The historical stuff alone gives this place a different feel from the rest. The food was gourmet great. Excellent classic diner with great food. Customer service was different from other diners but overall good.

We came with a very large group and basically overwhelmed the servers. They still did everything they could to keep us happy, including getting our food to us in a timely manner. Everything was as great as I could have hoped for. They were not expecting us all at once, and they handled it like champions.

This is an awesome place that we happened to visit unplanned just because we were hungry on our drive from Las Vegas to LA. This restaurant and this small town is on a hill top and closes at 5pm but is worth visiting. The food was also fresh and tasted well. The beer was great.

Have always enjoyed stopping by the Calico Restaurant to have a nice meal while visiting the Ghost town....Always fast and very friendly service....The food is good as well as simple....Love the ambiance inside and out....Be like taking a step back in time to the 1880's......Calico will always hold a special place in my heart from the first time we visited on a warm day in 1973 with my Dad and brother while on a road trip.....

Inexpensive for what I was initially expecting this type of restaurant to charge. We came on a slow day so there was no wait and the customer service was great; however, the best part is the quality. Compared to theme park food, fair food, carnival food, etc., the cheeseburger and corn dog my family received were one of the best we've tasted. The portion was also larger than expected. Whenever we do come visit again, we will definitely stop by again.

Avoid the chicken. It is not very fresh. But hamburgers are delicious. Prices are reasonable and service is good. 5 stars because the atmosphere is great.

Place used to have specials for Christmas New Year's time they used to have sarsaparilla on tap they don't no more. Put the food is still good. Drinks are served in the Mason jar still. Service was good and friendly. And the time for the food was pretty fast. So if you have a big party going up make sure you go there a couple hours before hand so they can get enough time to cook everyone's food and you have enough time to relax and socialize.

Place used to have specials for Christmas New Year's time they used to have sarsaparilla on tap they don't no more. Put the food is still good. Drinks are served in the Mason jar still. Service was good and friendly. And the time for the food was pretty fast. So if you have a big party going up make sure you go there a couple hours before hand so they can get enough time to cook everyone's food and you have enough time to relax and socialize.

Then I overheard one lady say that she just poured a half one and they can have it for free. By the time she tried to give us that,it was like 10 minutes later. So we declined. Food was really good though. Took forever to get check also. The miners cage showed permanently closed so when we got to the top of the hill,they were open. They had REALLY cold beers and food menu looked good. Go eat there instead.

Food was below average and it took over an hour to get. When we finally got it, the temperature was warm and unsatisfying.

Come to find out from other people in town that they also were turned away but even earlier. Also, on the government website they mentioned that they do old menu items that would have been served in the 1880s. They serve nothing that is mentioned on the government website. See the attached picture. Even with them closing the kitchen, they wouldn't even offer us to have a $7 peanut butter and jelly. Definitely do not come here and waste your time But on a positive note, the lady that works at the saloon two doors down is a gem and will make you hot dogs until the very last at 5:00 closing time. Also, she has a horse sanctuary so please donate her! Her and her blind horse is also in a Guinness book of world record.

We were very patient until we noticed the waitress giving us attitude. It was just the worst experience ever.

Waited 20 minutes only to be told by a lady with the worst attitude slamming her order pad on the counter that I’ll be served after a tour bus that came in after us, which would take 45 minutes. Maybe cause we were the only Japanese family there, but we felt extremely unwelcome. Hire more staff or get your act together lmao
