Didn't try the food,but the drinks we're exhalent the bar tender was very knowledgeable had a great time

The bartenders know what they are doing . Make a fabulous smoked old fashion . They have one of the best bar selections I have seen in the east bay area . Will be returning again

The best cocktails in the area! We’ve been here several times now, and it never disappoints. From all the delicious and unique old fashioned and other cocktail options (personal favorite is the chai old fashioned), to the huge selection of liquor, beer, and wine, no one will leave disappointed. The food is also delicious, we’ve tried several items on their menu, but their cheese flat bread is always a favorite! Also the servers are always very friendly and great at providing recommendations. Last night our server recommended my husband try their whiskey sour, and for the next round of drinks after that we all ordered it because it was SO good. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great drinks!

A five star is for the Bourboun and Whiskey selection. We also ordered the wings, which were ok. Atmosphere and service was good. A little loud inside, because of close proximity seating and people who can't handle their booze. If you can't find a good bourbon here, you should stop drinking bourbon!

Like the place. Great selection of drinks and amazing food menu. Specially love their chicken naan tacos, NY style pretzel and old fashioned. The bar staff is good and service is quick. Presentation is nice. Overall, good place for hanging out with friends or just solo dinner.

I love everything about Hops and Scotch. I don't live in the area and I look forward to coming here each time I'm visiting my son. My favorite pretzels anywhere on the planet are here. Don't change anything!

Went there looking for a place to charge my cellphone. I had a beer, some wings and they charged my cellphone. Nice place. I’m from out of town. Will definitely be back.

Ask for their whiskey bible. They don't have it online. Preselected flights were pretty good. Naan tacos were also good. Chana masala was mildly sweet. Falafel was a bit dry. Patio seating has some cozy soft seating. Good for an afternoon laze.

Hops & Scotch is our go to for cocktails, I recommend them to everyone! I’m a Gin girl & they have an excellent selection of Gin & original Gin cocktails. The service is excellent and the bartenders are knowledgeable and experienced.

I had two kinds of naan tacos that were so tasty and my husband really enjoyed his sliders. The salty boiled peanuts were a great appetizer too. It looks like a great place for a group to enjoy the patio seating on a warm evening but the indoor bar area is cozy for an autumn game night too. We don’t live in the East Bay but definitely want to return for the friendly service, savory food, and to sample more scotch!

The food is great, and well-paired. I would like to see a couple more options, but it's not a deal breaker. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and I feel like I could get to know them now this is my local. I think I'm going to be a regular.

I like that you can get different sized glasses of beer (reg pour and 5oz) and whiskey (1.5 & .5oz). The employees were legit cool too. Try the hummus, pretzel, wings, or one of the cheese plates - all delicious!

SO GOOD! I've been looking for a quality whiskey bar for ages and finally I found the bar of my dreams. I ordered an Old Fashioned and it was possibly the best Old Fashioned I've ever had! Had to get another one because it was so smooth. I also ordered the chicken gyro which was great. The atmosphere is very cozy and hip and the staff are attentive and very diligent. All in all fabulous experience. Can't wait to go back and try their other cocktails (and sit on their patio)!

Couldn’t be happier with this place, great vibes and a lot of care put into the food and drinks. Everything was delicious and high quality but particular favourites are the mint julep, apple pie old fashioned and burrata 👌🏽 it’s a real treat for people who are serious about their drinks too!

What sweet people & what great food! I called to place a takeout order, which they do not do, however they were kind enough to make a one time exception. Shoutout Bre! I ordered the sliders (chicken, tri tip, & brisket) and they were all fantastic! The vibe looked great and I would definitely stay for a drink next time.

Went here for drinks with friends recently, and this place was great! Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior, this place is one of the top whiskey bars in the country. We couldn't believe the selection. Staff were also super friendly. They really made our night.

The sliders were great. Was pleased with the beer selection (they also have hard ciders!). The service was spectacular - Bree (sp?) was amazing.

Good drinks, but a bit crowded. The say they'll put tables outside soon, and that will be great. When the space is full it's kinda loud, but again, really good drinks!

Met up with some friends and had some barley wine beer, which hadn't been around for awhile. Quite tasty. The service was cordial and quick, with a nice atmosphere. Definitely would return!

The outdoor space is lovely, definitely well set up for small groups and you can relax there in relatively fresh air for hours. The staff is friendly (a touch slow but attentive) and food is pretty good Also have a huge whiskey selection. The cocktails... we gotta talk about these. I've been here a few times and everytime same result: they do the classics well enough, but the originals are simply not up to snuff. I want to like this place and the drinks sound good on paper, someone on staff clearly has a creative instinct, but execution is just poor. The smoked drinks don't have smokey flavors, glassware frequently doesn't match the pour, too much ice, and often the ingredient ratio/flavor balance is off putting. Unasked advice to management: keep everything else the same, do fewer original cocktails (they have many on menu) and spend more time honing them.

Food is mainly flatbreads and BBQ sandwiches from Slow Hand down the street, but with about one-third as much meat. There was literally more cabbage and mayo on my sandwich than brisket. The first time we visited, we were shocked at how bad the service was, but thought it must be a fluke or just a bad night. We made the mistake of coming two more times with a group of friends only to experience consistently horrendous service. For the price point charged here, there are far superior places to go to in the immediate area.

As of today they have no chicken wings and no mango. Not sure what going on but I didn’t feel welcomed. I won’t be back.

I’ve been there twice in the last 2 months, and the bad service happened again! No one acknowledged us for 15–20 minutes after we were seated. From the already limited food options, they were out of nachos and quesadillas. The staff seemed irritated. Very surprising for such a nice-looking bar. Go to downtown Walnut Creek instead—until the management improves here.

Come for the drinks, DO NOT come for the food. Spent probably $60 on food getting a variety of things and they were consistently terrible. The wings (pictured) were either boiled or microwaved which made them a slimy mess, and the visual of the discount carrot sticks speaks for itself. The butter chicken tacos I was particularly excited about, but they were so bland, I suspect it was frozen dinner butter chicken. One of the most expensive, disappointing meals I've had in a while.

I knew something was wrong when we walked in the place it was so dark and then, I guess she was a waitress ! she came over with an attitude and we tried to order some food, told her we never been there before she didn't care so she brought the food, some sliders, at the time we thought they were good and then about an hour and a half later I had to go straight to the bathroom and my wife in the morning has a bad stomach what a terrible place this is I recommend avoiding this place.

I’m visiting on vacation, but tonight I was discriminated against for being foreign. The staff refused to accept my valid Argentine identification and denied me entry. It’s disappointing to experience this kind of treatment while simply trying to enjoy a night out.
