Now that the original family is back to running things again, it's hands down the BEST in town! I grew up going there w my mom and I'm so glad it stayed the same as back then! UPDATE: under new ownership again, however, the food and the service still maintain their high quality! Hubby and I got there at about 8pm on a Friday night and they had several tables already filled and just one lady handling everything going on in the front half of the restaurant on her own, but she definitely gave us a very nice evening out to dinner. And their food has never been better! I highly recommend the Honey Walnut Shrimp! It's amazing!

HUGE portions but a little bit too salty and too much pepper for my taste. I had Chicken Teriyaki with a side of potstickers. My husband had a two-item plate that came with two main dishes and two sides. We spent roughly $20/person. The waitress was very sweet. Very accommodating. We'd never been in there prior to new ownership so we have nothing to compare it to. But overall good food and good service.

Delicious, freshly made, piping hot Chinese food. The prices and customer service are much better than at other Chinese food places in the Yuba-Sutter area. I would definitely return and highly recommend Lee's Canton Restaurant.

We hadn't been to Lee's Canton in quite awhile so we're very pleased that it was as remembered. Service was exceptional, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was outstanding! The sweet and sour pork was the best we've ever had!

A few years ago I did not like the food and left a bad review. I went today and it was great. I'm Chinese and it is so hard to find food in this area that I like but I will go here again

The food was very flavorful and fresh! Great selection. We will definitely order again. We’ve tried others between Yuba City and Marysville and this is the best by far in quality and flavor. I was a bit thrown off to walk up and find the door locked after I called in the order but I know what to expect next time if the restaurants are still closed for dine in.

FUN! Personable, friendly environment. Had a good time talking with the server. My son called while we were talking, and my Chinese grandkids were saying hello, and the server started talking to my granddaughter in Mandarin. We all got the biggest kick from that. The food was fresh, not overcooked, and just the right amount of taste without any overwhelming sense of 'what is this?'! Anyway, we'll definitely be back. Sunday evening around 7 pm is the perfect time to go. Not crowded, food came quickly. Overall, it was a pleasurable experience. Highly recommend. Don't take our word for it. Give them a try. Great comfort food. Out the door for three for about $85, with enough leftover for another meal for three. Try it, you'll like it!

Underrated spot for this out of towner. If you’re looking for the Chinese-American food style that was more popular during the Luau Garden era, this spot is for you. Everything was made to order and piping hot. Good lunch deals. Generous portions. This place is a part of my “puffy shrimp gang” series. I’ve been looking for the puffy pupu platter style fried prawns that I grew up with in the 80s and 90s that are getting harder and harder to find. Most of the Chinese restaurants now prefer the shrimp with the head and shell. Which is also good! But, nothing hits like a puffy battered shrimp.

Still after 10 years this restaurant never ceases to amaze me. The food is very affordable and it's very delicious comes out fast and hot and you will not leave hungry I have to bring home over half of my food every time. The guy in the back that sings he's very funny and friendly.

I've been going to Lee's since I was a child. The restaurant has always been the go-to spot for family gatherings. It's been hit and miss whether food and service have been good over the past couple years. Mar Far fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had. Egg Fu Yung is delicious and j think they have the best fried rice in the Yuba-Sutter Area. Their chow mein with the crisp noodles is my personal favorite, but the rest of the family prefers the stir fried soft noodles. Sweet and Sour Pork is a little too heavily breaded for my preference, but not bad. Last time I was there the food was great and the service has always been great. Definitely somewhere I will continue going back to.

It was really really really good I got the sweet and sour pork chicken combo plate and honestly 10/10 your state of the art Chinese food was very good very big portion size and was very authentic and flavorful, however I was dissapointed with the drunken noodle as it is almost all this I think pasta? Some sort of pasta carbohydrate and it’s just full of it maybe it was in the description but yeah 9/10 was very good would highly reccomend👍🏽

The beer was served in a frosty glass- perfect. The cheese filled wontons were light and fluffy served with warm sweet and sour sauce. Tasty. I ordered the combination fried rice. There were shrimp instead of prawns, pork and chicken. The rice was very fluffy. The pork tasted like it was marinated in some sort of sweet and sour BBQ marinade - sweet. The service was excellent

We ordered food for pick up. Everything was really tasty, the only thing that wasnt a hit was the crab pulls (they were really dough, not crispy enough) could be because they were pick up, and not eaten there fresh, I have no idea. But we ordered honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken, veggie chow mein, mixed veggies, pork drunken noodles, and cashew chicken as well. Everything was so yummy! The honey walnut shrimp was so addicting, and the walnuts had a good caramelized crunch. The mixed veggies had nice flavor and crunch and weren't over cooked. The chow mein could have had just a big more flavor for my liking, but it was still good. My mom really liked the cashew chicken. We both liked the flavor and but of heat from the orange chicken. It also wasn't dried out like some Chinese restaurants can be, the meat can get overcooked and dry and tough, but not this one. The drunken noodles were pretty good, I added more chili oil because I like it spicier, but the flavor and texture was good. And I keep going back for more honey walnut shrimp. Overall food was very tasty and decent price!

You must go to this restaurant the food is delicious. Eat in because if you don’t you will not get the full experience, the food without doubt but you must experience Edna (The Incredibles) she is the fiery front of house server / waitress / phone order taker. She is the best part of the restaurant she makes us feel inferior and exhilarated all at the same time. God Bless Her.

The orange chicken the fried rice and the chow mein is probably one of the best that I’ve had in a long time. Orange chicken is really good and fluffy and fried and then they throw it in the sauce. It’s crazy good and then leftovers the next day even better.

Love this restaurant! The Egg Drop Soup is quite possibly the best I've ever had. Their $14.99 meal specials are huge - enough for two meals at least, and delicious. I got Orange Chicken and Shrimp and Vegetables tonight and enjoyed every bite. The service was fast and friendly. This is my go-to restaurant for good Chinese in the Yuba Sutter area.

My Grandparents ate here when it first opened, like 1971. I loved the food then. My parents, my husband and I ate here tonight. I am so happy bc the food has not changed. We had the dinner for 4. We have enough leftovers for another dinner for 4. I took the picture from 2 angles.

Very nice Chinese restaurant. Stopped here for a quick bite for lunch. The lady who served us was very nice and welcoming. Food was very good, we had won ton soup, chow fun and fried rice … I did particularly enjoy the chow fun, very flavorful. The place is quaint but a little dated. If I lived in the area I could totally imagine coming here regularly for food. Would definitely stop by again if in the area.

We hadn't been here in over 30 years. We had a few spare moments today and decided to stop in. We were greeted at the door by a smiling diminutive lady, who told us to sit or ever we would like. She presented menus and gave us plenty of time to decide. Hubby chose Mongolian beef and chow mein, and wife chose kung pao chicken VERY SPICY. Soup was a mild egg drop. It could have used a shaking of white pepper, but there was none on the table, but it was not a problem. The main course was beautifully presented on Lee's Canton branded plastic oval platters. The chow mein was slightly bland, yet satisfying. Texture was just a little soft to our liking, but still ok. (I pilfered some chili oil off of another table and added it to the chow mein. That helped.) The first bite of my kung pau chicken yielded a small bit of gristle, and another bite had a small piece of bone, but otherwise except for the dish being too mild for me, it was okay. (See above reference to chili oil). The chunks of carrot in the kung pao chicken were soft, as if they'd been parboiled, it was not an issue for me. Hubby's Mongolian Beef was tasty, having just the right amount of heat for him (He's a wimp 😊), and it was not overloaded with onions, which made him a very happy man. Overall the meal was pretty good, and we will very likely return.

Not the best but not terrible either. A weak 3 stars. Service wasn’t the best either. The Brandy Fried Chicken was over breaded and not cooked completely. Couldn’t eat it. Sweet and Sour Pork was mediocre at best. Ive had better at Panda Express. The Pork Fried Rice was decent however. Would I come back if I was in town again? Probably not...

The staff is very nice. The fried rice is the best. The brandy fried chicken had an odd lemon taste. The sweet and sour pork has carrots in it instead of pineapple, an absolute fail. The sauce was also way to sweet.

Was super excited today to see a banner that said Under New Management... unfortunately however when I called they told me that it was the same people cooking in the kitchen. Guess I got excited for nothing. Not sure why they haven't realized that business has gone down over the last few years because of poor quality food. We used to love this place.

Today was my first time eating here since the new owners took over. I was very disappointed! Food did not have any flavor. Mar far chicken was my favorite n it's no longer on the menu. I was given rubbery dry chicken and rice that tasted like the kind from walmarts frozen area

This has always been my favorite Chinese restaurant and I’m always happy to drive 45 minutes to go get some of it……but I didn’t realize it changed ownership and it’s honestly not the same food I always loved. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t the food I would happily drive 45 min for. Disappointed.

We ordered take-out because of reviews from local residents on next door neighbor. Hands down they said Lee's Canton was the best Chinese food in Yuba City. That was definitely not our experience. Our wonton soup was tasteless, potsticker undercooked, my almond shrimp had hardly any almonds and they were not fresh and the sweet and sour pork was too greasy. We threw out the almond shrimp. We spent over $50. We would never recommend this restaurant to anyons

It was actually almost scary! The waitress is very short-fused. The drinks were not made right... Too much carbonation in the sodas, and something was wrong with the ice tea. My mom couldn't even chew her sweet and sour pork. The breading was too hard. The rice was cold. The "chow mein" was noodles... Not chow mein. I really thought the waitress was going to give my mom a heart attack. The waitress was very aggressive. We could hear her in the kitchen yelling and screaming after my mom complained. It was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant!!!

D
Debra Knutson

The restaurant has changed hands. Food quality has decreased drastically. The egg rolls used to be so good and now they are about a quarter of the size and do not taste good at all. The brandy fried chicken was strange pieces that we kept getting bones. Definitely too much breading. The chow mein was more like Italian chow mein, large noodles with no flavor. We were there before it changed hands and we really enjoyed it. We will not be going back.

They must have had had one superbad day. Based on the reviews they're awesome. This is the first time I've ever given anyone a one-star review. Our server was completely oblivious we constantly had to ask for things such as plates for appetizers forks and napkins.

I used to love this restaurant. I recommended it to everyone I knew. Sadly, I will never return to this place! The waitress behaved in a completely unhinged manner. I went with my husband and we both ordered diet cokes with our meals. The sodas had a horrible taste. Like mold or mildew, mixed with chemicals and medicine. I told her that something was wrong with it and I would like it removed from the bill. She didn't answer me. She just returned to her perch over by the register, where she spent her time on her phone...never asking if the food was good, or asking if we needed anything else. The one thing we did ask for was hot mustard, she acted put-out. When the time came to go up to the register to pay I asked her if she took the soda off the bill, she said no. Then I forbade her from running my credit card unless she took it off the bill. She ignored me and ran my credit card anyway. She flat our refused to refund me for a drink that I took 2 sips from! I politely told her to give me $3 cash, which was the cost of the soda I didn't drink. She refused. I asked her if she is willing to lose 2 good customers forever over $3. She said "I don't care, don't come back!". We eventually got into a yelling match, in which I demanded she give me $3. She eventually gave me my $3 in cash, as the entire restaurant full of people watched her lose 2 long time loyal customers over something utterly idiotic. I will never be going back and that's very sad. As I really did like this place. Decent food at good prices. Lunch specials and dynamite 1960s decor that you just don't find anymore. The authentic real deal. But if the people working there cannot give decent customer service, I cannot go back.

We can't even put a star on this review. As this was a recommended restaurant by 3 fine as wine ladies as to what they remembered, one visiting from out of town. Very short fused waitress, irate and rude to say the least. The drinks tasted like chemical and medicine. And the food was nothing expected, lots of bread and little meat in the sweet and sour. It was just an overall not return again experience. Learn some business etiquette, customer comes first!

I picked up a 2 item combo: kung pao shrimp with shrimp chow mein and veg egg fu young and white rice. It was all crammed in one box. the shrimp chow mein is simply noodles with four cold shrimp (not deveined) placed on top. I should have gone to panda. It would have been 4x as good and costed half as much. I should’ve known when I walked in on a Saturday at 7 and the restaurant was empty. I’d have called to attempt to get a refund but I think I’ll end the disappointment here. Obviously no pride in their product. Save yourself and just don’t. I can’t understand any of the positive reviews. Ps I’d never written a review in my life before this.
