Love Cafe Maya in Wappinger and Maya Cafe in Fishkill. Consistently fresh amazingly delicious salsa quac and food preparations. My favorite? Chicken chili relano (sp?). Sooooo delish. If you crave the finest Mexican cuisine THIS is your place in the Hudson Valley !

The most delicious authentic Mexican food in the area! Great staff and I like that you will catch the friendly owner there almost every time! Two locations make it easy to stop in whenever I'm craving my favorite enchiladas and their homemade sour cream, which is to die for! Everything from the salsa and chips to their tableside guacamole is made in house and you can really taste the difference with how fresh it is! Plus, you can enjoy live music on the weekends without feeling like you're eating in the middle of a noisy club or bar!

The best Mexican restaurant! We come here quite frequently and always have great service and food. The fajitas and burritos are amazing, and so are the margaritas. We always order the table side guacamole and my kids can’t eat it fast enough!

Went here for a late lunch after NYC traffic court and a train ride back home to sanity. Menu was very interesting; I had the pulled pork tacos. Oh.My.God. Also sampled the white sangria- and I will need a designated driver for my next visit so I can do more than "sample"- gotta be responsible! I travel with a service dog; BIG bonus points for giving my dog a bowl of water.

My colleagues and I have been going here for years for a holiday party and the food is always good, the staff are very good at service and very courteous, and the price for a family-style spread is decent and the food excellent. We love the decor, location and atmosphere and we love returning year after year for fun.

Cafe Maya and Maya Cafe are by far the best Mexican restaurants in the area! My favorite dish is the sour cream chicken enchiladas! They also give you unlimited salsa and chips! The lunch prices are also especially great for the amount you get, and the dinner prices are also great as well! Highly recommended! :)

Portions are a nice size! We share guacamole and order the Maya Sampler. We never leave hungry and get one lunch for the next day!!

If you have not eaten here before do yourself a favor and eat here!!! The food is amazing and whatever you order you will not be disappointed. Let me just say the chips and salsa are out of this world! Always fresh and the salsa is so authentic that you can taste the cilantro, garlic, peppers, tomatoes and trust me once you start you can’t stop. If you like tacos, burritos, chimichangas, rice and beans then you will absolutely love every single other dish on their menu. I have tried many dishes here and again the flavors are absolutely on point. The drinks are one of the best drinks I’ve had in the area, plenty of liquor and not too sweet and made with real limes. And last but not least the hot sauce that they make in the back is so good, spicy but the flavors are like no hot sauce I’ve ever had. This place really is the best food in the Hudson valley and you will not be disappointed. The staff is friendly and extremely hard working and they will make your dinning experience pleasant and you will wanna come back for more.

Incredible staff, well-managed awesome ambience. Oh did I mention the food? The food is amazing, so much flavor and the portions are more than enough and more than a bang for your buck. Can't say enough good things about this place will definitely be a loyal customer for life.

I have been here previously but this is the first time I have ordered takeout. Both my wife and I were in the mood for good Mexican take out food and had always enjoyed dining here. We ordered by phone, 2 beef fajita dinners. We were told it would be ready in 20 minutes and in fact it was ready in that time. It was a 15 minute ride home so the food was cooling down, nonetheless it was still very tasty and the portions were very large. We could have shared one. The fajitas came with all of the regular accompaniments, guac, beans, rice, soft wraps, cream, salsa and chips. A tasty and hassle free experience. This is the first place I recommend when asked about Mexican food.

Our dinners were delicious. The service was good. We enjoyed our sangria, which was on the sweet side. The only downside is that it's very loud. They should turn the music down. Nevertheless, we all had a wonderful time. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great place to eat and drink! Guacamole is fresh and amazing - they make it right in front of you. I've eaten there a number of times and everything is always great. It's a fun atmosphere for any kind of night out. Kid friendly as well.

Tonight I was craving fajitas so I called for take out. I ordered the shrimp, steak, and chicken with all the fixings. So I went to pick it up, place was relatively packed, and the young lady was very nice. I get home and I received the wrong order. I guess they do all vegetable fajitas as well. I called back and explained what happened and was offered to go back and switch the order so I did. I don't live far so it wasn't a big deal. Not only were they apologetic, but they gave me everything when I was only expecting the one order. Excellent customer service and the food is delicious as I'm writing this review. Thanks again and I'll definitely return.

Wappingers Location is where I go. Love it!! The kitchen guys here are so accommodating! My favorite is the Chili Relleno and I add chicken AND cheese inside. NO OTHER PLACE DOES THIS!!! I'm a cheese girl and I will always come back here just for the Chili Relleno. I drive over an hour so believe me, it's REALLY YUMMY! Great Chips and Salsa

Went to the Maya Cafe for lunch. The food was great but the service was a little off that day. I'm going to chalk it up to there being a large party there. There was no wait at all (because it was a Monday night) the service was good and speedy the food was amazing. I did find it to be a bit pricey,but because we all loved our dinner so much it was well worth it. We will definitely go back.

The food was excellent. Our waiter (dressed as a pirate tonight) could not have been more attentive. I had a toddler with me and he was able to get the child’s food out in just minutes. (for which I was grateful.) The only reason I didn’t give it five stars... I felt it could have been a bit cleaner. Worth going to again and again!

Visited during pandemic and sat outside under a tent. Nothing fancy , even my mango Margarita was looking boring, but still tasty. I've always been satisfied with my food from here, but wasn't up to their standards the day we went. Chips were stall, food was ok, but nothing to rave about at all. It truthfully tasted like reheated food. I've always loved this place, so this setback won't turn me away. We will try again after this pandemic goes away.

It's OK. I'm not an expert on Mexican food so to me you can get a better lunch deal elsewhere. However they do have a very nice patio and the food and service is always solid.

Disappointed. I have been a customer for a long time, and my favorite dish is the Tacos de Camarones. I checked the menu and it was still there - corn tortillas fried to be lightly crispy, grilled shrimp with black beans, Pico, served with plantains (maduro) - it is lovely. It's worth paying $20 for tacos, with all the prep that went into them. But last night I was served deep fried shrimp with some cabbage in flour tortillas. I was a little confused, I assumed I had misordered, but when I got the bill I was indeed charged for the dish I thought I ordered. It was a little crushing. I don't go out to dinner lightly. I can cook a bland meal myself, thank you. I feel that, if a restaurant changes their offerings, they must update the menu. I had 2 of 3 tacos and my stomach rebelled against the deep fried food. There was almost no taste to it. I didn't want it, so I felt a little sad. Why not send it back? I'm not fluent in Spanish but I ordered in Spanish, so I thought it was my mistake, and I didn't want to cost the restaurant money sending something back if I had caused the error. However, that wasn't the case. I am seeing this in other restaurants these days - substitution of lower quality or different things on the menu with the expectation that the guest will just go with it. Maybe it's because of the disruption caused by COVID-19? But, from now on, I won't trust Maya to follow their menu. I need to ask in advance, like an attorney. And, that's a hassle I don't really want.

I will give a three because the service was good the hostess was very friendly and the server was very sweet also and everyone was attentive I sat on the patio because it was a nice cool night so you were losing one star because you allow people to smoke right next to the patio so my entire meal I had to breathe in cigarette smoke, for this reason I will not return to this restaurant You're losing the other star because the chicken in my chicken tacos was disgusting it tasted like plain white chicken almost like something you would buy pre-cooked out of a freezer section at a grocery store it was absolutely zero seasoning on it the tacos did not come with any type of sauce or marinade they were just dry and bland.

I was told to go to this one in Wapperings Falls instead of the Fishkill location which I absolutely love. Well, first the entrance was kinda confusing because the way the parking lot is setup with headed towards the salon next door because of where we parked. Once we got inside the place has a very restaurant bar feel which is great with a couple of Spanish/Mexican decor, again great. We had plenty of sitting which is awesome compare the the fishkill location so were not packed in which is perfect for me and my mom who are big girls. However the food is very expensive and good but not the kind of food I was excepting from the Fishkill location ( My mom had a skirt steak which tasted great but was cooked well done not medium rare like she asked and I had the pork with rice and bean on a hot skillet which was awesome until some of the grease popped me) And then there was my sons food...$10 for so dry ass french fries and Tyson Chicken Nuggets which he did not even eat because the chicken nuggets felt freezer burn and hard. Very disappointed with his meal and he LOVES chicken nuggets. But enjoyed our meal which came to about $70 between 3 people with drinks. So save yourself some time and go to the one in Fishkill if you want some amazing Mexican.

The food was okay. In my opinion, the food did not have a complex enough flavor to it. I was expecting my taste buds to explode with excitement, however I was not impressed. Neither was I disappointed at the same time because the portion size was good. I got a chicken burrito BTW. I haven't tried anything else from there. I might give it a second chance and update my review accordingly

Overpriced for the quantity and quality of food served. You would think that when ordering beef tacos you would have steak served, not ground beef. I was also disappointed I'm the fact that this places does not make their own tortillas. Will not reorder but my nephews liked it. Only reason I'm giving it 3 stars.

Food awesome! Waiter awesome, got the bill.... paid $16 for a typical 16oz. Cup filled with ice, margarita, no extra flavor nothing .... no where did it say$16 for this drink!!!! My better calmer half goes inside to inquire and the waiter is like wait let me get a "free" one... I would have been ok with that..... then the Mgr came out like no! This is what it is.. so sad because the food and staff were great, will never go back and will tell everyone I know all of this! I live locally.... shame on them!

Friend took me here for a bday lunch... otherwise I would have complained and taken pics. Ordered the steak enchiladas lunch special. They use a canned cheese sauce instead of real melted cheese. Never again will I eat here. There is much better in the area. Used to like this place ..never again.

Half and half. My meal was quite good, the shrimp special with avocado and fruit. My husband's tacos were not...the meat was dripping in grease. Fortunately they took his off the bill, but will likely not be back again.

The hostess for the mostest with the fake bright red hair was definitely very disrespectful. Horrible Service to start there is two location in which we thought we placed a reservation for this one but happen to be in the other. They were still able to seat us considering no one was there the waitress rolled her eye when we told her 12 ppl and was obviously annoyed, the girl in the front even realized she was annoyed and said she could help her out. At the end of our meal she proceed to give us the bill and say it's to late at night for us to spit it before we even said anything about the check. Instead of asking us how we were going to pay or offer to split the bill. We told her that we all had card she said that's fine and proceed to say her register would not let her break the check which was obviously a lie. As we were all trying to figure out the bill she was sitting in the corner laughing with the other women who work there. After we paid the bill she than proceeds to make a comment as we walk out oh did they actually pay. She was blatantly rude after we spent 300. The food was great but the experience was so bad I will never go back.

The service at the bar was great! Went for a drink after work with friends! The food however was very expensive and my meal was dry. I ordered the beef tacos and the shells were soggy, meat dry and had no flavor. Would not recommend and would not go back.

The food, as always was great. Nothing was disappointing, including the drinks. The service was equally pleasing. However, outside, in the parking lot, I witnessed 2 workers doing some shady business in, what looked like, an abandoned building next door. Not only that, one of them brought something out from that building back into the kitchen, covered in a dirty rag, hiding it from view. The second worker held a pitcher of water, hiding behind the door of the abandoned looking building, then, after a few minutes, walked it back into the kitchen, where everyone's food is prepared and served. Extremely shady and unprofessional. Basically, I can't unsee this and def won't go back.

Horrendous service, our server was seen having two separate 15 min conversations with another table AFTER they had finished their meal; unfortunately we had to request help from multiple other servers. In addition, we had to order our drinks three times before they were actually brought out to our table and never received two of our appetizers that we ordered. To make matters worse, I suffered from food poisoning that lasted the next 2 days. I’ve been to this establishment a handful of times before and can honestly say I will never return. A $150 dollar bill seemed absolutely ridiculous for the quality of service and food that we received.

#1 this place is over priced I paid about $25 for 3 tacos and some beans + rice #2 Where the hell is the meat in my tacos ? Little tiny piece of meat and over filled with fillings of tomatoes completely buried the meat ??? #3 Why would I ever come here again ??? to get rippped off ??? The place is so dark inside that you need to break out your flashlight incase you might trip on a table...sheesh

I have eaten here before and was very satisfied. Today was a different story. Our service was poor, the cheese enchilada with grilled steak was poor. The pieces of steak were all burnt, the cheese covering the enchilada tasted like cheese wiz. We ordered a fried ice cream. We were served an ice cream Sunday. Not fried ice cream. It will be a long time before I return to this place for a meal.

Chips and salsa was the best out of everything. Soft tacos were terrible. Seemed like the flour tortillas were microwaved. No Browning or lines. Chimichanga came out in 3 smaller pieces. Never at any other restaurant I've ever been served the like this. Service wasn't great either our waitress never came back to check on us. Safe to say there are too many Mexican restaurants around I'd never step back in here.

I took my husband here for his birthday last weekend and we walked right out. It was our first time there and we were very disappointed. We were seated right away because it wasn't busy. We sat at our table for approximately 10 mins, NO one ever brought us water or took our food order. I was so upset that we got up and walked out... with no intentions of ever going back.
