Osaka Sushi

We love the food. The restaurant is always crowded. We take our family here for special occasions and we take our time. I think each dish is prepared individually so wait times can seem a bit long, but it's worth it. Don't go if you are in a hurry. My favorite is the Senior Combination Teriyaki Chicken with Tempora and Gyoza. My son and grandson prefer Sesame Chicken. We all enjoy the food and the atmosphere. It's casual. Service is good and friendly. The owner likes to acknowledge his regulars.

Great food and service. Atmosphere is a bit noisy, but worth it for great tasting rolls. Chefs knew what they were doing because our rolls were bite size and did not unravel.

Consistently great service and amazing food. Always my go to place when I want to eat out. I have tried the Osaka Sushi in Sacramento, but still nothing beats the Woodland one. Last but not least, my late grandfather used to love this Osaka sushi restaurant in particular as well, so it holds a special place in my heart.

My wife and I visited Osaka and were amazed at not only the quality of food, but also the service. We shared the spicy chicken dinner entree. This is easily one of the best meals we’ve eaten in town.

What an excellent find. The sushi was fresh, extremely flavorful, and good portion size as well. Prices are normal/slightly above but well worth it. Spicy Edaname was only thing that was a little salty, but still really good overall.

I had lunch here yesterday with a friend after not going for 5+ years. The quality of the food was still pretty good and about on par with how it was before. The interior is dark but comfortable and trying to be upscale slightly, but I also don't like their choice of decorations. They have started hanging large format posters or beer ads and it makes the place look cheap. Worth eating here if you are in the area and in a hurry. For sushi in Woodland though I recommend going to Jinju instead.

Food is delicious. It is pricy though. But their rolls and crispy chicken have been some of the best I have ever had. Staff is not the friendliest unless you are eating their and their outdoor seating is very limited. You have to make a special request gor it.

We went on a weekend at opening. The service was fast and the sushi roll portions were decent. The flavor was just okay. Not memorable enough to even recall what the name of the particular roll was that I got. Would I go again? Meh. There are definitely other sushi spots in the Sacramento area that I'd suggest over this one.

Sushi tastes good, spring roll is very plain. Dons have way more rice than the meat, ready to get food coma after ordering those. Service is fairly poor as we are rarely taken care of and are shown a cold attitude. Would definitely NOT revisit this place.

Food is good, but bring your patience. Service is lacking. Seems like any server can attend to you, which means you get overlooked by multiple people. Several visits on different days/times and it’s always the same. Maybe if you’re friends with the owner you might have a nice experience.

Very disappointing. I had been there 5-6 years ago and it was great- food and ambiance. I took my husband here today for his birthday lunch and was super disappointed. It was dirty, run down, the food was not good, our dishes were dirty, service was not great. I won't go here again.

Went with another person for dinner. They cleaned the table after we sat down. Ordered appetizer, 3 rolls, and shrimp yakisoba. Appetizer came towards the end of the meal. Didn't have one server but rather random servers. Received our bill halfway through our meal. Food was average and service was a bit disorganized. Overall, an ok dinner with ok service.

Good food, ridiculously bad service. Two couples and so two bills at a table for four. After a half hour the waitress gave us a bowl of soy beans because it was taking so long. Sometime after they were gone two of us got our meals. Another half hour... With no sight of a waitress in between, I finally got up and complained. The other two meals came maybe five minutes later. When I placed my order the menu did not indicate that a salad came with my meal. I asked the waitress who said she'd get me a salad. Never came. Neither did an apology. 2 stars because the tempura was worthy one.

I’m sure they have great sushi, only problem was I never got to try it. After sitting at a table for almost an hour with no one to come take our order only getting waters right after being seated. Would’ve loved to try their sushi but for a first timer, customer service was below expectations.

Very un welcoming establishment, my partner and I came into this restaurant on 4/26/24, hoping to get a good dining experience, when we arrived we did not know we had to sign into a kiosk to reserve our seat, so we were just standing at the door the waitresses did not inform us nor welcome us, the lady behind us told us we have to sign in so we did, there was like 6 people a head of us so we were patiently waiting like 45min, we had one person ahead of us and there was a lot of people waiting behind when it was our turn to be seated the waitress skip us and gave the lady behind us a seat, when I told the waitress we came in before the lady, she said she was going in the order of the list but we were next on the list, my partner and I are brown people and I feel like the waitress was discriminating against us because of our skin color, it was Very uncomfortable situation and a lot of our time was wasted. I will never return to this establishment. If I could give this place a 0star I would.

They close for lunch at 2. Stopped in at 159 and was told no.

Very Poor Service. Read the reviews on yelp and this seems to be a theme. It looks like they load the reviews because if you look at the one and two star reviews in yelp... the complaints are the same. Obviously the managemnt does NOT care. Slow service, disorganized, they LITERALLY threw our orders on the table without condiments or checking if we needed anything. I had to try to flag someone to get everything. Despite the fact all the delays were on their end and due to incompetence they then brought us our check without asking if we wanted anything else and refused to let us order dessert. Terrible service and for a sushi place...it is very scary. I had to post because apparently it is an ongoing issue and the managemnt does not care. It seems like they manage to bury the bad reviews but if you look into them. They are all complaining about the same thing. Major red flag. Spent 70 for two people and the experience was awful. The final excuse.. we were busy? Probably not for long if they continue treating customers like that. I am not the first to complain. Will NEVER go back.

Upon receiving my roll, I noted it was missing the salmon on top that I was most excited for. When I told the waiter it was missing the "topped with sake" noted on the menu, he told me "oh...yeah, sorry about that, the menu is actually wrong." To which i asked him, "Okay, can I have some salmon to put on top since I was not told the item description was wrong when I ordered it from you?" He went to check with the sushi chefs and came back to tell me the chefs would not cut any salmon to try to address their mistake. After he let me know this, I asked, "Can I have some salmon nigiri or sashimi on the side then to make up for it?" Again, he just told me no. It felt like he made no attempt to correct the situation, and he didn't even offer to take it off the check. He just walked away and expected us to accept it. When we told another waitress, she immediately took it off the bill and apologized. This was the worst customer service experience I've had. Everybody at the table was just looking at each other, dumbfounded. How an establishment as terrible as this has high ratings is perplexing. This added to the extremely unpleasant seating arrangement at the front of the restaurant we were already experiencing where we had to ask the staff to please request customers not surround our table while they waited to be seated, with one gentleman actually close enough to touch my arm. Lastly, the fish itself was not fresh or flavorful. I tried the tuna and salmon, both were dry and tasteless. Legitimately, the worst restaurant I've had the displeasure of experiencing from the moment we entered to the moment we left.
