Bistro To Go is my go to for lunch or dinner whenever I'm within 10 miles of their spot. Healthy, conscientiously prepared, high quality food. I have literally had hundreds of meals prepared by Richard and his staff and have yet to be disappointed. Friends ask me for recommendations from the menu to which I usually shrug and say: "It's all excellent". Peak hours during tourist season and on weekends it can be very busy which is a reflection of their reputation and consistent quality.

I found Blue Mountain Bistro by chance on the web and couldn’t have been happier or luckier! They provided platters and salads for a post funeral lunch and were very helpful with what and how much I should order, at a time when my mind was distracted with other things. All the food was fresh, delicious and beautiful, and it was the exact right amount. This is real food. The service was very professional. I would use them again for any occasion.

Bistro to Go is an excellent resource in our community for well thought out, good quality, tasty dishes. I go there for lunch with a friend or to pick up food to go either to add a dish or two to a party I give or attend. The food is always delicious and fresh. I've asked them to cater my tent party and it worked out very well. They brought the food on time, laid them out nicely, sent helpful, polite staff, and my guests and I loved the food esp. their Mediterranean seafood salad, roast chicken, hummus, green salad and green sides. The owners are very nice and generous people. I'd highly recommend it; it makes it easy to follow the axiom, "Patronize local businesses."

Bistro-to-Go is my home away from home for superb food. I go there for lunches, dinners and snacks at least two or three times a week. Richard and Mary Anne Erickson are wonderful owners, and the chefs and staff are friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Eat in, take out, the food is always of great variety, quality and flavor.

They catered a bridal shower I threw for my cousin and they did an absolutely phenomenal job. Not only was the food fantastic and so fresh, the service was beyond what I expected. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for some delicious food!

Went for my moms birthday to pick up her favorites. They didn't have one of the items, and were considering making it later. I asked for an estimate and they let me know when they thought it would be ready so I planned to come back. When I got there, they had it set aside for me specially. They even wrote happy birthday to her on the container. While it might not seem like much, it was my first time being in state on my mother's birthday in 15 years and they helped make it a very nice day. As for the food, it was all great. Loved the chicken burger, salmon, and all the vegetable sides they had. All in all a really great place to stop.

But recently, we had the pleasure of using their small-party catering service—twice—and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Planning a party menu can be a headache, but Sophie, a seasoned 11-year veteran of the Bistro team, made both events completely stress-free. We simply shared the occasion and the number of guests, and she provided thoughtful, spot-on recommendations that took all the guesswork out of the process. From a well-balanced, crowd-pleasing menu to just the right quantity of food, everything was beautifully organized. We also opted to hire one of their professional servers—highly recommend! They not only delivered and served the food, but also managed all the cleanup and left our kitchen spotless. Especially as I was recovering from a leg injury, Sophie went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly—her calm professionalism and attention to detail were invaluable. The food was consistently fresh, beautifully presented, and served with all the proper tools and setup—our guests were truly impressed. The second event even involved a surprise cake presentation, and with Sophie’s help, it was flawlessly executed and became a highlight of the evening. We’re so grateful for the care and quality that Blue Mountain Bistro brings to their catering, and we’ll absolutely continue to support this wonderful local gem. Everything we’ve bought there has been top notch. Food is delicious. The people working there on the front counter (front lines) are efficient, courteous, pleasant, and seem to have endless patience with experienced customers and new ones. I stopped there during COVID. They had a good policy in place. The staff were tolerant of those who ignored the sign on the door or couldn’t read. I know I once came into store because someone was around the right side corner and I didn’t see them. Someone left when I realized my mistake so no problem. I understand why the Ericsons decided to go this route rather than the restaurant. I miss the restaurant. I think I will get married again, or find another excuse for a party.

I have been coming here every couple three weeks for many years which tells you all you really need to know but here goes anyway... The cooked and baked items, in terms of preparation, taste, and variety, is excellent with many staples as well as a rotating menu. The shelves with packaged goods and the refrigerated products are well stocked. Equally, if not most important, is that Richard and his staff, beyond being knowledgeable, are professional, patient, and always personable. The managers Beth and Sophie, as well as Autumn, Alyssa, Tolly, and Olivia, deserve special mention. I am fairly certain all the other employees share in those traits but names escape me as my memory is faulty. All take pride in their work and it shows.

We love Blue Mountain Bistro! We go there weekly and often pick up their delicious premade food to heat up for dinner. The salmon and beef are always exceptional, and the Brussels sprouts are a standout. All the sides are fresh, and the dessert area is fantastic. They also have some nicely curated grocery items. Stopped in for the first time today to grab some quick things for dinner. Everything was delicious! The potato salad was amazing, my husband and I both agreed it was the best we’ve ever had. Love Bistro to go! We ordered a bunch of wraps and appetizers for my sons first Birthday party and we couldn’t be happier! Everyone raved about how good the food was and the fresh baked brownie/cookie platter was delicious. Will definitely be ordering from here again for any get togethers or nights my husband and I don’t feel like cooking. The staff is always very pleasant and Sophie was a huge help in getting everything together for us exactly as we wanted. Look forward to ordering from here again very soon.

So impressed by the "small party catering to-go" that we ordered recently for a dinner party we were having. This is not your typical catering, this is delicious fresh flavorful food!! We were so afraid that reheating everything would dry it out, but all could not have been more juicy and perfect (even the steak!). Everyone raved about everything! The green beans and mushrooms were so good I ate them for breakfast the next day. No joke. I also have to give a shout-out to the staff, who were all so helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be back for help with our next party!

Love every part of the place but I ordered a menu sandwich and what I got wasn't what I ordered. If I ordered custom I'd understand.

Food is excellent, especially when fresh out of the kitchen. Service can be spotty. Counter staff need more supervision.

The reviews raised my expectations too much for the food...was not bad, but not worth going back for. Not rude, but not super friendly overall either. A few of the younger girls were nice, but definitely a tenseness in the air. The 4 stars are because I hate giving less unless it was an awful experience, and it wasn't awful....and the tiramisu from the bakery was good, it is a cute store, and if you were in need of some sandwiches and food for camping or a picnic they have a large selection. A few things to note: Evidently the grill closes as 4 so don't expect anything hot after that. No indoor seating, but a few outside picnic tables. For all of those who really like mask wearing and safe covid protocol, this is your place:-as of June '22 everyone is masked up super good and they strictly only allow 6 customers in the store at a time.

The food was extremely delicious. The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is because I thought it was a little strange that everyone was floating around wearing futuristic rocket shoes. It seemed pretty dangerous and like it wasn't up to fire code. A few times one of the newer employees almost hit me and didn't even apologize; what a jerk. But once again the food was top notch. *kisses fingers* mwah. Nom nom nom.

I would have given 5 stars BUT who thought it was a good idea to put runny scrambled eggs on a sandwich?!? Come on Y'all! Breakfast game is slackin! That's OK still good coffee and pretty much ANYTHING else Bistro To Go makes is slammin! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for reasonably priced on-the-go high quality eats. Keep on keepin' on... LMK when y'all decide to cook your eggs and I will return for breakfast. Who wants a mushy sandwich or egg in their beard? 'Til then... See you at lunch as per usual.

Stopped here for a quick bite on our way to Shandaken! Ordering was quick and easy but also hard with all the great options. We both got the Tuscan sandwhich, and it was SO good. If we stop here on the way home, I would like to tey it with bacon). The bakery was also good. We got a few cookies and a cupcake to share - which surprisingly had caramel in the middle yum!

Food was good and tasty. Loved the desert selection although there was a fly in the case with the thumbprint cookies. The big thing that was wrong was the attitude of the service I recieved from the woman that helped me at the counter if I knew her name I would list it. Since It was my first time there I had some questions about the food displayed and her answers were short with a annoyed tone and her mannerisms displayed she was aggravated by me for asking some questions.

The service is a little slow, but the food is delicious so overall, still worth it! They don't heat up your food unless you explicitly ask them to though, which I didn't realize. 🤯 And I wasn't a huge fan of the type of wrap they used for the vegan thai peanut veg wrap but other than that everything tasted fresh and the peanut sauce was great! 👍 This is also about a 1 minute drive from the onteora lake trailhead so it has that going for it too!

Today, I stopped at the Bistro to buy some pastries. I have a dinner party and wanted to buy some cakes. I waited long but did not mind because I understood they were busy. However, the service person who came to help was very stressed, clearly with no patience, in a rush, no eye contact, nothing that conveyed good service. I wanted to suggest placing the pastry into a nice box since I wanted a better presentation than showing up at my party with a supermarket bag. She responded again in a rush, with no eye contact, "This is all I have," and sent us to pay into the other side, again in a rush. The cakes are good, but when you go to buy food or pastries at a place that is not a supermarket, there is a basic customer service respect that I suggest the owner to implement. Food is good but, I suggest to slow down and listening to the customer. We customers matter.

The food is whatever, but the people are really friendly and the convenience is also what I like. There are many fun things in the window! But none of it is spectacular especially if you know how to cook for yourself. A couple years ago I had something called Greek lasagna and that actually was in the top most delicious things I've ever had in my life. I keep coming back here to try to find it again, but I haven't seen it since. I have only eaten everything out of the window many times though, so I don't know what the ordering menu has to offer. My suggestion is have them make something to order, because I bet that's tastier than the window stuff. But if you do get out of the window, don't get anything fried because the oil tastes funny to me everytime. It doesn't mean it's dirty that's not what I'm saying. Because at my job we actually use really old oil sometimes and I still eat out of it just fine so whatever is up with this oil is new to me. So get something fresh and made to be eaten cold out of the window and not anything that you would reheat.

The meat for their sandwiches is pre-cut and the role that it was on was a day old at best. Mediocre at best!

The food is good but I wish they would wear gloves at the front. Handling food with tongs doesn’t mean you shouldn’t practice food hygiene by wearing gloves, especially if you’re also on the register. I first picked up an order for sandwiches and they asked if I wanted slaw on the side so I said sure. I was shocked when she got it with her bare hands. I like the food but haven’t returned because of this.

This place is just a glorified deli. It is not a restaurant it has been minimal seating in the front of a small ratty little store

Customer service should improve. Suggesting partnering business when you are unavailable is common decency. Companies supporting the Hudson Valley region instead of their own pocketbook is what gives them integrity. Would not recommend BmB to go. Instead, try some of the affordable and family run caterers in Kingston!

Picked up a tray of frozen mac and cheese. It was the WORST mac and cheese of my life, not cheesy at all! It cost nearly $40 and was a HUGE waste of money. The banana bread slice in the bakery was old and hard too, and was not sweet.

I’m very sorry that I need to write this because I think that this is something our area needs desperately. I came here 3 years ago because of a job on the mountain. We stopped on our way and the food was boring. Tasteless. We did get some salmon but it’s salmon. I came back to try again today and is the same. I don’t want to berate an establishment that is obviously staying above water. However, good prepared food is a no brainer. Maria’s Bazaar did it for 20 years. You guys need to hit the bricks to figure out what’s going on because the food is just boring annnnd expensive. Sorry but I was driving home after a long day and figured I’d give you guys a shot. I should of went to shop rite.
