Family and friendly environment. Service was excellent. And the food delicious and fast
Great service!! The food is always so delicious! My family loves to eat here. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Highly recommended!!!
First time eating here but won't be the last! Food was hot and very good! I got Sesame Chicken and hubby got Black pepper chicken. Very nice sized portions. Enough left over for lunch tomorrow! Great job guys! And our server was very attentive and nice. Win-win!
Very delicious food. A lot for your money. Nice place for a date either that special someone!
Really enjoyed. The hot and sour soup was awesome. Garlic Beef very good. Dinner menu includes soup, eggroll, Shrimp and Rangoon for a couple more dollars than the regular meal
I have been eating here off and on for a year and one thing I can say is the food is constant. The staff is always helpful and kind. I have only done pickup orders but I have not been disappointed! Great food for a good price! My go to spot for Chinese cuisine!
Great food and great atmosphere. I really enjoyed some of the new authentic dishes with my family. They aren’t all translated yet, but the waitresses will happily tell you about them. I personally love the #6 Hot and Spicy Chicken and #18 Sautéed Cabbage. But they have a new rib dish that is super tasty, although I can’t quite remember the name and number. The staff was well versed on the menu and very cooperative with food allergies. We also appreciated that they were in compliance with the safety measures during the pandemic. We will be coming back. :)
Ah-mazing!!! Wonderful service, extremely fast! Best dumplings, Lo Mein, and egg rolls in Waco! If you let that crazy 1 star lady deter you from trying this place out, you’re missing out. I had a completely opposite experience from her. I will be coming back often!
We have eaten at Cathay House since '60s when it was ~where HEB @ S Valley Mills & I35 is today. Today we dined there in honor & memory of Mr. & Mrs. Lam and their family, original founders & owners for years. The food was delicious; the service very attentive; and the current owners of ~10 years were more than gracious. Look forward to going back!
I’ve been going to Cathay House for 15+ years and it never disappoints. The New Vietnamese spring rolls is my favorite thing on the menu. Great service, friendly people, and good good food. It’s a staple in Waco!
I love the food here, 10/10. And, the waitresses Angie and Celina are great, great customer service. The hosts were especially nice as well. Very friendly. I had the garlic pork dish with stream rice and it was delicious. The flavor is spectacular. Definitely recommend!
This food was so good I could feel my soul levitating, I was getting tired of my dad always ordering the same type of food (fried rice , Orange chicken and stuff ). And when I saw the same thing I honestly thought the place would be the same like the others. But when I tasted those meat skewers… my jaw dropper I absolutely devoured it. The fried rice was soo good as-well. I 100% recommended this place.
Best Chinese food in Waco! So authentic and the staff is always so kind
We have lived in Waco area a long time. Today was our first experience at Cathay House. We were both very pleased…food was delicious, service was great. I know we will be going back. Had a great experience. Nick made us feel very welcomed.
Place was affordable and the place was nice and clean. Hostess was friendly and welcoming! Food was good a bit spicier than I thought but definitely a good meal. Will come again
Very good food, and awesome service! I HIGHLY recommend this place!
Traditional Chinese food. Brought my family tonight and we enjoyed it. Server was very nice and cordial. I suggest you give it a shot.
Ordered two of the supper combos and some dumplings-Very fresh food not salty, Not covered with lots of sauce that kind the true flavor and texture of the vegetables. Very delicious food. Reasonably priced- Entrée with appetizers and soup $15 where are you gonna get something like that? Owners are attentive. Somewhat dated decor, But get over that and get over here and get delicious food.
Just had dinner here. We ordered egg rolls, black pepper chicken, lo mein, happy family and soup dumplings. It was great. Everything was very flavorful. The customer service was perfect, very warm and welcoming. If you like Chinese food this place is for you. Clean, great service, great food, great atmosphere. I highly recommend.
Great food and a very relaxing atmosphere. If you go on weekends, Max makes a curry dish that is delicious, light, flavorful and fresh. Max was a great and personable server, made the whole experience!
Great service! Fast and friendly. Food was hot and fresh. Crab puffs are excellent and that egg drop soup is delicious!
This is the best food that my family and I crave weekly. The service is amazing and the food is so good.. ☺️ y'all must try
I went here today for dinner and the staff was good very attentive, I had no problems with my meal. The overall experience was good never once had a problem with it, will be coming back again.
Ate here tonight with my family of 5 adults 2 children. The food was excellent and came to our table quickly. The wait staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. We definitely will be coming back next time we are in Waco.
They have excellent service and amazing food. I love their curry and pho, and the people there are extremely friendly. Everything is always quick and fresh and I’ve loved coming here for years
I went with my brother and nephews here and it was wonderful. Most of the food is cooked to order so they can meet the needs of everyone. The service is great, our drinks were never empty. The food was delicious, even my brother who can be hard to please was happy with his Sweet and Sour Chicken. I had General Tso's and it was the best I've ever had. They did not have a lot of business when we went which is a shame because it is a wonderful restaurant!
I love Chinese food. I love Cathay House. Enough said.
So glad we found this spot! This was our first time here but we’ll definitely be back. Our waiter, Nick, did an amazing job of balancing to-go orders with people dining in. We loved everything we had from the sweet and sour chicken to the wonton soup. The restaurant was clean and quiet and the food came out quickly. We didn’t have to wait for refills on our drinks, to go boxes, or the check. Such a nice experience!
This was genuinely one of the best Chinese food places my boyfriend and I have had in a while. He got the combination lo mein dinner combo and I got the orange chicken dinner combo. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The food was incredible and the price was more than reasonable. We definitely got a good amount of food for the price we paid. Highly recommend and would come back here when we are in town again. I don’t know how this place doesn’t have closer to 5 stars!
Amazing authentic food! We had steamed pork dumplings, braised pork, and chicken pho. Customer services and atmosphere were great. The owner even spent time with us explaining the story behind the menu. The menu has authentic recipes you normally do not see at Asian restaurant. Highly recommend this place!
Great food and prices. Good variety of dishes. I'm far but the drive is worth it. 100% recommended
We found this hidden gem today. You need to visit this restaurant. The service was incredible and way beyond the call of duty. The food is fresh and so very tasty. We will be back’
Great food at reasonable prices. Lunch in particular is a good value. Get the 5 flavor shrimp and thank me later. If you are adventurous, the special menu on the back also has great stuff. Braised pork belly, garlic eggplant, mapo tofu, and other more traditional options. Been a Waco classic for decades now, go try it.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant. The people were amazing kind. The food we got was very good and delicious! The atmosphere looks clean and nice! We got take out but will be back soon to eat inside!
Imagine you are a world traveler full of cuisine curiosity! You, in the middle of Waco, Texas, USA, turn the corner on your journey from Hobby Lobby to HEB Wooded Acres. A hunger grumbles in your belly which you hadn’t noticed before. By some miraculous event, there you find, CATHAY HOUSE! This delicious, local, Asian gem is where you find all that your traveler’s tastebuds have been longing for. One bite of your meal takes your buds and mind back to the night market stalls of your favorite Asian city! Beyond an abundance of delicious tastes and treats (both Asian and Asian-American), Cathay House offers quality service with that family feel which assures that this place will soon become your favorite Waco spot.
Best Lil restaurant I've been to in Waco so far, staff is super friendly and helpful with the menu, so was already expecting good things from the food. Had the Mongolian beef, hot and sour soup, and crab puffs. Best I've ever had!😋😋
Cathay House is your bridge between elegant and affordable Oriental food. I encountered bento boxes years ago, but their bento plates would not fit into a single tray. The breaded pork cutlet was crunchy and tender, and the curry sauce provided a savory complement. I think that it is too heavy for a soup, but you could cut it with the ample portion of steamed rice. My only complaint was the excess of tofu in the miso soup, but I attribute that excess to preference and a difference in interpretation. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the moo goo that pan chicken, but she could only comfortably eat half and carried the fried appetizers home. They evidently enjoy a vigorous take-out business, and I heard the manager banter with one of his obvious pick-up regulars. Their menu is diverse, and you would need to visit many times in order to sample even one of their various categories of items. We will certainly return to partake varietally.
My name is Ruben. Came here to eat with my brother, Ordered the Combination rice, happy family and orange chicken. Great food, great atmosphere, great customer service. Highly recommend this place! 💯
Not the best Chinese food I've had. But certainly the best Chinese food within 100 miles!
Me and my spouse dined in with our toddler and service was beyond pleasant. Max was our server and he went above and beyond. Service was very quick and the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Checkout was smooth. We will definitely be back!
First time eating at this place and let me just say…the experience and food was amazing! It had a very neat, quiet atmosphere. Many options of food to choose from. 10 out of 10. Everyone we had contact with was very friendly. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy some great Chinese food.
Dine in experience has always been very good, family and I come in often. Atmosphere is very calm, staff is super nice, food is always great. I enjoy their pork dumplings and steak on sizzling plate! Lunch specials are super cheap for what you get.
This was my first time to eat here and I was very happy with food. The food was light. At most places it is heavy in the tummy. The service great! Atmosphere was nice. I will definitely go back!
First time ordering from here using Door Dash. I ordered the mini pork buns(8) pieces, big pork bun(2)pieces, the Wonton soup, and the fried donuts. Was not disappointed!! Everything was very good. Was full, will finish the Wonton soup later tonight. The fried donuts came with a lot!!. The soup has these large Wontons. Looking forward to trying that. The skin on the mini buns was thin and the pork tasty. The large buns were awesome. Meaty inside, tasty. I also got chili sauce and a soy sauce mixture. Very good!! Definitely recommend this place. Don't miss out.
From out of town went for the first time and all could not have been better. Our waiter Max was great. Prompt and quick. Food came out quickly and was all excellent. We had seafood combination and it wS packed with shrimp and scallops. Also not many places serve egg foo young but they serve it and it was fantastic. My wife had never had it and really enjoyed it. Definitely going back next time we are in town. And thanks again to our waiter Max he was great.
Every single time I come here, I end up leaving with a positive experience and fun story to tell. I come here just for the pho, which is made in-house and you can taste the quality in the rich broth. The people who work there are also so fun to talk to and so genuinely nice, I wish the restaurant long success, and look forward to coming back every time I'm in town!
Best place for Chinese food. Definitely recommend. Very good pricing for lunch specials. Usually eat here once a week.
I love the PHO at Cathay House along with the beef sticks, crab puffs, & Hunan shrimp. We also tried the strawberry tea with Boba today and we will definitely be getting more at our next visit!! Amazing staff as well!
I had seen Cathay House pop up on my researches often and decided to try them out this time. I am sad to tell myself that I had been missing out! 1) The food was so tasty and delicious! We ordered take-out of the egg with tomato, eggplant, eggroll, fried rice, soup dumplings, and a few other things. I can't wait to order the more popular Asian dishes they serve! 2) I ordered takeout via phone with Nick, who was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! He cared SO much about my order. I mixed up two soups in my mind when placing my order with him and he triple-checked with me after I said the original soup I mentioned was good. I will not go into specifics, but I will say, Nick took care of me! I thought it was the sweetest thing ever when we unpacked our takeout order. I have never experienced a more detail-oriented takeout call before. 3) Upon arriving ridiculously early to pick the order up, Nick was so kind and full of smiles. The welcoming and calm vibes were great. Adding to this, I can't wait to dine in as the ambiance was BEAUTIFUL. The ambiance (this is mid-day) was dim, peaceful, quiet, and a place where I look forward to having some chill dinners with friends and family! 4) Adding to #1 (I must re-express my gratitude for their kindness and services), Cathay House went over the top with my order. Again, I won't dive into specifics but, they were amazing! I never experienced a take-out order like this before. I look forward to dining in! 5) The other younger gentleman working during this time (Saturday 2/22/25 mid-day), I wish I asked for your name. Ownership, please post their name here, or if they wish not to, recognize them internally!) was incredibly kind and sweet and held the door open for me which was uncalled for. This goes to show how much service this restaurant provides. I do not provide reviews often, especially for to-go orders. I am also not easily impressed as I am a very easygoing and patient person, which I believe now is why, with a take-out order, I felt obligated and inspired to make this review from my experience with this restaurant. Thank you, Nick and the unnamed staff member who went over the top, were so kind, and truly showed they cared. I absolutely love the chill/calming vibes and tasty food you have! Lastly to all reading this review, please remember to be kind and tip well to those who do services for you.
The food at this establishment is exceptional. I ordered the rice noodles without vegetables, and the dish was both flavorful and satisfying. The staff were courteous, attentive, and highly professional. I would highly recommend this place to others.
An absolute gem and staple for me. Every time we come here service is excellent and food is always delicious and made fresh. The staff is incredible. There's so many great dishes it's always hard to choose but you can't go wrong with the pineapple fried rice.
My wife and I were craving Asian food, so we decided to stop in. We ordered several appetizers and our entrees, and everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. While the food was absolutely great, even if it had sucked I'd still be giving this restaurant 5 stars based on service alone. Our waiter, Max, was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and professional. He recommended the chicken curry to my wife, and we later found out that he makes it himself on the weekends. I'm not the biggest curry fan, but after trying some, it made me wish I had ordered it instead! Price-wise, you are definitely getting more than you pay for. Dining in, we ordered 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 1 drink, all for $47. I was actually quite shocked to see such a small bill for the quality and quantity of food we had. If you enjoy great food, great service, great prices, and a great atmosphere, you've got to go to Cathay House.
The boss and staff are super kind and welcoming! The food is always fresh and everything smells so delicious. I’ve been going here with my family for years and haven’t had a single bad experience. There’s a very calm atmosphere with pretty music and the staff get along very well.
Cathay House recently orchestrated a symphony of flavors and heartfelt moments, enchanting us with its culinary prowess and genuine hospitality. From the moment we stepped through its doors, a world of culinary delights unfurled before us, ready to unveil its treasures. Joined by my wife and our two eager young companions, we embarked on an unforgettable culinary voyage that exceeded all expectations. The inviting ambiance enveloped us, setting the stage for a remarkable experience. Each dish, a culinary masterpiece. My wife's selection, the "Hunan Delight with lo mein noodles," paired exquisitely with a soothing coconut milk tea, creating an intricate dance of flavors on her palate. I ventured into the "Sweet and Sour chicken with lo mein noodles," accompanied by a Hot and Sour Soup that harmonized textures and tastes with finesse. Our extraordinary waiter, Nick, elevated our dining journey to new heights. His genuine dedication to enhancing our experience was evident in his attentive service and adept menu knowledge. It was through Nick's engaging guidance that we discovered the enchanting narrative behind the meticulously hand-painted artwork that adorned the entire back area, a detail that deepened our connection to the establishment. In the midst of this culinary symphony, a heartwarming interaction with the food runner, a gracious Elder lady whose name remains a fleeting memory, painted an endearing portrait of the establishment's genuine care. Her welcoming smile and thoughtful gestures resonated deeply, particularly when my wife requested chili oil. The food runner's return, with chili oil in hand and a heartwarming aura, perfectly encapsulated the warmth that permeates Cathay House. The genuine encounters with Nick and the food runner epitomize the essence of Cathay House, a place where exquisite flavors blend seamlessly with authentic connections. Cathay House is a harmonious composition where culinary artistry merges with heartfelt hospitality, creating an experience that is truly unforgettable. In conclusion, we wholeheartedly endorse Cathay House to those in search of a culinary escapade that ignites the senses and touches the soul. Brace yourself for a journey of culinary wonders and sincere interactions, where every bite and every exchange contribute to a symphony of lasting memories.
The restaurant only had a few people there which made it nice. The waiter was just perfect. Attentive, knowledgeable, and was super helpful. The food was just perfect. I've been coming here for over 30 years and it just never disappoints. Today I had the shrimp in garlic sauce with fried rice, an egg roll, and hot and sour soup. The portion was a decent size so I've got a small dinner later. If you've never been I certainly recommend that you give it a shot.
We had a great time and meal at Cathay House this evening. Every time we are here the food is excellent and I am so glad to have it Cantonese style. Tonight was special because I met our server, Kevin, for the first time. He made excellent suggestions and provided excellent service. I will be asking for him again and you should too. Enjoy. Thank-you again, Kevin.
We wanted to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse. We had a delicious and affordable lunch here with great service. Everything was cooked from fresh. We'll be back.
Cathay House is the best Chinese restaurant in Texas! I’m from Japan, and their dishes remind me of home. The Mapo Tofu is my absolute favorite, but I also love their orange chicken. On weekends, they even serve Japanese dishes. I had their curry rice, and it was so delicious. The customer service is wonderful too. Everyone is kind, the atmosphere is calm and quiet, and the prices are very affordable. Compared to other Asian restaurants, their food is on another level. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic food with great service, I promise you won’t regret visiting Cathay House.
I took my girlfriend here and we were sat quickly and received great service. Chill authentic atmosphere. We ordered the crab puffs and mixed dim sum to start and then we shared the Cathay House pho and pineapple fried rice. Both were delicious and prepared quickly and well. Never had an empty glass. Reasonable prices too only $40 for two people with a ton of leftovers. Will definitely be coming again!
We ordered food online through uber eats. The items that we ordered are fried rice with shrimp, lo mein noodles with vegetables and crab puff. All the food tasted good to us. Quantity was good. Crab puff is one of my favorites and I liked this one too. But one thing that disappoint me is they didn’t provide any condiments with the order. Forgot to take photos before starting eating.🫢
This is my favorite Oriental restaurant in town. The food is always fresh and hot. They have an extensive lunch menu that is very reasonably priced, but their serving sizes are much smaller in the past few months. They also quit serving an egg roll with lunch and replaced that with two small spring rolls. They’re okay, but I greatly prefer their egg rolls. The reason we spend $10+ per person is because we like to get the chicken wings and the crab puffs to share. Otherwise food cost would be less than $10 per person at lunch. The service today was quite slow even though they were not busy, but it was her first day, so I’d giver some grace on that. We’ll keep going back! (I would give them 5 stars if their serving sizes had not gotten so much smaller.)
Everything was good, except the fried rice seemed to be just fried with soy sauce. No veggies or pork or anything other than just rice. Enjoyed Everything else, pepper steak, butterfly shrimp, crab rangoon, egg roll, and egg drop soup.
Food and service was great. Not to crowded for it's size. It was just hard to find for the 1st time. We will be back!
Best hot sour soup anywhere. Fried rice is different, it’s brown without any other ingredients like the usual fried rice. Wait staff was excellent, courteous and polite. Entrees have all been good, plenty hot and quick out from the kitchen.
Had not dined at Cathay House in years. They were busy, so dishes, from customers who had dined & left, were still on tables. We were seated, but it took a while for a waiter to come to our table. A very soft spoken, kind young man, waited on us. They have a lunch special menu, $7.+ - $8.+. My spouse ordered Spring rolls, for appetizers. They brought them to us on badly chipped dishes. I later told the waiter, guests dining at my home would never be served on chipped dishes & it was an insult, as a customer, to be served on dishes that needed to be tossed out! ** The spring rolls, though tasty, were more dough than veggie filling, but the red, sweet sauce is excellent. My spouse got beef & broccoli & I got chicken w/cashews. Both were delicious. However, we had never had fried rice without tiny bits of veggies in the rice .. it was not that tasty. The pork egg roll was so good, my spouse ordered another one. The waiter failed to bring our soup, so we were full and requested he not serve it. He was very apologetic for the error, but on his behalf, they were quite busy.
I used to love going to this restaurant, but in recent months, the quality of the food has suffered. It seems as if most of the dishes have an off-putting fishy taste. I suspect that the same frying oil get used for both seafood and non-seafood dishes and/or the oil is not fresh. I sure hope they can improve in this area as I would like to go back.
This was our first trip to the Cathay House. As far as Chinese restaurants go in Waco, it's probably among the better ones, but then the bar is fairly low. Both entrees - General Tso & Sesame Chicken - were decent, but a bit "soggy". I would go back and give it another try.
Ordered on Grubhub. Specifically checked the yes for utensils. They neglected to include them sand I’m in a hotel. Not helpful. Also the hot and sour soup is not good. Entree was decent. Do better.
Only come for lunch. Its a better deal The food is better also with extras The fried rice is NOT good its just rice with brown soy sauce on it ...passing as fried rice Blahch!!!!on the bright side ✨️ Great service and staff during lunch hours Don't try sweet and sour shrimp ,Too much breading made me ill for a day Better than chopstix
Veggie fried rice had an odd flavor, as did the pork fried rice. Sweet and sour chicken was ok. Crab puffs were good. Was on the pricey side for 2 orders of rice, sweet and sour chicken and an appetizer and 1 drink was $50. Portions were decent and the girl that took my order was nice.
I've been eyeing this place for awhile. I seen a few pictures that convinced me and the food smells really good. However, I was deceived in my opinion. I ordered the Lo Mein with shrimp and it was okay, I didn't really enjoy it like I thought I would. The shrimp could've been seasoned just a bit more. The noodles weren't that bad, but it could've been better. It all had a strange taste, especially afterwards. But that's my personal opinion, I recommend you try it for yourself if it looks interesting to you.
Waiter did not know half of our order was seasonal and not available. Pad Thai has real fish sauce which was good. Sweet and sour pork batter was not done. Waiter did not fill our water. We kept running dry. Manager did come out and help us order new items. Was very polite. We left more than half of our plates.
I enjoyed the atmosphere here. The lighting is dim and comfortable. They did seem a little short staffed but everywhere pretty much is. I ordered orange chicken. It was just okay. I prefer white meat for orange chicken and not dark meat. Theirs is made with dark meat. My husband ordered spicy tangy chicken. It was not great. Our son ordered generals and it was decent. Their pork fried dumplings was absolutely amazing! Great taste and the dipping sauce was spot on. Fried to a nice golden perfection. The egg drop soup was also delicious. The wonton sauce though was served very chilled and way too tangy. Definitely would be better warmed and a bit sweeter.
Used to visit this establishment back when Kathy owned it and it was great. Haven’t been in a few years due to decline in quality and service. Went in today, and just as expected, terrible! 45 minutes for our appetizer and over an hour and a half for entree that tasted like fast food. Save your time and money and go to Panda Express. They need to re staff and re train. Could have ordered McDonald’s chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce and had a 100% better experience.
NONE of the food has ANY FLAVOR. I mean zero.... ordered fried rice and it was just like eating air. Rice is mushy - clumped together... starts resembling more of a "rice paste." Wonton soup (again) absolutely no flavor. WEIRD. I mean their food is literally just devoid of any taste! Apparently it is actually known around the area that this is a "no go" chinese place... wish I would have known before wasting my money ):
Multiple dirty tables, waited over 20 minutes for our drinks, they served some wonton chips with cold sweet and sour sauce, they took our order, waited 15 minutes, another 10, another 10, finally left after waiting nearly an hour for our food. This place is a joke. How has this place gone down hill so badly. This used to be a staple of Waco, now it's trash
just spent $60 on some of the worst takeout we've ever tried. only thing decent were the egg rolls but their sweet and sour seemed diluted out with water. we also ordered orange chicken, general tso chicken, chicken lo mein, and hot and sour soup. the orange and general tso sauces were indistinguishable from eachother. they also seemed watered down which is probably why their chicken peices were disgustingly soggy/slimy, very off-putting texture. fried rice was wack- should be described as steamed rice covered in dark soy sauce. soup had a weird flavor going on that was gross as well. lo mein was not as terrible as everything else but still lacking in flavor unfortunately. overall very disappointed and shocked this place has any good reviews at all.
This was the absolute worst chinese food I've ever had. I got the pork baos, and frankly they seemed like frozen baos from the grocery store. The fried rice was just rice with soy sauce, absolutely no veggies and it wasn't even friend. Just cooked. The general Tsos was soggy and spongy in consistency. 0/10. Terrible food
Based on the 4.1 star review for this restaurant, I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, I immediately smelled chemicals, and it was very unappealing. However, I still wanted to try the food and went against my instinct to turn around and walk out. I was seated quickly and greeted by my server named Kerrigan. She was very polite and attentive to my needs. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken lunch combo with steamed white rice and the won ton soup. The soup was quite flavorful. The chicken was tender but tasted bland and the white rice was nothing more than a sticky white rice, scooped up and plopped on the plate. It wasn't even neat. The chicken had large chunks of white onion, green bell pepper, and a few slivers of sliced carrots. I'm used to sweet and sour chicken having added pineapple, but it was missing in this dish and so I was not impressed with it at all. And to add, I overheard the man sitting at the next table talk about the onions he had in his sweet and sour chicken. He said "if I were to eat those dinosaur sized onions, I would still be tasting them into next week." I laughed and said Sir, I agree." If you've ever had really good Chinese food, I wouldn't recommend this place unless you want oversized onions in your food and an aftertaste of what smelled like fabuloso. In closing, I ordered a side of their fried rice. As you can see in the picture, it is nothing to rave about. It's simply their steamed white rice douse in soy sauce. No carrots, no peas, no large onions, No Flavor. This restaurant gets a D- for my disappointment.
Firstly, I’d like to say that our server was excellent and attentive. She was great. Second, I don’t like writing bad reviews but the food here was awful. I feel like it used to be a lot better and perhaps the kitchen staff needs better training or to be replaced. Also, our dishes and utensils were dirty. Even for American style Asian food it was terrible. The Pad Thai that my wife ordered was unrecognizable as Pad Thai. There were no scallions or peanuts or spice and it was swimming in a watery sauce. My Mongolian Beef was basically just meat and onions in a sugary sauce. No spice at all. My fried rice was basically just rice drenched in soy sauce. I noticed some traditional Chinese dishes on the menu and they looked interesting but I’d be apprehensive to try them if they can’t even get the basic stuff right.
