Super yummy & fresh, great size portions and sauce 😋 👌 🙌 😍 salsa☆
I told the host " I'm hungry." She suggested the paella. So delicious, so filling, so much on one plate!
Excellent "hole in the wall" I would have never guessed had awesome food and service from the outside! One of the most impressive and consistent things I've experienced here is the quantity of food you get with your order! Generous portions! I consider the food tasty and healthy (I am a diabetic, so I pay lots of attention to the healthy part!) The help is very friendly, as well as the owners (who always seem to be available and who reach out in friendliness to each patron!) Great service and food Salsa Grill! You've won a customer and I'll keep coming back😎
Salsa Grill is a food-tastic time! This is a MUST EAT Place! Anytime I’m in Baltimore I ensure to stop in for the Caribbean Paella. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has a mom and pops feel to it and is perfect for any occasion. The authentic flavors of the food provide for a majestic experience and are always spot on. I’ve tried a few things off the menu and nothing has disappointed me. I started with the Beef Empanadas which are stuffed with meat and wrapped in a perfectly baked flakey crust. These are a great way to start the meal as I am a lover of authentic meat pies. The main course selections are all enticing, however, the Caribbean Paella truly has a place in my heart. I don’t eat shrimp so I order mine with No Shrimp, and replace it with Extra Chicken. (I also ask for extra onions) The chicken is always moist, meaty, and grilled to perfection. The flavor blend of the chicken and sausage deliver a happy tastebud focused experience. Furthermore, the portions are more than enough and perfectly aligned with the price point of the menu. This visit was yet another flavorful, stomach pleasing, tastebud awakening experience. Thank you to the Chef(s) for always being spot on and to the Staff for always smiling and providing an engaging and warm experience.
Stopped here for lunch after a hike and I'm glad I did! I was a bit cautious of the non-Peruvian food, since that is what I came here for, and I was not disappointed. The lomo saltado was delicious and heaped over a huge plate, and the owner was very kind in explaining what was in each dish I was interested in. It would be nice though to see better descriptions and photos of the menu items (for clarity and food allergen reasons). I can't say anything about the other ethnic cuisines and American food that are served here, but the Peruvian food looks great.
Found this restaurant by chance as we are trying to find a place open at 4 pm on a Saturday. Glad that we chose this place. As you enter the restaurant, the beautiful plants will welcome you,and then inside the walls are resplendent with gorgeous paintings by local artist Leigh Grohe. We ordered Caribbean paella and Lamb chops with crab cakes. Both items were good, but I would love a little more flavor in Paella. The sides( came with lamb chops) of potatoes and green beans were superb though. They surprised us with 2 chocolate covered strawberries. Overall nice experience. Have to visit again to try other items.
Great restaurant!. Food was excellent. Staff was friendly and attentive. The paella was absolutely great. Portions were substantial. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked fresh and as if grandma spent all day cooking it.
The shrimp & grab dish was delicious. The prices were low I feed 7 people for $150. And they do have dine in. The staff was friendly and good at their jobs. They gave us a whole plate of chocolate covered strawberries for free cause it was Mother's Day. Definitely will be coming again.
Food was delicious, the portions are huge! definitely recommend it. I had the curry chicken, whick was great.
I love there food. The paella is awesome. This place should be called over sized. Everything they have are really big portions. You definitely get more than your money’s worth. But I’m not complaining. Can’t wait to go back here.
Update Jessica is awesome !! Came in for a revisit and this place still fantastic So let me start off by saying I have never had a shrimp salad sandwich 🥪 with shrimp that large OMG ! Not only were they large but it was PLENTY OF THEM . They do not cheat you on portions ! Now that we got that out the way . This WAS THE BEAT CREAM OF CRAB SOUP EVER ! It was like he placed a whole bushel of crabs in the one bowl jumbo lump it was a magical! The place is so nice and the OWNER BROUGHT US OUT HIS HIME MADE CANDY ! What an amazing place we stayed from about 3pm until 7pm lol enjoying everything! Update : Ema was my server and SHE IS AWESOME ! Let’s get her a raise !
This Vegaterian platter was amazing. The flavor was on point! Unable to finish it was that much food.
Salsa Grill is such a gem! It's a short walk from Antwerpen Nissan, where I have been getting my cars for years and previously, I did a lot of work in the Security area. I eat here every chance I get. The food is authentic and so full of flavor. The service is always fabulous. Today, I had the pleasure of being served by Katia, who was super attentive, professional, and all-around lovely. Now, I can't wait for my next oil change! 🤣🤣 Today, I had the chicken tamales that looked (and were) so tasty, I jumped in before taking a picture. Then, I had the Paella Caesar Salad...SO DELICIOUS!!😋😋
Everything on the menu is outstanding! Just go and order the Caribbean Paella and you will hunger for more, and more, and more!
One of my FAVORITE dive spots however, the prices are NOT dive prices... Prepare to spend however, the food is delicious and the portions are ridiculous. Recommend cream of crab soup, Caribbean paella, Grilled chicken Cesar salad, and shrimp salad are my FAVS...😋
The food is wonderful. They give you a lot on your plate. The staff is friendly, and yes they speak English well! The owner Jay often checked on us and he treats us like family. I love to go here for lunch. Thank you Salsa Grill! This photo is The Paella!
Paella and fried shrimp tasted great. Staff were very welcoming
Great Food and service... I went here with group of 20 people and they did not miss a beat...
Been going there for 20 years. Always delicious food. Everything made from scratch with fresh ingredients. The crab cakes are huge and full of jumbo lump crab meat absolutely amazing. The paellea is a huge portion and delicious. They gave my son a free piece of homemade oreo cheesecake which was gigantic and absolutely delicious.
Out of this world empanadas. They are not Puerto Rican deep fried type, they are baked. One empanada is enough for lunch, i got a two empanada combo and had to take one home. Awesome place! Pretty large on the back, so I think dinner is quite popular there too.
Soooo Delicious!!! Best Chicken Philly within a 100 miles! Great Fries! Excellent Service & Time!
Amazing food my go to is the shrimp cheese steak which in my opinion is undoubtedly the best sub In MD. Hidden gem is an understatement for this place. If you come to Baltimore go to Salsa Grill
Great Peruvian food! Enjoyed the ribs and fried shrimp.
First time eating here and WOW , can't wait until U try Something else
The food was great. We had a party of 11. Everyone got something different. Portions were large and expertly prepared. Service was excellent and we were able to chat comfortably.
The subs are delicious but for some reason, they tasted a little different. Good but not as good as the last one. They have other savory dishes though like the chicken parmesan. Update: I've updated the food to 5 stars. The subs have been on point and delicious since my last post in November. I've ordered one or more per month since then. Whenever I want a sub, that's where I go. I forgot to mention that my siblings have birthday celebrations there as well.
Ate dinner here on a whim with my partner. We got the tapas sampler which was delicious and could be a meal on it's own. For dinner we got the salmon entree and Caribbean paella both were flavorful with large portions. Service was great and the staff made us feel welcome. Will be back for sure.
I love this place and go quite often when meeting up with friends. Service is always good. Food is fresh, tasty, and hot. Don't be deceived by the outside. It is worth stepping inside for their delicious food.
Salsa Grill is one of my favorite places to go when I’m in the area. The food is great and the portions are generous. Servers are very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Stopped in last night while passing through town - and so glad we did. I have to start with the staff - so friendly, so welcoming, it feels like your visiting a friend’s home rather than a restaurants. The tiny joint had a revolving door of take out orders which is always a good sign. The friendly vibe was contagious as the other diners and patrons offered suggestions and recommendations. The food was incredible. Everything was so fresh and flavorful - but make sure you save room for the cheesecake - it’s out of this world.
Today was my first time dining at Salsa Grill. My friend and I were greater with a smile and seated right away. The crab dip was delicious! It was full of lump crab throughout. I ordered the lamb chop special. It came with about 8 lollipop chops with rice and veggies. The lamb was seasoned to perfection and super tender! My friend ordered the seafood Alfredo has also delicious. The servings were generous. I ordered the plain cheesecake to go. I’m used to skimpy slices of cheesecake. The slice is enough for two people! Definitely worth the price. The waitress was attentive and friendly. I can’t wait to go back!!
This was my 1st time visiting and eating at Salsa Grill. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding 👏🏽 and the restaurant was very clean. The prices were fair. My bestie chose this place for our girlfriend outing.
I ordered my grilled chicken Caesar salad with shrimp from the Salsa Grill because it is my favorite salad in the whole world and I have been eating that salad consistently since 1998. My order was $26 and the nice lady who works there and I were talking and I mentioned to her how long I have been eating the salad from their restaurant and she gives me my order free of charge and said today is my day to bless you the way you have been blessing us for almost 30 years. I was overwhelmed by her kindness, but appreciative that my support mattered to her. if you have never tried that salad and their food you are cheating yourself and the crab soup is phenomenal. Thank you, salsa grill and I will continue to be a customer
I love Salsa Grill and I have since the 90s! Their portion sizes are huge, food is amazing!
Important Details GOOD: Food, Service BAD: Price - depends on the customer Salsa Grill was a pleasent surprise. They were the lucky beneficiary that my "go to buffet" was closed tonight. A good turn of fate as my carribean paella was excellent - and heaping! The service was very good, friendly and accomodating. The Paella was fresh, varied, HUGE, and supports all the customer fanfare The menu is toward the steeper end in price given the genre and atmosphere of the restaurant. Many dishes are 14+ and most appetizers +10 The paella was 27.00. Here is the rub, if you pace yourself and leave with leftovers you feel happy and know you got two/three meals for the price. If you let loose and eat the mountain, you will be reeling from carbish coma and drop a decent amount of money for your meal. Don't do it :) Win win to leave with left overs and enjoy it the next night. Give Salsa Grill a try, the quality in food is worth it.
Food is quite pricey but they do give great portions. The food is good but not exactly great. Nice and cozy atmosphere and the waitress was very nice. We never had to ask for refills on drinks. Would definitely return to try something else.
Eaten here multiple times and always satisfied. From Baby Back Ribs, to Calf Liver, Cat Fish, and desserts 🍨, all good!! Daily specials are always interesting. Never k ow what they'll be featuring, yet tempted to try. Looks small when you first walk in, but walk towards rear and dinning room opens up. The waitresses are very attentive and accommodating. The chefs interact with guests about the food (its presentation and taste). Two kitchens ensure fast service. 😋 The kitchen and the bathroom are pretty clean. Very cozy lil spot! I'm sure to be there, again. Update: Went there again!!! Got Pescada Frito (Fried Fish) and Cheese Cake. It was goood!!
The veggie sub is literally every vegetable in the joint, slathered in provolone and grease, shoved into a sub roll. It's kinda great. It might be better if they ease up on the veggies actually. Extra mushrooms, onions, green and red peppers - yes! Broccoli and celery - pass. The sweet potato waffle fries were a pleasant surprise, too. It was kinda hard to justify 15 bucks for a sub and fries, but the heft of those fries made everything okay. Would definitely come back for a quick takeout order.
Casual place with seating upfront and in the back. A little more than I expected but the portions are big. Good for eating alone or with friends or a group. Take out available.
I haven't been to Salsa Grill in a while but I went last Thursday I had a taste for their Shrimp Chowder it's one of my favorites along with so many of the dishes that they make I have no problem with the atmosphere the food or the service my problem is with the surcharge as I was leaving I noticed a notice on the door that said as of January 2025 there would be a 3% surcharge along with a gratuity for 10 or less people as well as a gratuity of a higher amount for 10 people or more I have no problem with the gratuity charges I think everyone deserves to be paid for their service but the surcharge is something that I have an issue with and for that reason I will no longer be patronizing Salsa Grill
A very quiet and chill place to have lunch. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is pretty good, and the portion sizes are HUGE.
I wish I could give two reviews…one for the food(5 stars) and one for the service(1 star). I had the Carne Asada which came with stuffed potatoes. The steak was huge and the potatoes were stuffed with some kind of meat and tasted totally great. The chef sent out samples of this shrimp in a tasty rue. My waitress forgot to put in my appetizer of chips in and when prompted after 20 min she informed us that the carry out was extremely busy. But then the only other table that entered the restaurant after us of four people received all their food. Chips should not take longer than four plates of food. Then my steak took another undefined period of time to come out.
Food was a bit bland but the service was great!
Food is always good, but why was I waiting for my food ? It was sitting on the rack waiting to be picked up. I stood to question as the young lady had her back to me talking. I've been before and will go back because again the food is good and they give you your monies worth However, can we go back to customer service done right, PLEASE. . Noted, the crab cake was a little in the bready side.
Way too expensive for at par (at best) food. $18 cream of crab soup with way more cream than crab?? The soup container fits in the palm of my hand. Web prices are old so you get hit with the Bait and switch when you get there. I really want to support local restaurants. I was so disappointed.
Don't trust the reviews Please make sure and ask specific questions regarding your meal before any disappointment 😥 Ordered the Caribbean Paella, Was told that it could be made a little more spicy so I did and was quite excited. The disappointment was brutal Was served with a flavorless fajita over yellow rice oh and the added heat was done with a crust of dried red crushed pepper that literally made everything even worse I'd encourage the restaurant to be true to the clients It's sad when the food business takes advantage of the customers and serves them with made up dishes and not to mention with a higher than market pricing. BTW 😂 Gulf shrimp is nothing other than Chinese still fried shrimp served with a Cesar salad. I'm sure this place might be someone's favorite. But for those who are seeking Authentic and Tasty Food it is for whom I write this.
0/10 DO NOT recommend. I used to eat here frequently before the pandemic. Decided to order lunch today (a Paella Caesar Salad) and to my shock and disgust, found a SOILED BANDADE in my salad!!! What's worse, I called and asked for the owner and was told she wasn't there. After being put on hold, she came to the phone and instead of express regret over my tainted food, she hung up on me. I went to Salsa Grill to further address the issue with the owner and was met w/excuses, denials, and her calling the police on me. I will NEVER darken the door of this place again. O out of 10, I DO NOT recommend!
I asked for medium well and they served me this dry flavor less steak then I asked to speak to a manager and then she tried to tell me that this was medium well smh that I paid 33.90 , then said she could only give me 25% of my money back . Worst service and poor food quality
Food was extremely DRY and BLAND and whatever it was they topped my stuffed shrimp with tasted as if it had gone bad neither was it stuffed with imperial crab and lobster as they say.
If I could give this place a ZERO, I would. My family and I were food poisoned by this place. When I reported it to the manager, she completely disregarded everything I shared with her over the phone. She even refused to offer a refund...nor did she apologize. She lacked compassion, and made it quite clear that it's about the money. However, I'm sure if it happened to her and her family at a restaurant, she'd want some sympathy. Nevertheless, my family and I won't be patronizing Salsa Grill ever again. I'm also reporting them to the Health Department.
