The appetizers were amazing. Really friendly service. Isabel was so friendly and lovely. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The garlic bread was incredible. Prices were reasonable. We found this place by accident because our regular restaurant was closed for vacation, but we will definitely be back. I totally recommend this for any occasion!❤️
This place was absolutely adorable! Small, cozy atmosphere with excellent service. The food was phenomenal 😋 I couldnt help digging before I got a picture. The sauce and pasta was perfect. Didnt need to add anything to the dish and even used the fresh bread to wipe up every last bit of sauce left.
This is my go to place. I have so many memories here and I've brought everyone I know to eat here. The family who own the place are always so nice and friendly and the food is consistently great. I've been there so many times and I'm leaving this review because I want others to experience the love I have. (I'd recommend the caprese salad) (edit: just had their brownie and ice cream dessert. Absolutely perfect)
My husband and I, Philip visit here quite often. We always loved Joshua's, since being sold we tried Allison's. One visit was enough to repeatedly come back! Isabelle and Miguel greeted us with open arms and very quickly we felt like family. Not only is the atmosphere beautifully decorated but the food is totally awesome, plus clean, clean, clean!!!! This by far is the BEST restaurant in Woodstock please do not do a drive by, stop you will not regret it and like us, be repeat customers!! KUDOS to the hardest working young family in the business..xoxox.
This is a beautiful restaurant with a warm and friendly staff. The food was fantastic. I loved the churrasco and the penne a la vodka. The mussels were delicous aswell. I highly recommend coming here after visiting the trails!
Wow excellent breakfast. Loved the huevos rancheros and egg specials. Pancakes were perfect. Every bite delicious. Service excellent and warm. I can tell so much thought was put into each plate. Perfect seasoning on everything! What a gem of a place.
We stopped in by chance while on vacation and were delighted with our meal. The fajita special was a generous portion of perfectly seasoned meats and veggies. Drinks, soup, salad and pasta were also delicious. Attentive staff and a charming view of the downtown area. Would highly recommend.
We have gone to Allison's restaurant 4 or 5 times before and loved the food! The servers are pleasant and helpful. A nice atmosphere and very clean. Prices are similar to other good restaurants. 👍
From the moment I walked into the restaurant, the experience was excellent. The service was fast, friendly, and very attentive, which made me feel welcome right away. The atmosphere was clean, pleasant, and cozy, with a simple yet warm décor, highlighted by thoughtful details like small flower arrangements on each table. As for the food, every dish was a delight with every bite. I tried eggs with beans and salsa, perfectly balanced: the rich flavor of the beans, the freshness of the salsa, and the touch of cheese created a spectacular combination. I also enjoyed a ham and melted cheese sandwich that was simply succulent and full of flavor, with an irresistible creamy texture. The coffee deserves a special mention: aromatic, strong, and delicious, the perfect companion to breakfast and a great way to finish off the meal. In summary, this place combines great service, quick attention, a spotless and inviting environment, and flavorful, generous dishes. Definitely a spot I will return to and recommend without hesitation.
Food was delicious! My husband ordered the filet and shrimp special, the sauce was amazing, if they sold it in jars I would have brought some home with me. I ordered the chicken panini and a white sangria, so tasty and very filling. We did have to go find someone to seat us when we arrived, everyone seemed to be very busy. Totally understandable with a small business but I don't remember seeing a sign when we walked in like wait to be seated or we will be with you shortly, which would have been good. We made the drive from West Shokan and it was definitely with it. If I visit the area again I will definitely go back for another meal!
My husband and I came to woodstock for our anniversary, we had dinner at Allison’s restaurant the first night - and it was so delicious we came again the second night. The food was amazing , the drinks were out of control and the staff was so friendly! We would drive the 1hr 20 for a dinner here! 10/10 recommend
Such a cute restaurant in Woodstock! I ordered the chicken marsala and my boyfriend ordered the chicken Francese, and both were absolutely delicious! I came with my boyfriend's family, which included a one-year-old baby and a small dog, as a group of 8. The restaurant allowed us to bring in the dog and had a seat for the baby, so they were very accommodating. The mixed food platter wasn't my favorite, but the mango pineapple smoothie was delicious! I also ordered the soup with my pasta and the chicken and rice soup was delicious as well. Despite having a big group, they were pretty good with keeping up with us and our big order during a busy time of day. I genuinely had a great experience here and would be so happy to come back. To be honest, my boyfriend's dish was even better than my chicken marsala, and the chicken marsala is so good!
We were in town for a few days to celebrate what would have been our son’s 33rd birthday. Jace always loved going to Woodstock and we always would have lunch at Joshua’s. We were happy to discover Allison’s had opened in the former Joshua restaurant location, and decided to give it a try. Everything about our experience was absolutely perfect. Allison’s is named after the owners’ 5 year old daughter. We were served by Allison’s mom, Isabel who is sweet as can be. She asked what our names were and then remembered them. We met her husband Miguel who is a phenomenal chef. He came out and chatted with us, showed us a photo of the adorable Allison and gave us a tour of the upstairs, which is just as beautiful as the main dining room. Our dinners were delicious and the couple was so sweet! We came back the next morning for breakfast which was also wonderful. We will be returning to this beautiful restaurant every time we go to Woodstock which is at least once a year. We wish this family owned restaurant all of the success in the world and I hope this review encourages you to stop by for a fabulous meal
Friendly welcoming environment, food was great! We came once for breakfast and once for dinner and both were delicious and very well priced! Great service. Coffee drinks were hot and tasty too. As a local who has worked in many Woodstock restaurants, it is so nice to have a restaurant in town that locals can actually afford, and also have a yummy meal. We’ll be coming back to Allison!
We were visiting Woodstock with a large party, and an online search yielded Allison's as one of a few well-rated spots that would not only be open to large groups, but also welcoming to a pet who was traveling with us. The restaurant is homey and cottage-like, both inside and out. The menu has a diner-like variety and everyone from our youngest to our oldest eaters found something they wanted. Everything across the board was decent and well-seasoned. Feeling particularly peckish, I ordered their cheeseburger hero, which turned out like a classic chopped cheese sandwich. I really appreciated the warmth and flexibility of the service here. The members of our party were arriving at all different times, but our waitress was quick to drop by our table and collect orders from the newest arrivals. We have a few picky eaters in our group, but the kitchen was open and welcoming to their modifications. Other servers kept our water glasses filled, and sizable lollipops were doled out to all the kiddos in our groups at the end of our meal (to their great delight).
Stopped by for lunch today - Friday afternoon. Only one other table was occupied at the time. Great restaurant appeal from outside and in. Entrance is beautiful and elegant. Nice, clean bathroom(one). Food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Ordered a French onion soup(came out less than 2 min after order placed) and a Ruben. Soup presentation was 10/10, Looks picture worthy. Quality? Not a bad French Onion but nowhere near my expectations after looking at the pictures online, and SEEing what was brought out. The look of it made my expectations high. Turns out, they put a slice of cheese on top, and torched it to melt and blacken(no bake/broil possible in the time it took them to make it. 5/10 soup (I’m very critical of my food so don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, but not what I’d expect after looking at the pictures of their food online). The Ruben was slightly overpowered by sauerkraut, they put it on both sides of the bread. There was a part of the sandwich that was just bread and sauerkraut, no meat(1/4 of sandwich). Sweet potato fries? 10/10. This was my favorite part of the meal. Not sure how the vibe is here on a weekend or a busy time. Involving drinks into the experience may have you overlook little discrepancies in the meal but I’m a foodie. I pick where I eat based on reviews and pictures. My opinion isn’t driven by drinks and the “quality of time spent here with company”(I’m usually just stopping for a lunch break while working on the road). I rate a place based on food and service. Waitress was quick to come up and serve me, friendly and provided input when I asked for it. Not bad for the price, I’m curious how a different meal would have changed in my experience, but that’s a thought for another day if I’m back in this area. 6/10 overall. Rounding it up to 4/5 stars. Didn’t have anything totally ruin my experience to give a mediocre rating, but honestly expected more from the pics and reviews that I saw.
If you don't know what you want to eat, you want lots of options, and you just want to eat something so you're not hungry anymore, Allison's is the place for you. If you want to sit down and know you're going to have a meal that makes you close your eyes and thank whatever god or goddess you follow for the food on your plate, look elsewhere. The service was great. This 2 guys killed Valentine's day night serving upstairs and downstairs. We were in and out within 2 hours I think. We ordered the Valentine's Day empanadas, the salmon special, shrimp and scallop scampi, 1 cocktail, a beer, and we had the brownie and ice cream for dessert. The food was okay. We left full and the whole meal came to a little over $130. The empanadas were the star of the night and we honestly would've been satisfied with 2 orders of those. The glazed salmon on sticky rice and veggies was decent but not something I'd order again. The shrimp and scallop scampi had overcook scallops and the shrimp felt rushed, which was stink because we both love seafood. We saw that other people had issues in the post with their fish and we're hoping it was just a fluke but I guess not. I think if Allison's removed 1 or 2 pages from their 4 or 5 page menu their chefs would be able to focus on the food and being it to the next level.
Service is attentive and friendly, the breakfast dishes are good. The falafel sandwich was just ok needed more flavor. It's like a family cozy diner type spot.
Regrettable.. Somewhat high prices. It's a tough business no doubt in a tourist heavy town.. Food was just ok (everyone's order).. Tasted ok, looked ok, portion size was questionably on the small side for the price, just shy of 4 star wow, a bit off from 5 star amazing. Maybe it was an off day and timing was off. The atmosphere was nice, crowd started to fill in, helluva corner spot. Left there feeling we'll pass it up next visit and try a different place.
Quaint little restaurant. The atmosphere was nice. The decor was pleasing the food. On the other hand, stunk cold we run at the Italian wedding soup tastes like I just took it out of a can. It was tepid at best warm pasta. Pastina was mushy. I ordered seafood fried Diablo. The sauce was overpowered by sugar. The calamari. The shrimp was a little tough. My granddaughter got the scallops with mashed potatoes. Scallops were a little tough overcooked mashed potatoes or bland tasteless. They need a new cook. Simple
We entered this place and were not greeted by a host. A worker saw us enter and said we can sit there and pointed to a table. We looked at the menu and contemplated ordering from the special menu but decided on the lobster combo special. It came with a soup which we chose the “butternut squash. The color of the soup was appealing, but the taste wasn’t. It was lacking salt and flavor and it tasted like pumpkin and nothing like butter nut squash. Our food came out and looked impressive, but the seafood was overcooked especially the lobster and scallops. The lemon butter sauce it was served with was the best tasting item on the plate . We used the bread served to sop up the sauce. We also ordered fried sweet plantains that were not ripe enough. Overall I would bypass this restaurant. Save your money and go somewhere else!!!
After eating at this restaurant, I looked up and read the reviews. I can’t believe there are so many five star reviews of this very mediocre and expensive restaurant. The prices are insanely high for what you get on your plate. The service is great. The ambience is great, but the food is not worth the money.
