WISH - Wisconsin Steak House

First time at Wish and it won’t be our last. Friday night offerings didn’t disappoint. Haddock fish fry batter was not greasy. Lemon baked fish was 60% lemony flavoring. A little much for the person that ordered it. The panko crusted walleye was very good. Sides were all excellent- Brussel sprouts done to perfection, asparagus was prepared just right as were the twice baked potatoes, according to the people that had them at our table. We didn’t have the cheese curds but each order that passed by us looked so tasty and smelled tempting. And, if you order dessert (we didn’t), they are huge! Again, we saw them being carried out. Only negative was that our waitress was new and when we asked about menu items she wasn’t really sure. She also didn’t offer suggestions, we had to ask for things like kinds of salad dressing or sides options, etc. You will want to plan for a bit of time, which makes sense for a nice dinner out, but the food took a bit to arrive. Overall, it was a very good experience, atmosphere and the food was tasty. We will be back!

Wish has been my favorite restaurant for years. I can always count on getting the highest quality food and it's worth every cent. Shout out to Chef's Wish Foodtruck!! I recommend the cheesesteak sandwich and any soup he may be offering.

Delicious food. We started with the crab stuffed mushrooms. YUM! The ribeye was perfect and the grilled asparagus went with it so well.

Great birthday meal for my girlfriend and myself. Excellent food and presentation. Our waitress, Jenny, was great, knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Sadly the last day for our server who was great. I had the Walleye special with the twice baked potato. It was fantastic. The White Peach Sorbet tasted more of honey than peach. My colleagues had various beef dishes which were all cooked to order and were tasty. Highly recommend Wish Steakhouse for a nice dinner

I wore a T-shirt and shorts and the staff still treated us as royalty. The food is phenomenal and the steak was cooked to perfection. It’s the place for a Wisconsin old fashion and a great meal.

Soo SOOOOO Delicious. This Lil hidden gem is worth every red dime. I had a marbled ribeye that was cooked absolutely perfect. The drinks were tasty and the service was 5 star. Definitely don't miss this place if you're in town.

Fantastic food! Wait staff is very well spoken and knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients. Excellent salmon, ribs and 5 Mac...melts in your mouth! Desserts...Crem Brulee and Butterscotch Budino pudding....so yummy!!

Absolutely amazing place to dine!! The Old Fashions were the best, burnt pork belly- topnotch. Also got the stuffed mushrooms. Split a salad and the appetizers with my Husband and then got the Filet Minion and New York strip, both great but the New York Strip was my favorite.

Enjoyed fabulous steak dinners last night at WISH! Our bartender, Heather, was friendly and attentive. Drinks were delicious! Sydney was our server. She was a delight! Very professional and personable! Look forward to our next visit. WISH never disappoints!

We were visiting the area from out of town. This place has AMAZING food and AMAZING drinks!!! The best old fashioned that I have had in a long time! Had the ribeye and twice baked potato. Then for desert we had an ice cream drink. That too was AMAZING!! The atmosphere was peaceful and calming. Our waiter, Kyle was truly amazing! We had some good laughs with him!!

Very nice place for a relaxing meal. The amount of Calamari you get with an order is enough for two people. The serloin stake was perfectly done.

This was our first time at Wish. Very Good!! We had Rib eye with mushrooms and Asparagus and Walleye with roasted carrots. Exceptional. Also shared the Butterscotch Budino. So good. Our server, Becca was exceptional. We so appreciated the knowledge of all the menu items that we asked about. Very attentive. Thank you for great service.

Came in on vacation from Milwaukee. Great atmosphere, staff and the steaks were great! Only suggestion would be to add a steak to the kids menu!

My Shrimp Scampi great! Fresh corn from cob. Cut off cocc. Delicious! 4 gals had 1/2 rack ribs. There were not hot/ just warm. The meat was tough. Wish gave those gals $5 off their meals. 1 gal had walleye, very good. Choice of sides were very good. Id go again. Not sure I'd get steak or ribs. But shrimp was great

Rebecca took care of our table, she is super attentive, polite and kind. She made sure that our plates were at our satisfaction. We enjoyed dinning at Wish. We recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed. We had some delicious calamari, ribs, roasted cauliflower, chopped salad. Everything was well prepared and delicious.

This place had a great atmosphere and the food was great. We went on a Saturday and I had the ribs. BEST RIBS EVER! This place is pretty pricey but if you are going for a special occasion, order one of the specials, and like a meal worth your money then this place definitely is one you want to try. Remember: you get what you pay for. We went in a group and had to make a reservation.

The experience here is perfect. The staff are very friendly, respectful and professional. The food is also perfect here. I have been here twice and both times have been nothing but perfect. Our drinks were always full as well. The servers do a fantastic job here. Some people may say the food is pricey, but the food is so delicious and the s3rving amount justifies the price. I highly recommend this place, especially if you want steak better than Texas Roadhouse. hah hah

Really friendly enthusiastic service, lots of specialls that take advantage of seasonal produce. Good side choices, even better upgraded side choices. Really excellent shrimp scampi! Slightly salty twice baked potato but it was definitely house made and had tons of creamy cheese. We will come again to try more dishes as long as one of us always gets the scampi! Reservations strongly recommended.

Excellent food and wonderful service from Cindy. House made pickles were great. The only thing we had problems with was with the online reservation system and phoning the restaurant. Eventually got through to them via FB messenger.

The wish steakhouse lives up to the name. You will wish to return as quickly as possible for a second visit once you have tasted the exquisite food. The cheese curds are light, and melted in your mouth. The steak was cooked to perfected, marbled perfectly and the sides bring the taste to the forefront of your soul. You pay an equal price for both quality and quantity and you will not leave wanting, except maybe a bigger budget to spent here. The staff are pleasant, fast and revisit often without overstating their welcome. If your in the wasau area for datenight, or a time out with friends.

Love that they had sprecher on tap! The food was okay... Everything was over salted. Or maybe it was the wet rub...either way, to salty.

Food was good, but small portions for the price. Steaks did not come with a salad, and only one side. Fish came with one side and salad. Salad was quite small. You had to ask for rolls, they don't just bring them out. And they are quite small. For the price, I don't think the food was worth it. Service was fantastic though.

Food was OK. Salmon was overcooked and so was the steak for the price. I expected more. He also had a loud table next to us that did not help.

Ordered a NY strip steak for 60.00. It was the size of my hand and there was a lot of grizzle on it. It did not taste good at all. The fries and soup were the only thing that were good. The bar tender was Awesome, very friendly and kind. I don’t usually put bad reviews, but this was ridiculous . The waitress we had had no personality.

I was the only one in our group of nine that did not have steak. The people that had steak were greatly satisfied. I, on the other hand figured that they didn't know how to cook chicken, it was browned very nicely and looked very appetizing but was hard to cut and on the dry side.

I recently dined at Wish for the second time, hoping for an improved experience. While the scallops and asparagus were well-prepared and enjoyable, the lobster bisque was unfortunately average. It lacked the lobster lumps often used as garnish, which would have helped to elevate the flavor. Unfortunately, my date was underwhelmed by his 6 oz filet and twice-baked potato, which didn’t live up to expectations. The food was good, but not special. Despite the decent food, the service and ambiance were lacking, which made it difficult to fully appreciate the meal. While I wanted to like this place more, the consistent shortcomings in service and atmosphere make it hard to justify a return visit.

Overall i was not impressed with this establishment. My wife and I go out every Saturday night for a date night so we frequent a lot of different restaurants. When I made the reservation I told the person that it was a special date night as we were celebrating our anniversary and it was a fancy dress up date night. When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted and shown to a table right away. what surprised me was that no mention was made by the hostess that it was a special dinner date. So we did not care for the atmosphere of this place. It seemed like chain restaurant. the food, once we got it, was very good but the service was very poor. Put it this way it took us 1 hour and 27 minutes to get our food and nine minutes to eat it. Our server rarely checked in with us as to how we were doing or how the food was. i was not wowed by this restaurant at all. Maybe we just got a bad server or it was just a fluke. we drove an hour to get there. We are going to give it a second change in a few weeks but i don't have high hopes. The place was not that busy at all. The tables are way too close together, request a booth if you can, and the place is very loud. You are in such close proximity to everyone else its hard to hear each other let alone have a private conversation.

Everything about our experience was just okay. We chose WISH hoping for a special place to celebrate my 40th birthday and my mother's upcoming 77th, but unfortunately the evening didn’t meet expectations. We hadn’t dined here in several years and were genuinely looking forward to returning. The atmosphere was still warm and inviting, and the cocktails were solid, but beyond that, much fell short. Our server was cordial but became inattentive toward the end of the meal—we waited nearly 25 minutes for after-dinner drinks. She also didn’t acknowledge or show any enthusiasm about the occasion, making the celebration feel overlooked rather than special. The menu felt dated and in need of a refresh. While the steaks were cooked correctly, they lacked the level of flavor and excitement you would expect at this price point. We left feeling disappointed and fairly certain that, unfortunately, this may be our last visit.

Order picana medium rare. It came out cold, fleshy, and raw. They fixed it but said said oh you don't like medium rare maybe try medium. Next steak over cooked. Medium rare is not cold and fleshy.

We come in every year for the Oshkosh airshow and have a group of 15-20 visit WISH Steakhouse for dinner. It has always been an issue getting reservations in the past and once there seemed like we were a nuisance being a larger group. This year was different, group of 14 called on a Friday afternoon and no problem. There seems to be a reason for that as when we arrived at 6:30 there was only a few cars on the lot and a couple of tables in the dinning room. Servers were great but the food was the issue. I had a ribeye blackened as I have ordered in the past medium rare. The ribeye was so tough and after 3 bites and splitting out 2 of them I informed the server that steak was tough and just take away. She offered to replace with something else but as slow as the kitchen is I knew everyone would have been finished before a replacement would have arrived. After not eating my steak the check arrived with 9.40 discounted off a 96.50 check. My ribeye was 44.00 plus 3.00 blackened, had a baked potato with butter and asked for more butter as all the butter had melted before entree came to table and run into plate. Guess what I got charged 1.00 for a small scoop of extra butter. Really, serve a in editable tough steak with potato for 48.00 and discount 9.40 off. Funny when we were Oshkosh this week went to a Texas Roadhouse and ordered and ribeye at 1/2 the price and was so tender, keep that in mind when you visit WISH, they do not stand behind their meals and their attitude is to bad pay your bill and we do not care if you come back which may have reflected on why the parking lots was empty on a Friday night .

Food was great, wait staff was less so. We were the first people in the resteraunt. It took 40 minutes to get our drinks and appetizer (they literally showed up at the same time). It took over an hour to get our food. We complained. After ordering a second drink at the 1 hour mark, we got it 30 minutes later, after the food was gone and we were impatiently waiting for our bill. Despite our complaint, the waitress seemed clueless. Our complaint did nothing. Didn't make her remember that we existed, and certainly wasn't reflected in our bill. Will not go back.

My husband and I have been long time customers of The WISH. We supported them several times a week during Covid when very few did. Every time you go there you can expect your bill to be $100+. That was ok with us as long as the food is great and I would say that 95% of the time it is wonderful. The problem isn’t the food it is the Chef/Owner. We haven’t been there now for several months because the Chef/Owner told us he didn’t want us there nor did he want our money. My husband ordered a very expensive steak that had quite a bit of grizzle in the center of the steak not the edges. He would take a bite and have to spit it out on his plate several times. He complained and the Chef/Owner came out of the kitchen and threw our credit card at us and told us to leave. This man cannot take criticism and if you look at this situation we were not saying it was improperly cooked it was a bad cut of meat. Not his fault, just a bad supplier. Anyway, we just thought we would let people know so that if they don’t want to get thrown out, don’t complain because he will never agree with you nor will he give you any compensation. He has no business running that restaurant. He is a good Chef but just doesn’t know how to treat his devoted customers.
