price point was so reasonable considering the quality of the food, cleanliness, and staff work ethic. Just revisited last week, and as usual, everything was perfectly delicious. P.S. the beautiful young employee who married my son is also a dedicated person as well as a great daughter-in-law... I rate this a FIVE STAR because of the food quality, flavor, and the super friendly service! Not because of family...
Nice no frills atmosphere with clean decor. I like the theme here. The food is above average in taste with average portion sizes. Staff generally seems happy to be there. I think they would save on a lot of refill labor if they switched to 16 oz cups over 12 oz ones currently in use. Let's be honest, a 12 oz cup filled 70% with ice won't hold a lot of tea before it looks like it needs to be topped off. The staff is very attentive to your refill needs though!
This is a great find on the east side of Waco. I never knew there was so much happening over on that side of town. The eatery is beautifully set up and the food is amazing. Minus a few stars only because it does get very loud inside the restaurant. Either way I will recommend this to my friends and we will be back.
First off, the guys and gals working there couldn't have been nicer. It's a cute place, and a friendly atmosphere. I wish the floor seating was comfortable (hard chairs). And there seems to be an epidemic amidst locally owned eateries offering lackluster french fries. Good french fries are not hard to do. I find myself often having to ask for the french fries extra crispy, and while establishments don't always fully follow through on this request, today was the first time where a place outright told me they wouldn't and couldn't make them crispier. The perfectly friendly young man waiting on us informed us that they make their fries in batches and they couldn't make them any crispier. Sure enough they came out smushy and pretty bland, and not even all that hot. Burger was delicious but the fries kind of deflated the experience. I'll never understand why a burger joint can't make good fries!
