The cocktails will get the job done, but the main reason to stop by is to check out the local talent. This is a prime spot to check out up and coming bands (and comedy).
They have some of the best vodka in all Los Angeles and their molotov cocktail is heaven for my taste buds. WILL BE BACK.
Great live music. Saw Tonight’s Sunshine from Tuscan here. They were GREAT!!!
Fantastic place- the comedy shows are bomb and the bar itself is beautiful and the staff always make me feel so welcome ❤️
they have a small music room in the back, which is a cool place to watch some local musicians. Good drinks; gets plenty busy at peak times
Very fun little bar. Excellent staff! Fun live music. Real interesting decor.
Nice place with mixed crowd, either for chilling with friends or feeling like dancing all night. Specialty cocktails are awesome, try The Flame!
Great USSR themed bar, with some killer cocktails. The barman was very friendly, and luckily we attended a burlesque show there. Would recommend 10/10. ✌️
Awesome venue to perform at in West Hollywood. I have had the pleasure of performing here over the past couple years. The sound is always stellar and the staff and patrons are always friendly! Thank you for having me perform!
I came here for my friends birthday after realizing that the bar he had actually planned for was closed for that night. It has both indoor sitting and outdoor sitting and we chose to sit outside. It was pretty chilly night but since they had the outdoor heaters we where pretty comfortable. Drinks where pretty pricey though.
The loveliest atmos of a chill bar to hang out with with delicious cocktails, kind and attentive bartenders and a comfortable vibe. Love
Great cocktails and they do a comedy show every Friday. Would go again.
Played a show here, and everybody was really welcoming and very nice. The drinks were fantastic, they really have something nice here. I recommend.
This is an awesome bar with a great vibe and drinks in the well lit space up front and very good music and moderate amount of people (for a bar) on the dance floor at the back. My favourite drinks: Cucumber Gimlet and The Flame!
One of my favorite places to perform and see amazing indie talent. The sound is always SPECTACULAR. Some of the best sound and mixing at a venue in LA which is so important.
Fun Russian themed bar in West Hollywood. Excellent drinks with great vibes and music. Bartenders were extremely friendly. Definitely definitely would come again
It is impossible not to have a good time at Lubitsch. The dance parties in the back room are epic and free-as-f&%k. Sometimes it's a DJ but you can also catch notable bands and comedians performing there depending on time & date. Best part: it is never a hassle if you want to go out dancing late night or catch a show before dinner. The music and shows are always on point. Every Thursday night they have food on the front patio. Sometimes it's sliders, korean BBQ, tacos- they mix it up. Extremely cost effective if you want to save your $$ for some adult beverages and conscious coupling. The drinks are outstanding. They have infused vodkas and innovative delish cocktails and a diverse badass beer selection. I ain't afraid of a Lagunitas or several. Decor is unparalleled. Film buffs and those into obscuria randomness will get a kick. Everyone there is cool as hell and very good at what they do. Why hang out at a place and give your money to a bartender who acts like a prick? 5 stars for Lubitsch, best Bar/Club in WeHo.
One of my go to bars in LA. Reasonable prices and polite people working the front door, as well as bartenders.
I went with my Russian girlfriend and she loved the Russian themed decor. We also drank like half the cocktail menu, and everything was very tasty. The live music in the back and comedy show after we're also very cool. All in all, it's a great spot
Very fun bar with lots of young people. It's a casual bar with some seating in the front portion and a dance lounge in the back that is always jam packed. Great drinks and attractive bar tenders. There's also a little outdoor patio that's usually filled with smokers. There usually isn't much a wait to get in which is a plus.
Interesting Russian themed spot with lots of vodka choices and cocktail options. Free entertainment of various types depending on day of week. Great free comedy show on Friday's starting at 8 in back room. Becomes a dance bar after 9:30 or so on weekend evenings, drawing a primarily under 30 patron - it can get a bit rowdy and super crowded. Weeknights offer a slightly older, more subdued crowd.
A Russian themed vodka focused bar with a few beers available as well. The front of house is relatively calm and nice with music. Later in the evenings there is a DJ and dancing in the back and a lot of fun. The music has always been good when I've been there, a good mix of 2000s songs.
WFNM events on Thursday nights are fantastic; BL is great venue to showcase new and up and coming talent. Bartender up front is speedy and friendly!
Really cool vibe~ and loved the $5 photobooth (thought they would overcharge more). Got to see some local talent- shout out to PARKWILD performing there.
Bar Lubitsch is one of them spots we go to for a fun night out. I want to say it's got a 1920's Russian theme going on which is super unique and elevated. Drinks are good and dance floor is bumping!
Didn't know what I was going to expect when I first got there, but I was definitely not disappointed! This bar has a very specific look to it, and is incredibly cool. The art style is very reminiscent of cold war era USSR styling. (Lots of tile, red, globe lighting) They have a room in the back for live music, and it's very stylish. The furniture seems to be at least 100 years old, but still functional and appropriate. My friends and I had a very fun time here, and the drinks were reasonably priced and delicious. I would love to come back here again.
Bianca is the best ever, her drinks and customer service is unmatched
Great bar with a cool vibe. The space has multiple rooms, I went to hang at the front bar. The bartenders are great.
This bar is great! Never had a problem, the manager/owner is always at the front door greeting people and being super respectful. Music and vibes are always immaculate too. We consider this bar ole reliable.
Neat place! Should attract a bigger crowd than it does. Quite small inside, but a decent selection of shorts and a slightly smaller collection of beers. However, some of the beer comes in cans so it's nice to feel like a student again. My one complaint: my bartender last night (Friday 8/24), who I must say was absolutely stunning and I was planning on chatting her up at some point, suggested a few beers to me and I opted for the IPA, which was delicious. She did not mention that it was 7% and I had six or seven of them, resulting in myself being FAR too drunk to chat anyone up. Great night.
I was contemplating between 4 and 5 stars, but here are my reasons I gave it 5 stars. 1. The bartenders are fast and great, this isn't a bar you wait around too long to get serviced, even when they are slammed. 2. The decore is unique and fun. 3. They have great specialty drinks, if you love spicy make sure to order The Flame. The only reason I was thinking of giving it 4 stars was the seating is very limited, and if you are seated the seats aren't too comfortable. But after a few drinks that doesn't matter 😉
Came early on a weekday so there was a small crowd but the bartenders talked to us and were super friendly. The drinks were also delicious. The decor was pretty cool too. I need to go back to see how it is at night to get the full experience but it's definitely a place I'd go again
Cute bar with a really fun prohibition era vibe! Bianca the bartender is always on point and so sweet! I’m here once or twice a month for the really fun themed drag and burlesque shows in the back ‘speakeasy’ style area!
This is a small bar, but there is entertainment in the room next door so it all depends on the kinda night you wanna have. Went here for my birthday, emailed in advance to reserve a table in the front room for my friends at no cost! It was such a good decision, gave us a break from the dancing in the back room and a chill place to hang out with a drink and have fun!
Great bar , they have a very cool back area. This review is based on an event i went to. So the back area was all set up nice. i love the vibe and didn’t know they had a back area. the front seems like a regular bar until you see the seating in the back. i uploaded a video of our friend starting the presentation but you’ll see the backs vibe and lighting is good. overall i think it’s worth a visit.
Very interesting atmosphere. Live music was beyond praise! I recommend visiting!!!
I do not usually visit bars, but an amazing friend was singing at Bar Lubitsch, and invited me. Tucked into a russian district of West Hollywood, Bar Lubitsch is where classic turn of the twentieth century refinement meets modern day comfort. named after revered film maker Ernst Lubitsch, Bar Lubitsch aspires to raise the level of the bar experience, just as Ernst Lubitsch did for the cinematic experience with his "Lubitsch touch". As you enter the bar, there is an outdoor patio. This was the perfect place to gather with friends. Upon entering, you have the bar area. Further inward, there is a room, also with a bar, where concerts and dancing are held. The people here are welcoming, artistic, and fun. If you have the chance, stop by.
Kind staff, clean place, great drinks. The cocktail menu is all vodka and about $14-16 each, however they have plenty of other liquors and beers. The Mozoltov cocktail (in photo) was very tasty! They had a photo booth and a DJ starting at 10 on the weekends with great dancing music.
Very cool Soviet era decorations. We went to the Friday night comedy show which did not disappoint. Huge vodka selection.
Great place with a cool chill atmosphere. They also have great live music nights

B the bartender really set the vibe for our evening - she welcomed us in with warm energy, great drink recommendations, and awesome suggestions for how to spend our evening. She was attentive and helped us explore the menu in a very approachable and not pushy way. We can’t wait to come back and hope B is in a position to train other staff on service and drink menu items. No notes!
Great place to meet friends for a few drinks and lounge for the night. Place is gorgeous on the inside and bar staff is friendly.

Cool dive bar, always smells like spilled beer and a ridiculous amount of people crammed, service is rapid and mediocre
Fun causal bar with dance lounge in the back. They take rsvp (free) for the tables. Gets PACKED back there on wknds. DJ spun hip hop 2003-2005 music.
The bar is great but if you're looking for a great DJ go somewhere else. You can't even request songs here cause theres a sign by the DJ saying that.
Great cocktails. Bartenders very solid. Did I mention the great selection of bands? Nice intimate venue, yet you can step out into another room and have a conversation
Good spot for a drink. Prices are what they are. $10 a drink. But they have a comedy night that's pretty great. Small room. This place can get packed and it's a small bar, so I prefer getting there earlier as a place to start the night
Hip bar in West Hollywood that’s broken up into three sections: outdoor smoking area in front, bar with booth and stool seating when you walk in, and a small performance venue/dance floor in the back. Back room gets super crowded on the weekends when there’s a DJ. Generally young crowd under 35.
Great atmosphere. The secret to this little Soviet-esque bar on Santa Monica isn't its great little patio out front. No, the back room has live music almost every weekend. Talent of almost all types play there, from punkers to crooners. Decent beer selection, fast bartenders and a couple good cocktails make this a great evening just south of Hollywood.
Typical cocktail prices for LA — ~$15 a cocktail. The Flame was actually spicy (spoken as a person with a considerable spice tolerance). Great music and atmosphere. Cocktails overall were (I thought) somewhat mediocre.
Cool spot with a dark vibe. I felt like I could spend hours there. There's also a venue in the back that hosts occasional events, when it's not just being used as an extension of the bar. Vodkas are top notch at Lubitsch - exactly as you'd expect. Grab yourself a drink and kick back.
This is probably one of the best dance bars in Weho. There is a back room which always has a crowded dance floor during the weekend with the DJ playing Top 40 records all night. During the weekdays the bar sometimes hosts for well known stand-ups with a cover under ten dollars.
Went for a stand-up comedy, which was great! A bit disappointed with the drinks, bit too much on a sweet side and less alcoholic. Friendly bar stuff and doorman!
Nice bar. Smoking out front. Good sound system. Beautiful, attentive bartenders. Easy to street park out front or nearby. Cocktails, bottled beer & vodka -- imaginative place.
Great place but didn't have no food or snacks. But the drink was amazing. I recommend the Flame...spicy bt delicious!!!
I wouldn't call myself a bar Hopper, but I've been here a couple of times since it's so close to my house. It's got a decent atmosphere...... the dark booths, comfortable seating, darker lighting. It's also a bar that you can actually meet up with people and talk...because the music isnt so blasting loud that you can't hear a word that anyone is saying to you. It's a good location on Santa Monica Boulevard because even if there isn't parking on Santa Monica, you can park on one of the smaller streets. Just watch carefully for any permit parking signs.
Super packed back room with a DJ. In the front the bartenders are quick and there are tables if you wanna sit. It's a cool spot to bar hop in the street. It's good on the weekends go dance in the back ! Just be aware its gonna be tight around 10pm
A hip fun bar, with two rooms separated by a corridor where the bathrooms are. Two bars inside one with their specialty drinks up front and a regular bar in the back where the dancefloor and dj were. The page is intricately designed with Russian influenced pop art and small neon accents. Their specialty drinks were tasty, I hope their spicy cocktail which I can’t remember the name of. All their cocktails start at $15. It was nice because in the front room there is some seating and enough quiet to be able to have conversations over the music proceeding from the back room in which if you felt like escaping… could boogie on over to.
If you love vodka you'll love this bar. The whole menu is fun and creative with a little something for everyone. The atmosphere is nice, has cozy booths across from the bar. The night I went was a younger crowd (early 20s) but that wasn't a deal breaker since there was still plenty of space to distance yourself from the new drinkers lol. Also great music! Would visit again!
Bar can be fun sometimes and drinks are good but multiple people got their phones stolen here!! Please watch out for your things because it seems like they don’t do a great job policing people walking in. The immediately stepped in to help but when 7 people get their phones stolen in an hour that just seems kind of like a crazy coincidence?? Keep your stuff close and have fun
The staff is very nice. I'm not much of a vodka girl, I usually go for Mezcal or Bourbon but I do love a fun kitschy bar. There's dancing in the back, love being able to dance. Docking one star because when I sat outside one time, leaning against the wall, a giant cockroach crawled into my hair. I know this is no fault of the owner or staff but I was traumatized. BUT the security was super sweet and took me back for a free shot to ease my nerves. <3
Fun cocktails and there's an entire theater in the back! Drinks aren't cheap but they're tasty! Not sure if bar itself offers food; the vegan grilled cheese vendors that were there the night we went were delicious!
I've enjoyed this bar every time I've gone. It's a younger crowd that reminds me of my college days, but a little more sophisticated. In the front the bar is open and more for talking. The back has another bar with a DJ where the dancing is. It's a smaller bar and can get pretty crowded, but it's fun once you finally choose a place to stay. I'd suggest going here at the end of the night if you're looking for a fun place to dance at! Also, drinks around $11 each.
Cool atmosphere. Didn’t get to check out the back but the front patio was great. Drinks were pretty strong and tasty. My partners mom had some trouble getting served, but overall service was great.
Excellent little venue with a bar and live performances or comedians. Was a nice little place with nice out going folks I randomly came in on a Thursday night with a girlfriend and we were informed of the comedy show that was about to start. Most of the comedians were pretty funny. But the biggest surprise of the night (right as we were about to leave) Aziz Ansari came on stage!!! It was too much fun. I would recommend this place on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday!
It offers a one-of-a-kind Russian-themed ambiance that instantly transports you. The live band performance adds to the authenticity, while the diverse drink selection satisfies all tastes.
Fun, casual bar with great ambience and decor. Highly knowledgeable bartenders who willing assist with navigating the 200 various vodkas! I enjoyed trying out several different types side by side. There actually is a great amount of variety in the different types of vodka. On the weekend The Back Room has a really nice bar as well and dance area that opens at 10 PM. Unfortunately, as of the time of this writing the Ukrainian visas were out of stock.

Great atmosphere! Had a free comedy show in the back which was very entertaining. Signature cocktails were expensive but good. Overall a great and memorable experience.
Feels like a cool bar from a big one era and that's a compliment. No frills, fun bar with a nice patio.

Decent comedy shows, kinda disappointing drink selection for a soviet themed bar, and the soviet theming is a bit overdone for my tastes. Worth seeing! But I won't be a patron.
(Posting for Fridays and Saturdays.) The place has good music and an overall fun vibe but it gets waaay to crowded especially in the back where the dancing is supposed to happen, people are packed like sardines in there.
Lots of screaming girls that turned 21 like yesterday. And why are cocktails so expensive in LA. Is the alcohol different or something?
Been a good amount over the years. This place is fun with a small group but it's very small so will be tight on the dance floor and getting to the bars.
Went on a slow day (Thursday), so can't say much. But I've heard it gets busy and fun on the weekend. Great drinks though!
Too crowded. Room is too small. Cocktails is just so so. More people after 12pm. If you can sing many popular songs, you can try.
The mixed drinks are really good and very strong. They have a back room which sometimes has live entertainment. the service can be slow since so many of the drinks are complicated.
We went here as a stop on day two of our romantic speakeasy/bar-hopping trip. This was probably our least favorite stop on our trip. It wasn't bad per say, but it wasn't anything special either. It could've been the timing, we were there around 8:00, which is early for the bar scene. We were two of three people inside. But the drinks were not that impressive, the decor was nothing extraordinary. Overall, it was just so-so. I wouldn't recommend it, but I wouldn't tell someone to avoid it either. It is truly average from my experience, but I would give it another shot if given the opportunity.
So I walk into a bar the other night and there are literally no one inside. Not even bartender I set by the bar waiting for someone to make an order and bartender showed up in like 5 minutes Made an order, tried to ask the bartender some questions, he didn’t pay attention and walked out The bartender is a dick My beer was alright though
Came with a friend on Thursday evening. The second I walked in, there was this strong smell of marijuana. Uch. They have 2 rooms in front, where it's lounging and easier music to listen to. Back room had loud hip hop r/b music. Crowded with lots of young imature ppl dancing wildly. Not my style place to go to. Music and the crowd feels like one of those low class bars in Hollywood.. I don't reccomend this.
Music was good when we visited on a Friday night, earlier on it wasn’t as crowded and the bars weren’t too busy either. My friends had an issue when they were ordering their drinks and they wanted to change their order. They were given a hard time then the manager also confronted them after. I was not present with them at that time but that caused us to leave and I was having a great time dancing but because of that we didn’t feel comfortable staying there. Big shoutout to one of the bartenders that told me get bitters when I wasn’t feeling well.

The manager bryan is racist he embarassed me in front of my girlfriend and asked me where i was from and i said mexico and he said this is la you are not wanted here for no reason we were really hurt and i dont think we will be going back even though we used to love going here.
Great place to get your phone stolen, and get no help from the staff about it. Nothing special and not worth getting your phone stolen over.
Horrible. Threw my friends out because they are gay. Would not recommend to anyone looking to have a fun night with friends
Don’t come here unless you want your phone stolen. Came this Saturday and multiple people including myself were robbed of our phones. Staff was zero help.
wanted to have fun here but some girl name Kira was singing and it gave me an awful headache. You would think they would make sure they people they hire to sing can actually sing well.
Watch your drinks! Keep your drinks in your hands at all times. Don't rest your glasses or bottles on the tables. The bartender passes with a tray removing all the same filled glasses and bottles when people have finished buying them. This to make you buy another drink at the bar. Bartender of this place is a rude person. I'm not going back to this place.
I didn't know that this place was notorious for getting your phone stolen. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way and my phone was pick pocketed from my zipped up pocket last night (06/15/25). If you do go here, please be careful and don't leave your phone easily unattended. Outside of this, it's an ok bar, it does get REALLY crowded.
Great place to go if you want to get your phone stolen. Too bad they haven't done anything about the rampant pickpockets that frequent this bar. It's fun otherwise! Having to buy new phone does raise the cost quite a bit tho...
Went there this past weekend for a friend's birthday. The service staff were polite and the music was great! My distaste for this venue has to do with security. My friend and I were standing near the bar at one point in the night when the security guard attempted to move past my friend, but pushed him in the process. My friend responded to the plain-clothed security guard by telling him not to do that; they ultimately ended up in a war of words which ended in them kicking my friend out. Long story short, the manager apologized as he conceded that the guard's ego played a huge part in the interaction. The guard should have been more respectful and simply apologized for pushing my friend.
The manager harassed us because we pregamed??? He argued with us for a solid 15 mins and was extremely disrespectful and manipulative and then kicked us out. Even the bouncer disagreed with him. Literally illegal but ok. We had also already bought several drinks at the bar btw.
Local bar - haven’t been by in a while but normally great vibes and staff. Unfortunately on slower nights the lady they have working tries to close early and rather than calling last call or letting guests know of an earlier call time she begins to argue and accuse guests of being intoxicated therefore refusing service which makes for an awkward end point. The security acknowledged this behavior as did ongoing guests by this woman. Our visit was this evening on a Tuesday. Disappointing end as typically one calls “last call” additionally we were all adults that came by for our first and second drink to have this woman (name starts with a V) act rudely and unprofessional. Otherwise normally a great time.
Had a great time til we left for 10 minutes… we came back and the manager accused us drinking while we were gone and refused to let us back in. After purchasing multiple drinks. Absolute bullshit. I was astonished at the way we were thrown out after this.
I would honestly give it zero stars if I could. The service was horrible, I felt as if there was racial tension against me and my friend, as we were refused the service of ordering a cocktail.
Had a great time there. However the bartender girl who worked there on April 23 from 9pm - 12am was incredibly unattentive and absent. We had to flag her down when she was standing right in front of us just to get her attention. She finally paid attention when we asked for the check and gave her a tip to match her service. She then decided to chase us down the street to our uber and demand a larger tip. This unfortunate incident was the most attention she had paid to us the whole night. I found her very distasteful and such a foul representation of the venue. Chasing down patrons demanding a tip was one of the most embarrassing things I have ever seen. I wouldn't want something like that representing my venue if I was the owner of Bar Lubistch. Such an emotionally unstable employee shouldn't be working in front of clients let alone be trusted to handle drinks and money.
Extremely rude bartender. Simply asked for a cup of water, something that should be standard at any bar. Was met with an attitude. The bartender snapped, “You guys can’t just come here for water,” which was completely uncalled for. Basic hospitality was nowhere to be found. Definitely not coming back.
