First time here and as a native Wilmingtonian, I would advise everyone to check it out. The drinks were balanced and delivered full to satisfaction. Gabe and Acora were awesome, providing great service and suggestions for food and drink! There was also a very active party in their private room that has led me to think about suggesting my corporate holiday party to be held here. Keep up the good work and much success to this local business!
My new favorite in Wilmington!! Bao Buns were delicious. Also the Sugar Were Going Doe drink was phenomenal! The peapod garnish made me lol. I drink like a fish, so I spent way more than the average person. Great service at the bar, even during an Eagles game. I WILL be back!
Highs: Food and drinks were great! Highly recommend the bao buns, ribs and toaster strudel. Lows: (1) We were seated by curtains that led to a back room so everyone had to pass us within inches, pushing through the curtains hitting one of our chairs. No one should be seated there. (2) Nothing turns your stomach quite like your server coming over to check on your meal smelling like an ashtray. The smell was so strong that I took the rest of my meal to go.
An incredible experience!! Very well taken care of by our server - Jason! Food was phenomenal and everything came out well (and perfect timing)! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good time and good food!
Everything was definitely wonderful! No complaints at all!!!! Dustin, our server was PHENOMENAL🌟🌟🌟 Our drinks were AMAZING! The food is DEFINITELY on point 💯The atmosphere and decor was very welcoming!!! We will definitely be back soon and with friends and family!
This place was a nice experience. I really enjoyed myself there with my sister. She suggested it because she had been in the past. I was skeptical because I wasn't sure what I would like based on the menu. But when I got there I was surprised. Everything we tried was delicious. OMG the Elote cornbread is unlike anything I have ever tasted. I will definitely be back. And our server Jason was a delight , his service was Superb .They need more servers like him 👌🏾I recommend you go try it!
Great drink & food. First time there. Visited before concert at the Opera House across the street. Ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese with Sweet Potato Fries. The cheese was gooey and short ribs flavorful! The fries came with a French onion Paoli AND marshmallow dip! Cool. Just like Thanksgiving, sweet potatoes and marshmallows! Yummy creative! Also had a local cider that was pleasing. Great place to go before the show!
Isabella was our server, she was fantastic! Came here from out of state on a whim and she gave great recommendations, and gave phenomenal service. Everything was incredible. Loved the fig newton infused cocktail!! Great experience!
We have been to all of the other Bardea offerings in the area so we were excited to try out Roost! We were not disappointed. Located on Market Street in Wilmington, Roost is an upscale pub and bar. The menu is typical pub food fare but with an upscale twist. We were seated immediately upon entering. Our server Ashley was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable. She Handled our food sensitivities easily, made great recommendations for both drinks and food, and could explain any dish in depth. The food was delectable! We had the deviled eggs which arrived in a nest made out of dough, a burger, a Reuben, and dessert. If you are a craft beer person they have an excellent draft menu. Overall it was a fantastic experience and we look forward to returning.
My son and I enjoyed this restaurant. I recommend making reservations on Fri, Sat and Sun, because it is possible to have a wait time. The atmosphere is nice and waitress Lindsey G was professional, courteous and polite. I appreciate the manager visiting my table🤝 The food was delicious 🤤
Brina and Tristian were absolutely amazing! Stopped in not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. This place was busy! Despite the huge amount of people at the bar they made my experience feel super personable and I didn’t feel rushed at all. Was talked to about the new cocktails and many food items by Brina and she was very knowledgeable. Tried the newtons law cocktail and it was mind blowing. Manager at some point even asked me how I was doing which you don’t get much anymore!! Amazing staff, food and drinks.. Will be back!!! 😄
Had an amazing time and my waitress Riley was so attentive. Realizing I wanted to watch the game and change the station without me asking. I’m hat put me over the top. The ladies in the front was exceptional. And the food. Chief kiss! The music and vibe on point. A must visit
Amazing. No surprise that it’s managed by the owner of Bardea. Food and drinks were delicious and our bartender was knowledgeable and charismatic. The pierogies were amazing and we had the turkey sandwich and pastrami grilled cheese.
Our dinner was delicious! Same quality food as Bardea but more casual and affordable for a Friday night out. The wings and deviled eggs were great (the eggs came with four dipping sauces) and the elote cornbread in a small skillet was incredible. The smash burger was literally perfect. They also offer a freestyle mocktail option where you can pick the flavor profile you want; I got a yummy virgin orange crush-esque drink. Our server Jason was wonderful, so sweet and attentive and made great recommendations. We’ll definitely be back!
Our waitress was Lindsay and she was fantastic. Everything we tried lived up to the hype - highly recommend!
Great burger. Very nice lunch spot. Service took a little longer than we would like. But the food was good and the place was very nice.
Incredible menu but accessible to a wide range of palates. Everything was delicious and the service was attentive. The chocolate cobbler is incredible!!!
Went to Roost on a Friday night. Was fantastic!! Ordered the OG flatbread, two handhelds, plus some IPAs. Everything was terrific. Servers were friendly, atmosphere was casual upscale, and honestly, the quality of the meal was exponentially better than say other high end chains in the area. Our first visit here, but we’ll definitely be back!!
Amazing and such a unique twist on classic American food. Really delicious snd would recommend you get a side of mac.
Jason was our server and he was great! Food was amazing and we’re definitely going back if we’re in the area.
First time here to celebrate a birthday and will be back again. We caught happy hour and the wings were so good! The drinks were great too.
I was too busy enjoying everything about this place to take pictures! The cheesesteak bao buns are a must and perfect to share for two. The smash burger and short rib flatbread were also amazing! And the drinks… highly recommend the cocktails and the beer list is top tier for IPA lovers. Atmosphere is gorgeous, giving traditional and rustic decor. Lindsey was phenomenal in addition to all staff! Don’t miss out.
The best steak I have had in years, the staff is amazing and can tell you everything about the entire menu. I was indecisive and Lindsey recommended the picanha steak, the amazing food paired with the great atmosphere has made this a new weekend staple for me.
Service by Lindsay was amazing. Very attentive. Food 10/10. Drinks 10/10. Will for sure be back! Highly recommend.
Went to roost for the first time. For my first experience, this place was wonderful. Everything was delicious. Service, atmosphere, hands down amazing.
A higher-end millennial restaurant. I giggled when I saw "Handhelds" on the menu. Went on a Tuesday night and it was quiet. The food was pretty good. I would go again if I were in Wilmington.
I had the golden goose cocktail, made by Jane, it was amazing. My friends and I sat the bar. We shared the buffalo wings, elote cornbread and coleslaw. 10/10. Highly recommend coming here and sitting at the bar with Jane. You’re sure to enjoy yourself.
Visited my first time for happy hour. As a huge Bardea fan, Roost didn’t disappoint. Happy hour was amazing and very affordable ($10 apps!!). The bartenders were attentive and pleasant and the drinks were on point. Loved the creative food and drinks. Can’t wait to go back :)
We hosted our Delaware Book & Sip Club’s monthly Book Party here and could not have asked for a better experience! From the very beginning, communication was smooth and welcoming. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 40+ members, and everything—from the food to the drinks—was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was cozy yet lively, which made it the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Our members especially loved the themed cocktails and how attentive the team was all evening. It really felt like they cared about making our event special. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t recommend this spot enough if you’re looking for a place to host a group event or just enjoy great food and drinks with friends. Thank you for helping us make our 1-year anniversary unforgettable!
We were in town for a show at the Opera House and scrambled to find a spot to watch the Eagles game that was also kid-friendly. Props to the whole staff who managed a rowdy sports Sunday rush with absolute ease. Our server was awesome, the food was remarkably good and the ambience fits the upscale pub vibes perfectly. Would definitely be my choice for another pre-show dining option at The Grand!
Great experience today at Roost. First time coming here, but won’t be the last. Drinks were great, food was excellent, but the service was top notch. Greta was very kind, prompt, and just generally a great person to organize our meal. She also has the cutest pens of any server!!
Jane should have a line for stars too. My drink is never dry. She is so attentive and always checking in on us. Every time I come here I hope she is working to get the best service. I love sitting at the bar with her. Incredible staffer makes the atmosphere!!!
Ashley is probably one of the best servers I have ever had, and we go to a lot of restaurants!!! Food, atmosphere, SERVICE, is all 10+ stars. You are missing out if you don’t try this place. We brought our management staff here from our restaurant group and everyone was so impressed. Highly recommend!!!
Bella was super sweet and helpful. The caesar salad was delicious, especially the warm, soft croutons! The chocolate cobbler tasted amazing but was HUGE so I took half home😂
Trust me! EVERYTHING was good. Ordered 5 apps, 2 sandwiches, 5 cocktails, 1 dessert. When I say EVERYTHING was good I mean everything was absolutely perfect. They nailed it!!!! Our server Jason was absolutely amazing. Food was hot and delicious. Drinks were tasty and balanced (not too watery not too strong). Omg you had to try it. Seriously good. Not a large menu but I get it. They’ve perfected everything on it. Vibe is nice. People are chill. Food is yummy. Jason has to be your waiter. Happy Friday Peeps! No photos—because we ate it all before I thought to write a review.
Stopped by The Roost in Wilmington and had an awesome experience. Gabe and Jane were behind the bar and absolutely crushed it — super friendly, made great drinks, and had excellent recommendations. The short rib grilled cheese was a standout — really good flavor, solid portion size, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great too — a nice mix of people, laid-back but lively, with football games playing on Sunday to keep things fun. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!
My girlfriends and I came in for dinner tonight and had a wonderful time! The ladies behind the bar were very sweet and fun. We ordered the nachos and the bartender was very accommodating in listing all of the ingredients and making sure they were made how we liked them. I will absolutely be back soon!
I traveled to Delaware from Michigan. I was looking for something local but classy. Roost was the spot! Bella was my server and she was so nice, super knowledgeable about the menu and attentive! The food was delicious and amazing and nicely served. The drinks were equally delicious and amazing. The manager Sam, stopped by the table to checked up on me after my food was delivered, was such a sweet interaction! If you’re from out of town this is the spot :) <3
Stopped by The Roost in Wilmington and had a mixed experience. The real highlight of the night was the bartenders — Gabe and Jane were both fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and made great conversation while keeping drinks flowing smoothly. They definitely elevated the vibe. As for the food, it was just okay. The menu felt a bit overcomplicated — too many ingredients competing with each other instead of letting the main flavors shine. Nothing was bad, just a little heavy-handed and missing some balance. Overall, I’d come back for the atmosphere and to grab a drink with Gabe and Jane behind the bar, but probably wouldn’t rush back for the food alone.Stopped by The Roost in Wilmington and had a mixed experience. We had an outstanding experience! Steve, our bartender, was absolutely fantastic!- friendly, attentive, and great to chat with. He made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down, and the cocktails he made were excellent. Definitely coming back, and highly recommend asking for Steve!
Food excellent! Atmosphere is great. Our server seemed very inexperienced. Really confused about different wines. Menu does not explain how things come and the server didn't know either. Will definitely go back. Probably just need some training and experience.
Visited this place today. Atmosphere is great, the was greeted upon entering. Service was excellent. Upon receiving the menu I was updated on specials , as well as items that were sold out. Food was ok. Didn’t taste bad , it was exactly as the server described “elevated bar food”. In my opinion it’s seeming like if you’ve been to one Bardea owned restaurant , you’ve been to them all (I’ve been to quite a few). Price wise everything is as expected, although they do have a few menu items that are definitely overpriced for the portion size you receive. All in all great place for date night or just a good time out, but if you’re a foodie and looking for knock your socks off taste/flavor that’ll have you wanting more, I’d pass.
This is a sports bar vibe!! Atmosphere and people were cool!!! I just didn't enjoy the food!!! I ordered the devil eggs and the short rib grilled cheese. The deviled eggs was just not good at all. The sandwich was just a sandwich. The shirt rib didn't have no flavor or seasoning. The service was wonderful!
Id like to start off by saying our server Lindsay was awesome. She was extremely attentive and quick even while it was busy. I also thought the bus boys were very respectful. But the food was seriously lacking and was far from impressed. -boneless wings 3/10 -cheesesteak bao buns 6/10 -burger 4/10 -chicken sandwich 4.5/10 -Mac and cheese 7/10 -chocolate cobbler 4/10 Nothing we ate left me wanting more or to come back again, I’m a huge fan of pub food and this was a big miss.
I got a gift card to the Bardea chain of restaurants. We chose to go to Roost. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was a typical Friday night pub restaurant tour place. Parking is terrible fight for a spot on the street or pay for the parking garage. Decided to get food to go and ordered the shepherds pie which was supposed to come with puff pastry. When I got it there was maybe 8 oz. Of meat with a few peas and what looked like 4 oz. Of potatoes no pastry. They failed to tell us you don’t get it to go.it was $21 after waiting for an hour to get the order we were hungry and their solution was to offer to take the food back and refund the money. They offered fries when asked for alternative. At this point I was done and took the fries. My son got a 6 oz. Steak which was way under cooked with fries. $24 So if you want tiny mediocre food for a lot of money this is your restaurant.
Had a pretty weird expirience here the other day. My family stopped in for an early dinner. We were sat in the back booths and given a happy hour menu. After ordering off the menu our server informed us his manger said we had to move to the bar area for the happy hour menu pricing. Considering we were currently the only table sat and the menu was placed out for us I thought it was odd we were being told to move to the bar with our child. We moved since it was going to cost us $25 more to sit at a booth. Luckily they let our server wait on us in the bar because it was dead and he was nice and deserved a tip. While eating in the bar area a pretty rough looking homeless man was sat directly next to my son. This made us pretty uncomfortable as he sat staring at us and staring at our wallets when we hurried up to pay. He then tried to bum money off us after this. While I'm sympathetic for the man as I know its cold, forcing us to sit at the bar area with a kid and allowing this guy to sit next to us and panhandle DURING our meal was wild, I have never experienced something like this. Meanwhile, the back booth area remained empty the whole time and they could have just made the logical decision to let us stay there. We could have had a nice family meal and the man could have sat alone at the bar for water and warmth. Our server was nice and the food was good but I question management after this and the expirience makes me not want to dine on Market St with my family again.
I come and sit at the bar regularly. I think everything’s amazing just the service sometimes isn’t the best. I hate leaving reviews but I just want to have a place where I can come and relax and not feel bad or guilty for coming in so I hope managers take this as constructive feedback and less of a complaint . Most times I come in it is the same 2 bartenders and bar back. There is 2 guys with dark hair, one bartending and one doing dishes and there’s a girl blonde one. I almost always witness the blonde female bartender I forget her name but she wears her hair in like 2 braids or ponytails, she snaps at the bar back and her other coworkers which is uncomfortable for everyone and kills the vibe. I feel like the worst person ever for simply coming to the bar and ordering a drink. She is super short with me and just kind of smacks a menu down and walks away. To the point where I start thinking “did i do something to her??” which I shouldn’t feel like at all!! I like this place I just I feel uncomfortable at the bar. I don’t want to get a table for myself but I might have to if it means I can get someone who’s happy to take care of me. Also… asking someone to leave you a good review after you were kind of angry towards them is extremely distasteful. I was nice because I am a nice person but it doesn’t mean I want to leave you a review after you acted like I was crazy for wanting a drink. I love this place overall, and I have had good service at the bar just not with that person. I hope the service becomes more consistent and professional. Please do better I love the drinks and food!!!!
This was our first and last time here. They have extremely slow (snail) service. Coworkers and I decide to try Roost last Friday September 26th. The decor is invite well thought out. It took well over 10 minutes before our server came to our table to take our drink order. We order a few appetizers for the table It took 20 minutes before they were brought to out table. Our lunch took even longer. We had to tell our server know our lunch time was over and needed everything to go. This was a huge disappointment to say the least.
Have been debating whether or not to review this place, but it’s been stuck in my mind since my wife and I came here about a week ago. For starters the food - absolutely outstanding. From presentation to taste and execution there were no flaws in my book. However, I am not sure we will be returning for the sole reason being service. My wife and I sat at the bar. It was on the busier side and we dine out frequently, so we try to be as understanding as possible for workers. The girl who took care of us completely ruined our experience. I want to say her name was Jane or at least started with a J, as she so kindly reminded us at the end of our dinner (after neglecting us) by shoving a QR code into our faces begging us to leave a review “with her name in it”. From beginning to end she made us feel like the biggest inconvenience to her. Like I said before, I understand being busy but I have never seen someone look so visibly bothered or upset at work. We felt our service was extremely rushed. My wife’s salad was incorrect and she didn’t offer us much of an apology or really acknowledge it at all. I don’t have super high standards I just expected a better experience from the Bardea group. Would love to come back but definitely going to be avoiding our previous server if possible.
Wow. Was super excited to come here. Our bartender Jane was unpleasant and awful. Made me and my party really dislike our experience. Great food. Horrible service from her. She brought the mood down for my friend as we were trying to celebrate their birthday. She was so off putting and you could tell we were nothing but a tip to her. Everything we asked for seemed like a huge inconvenience to her. I’m sorry we needed utensils and napkins to eat!
