If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. When traveling, I don’t like to eat at the same place twice. I did here and I wish I could have gone more. The first night we ordered chicken feet, duck tongue both ways, seafood fried rice and clams in lemongrass. It was all so amazing. The lemongrass broth with clams was so light but yet flavorful. The duck tongue in the pot was delightful and the sauce was very complex. All dishes came out when they were ready, meaning nothing sat around. The second night we ordered boiled chicken feet (which came with an incredible onion salad on top), sautéed water spinach with garlic (I ate the entire dish without shame), fried rice with beef and pickled lettuce (crunchy and delightful), pork liver (which was hands down the table favorite, the flavor was mild but smooth too), two oysters (they were HUGE and a delicate flavor, not too harsh) and pork hocks (crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle). This place is for the food adventurous and the food timid. There is something for everyone here with their vast menu. There’s fish, frog, chicken, beef, eel, 4 pages of vegetables, hot pot, crab, snails… the list goes on. All dishes are freshly prepared. Service is quick. Place is full of locals having fun and just a cool/fun vibe. Forget the current rating of under 4 stars. If you’re anywhere near this place, or are willing to pay the $2 for a Grab, run don’t walk to this gem of HCMC.
The first time I tried Banh Nam La Chuoi was at a restaurant in Houston as well as other rice cake dishes, so when I found this restaurant while visiting OC I was excited to try it!! So good. The Vy Da combo was perfect for getting a bit of everything. Banh Canh Tom Cua was flavorful and had real crab in it, best one I’ve had in a restaurant I would say
Love this place! The Bun Bo Hue is rich, flavorful and extremely fresh. I also really like how its not spicy to start and you can spice it up to the level you want it to be with their in house chili sauce. Don't miss out on the specialty dishes too. I always get the combo if I'm not sure what to get but my favorites are the Beo and It Ram. Also, if you want more of a seafood based soups, you have to try the Banh Canh Tom Cua and Bun Rieu. I personally like the BCTC more but the Chu's and Co's always fight over which is better.
I have been dying to eat here since I would go to unu Cafe next door. The food is excellent. Everything here is so tasty. And the service is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and nice..the resturant is very clean..they have so many food to choose from and their food is great. If your in tbe area and are wondering if you should here you should.
What a phenomenal experience! So glad our friend told us about this place because we will be back! Amazing service, and delicious food! Central style Viet food with such unique dishes but also familiar dishes too! //CONTEXT// I came here around 9:30 am on a Saturday and honestly it started getting packed by the time we left! I think that shows how popular this place is! Came as a party of two //ENVIRONMENT// Big space for large or small parties. Very clean inside and clean restrooms! //FOOD// * Banh beo: so good and one of our favorite banh béos! The fish sauce was so good! Shrimp was flavorful * Banh It Ram: this yummy rice cake with fried rice cake like mochi texture is amazing! Perfectly fried and crisp. * Banh Cảnh Tom Của: another great thick soup with real crab and shrimp balls! So flavorful //SERVICE// Amazing service and everyone was really kind! We also chatted with the owners and they are so welcoming Overall I'd bring friends and family here!
Very good Hue food! Highly recommend Banh Beo.
This place was packed with Vietnamese speaking diners so I think it must be pretty authentic. The menu is in Vietnamese & English, and I did my homework beforehand, and let me tell you research pays off! Every single dish I ordered was fantastic. 🦀 2️⃣ Bún Riêu – $13.5 Vermicelli noodle soup with tomato, ground crab, pork blood, and tofu (+$2 for added snails) This crab noodle soup was a pleasant surprise. The broth wasn’t as heavy as I expected but still packed with flavor. It came with thin vermicelli noodles, crab paste, tomatoes, pork blood, tofu, and eggs. I also opted to add snails for an extra $2—totally worth it! 🥢 1️⃣7️⃣ Bánh Bèo Chến Vỹ Dạ – $13.5 Vy Da’s Steamed Rice Cakes with Ground Shrimp This dish came with 12 small plates, each holding a soft, chewy rice cake topped with crispy fried garlic and dried shrimp. The magic happens when you drizzle their house-made fish sauce over it—absolutely delicious! (And no funky fish sauce smell, just pure umami goodness!) Plus, it came with a side of crispy fried pork skin. 🍤 2️⃣0️⃣ Bánh Ít Ram – $13.5 Fried & Steamed Dumplings with Shrimp & Pork This one was mind-blowing! It’s a two-layered delight—the top is a chewy glutinous rice dumpling, while the bottom is a crispy fried base filled with crunchy shrimp and pork. Once you drizzle it with their sauce, it becomes the perfect combo of crispy, chewy, and savory. A must-order! 🥤 Thai Tea – $4 Surprisingly, this was the best Thai tea I’ve had at any Thai or Vietnamese restaurants in the area! Perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Bonus: Free Herb & Lettuce Platter They serve a complimentary plate of fresh greens with the meal—love the authentic touch! There are still so many dishes I want to try here, but I was way too full this time. One thing’s for sure is that Vietnamese food is so much more than just pho! Can’t wait to come back for round two. 📍 Quán Vỹ Dạ Restaurant (Liberty Square) 9950 Bolsa Ave B, Westminster, CA 92683 (Parking in this plaza can be tricky. You might need to circle around a few times or just park in the adjacent lot)
Your local mom and pop shop! Great atmosphere with a koi pond in the back and food is good AND fairly priced! Definitely get their ban uot tam chay. Ban beo is also a must get. Bun thit nuong is also delicious!
Never know that duck and bamboo shot can go together very well, I have a duck noodle with side salad it’s taste very nice, the soup, meat and ginger sauce is a perfect match. Imagine you dip the soft tender juicy duck meat inside a ginger sauce that usually makes for hainan chicken rice. It is easy to find this location and also can come by bus too as it’s located right next to OC Bus stop.
excellent rec from my wife 's cousin who's a local here, had the bun bo hue and banh beo and both were fresh, delicious, full of flavor and a treat. just incredible and had the hot beer coffee along with the avocado smoothie. oh my God just great! definitely come here
Great food and quick service. Really enjoyed the BBH and rice cake dishes served in their own little bowls. Only thing truly missing was the banana flower to eat with the spicy beef soup as that has always been a favorite accompaniment that was lacking but overall loved everything and can’t wait to return.
Ate here by chance but what an awesome place. Food was delicious. We ask for chef recommendations and both of them were really good. Can remember the names but we're items 1 and 2 on the menu.
Really good Bun Bo Hue! Came for lunch on Saturday and it was very busy. Didn't wait long for a table, but would imagine at least 10m wait during peak hours. Service was great and food came out very quickly! The coconut drink was also really good. Will def be coming back!
I’ve been here a few times so far. This is located in a busy plaza with other businesses. I went around 12 pm on a Saturday and found it was difficult to find parking. It was definitely busy inside, but I was able to get a table for 3 quickly. In my recent visit, I got the Bun Bo Hue. It tasted pretty good. However, I tried a bit of the Banh Beo and really enjoyed that more. The service was quick. They accept credit card, but not American Express.
Great service and delicious foods. My husband and I tried Bun bo Huế and Vy Da Combo (bánh beo bánh lọc bánh ít). The combo was amazing, still warm when served, nice texture. Bún bò Huế was tasty with clear flavourful broth, decent toppings and a generous portion of vegetables. We had the same dishes at Ngu Bình restaurant and prefer this one, esp the combo which stood out. Definitely would come back.
My kind of restaurant, cozy, good food, fast service, and especially good price. It was late afternoon and the place was packed but they managed to get our group a table without reservation. Food was great especially the "banh beo chen". I'm still drooling thinking about it 🤤
The owner is very nice and the food is delicious!
A family friend recommended this place for BBH and its by far one of my favorite BBH experiences. The broth was rich in flavor. Meats were seasoned well and tender. When you finish it doesn't feel like MSG is stuck in your system at all. I came here around 10 AM and it was a busy Saturday. Tables were full, but my large party got seated fairly quickly. We ordered everything from BBH, beef with pork vermicelli bowl, banh cuon, coconut drinks, and banh beo chen. The banh beo here is a must order as well. Great in texture and they even provide the chicharron. Food quality and service is perfect. You get plenty of veggies for each soup dish. Servers are constantly clearing your table and refilling your drinks. With current Covid conditions they had the partitions between each table. When people say Westminister has some of the best Viet food. Quan Vy Da is a great example. You know a place is going to be good when they have fresh hot chilis and Maggi soy sauce waiting at your table. Highly recommend if you want classic Vietnamese dishes and refreshing drinks.

It's great. Been going there for something like 30 years and always traveling from the 626. I remember when they just had a few tables. Always gotta get the chicken and rice, banh beo or you know what? Just about anything from there tastes great.

A traditional Vietnamese place. The star is Bún Bò Huế, the salty rich broth go together with pork feet, tender and beef is unresistable. But in my opinion the pork blood cube is not good, too dry The place is clean, have all the necessary spice to eat. The lotus seed che is ok, the lotus seed is a bit hard, a little bit too sweet

Pretty decent Bun Bo Hue and Banh Beo. Their banh beo seems to have more tapioca flour than other places which gives it more of a chew.
