Shampan at the Spinning Wheel

I booked Shampan at the Spinning Wheel to celebrate my daughters first birthday with a lunch buffet for up to 90 family and friends, and what a delightful day it was. We enjoyed a diverse Indian buffet, unlimited soft drinks, and a wonderful spread of desserts, displayed so beautifully. We requested specific dishes and they ensured they were on the menu, plus more! Our guests could not stop talking about how tasty the food was. The waiters are friendly, attentive and smartly dressed. They offered a seamless experience for me and my guests, consistently topping up the buffet and soft drinks. As for the venue itself, it has an elegant and contemporary ambiance which resonates with the sophistication of a high-end central London restaurant. Booking the event was smooth from start to finish and I would highly recommend considering this venue for your event. It is a perfect choice for special occasions, leaving a lasting positive impression. They went above and beyond to make our day special and our guests left happy and full! Thank you team Shampan!

What an amazing experience tonight was. Sham as well as everyone else went well above expectations for my birthday meal with my son and grandchildren. 🤗 I can honestly say that this has been the best restaurant I have been too in a very long time. 😊 We are all ready planning our next visit. ☺️ Thank each and everyone of the team for a lovely evening. 😊

One of the best Bengali/ Indian restaurants we've been to in a while. All the dishes were great and service was very good. Great for a special occasion and one of the best in SE London.

Amazing food and service. Very different to your typical curry house. The surrounding is beautiful. Chic and modern. Good selection of drinks including cocktails/mocktails. Felt like it was very much an occasion.

Amazing food, amazing staff. The service staring from the entrance was really amazing. Food was made well and tasty and the chef and the whole staff were amazing.

Wonderful place- great atmosphere, really elegant with a relaxed vibe. Delicious food, traditional Indian with a modern take. Exceptional staff, who are friendly and attentive. Hadn’t been here for a while and I’m asking myself why not! It is just the best Indian food with quality outstanding service with a beautiful atmosphere. It was my friends birthday so we thought we would treat him to Shampan, everything from start to finish was as I remember….simply the best & outstanding…I will not be leaving it so long this time and will return very soon. Thank you to the chef Sadek for the amazing tasting food and beautiful presentation your passion for food really shines through, also Raju, Bishwash & all the wonderful waiters who served us, we always never leave hungry and always satisfied with a very happy tummy. I’m gluten, wheat and dairy intolerant and shaman at the spinning wheel created the most amazing dish from scratch for me and the taste was sensational. It was exceptionally vibrant and so beautifully, presented personally by the head chief who returned at the end of the meal to check everything was to my liking. The entire staff where attentive, kind and caring, nothing was to much.

A wonderful meal at Shampan! The flavours, taste & presentation were second to none. We were very well looked after, the food was AMAZING. It's not my first time and won't be my last! Thank you!

Lovely lunch at Shampan today. We chose the sharing platter for two. Food and service by Islam were excellent, lady the greeted us was very welcoming. Good value. Will go again.

Sham, was our waiter and provided exceptional service. We asked for the chef to come out and pick our meals. He asked a few questions about our dietary needs and likes and then provided the best Indian meal we ever had.

We organised a party for 5 October babies in the private function room at Shampan spinning wheel. AMAZING experience!!! Food first class. Setting awesome. Price great! The welcome and care by Mr Biswas Gurung, Mr Sadek Bhai and Mr Raju was SIMPLY THE BEST. All the guests were full of praise of the venue. It is the second time we organising a big party at Shampan Spinning Wheel this year… and we were not disappointed!!! Naheeda MERCI … your team & urself rocks :) Thank you for all the attention and care to ensure we had a first class event and everybody left happy. The service by the 2 waiters in the function room was Ab Fab. Our requests were handled promptly. Food was top notch. Bee highly recommend!!!

Came with my friends tonight. What an incredible evening! Fantastic team and food with such high standards. The service was incredible and the restaurant is immaculate. The aroma when you walk through the restaurant is exquisite. The chef Sadek came to our table, such a lovely guy and amazing food. Will only be coming back here for Indian. The Manager was incredible and you can see that in the team ❤️

On Sunday 21st December we celebrated my mother in laws 90th birthday at the Shampan there were 18 of us including 4 young children ages 6, 5, 4, and 17 months the staff couldn't have been more accommodating to make her day special. The food was amazing and the service was spectacular replenishing our drinks and making sure everyone was okay. They brought out the cake I had had made just at the right time making sure everyone had finished eating and all was cleared away. I cannot thank them enough and will definitely be booking future events at the Shampan. Thank you once again

It’s always empty when we go which is nice but doesn’t give much atmosphere. Mocktails were nice and decently priced. Food portions vary quite drastically depending on when you go which isn’t ideal. Naan was a bit too burnt for my taste but overall I had and would go back .

We ordered a takeaway costing £60 so commenting on the food not the restaurant venue as we didn't eat there. The food was ready to collect on arrival. However it was all downhill from there. The lamb biryani was dry and had no flavour. The paratha was dry too. Not worth the money we paid at all. Won't order from there again.
