We had dinner at Ole Gin Steakhouse LLC tonight, and everything was absolutely delicious! The prime rib, New York strip, and ribeye were incredibly tender—each one perfectly seasoned and cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The shrimp and grits were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the Cajun shrimp had just the right amount of char and spice. The catfish was perfectly breaded and full of flavor. I didn’t try the mozzarella sticks or the loaded sidewinder fries myself, but everyone else raved about them. We also brought home the dessert sampler, and every one of the five desserts we picked was a hit—rich, sweet, and satisfying. It was so good that I forgot to take pictures before digging in. Highly recommend!
The food was amazing. The steaks were grilled with the greatest char that was amazing and perfect. This tasted like steaks we cooked at house but better. The Cesar Salad was great and fresh romaine was perfect. The croutons they used for the Cesar were something like I never had before and were amazing as well. To have a local place to have such great food was perfect and worth the trip from Pelham, AL.
Bit of a wait for a table but it was well worth it! I got the grilled chicken macaroni and cheese! It was absolutely delicious!!! The service was outstanding!!! So many deserts to choose from as well!!!
Excellent steaks, sides and desserts!

One of the best ribeyes I’ve had. Despite a full house, service was extremely quick and friendly. Everything was delicious! Will definitely return when we’re in the area, (3 hours from home).
The steaks are absolutely delicious. Food portions were very generous and the desserts are amazing. We noticed that the entire wait staff was very helpful and helped each other out when passing the table. Highly recommend!!
Best steak I believe I have ever eaten. Cooked to exact Medium like I ordered.Server was very polite and took good care of us. The price is not for everyone so don’t think you gonna be at cheap. My opinion it was worth every penny. Fried peach pie reminded me of Grandmas .
I had steak and it was top notch the best tasting steak I have ever ate . My bf had fish and it was also top notch . The side was incredible!!! We got desserts to go bc we where so full and they were simply amazing!!! This steak house has big Mikes beat by a long shot. The owner was walking around talking to everyone and taking pictures. It was great southern hospitality !!!! Will definitely be going back!!!!
Family owned restaurant, only open for dinner a few days of the week, and they know how to cook! Steaks are tender, seasoned (no sauce needed), and the other stuff they serve is done well, too. And the desserts, wow! That apple pie shake almost gave me diabetes, but it's so good! This is a great date night restaurant, friendly staff, and worth the money. Try it!
The Ole Gin Steakhouse is an excellent place to eat. Their steaks are amazing! They cook them over a wood fire which gives them a delicious taste! 10/10 Their collards and other sides are amazing as well! The desserts are out of this world! Go give them a try!
Top shelf steaks cooked to perfection on wood fire, creamy mac & cheese, desserts hand made by the owner. Friendly staff, rustic setting in small town Alabama.
Great food and people. My steak was seasoned perfectly and my wife got a sampler with a pork chop. It was the best pork chop either of us has ever had hands down. Highly recommend!

The steaks were the best we've had in a long while. The pricing on the menu seems a little high at first, but they are worth every penny. I can't wait to come back.

First time visitor for my bday last week. The food was fantastic! Best steak I’ve ever eaten in Alabama. The service was great too. The owner was super nice guy. If you’re ever in the area stop by you won’t regret it! Btw the blackberry cobbler was amazing too!
My husband and I have been twice so far, both being excellent experiences. You can’t beat the beautiful drive out into the country. The building is interesting and unique. The owner is very personable, and comes by to take pictures of customers at each table every night they’re open. The service was wonderful and we were checked on often. We personally love the steak—it’s the best we’ve ever had from anywhere. The portions are plenty and the food quality is top notch. If you have room for it, the dessert menu is incredible.
So this is supposed to be a top-notch place in the area and I had to try it because I was disappointed at a place called bama bucks. This one was clearly better but I felt that the Macedonia ribeye had too much of a fat cap. I also don't think this was either choice or prime cut. I have been to some high-end steakhouses where you actually pick the steak you want grilled. I asked for the steak medium rare and it was almost like seared on both sides and pretty raw. It's a good thing because I actually can eat red meat. The mac and cheese was phenomenal and the baked potato was really good. I asked for a Caesar salad but there was no romaine in it. It was a very finely chopped salad with regular iceberg lettuce. I believe the owner was the one taking pictures and was a very nice gentleman. I feel that I could have cooked a better steak myself. I'm not saying it's bad. I just have some very good cooking skills so it's hard to impress me. I also had a dessert which I was not able to finish due to all the food. The portions are pretty big and so is the prices.

This place is a great country restaurant! Great food and good friendly service. This is not a quick eat restaurant. Expect an hour and a 1/2 to 2 hours for the full experience. And speaking of experience, that is exactly what you are getting at this restaurant, it's literally in a former cotton gin. The décor matches the name and the owner is super awesome. We had a party of about 29 (Yes.. 29!) and they did a great job taking care of us. Know that there are specials, and their steaks are limited in quantities. I recommend to go as early as you can, as close to their opening as possible. As they can run out of some things that are in high demand such as their special of the day.

The best thing about the place is the friendly management, they are very welcoming and cordial. People rave about the place, and never seem to mention the $50-60 steak prices. It's simply not all it's hyped up to be. The food is average to slightly better, and WAY overpriced. It's the only restaurant for miles, but way too expensive for a family place. We spent around $100, for dinner for two.
First time eating here and certainly will be the last , had the 2 piece catfish and it was awful , tasted like lake water and was super greasy , mentioned that it was not good to our server and she just said *uh ok* , no mention of getting it removed or replacing it which is shocking considering my plate was 24.99 for 2 pieces of fish and basic sides , I expect it to actually taste decent but sadly not the case here . So I ended up just paying for it and being done. Half the menu was unavailable it seemed , as other people in my party were unable to order what they wanted. It took almost an hour for our food to even come out. The mac and cheese was just ok but at least eatable. The best part of the whole meal was the cheddar biscuits, those actually tasted pretty good. But overall the entire experience was god awful and just not worth the price. Maybe I just went on a bad night or something but I won't be repeating to see if that's the case. I'd avoid and seek food elsewhere as you will probably have a better experience and actually be cheaper. I've had better fish at Captain D's.
We went here for my boyfriends birthday dinner, party of 8. We ordered the 30oz steaks. They are NOT worth even the on sale price of $40.00. No flavor. Kids steak was burnt. Another child's cheeseburger was wrong. The sweet tea is like lightly tented barely sweet water. And for the price we expected hose made salad dressings, not Ceasar from a packet. It was on the low end of mediocre at best. We were excited by all the good reviews, but left disappointed.
This was my first experience there and overall I was not impressed. For starters we arrived on a Saturday night and was unable to order 1/2 of the menu which was highly disappointing considering what we was able to order was mediocre at best. The food took an hour to come out and when it did it was clearly either overcooked or undercooked on the steaks. The chicken was cooked well and tasted good. This was not the case with the fish that tasted like they found it in the sewer as it was very greasy and pond tasting. We made our waitress aware of the issues which was responded with an unsympathetic attitude you could definitely tell she was just having a busy night. She did offer to place another order for something else but given that it took so long the first time and we live an hour away we declined. When we went to pay we were shocked that our bill was $75 for 2 people I had a steak salad and my husband ordered but unable to eat the catfish. This restaurant has potential I can see that but considering that it is located in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE…it shows that the service and quality of food and staff were less important than what I would find in the city. 3/10 recommend overall if you go early and plan to pay a lot for your meal.

We went out of our way for this below par dining experience. With a party of 7, I was told it would be a little while, but after 22 were sat before us(that I personally helped the hostess acknowledge), we almost left. We held on, then they sat us with the server who just got the 6-top who were sat ahead of us. The staff was nice and the “red lobster” style biscuits were good, as for the 2 stars. The bad side- the service took a while, but I can’t blame the server. EVERYONE’s steak was over-cooked(Asked for medium, received well done). There was also a bug in my son’s loaded macaroni cheese. We didn’t complain, but this was certainly over-priced for this experience. I did mention the issues when checking out and the cashier said she was sorry… Again nice people and biscuits for a “steakhouse”.
Worst overall dinner ever experienced in my 78 yrs. Wait time 1 hr. At 5:30 told they were out of ribeye and strip steak. Got a poor cut 8 oz fillet steak that was supposed to be 12oz. I eat a 7oz fillet in Guntersville all the time and know the difference. Wife waited 20 min to use bathroom. Crazy bad overall.
We came to eat here tonight because of word of mouth. Walked in looked very appetizing. I had to go to the restroom before we ordered our food only to be told the ladies toilet was broken. I was going to use the men’s and that one was “broken”as well. No problem things happen, while we were sitting waiting to order we observed a lady with purple gloves going into the restroom, she then comes out and walks in to the kitchen with THOSE same gloves. We decided we had seen enough. As we were leaving the manager or owner is standing outside telling us that a kid put a whole thing of wipes into the toilet and that was the problem. No sir the problem is the woman with the gloves going into the kitchen after doing god knows what in the bathroom. He then takes a picture of our car tag like we are the problem. One and done here for sure!
We went on 1-8-26 we had heard so much about the restaurant and how good it was after eating there we found that it was way over priced and the steaks were 2nd grade steaks the bone in the steak was so large that the steak you got was really a small and full of fat and the baked potato was really small and the salad was not a regular salad the salad looked like stems the steaks was not eatable brought them home give it to our dogs they would not it .all this food cost us over a $100 for two so if you wish to waste your money go there and eat .there was only on a few people there we shouldn't gotten the hit that the food was bad and left.they take pictures of everyone that comes through the door and you would think it was ful but it's not.
