From start to finish, this dining experience was exceptional. My husband and I has a date night in one of the igloos last weekend and it felt like a winter wonderland. The igloo itself was high quality, warm, and cozy. We got our own bluetooth speaker inside so played our own playlist making it more special and intimate. We started with drinks, and every single one was spot-on: a perfectly balanced Old Fashioned, a rich and smooth Espresso Martini, and we shared a bottle of red wine that paired beautifully with our meal. The food... WOW...out of this world! Every dish was seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. He had the Anugs Ribeye which was phenomenal! It was perfectly seared, savory, and tender. I had the Tomahawk Pork Chop, which I was told was a staple at Van Acre and I realized very quickly why. It was juicy, flavorful, and expertly cooked. The Doory County cherry glacé really put it over the top for me. We shared part of the "Farm" brick oven pizza, but had so much good food that we had to take the other part home. It was jam packed with high quality meats and cheese and I savored every bite. When we heated it up the next day we wished we had more ordered more! Our server alone would be a reason to come back! Marsha was extremely kind, and made us feel welcomed and well cared for. She was attentive and knowledgeable every step of the way. She is a true gem! Would highly recommend Van Acre. My husband and I keep saying how it is one of our best and most memorable dining experiences! We immediately booked another reservation in March so that we could bring our friends and family to have the same wonderful experience we did

First time visiting and excellent experience. The food was really good. We had short rib and the fig pizza. The crust on the pizza was exceptional. What really stood out was professional attentive and friendly staff. Natalia was our server and she was a gem.

Had two excellent meals here. Wonderful atmosphere (at the bar) and very cool open concept kitchen. Wings, salmon, and burger (local butcher meat) were all stellar. Zero complaints and was so good the first night that I went back the second out of two nights in town. All the staff were great, particularly Logan and Moriah (hope I spelled that right). Thank you both. And manager Ryan is running a great restaurant. Will look forward to another meal here soon, arroz con pollo is next on the list ;)

First visit to Van Acre. Alexis took excellent care of our table. Our cocktails and dinner were excellent. "She" had the Sea Bass - delicious and perfect, served over cuscus. "He" had the Salmon - delicious and perfectly prepared. Note- it would be more comfortable at the "6 high top" if the bucket stools swiveled.

I had a very nice experience here. When the food was lacking, the management really stepped up to remediate the issue. That is why Van Acre is getting 5 stars from me. What I ordered: 🍗Chicken wings - Unbelievably good; a must try. 🧀Brisket Queso: tasty 🥗Van Acre Salad: refreshing and savory 🥩Filet: had good flavor, but it was tough and slightly overcooked beyond medium rare 🥩Ribeye: Again, good flavor but slightly overcooked and tough to chew 🍰Spiced Banana Cake: A delicious ending to a good meal. For the main entrees, I believe the quality is normally better than what was served. I will be coming back to try more!

I love everything about Van Acre and can't say enough good things. It's become our favorite go-to dinner date place. Everything from the atmosphere to the service and food is incredible every single time. We drive 1.5 hours to eat here often and I highly recommend it, even if it's a ways away, it will be worth your time!

We were here for an igloo experience for a friend’s birthday. Everything was so lovely! Roberts service was top notch, especially with explaining dishes/items on the menu. We got the smoke plate, cheese curds and a charcuterie board. There were so many things to choose from on them and it was all great. We did not have to wait long for our entrees, even if we did it wouldnt be a big deal because WOW! The tomahawk pork chop had excellent flavor and it literally melted in your mouth. Ive never had pork that tender. The ribeye was large and cooked to a perfect medium, all marbled and flavorful - no gristle. The sides were tasty and the cocktails were top notch. The desserts were delightful. We live far away, but Ill be looking forward to going back.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary with our first visit to Van Acre—and we were absolutely blown away. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was exceptional, the staff (especially our waitress Carley) was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was both elegant and inviting. We began with a couple of drinks and the brussels sprouts appetizer, which were perfectly crisp and full of flavor. For our main courses, my husband enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak pizza, while I savored the ribeye—cooked to perfection. We ended the evening with the crème brûlée, which was rich, creamy, and simply unforgettable. We both agreed: this was the best dining experience we've ever had. Van Acre has quickly become our favorite restaurant, and we can't wait to return!

Wausau deserves a place like this. Upscale, non-supper club, good vibes with staff that is clearly making effort to give diners an enjoyable experience. However, it is on the pricier side, especially for Wausau. Came for our Anniversary and the front of the house called ahead to see if they could do anything special for the occasion. Also had a card waiting for us at the table. Our server, Jacob was attentive and had good recommendations. We started with the bread service, and drinks - the wife really liked the watermelon spicy margarita. My hazy IPA was just OK - needed citrus IMO. As entrees, we had the salmon and filet. The steak was great and juicy, perfectly cooked, as were the potatoes w/ onions that came with it. Salmon was also flavorful and unique, but the ‘slaw’ on top was a bit wilted and forgettable. Dessert menu is small, but the torte was good, not too sweet and had a nice raspberry compote. Overall very nice and memorable experience.

Restaurants in hotels can be a hit or miss and Van Acre hit the mark. The food was phenomenal, from breakfast to dinner. I’ve had the breakfast buffet twice and they had ample of selection and protein selection were not greasy at all. Phil was very down to earth and accommodating - kudos to him! There was another gentleman who served me (can’t recall the name) and he, too, was very attentive. On to dinner service. Portions were very generous but I can’t say enough on how spectacular the food tasted. Get the smoke plate - the pork belly alone was to die for. This is by far one of the best restaurants in a hotel I’ve ever been with respect to quality of food and phenomenal service by all staff.

Van Acre never disappoints and it has become our go to for a great dinner especially when we have guests in town. Their bar selection is extensive with great rotations. The pizzas are a nice appetizer and we love the lamb, filet, and pork chop. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed!

First time here and came for their brunch buffet. Marsha was our waitress and she was AMAZING! Such a wonderful experience and the entire staff was sweet and attentive. Janet came and checked in on us too! Would love to come back to try their dinner because the buffet was exceptional! 10 out of 10 recommend to anyone.

Sooooo yummy! Great beer... Titletown Johnny Blood Red & 3 Sheeps Veneration. Amazing food... Smoke Plate, Bacon Wrapped Dates, & Farm Brick Oven Pizza for apps. Tomahawk Pork Chop & Acre Burger for main course. And for dessert a scrumptious chocolate cake! We ordered more than we could eat but wanted to order one of everything, so we'll be back. Excellent staff... shout out to Jorden & Carley. They were on top of it! Thx

Impressive, braised short ribs were amazing. Made reservations, on a Monday night we were seated immediately in a booth. The atmosphere is welcoming, and friendly. Our waitress even brought samples of wine for my wife to try. Cannot speak more highly of this upscale restaurant. Highly recommended.

Loved eating in the igloo! It was a fun atmosphere and fit all 8 of us. Food was delicious, would highly recommend for a special night or anniversary. Cheese curds were delish!

Absolute class with best service ever by our waitress, Heidi. Menu choices for breakfast were diverse meeting all of our preferences. Their local bacon, fresh herbs and coffee by Redwood Roasters was a perfect compliment.

Went to the igloos for my birthday and they gave me a hand written birthday card, a very very nice touch. And had Michael as our server for the igloo experience and he was top notch. He jived with our family very well. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and knew 99% of our questions off the top of his head. Food was so good, between the group, we had pizza, ribeye, salads, salmon, Brussel sprouts, and the smoke plate. All phenomenal. Before our reservations in the igloo, we had Logan and Erika at the bar and they were awesome as well. Hoping to have Michael as a server again.

My wife and I recently dined here for our first wedding anniversary. In addition to the food being fantastic (we had the Bacon Wrapped Dates, Tomahawk Pork Chop, and Harissa Chicken), both the hostess and our server knew the reason for our special dinner and made sure to wish us well and acknowledge the special occasion! There was also a congratulatory card from the staff on our table when we arrived. The staff really helped to elevate our experience and make it over the top special. Highly recommend!

Wow experience. Hard to describe but great quality food (had the pork chop and rib eye) and it was perfectly prepared. But, the service is even better, I have not had this caliber experience in years. I think this is the best restaurant in Wisconsin. We will be back, dine here with confidence.

We came here for our 35th anniversary. The experience was awesome. Sean was very accommodating and helpful and informed about the menu. Most places seem to be understaffed at this point in time but the employees here were very pleasant and the service was excellent. The food was above average and we will be back and we will be recommending this restaurant to as many people who ask about a good place to eat. Wausau needs a place like this establishment. The cheese curds were the bomb.

Van Acre is inside the beautiful Hilton Garden Inn. The service is phenomenal. My server, Jordan, was attentive, quick, and as personable as can be. The food is absolutely DYNAMITE. I had the cheese curds, shrimp cocktail, and whole Branzino. The cheese curds are the best I’ve had. They’re like friend pillowy clouds of cheese. They melt in your mouth. Highly recommend. The shrimp cocktail are enormous and super tender. If you like shrimp cocktail this version is tasty and tender. The whole branzino is stuffed and served over cous cous. The fish is cooked to perfection. Just enough charring on the outside, yet the meaty filets stayed nice and tender. The food here is excellent, to put it simply. Atmosphere is top notch. And the service was really spectacular. You’ll def enjoy yourself at the Van Acre and leave satisfied.

I had a wonderful night with my friends tonight. Food and service was amazing. The servers AL and Morgan were kind and wonderful in taking care of a bigger group of 14 people with a lot of patience and diligence. Will absolutely visit again. Thanks guys .

Perfect for a dinner date! My husband and I love the foods that we both picked out! We got the Red Wine Lamb Shank and the Angus Ribeye, and the Smoke plate was fantastic! Server was really nice and explained and guided us about the different type of dishes. Will definitely come again!

I stopped here by chance as I was using the EV charging stations. I was hoping for at least a mediocre hotel dining experience but I was very pleasantly surprised! Excellent service, wonderful food, and an expansive beer/wine/cocktail menu. Very nice, welcoming, and modern ambiance as well. I was even offered a complimentary pour of Blanton’s. Highly recommend!

What gem to have in the Wausau area ! The atmosphere and service were top notch. Even if you are looking for a cocktail or some apps it’s worth the visit. I had the tomahawk pork chop and it was was incredible ! I will definitely be going back.

My fiancé and I went to dinner for his birthday. They did everything to make sure it was perfect. Card, friendly staff, checking in frequently. The waitress and manager were amazing. We will soon be returning for my birthday. Excited to bring my kiddos to experience the igloo!

WOW. Van Acre truly boasts such an exquisite cuisine! The meticulously crafted dishes by outstanding chefs are nothing short of delectable and its' cozy & relaxing ambiance that exudes sophistication, and impeccable service is hard to match. We had breakfast here our first morning at and it was so good that we went back for dinner and it did not disappoint. Our food was amazing (including the bread) and excellent customer service. We were so impressed. Can't wait to go back!

Good environment and staff is very friendly and attentive. Make sure you have reservations if you're going for dinner, they're busy. Had cheese curds which were pretty good and the Farm pizza. Was definitely unique with the cream cheese and brisket.

Some of the BEST dining in Wausau. The new drink menu is absolutely fantastic, I tried the apple spice sazerac and the pumpkin spice expresso martini- wow. You get your money’s worth. The sea bass and fillet were perfect, service and atmosphere were top notch. We also tired the Brussel sprouts and ceasar salad, great portion and again- TOP NOTCH! Management is clearly supporting their staff and staff is preforming above the expectation. We will be back for more!

I stay in a lot of Hilton properties and they don't always have great food. Van Acre surprised me. The space is comfortable with a variety of seating options to suit most guest needs. Service was all-hands-on-deck fast. They have a good wine list paired with a nice menu plus a brick oven

Girlfriend and I got cheese curds and the smoked plate. On the smoked plate, the smoked pork was the best option that I liked. I wish they had a main dish of that. I Got the steak 🥩 they give you the full steak for the price you pay, was fantastic. She got the rabbit and for her first time eating rabbit she loved it. She really enjoyed the salmon dip with the smoked plate too.

Stopped in here after traveling for work, first time Wausau. Natalia was my server and she was phenomenal. The old fashioned was exceptional and their red wine is perfectly chilled. The brussel sprouts were 10/10 and the farm pizza was good too. Will definitely be back when I’m traveling through

Third time eating here and have never been disappointed the smoke plate is the star of the show. I also loved the winter salad and the Cajun salmon! The waitstaff are so attentive and the atmosphere is so cozy. So worth the price.

We had an absolutely magical experience in the new gorgeous igloos last night. The service was outstanding - thank you, Rob! We had the best dinner tonight with our waitress, Natalia & Ryan, the Sommelier!! You can never go wrong here with the Santa Clausmopolitan (Yum & also Beautiful)!! Pick any appetizer...they're all great! We loved the Tomahawk pork chop and Short ribs tonight! Another 5 star review that is WELL DESERVED!

As a spoiled, Chicago diner, I was incredibly impressed. Everything we had was excellent: the charcuterie board that had two huge pieces of pork belly, the cheese, curds, a salad, and the bison lasagna. Oh, and a really good olive oil cake. Really impressed would recommend.

We had an igloo experience last night and it was amazing. So much fun packed into 90 minutes. Moriah was a great server for us. Great company, great tasting food served very timely. The only option is I wish you could split checks in the Igloos. Makes it a pain for couples for sure.

I stayed at the hotel and went down for dinner at 4:30 on a Saturday night. There was one table that was occupied. I asked for a table for one, and was told I could not sit at an actual table until about 8 o’clock, despite there being dozens of open tables. I assume because there were reservations, but not a single table was taken at the time. So I had to sit at the bar, which isn’t my favorite, because I am sober. The food itself was fantastic, as was the service from the bartender. I got the loaded baked potato pizza and the cookies and milk flight. When I was done eating, there were maybe three additional tables that had been sat. To not be able to accommodate one person in an empty restaurant is very bizarre to me.

This is the most amazing hilton resturants around. They have an Argentinian still wood grill and a wood fired pizza oven. The food is great. Everything I tried was prepared perfectly.

Food was very good and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in Wausau. That said, to provide some constructive criticism if anyone cares.... cheese sauce on the Smoke Plate appetizer was grainy, everything was was good on the plate though. The Half Chicken was meh, this and leg were good but breast was very dry and the blueberry sauce was not great. I will try something else next time. The chairs are very small and tight, need more comfortable chairs when not everyone can sit in a booth. The cheese curds were phenomenal and I'd wager the best I've ever had and I've tried a lot of places. Waitress was very nice and friendly

Food is good, atmosphere is OK for a hotel bar, but I just popped in at 4:45 and asked for a table for four, they told me 830 is the soonest they could seatbus. Take a look at the picture and make up your own mind about that. Don't waste your time trying to pop in for some food and a drink on the weekend here, because apparently you can't. Wow, that was a ridiculous conversation to ha e with the hostess, all but 3 tables were completely empty.
