Nalu Hawaiian BBQ

So, so good! My husband and I tried for the first time today. Prices are reasonable and portions are HUGE. I didn’t think I would like the macaroni salad because I’m not a huge fan but it was actually SO good! The chicken katsu with gravy is fire. The short ribs are so good. My husband said the spam musubi was a little bland- but otherwise it was so good. We are so excited to come back! Restaurant super clean and staff was very friendly!

A nice change up from the usual takeout options in town - I’m happy this place is open! They offer large portions for a great value. We ordered the regular katsu chicken and bbq chicken plates and both were very tasty. Super fresh and tender! The service was also great - calling in the order was a breeze and the staff were friendly. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Ordered delivery from Uber eats and food came fast and fresh!! I got the chicken katsu curry they give you the sauce on the side which I appreciate, mac was delicious and the portion of chicken I got was crazy!

In a nutshell; pretty good hbbq, location is tad bit tough to get to if you're coming from the other side but still good food. Wanted a combination plate from then that I was just planning to pickup up but I wanted my sides swapped out but the online ordering didn't have that option unfortunately, fortunately though calling them wasn't that much of a hassle and asking for the side change was a piece of cake (no I didn't ask for a side of a piece of cake). Driving towards the location though I had to make a u turn just to get to them and if you miss the entrance you're going to need to do another u turn on the high way and another round just to get back so carefull not to miss the entrance. Overall, the plate was great, the salad side was great, and will go here again.

My new favorite restaurant in town! The food is delicious, the teriyaki and katsu sauces go really nicely, and the service is really fast. Not to mention you get a lot of food for the price. Chicken, pork, beef, and seafood options. I hope they continue with their quality going forward 👏🏼

I’ve been waiting MONTHS for them to open! The wait was SO WORTH IT! Nowadays, restaurants food portions are smaller and much more expensive however, not here! Food portions are big and you’re walking away with way more than what you paid for. The food was amazing! If you have ever been to Hawaii and enjoyed the ribs, chicken, Katsu, macaroni, and loved it, you are going to love it! A little piece of aloha in the heart of Yuba City!

I don't know of many Hawaiian BBQ spots in the Yuba Sutter area, but this one has it down pat! The portions are generous and delicious! They have all the Hawaiian BBQ flavorites and at very reasonable price. The staff is always extremely friendly and always gives my daughter a small toy.

First day open and they hit the ground running food came out quick and Xunye at the front counter was helpful and polite. The food tasted yummy and hot, moreover, the beef was tender and the chicken was extra crispy! The rice was fresh and fluffy and the bed of cabbage was refreshing. Great value as well more food then we could finish. Overall a 5/5 for me.

It’s like being at a plate lunch restaurant in Hawaii and will transport your tastebuds to a Hawaiian paradise! We’ve had the mix plate, katsu, Kalua pork, and the malasadas. It’s all delicious. Highly, highly recommend going here.

I’ve been wanting to try this place since before they opened and I finally got the chance tonight. I will say now I know what all the fuss is about… the food is DELICIOUS! I got the half and half plate, with Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Katsu. It came with fluffy white rice, fresh macroni salad and cabbage. I did see there are lots of substitutions to choose from as well. The size of the portions are very generous and the meat is mouth watering. As for ordering, there was a line but it moved very quickly. Karizma was super sweet and even offered a keychain stuffed animal to my daughter, while we waited. Overall, I am quite impressed and will definitely be returning!

First time here and the staff were beyond sweet and very patient while I looked over the menu. They made me feel so welcomed, and the environment is very family oriented because they even had a small keychain toy for the kids. Not to mention, the FOOD IS BEYOND DELICIOUS!! (If my eyes could do hearts, I'd look like the toy right now) I will surely be a regular, and thank you for making my first time a great one! 💕

The protein plate is a great low carb, high protein option. Large portions & delicious flavor! What really makes me love this place is the quality service. While eating, I witnessed an employee open the door & walk an elderly woman to her car with her order. You don’t find that quality customer service very much these days. It’s great to see that Nalu provides that top notch customer service! I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know! :)

I think my picture speaks for itself. Cleaned plate nothing left. This spot serves fresh quality food and the servings are fair. Katsu and hawaiin bbq chicken are lights out.

Great service friendly. Excellent Hawaiian bbq u like many that claim to have real Hawaiian bbq. Was just passing through on way north, we will definitely stop for a to go order on way back home. I hope they open other locations further south past Sacramento.

Everything was overcooked and dry. We ordered four plates: two fish and shrimp, and two seafood combos. While we had a great experience here before, the food was inedible today. We wasted our money and couldn't finish.

I ordered through doordash 30 minutes before they closed and to my suprise most of the meat came back cold. I was frustrated as this was my dinner. By the time the food had gotten to me, the restraunt was already closed. I’m truly disheartened as I used to love this place. How could you throw some cold meat that’s not even edible in someones order because it was close to closing time. I work really hard to earn my money. The food and hospitality is great but this was horrible service. A warning to everybody, DO NOT order from them within an hour from close. Go in person and get your food made right. Thanks for reading!

Each and EVERY time I pick up an order here the drinks are overfilled to the point where it’s coming out of the cup. It makes a huge mess and it’s not appropriate for restaurant who are going to offer take-out as it will destroy your car or clothes.
