Store was very welcoming, clean, food was inexpensive, excellent taste. I recommend the Chicken Gyro if this is your first time or the Chicken Calzone if your more Americanized (speaking totally about food). I don't try MANY new foods but I tasted the Chicken Gyro plate and it was EXCELLENT! It looks foreign but give it a try, you won't regret it. Honest review if it's your first experience. I'm on a health kick so this not only tastes GREAT but it's TOTALLY KOSHER. Enjoy! - Baby Princess Wallace
Excellent food. A little bit of a wait, but we walked in to order takeout. Tried the gyro and the gyro meat pizza -- both were great. We will be back when we have a minute to sit down and try the appetizers too!
Went here for the first time today, but it won't be the last! The falafel sandwich was delicious- authentic, light but filling. and flavorful... the atmosphere was so friendly... definitely recommend eating here!
Lentil soup was delicious, sample appetizer were great and the beef marinated plate was awesome. They have such wonder costomer service. They have a small market inside.
This place is amazing my first time eating here and I have to say I will return I had the lamb plate with the Mediterranean rice absolutely delicious! 🤤 can’t wait to try more options
Best Mediterranean food in town! The hummus is awesome! The lamb, beef, chicken euros are amazing! The atmosphere is great! Every time my wife and I go here we feel like part of the family! Highly recommend!!!! They also have a small grocery store in the back where you can purchase all dirty of Mediterranean groceries.
Cute mom and pop shop with a little market in the back. The food was delicious and the staff were very kind. Would recommend for Mediterranean food
This place is the best!!! If you haven't tried it you are missing out on great food. I will be recommending it to my family, friends, and CO workers! Great flavors can tell it's made with love.
My friend and I enjoy visiting when we travel to Lubbock. The food is very good and the mini-market of imported food is fun to shop.
Great friendly staff, generous portions. Flavors were spot on. Every thing was seasoned to perfection. Good atmosphere.
This was are first time coming here and it did not disappoint!! The pizza, gyro plate, baklava and chocolate calzone are amazing!
Best Mediterranean food in Lubbock, new owners are great people. The Gyro Donner is delicious with good portions. The Mezzanine Plate was delicious, I loved the Gyro Pizza. Ingredients seem to be fresh and served with a smile from the owner. I can’t recommend this place enough, I was saddened they removed the Mujadara because nobody was ordering but I understand it isn’t ingredients that are fast to make.
The food was very good, fresh and warmed up. I got a gryo and it was seasoned very well. The salad is awesome, and has lots of good flavor. My mom had the beef swarma ( bad spell), and she had enough for two meals. Sister had the falafel, but we had to reheat it, because she did not eat right away. She said it was good. The spinach pie was okay. Had too much of a vinegar taste in parts. Good size though. The lady that help me was patience, and professional nice with me. Parking is a little tricky, but not hard.
Very nice little restaurant! You can tell the owners put all their energies into this restaurant. Everything is made fresh (including the dough for the pizza and pies), and came out quickly and piping hot! We had excellent service as well. They seem to cater towards the lunch hour as they have lots of lunch specials, so this would be a great place for a lunch break. Nice decorations which gave you a homey feel, and they even have a small market at the back of the restaurant. They have many menu items, and would recommend you give this place a try! There's definitely something that you would like. Try their Turkish coffee if you get a chance! We tried the Baba Ganouge, Mediterranean Pocket Pie, 10" Gyro Pizza, and one of their sandwiches, 2 Turkish coffees, all of which came out less than $40.
I have been going to lite bite for years. It is always amazing. I moved away and was back for a visit and it still is amazing.
Reasonable prices, excellent food. The chicken shawarma, gyro, and falafel sandwich were all great. My friends like the beef shawarma but it wasn't my thing. Their baklava is delicious and so is their turkish coffee. Can't recommend this place enough.
I've been a customer for literally DECADES, 1st local I recall was the old Winchester plaza that was levelled for united marketplace 50th Indiana. I've never had food that was unappetising in that entire era. Excellent food, service, but even more apt, PRICE!!!! LITE BITE PLZ DONT EVER STOP WHAT YALL DO SOO SO WELL!!!! 6 STARS I WOULD GIVE OUT OF 5
The owner is amazingly nice - the food is very good - and the atmosphere feels relaxed. Another great gem in Lubbock. Stop going to crappy chain food places and try something different - and DO NOT MISS the little honey pastry desserts near the registers. These fresh made "Baklava" are AMAZING. Enjoy :)
I've been a patron of this place for years and have always been impressed with freshness of the ingredients and the excellent taste of the gyros and Sharma plates. I especially love the house made garlic sauce.
This has been one of my favorite places for years. We were skeptical about new ownership (about 2 years ago), but they are awesome! The food is great. It's super clean and bright. They have groceries, as well.
Have never eaten this type of food before and was skeptical whether I would like it or not, until I took the first bite, The Gyro was absolutely amazing. Cant wait to go back again for more. Friendly staff and very clean place, highly recommend you give this place a try!
Wow, my new favorite mediterranean restaurant. The food was delicious, and so fast. The service was great! The lady who took our order even came to our table after we got our food to make sure we liked it and to see if we had any questions/familiarity with the items we ordered. Thank y'all so much!!
We hadn’t been here for a while but we always go here for Greek food. The place was refurbished and looked so bright and clean. They also had so new menu items which we tried and were very good. We will not wait so long to come back this time.
The food is so good, and the service is great. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate with a salad, and literally everything on it was amazing. The meat was so flavorful and tender, the tahini was perfect, the pita was soft with the perfect amount of chew, and all of the veggies were crisp and fresh. My family came with me and everyone was very happy. We had the pistachio baklava for dessert and it was so crunchy, nutty, and had the perfect amount of sweetness.
I stopped in for a quick lunch & the food was excellent. I had roasted chicken & a Greek salad. It was great. And the garlic sauce is to die for. The owner, Sam, waits the counter & takes your order. He told me that he has been in business for 24 years. There is a daily special Mon - Sat. The place is clean & bright, the prices are very reasonable & the service is excellent. I'll definitely eat here again on my next trip to Lubbock. Make sure you meet Sam, the owner. He'll take good care of you.
I have been going to Lite Bite for over 10 years. I have always loved it. Their Gyro is the best I have found anywhere and their hummus is delicious. I eat at about 3 places in Lubbock when I visit and rotate between them. Lite Bite is one of those 3. Can't wait to go back. New owners are nice and the atmosphere is top notch.
Wonderful family owned Mediterranean restaurant! Staff was very nice and polite and the atmosphere is wonderful. The gyro is phenomenal and I tried baklava for the first time and now I'm hooked. Will definitely be a repeat customer.
We had a wonderful lunch at the Lite Bite Mediterranean Markets. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very friendly. The plates were absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend!
I stopped by to eat lunch and it is still freaking amazing!!! You have to try the couscous salad and the chicken soup. My 9-year old son, 15-year old daughter and I came to eat here as part of a school project. We all loved the food here!!! The Mezza Sampler, Greek Salad, Zaatar Pizza, Pressed Kafta, Spinach Pie, and the Chicolate Calzone are so freaking amazing!!! The service was perfect. You have to come and try the food here.
This was my first time visiting this establishment and it was absolutely outstanding! The owners were friendly, helpful and sweet folks. I ordered a gyro and veggie soup with extra bread to-go and had a Turkish coffee while I waited. Everything was on point and delicious. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you very much!!
My favorite place to eat with my dad. The food is amazing and you must try the Turkish coffee and baklava. I look for Mediterranean restaurants in every city when i travel and Lite Bite is on the top of my list. The gyro was fabulous especially with the garlic sauce. And I appreciate the grocery options so I can take home some of my favorite cheeses and coffee.
This place is a gem. Quaint little restaurant; it feels as though it has been here forever, and it virtually has. The owners of this place are the real deal, and have a great menu. They EVEN have a market in the back of the restaurant with many international goods. Super cool! As always, the gyro is amazing. Lubbock staple!
Great service! Great family! They offered us free Turkish coffees when we ordered a baklava and a cake, the combo of that cake and coffee were amazing. The pink lemonade is different and best in the market. Suggestion: It would be great if the meat portion is slightly more than normal.
Wow - We relished this place. I rarely get to eat Mediterranean food. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Everything we had was absolutely delicious and made with so much love. This place was clean and has a little store in the back how cool is that. Goodness don't forget to try the dessert sweet and savory.
Offers several menu choices, generous serving sizes for the price, and delicious food.
It's always a delightful lunch at this genuinely delicious restaurant! It's very clean, light and bright, cheerfully decorated. It's a quiet atmosphere with some light music so you can talk with friends and easily hear each other. The food is absolutely delicious and the owners give 200% to serve and please customers. The iced tea is very refreshing. We live in Arlington but were visiting my sister in Lubbock and ate here 2 days in a row so we could try as much as possible. We will visit again soon. They are a breath of fresh air!
Their gyros remind me of the ones I used to get in Wylie If you want an actually good gyros this is the spot. Plus it's just by the gym so after I work outs I might come by again.
We were looking for something new to try and decided to give Lite Bite a try. Used door dash and our food arrived quickly and hot. We got the beef shawarma plate and the chicken shawarma plate with a side of hummas and I have to say if you do not RUN to this restaurant you are missing out. Every bite was heaven! The seasonings and portions were fantastic and all I kept thinking was I need to go and try everything on the menu! Don't forget to try their salad which is beyond good! Rambling on because it was sooo good and had to tell everyone!
wonderful food! amazing atmosphere, very laid-back and welcoming! but the food was superb.. definitely returning again! thank you
Friend who says it is her favorite took me for my first visit. Staff was superb, I had the woman pick a plate for me and was thrilled. Must try and you will want to come back.
Always such a treat to eat here. The service is always given with a smile and the food is absolutely delicious. You can tell they truly take pride in delivering authentic tasteful food.
This place was fantastic! I had chicken Tawouk, split sampler platter, and wife had beef scwarma. Everything so fresh!
Mediterranean oasis in Lubbock. Owned and operated by the owners who have really brightened up the place up. Always great food. Usually get the gyro. Get off the loop and support this small business.
Lubbock’s options for authentic cultured cuisine is limited but the people at Lite Bite are a gem! They even have grocery type items for sale for those interested in cooking Mediterranean cuisine at home. Prices are not low but 2 people could share a plate and a side. The owners are from Lebanon and it’s cool to see the photos on the wall and hear their story! Great place!
Best Greek Food 😍 friendly people treat you like family. Will go back again omg 😲 good yummy 😋 food Great prices a true Diamond in Food Thank You
Always great service with a smile, fresh and delicious food. The owner even took his time to help me find some grocery items I was looking for. Looking forward to going back!
What an incredible experience. Me and my friends and I have been going to Texas Tech for four years only only just found this gem! We got the gyro, kafta sandwich, coffee, and every dessert they had to offer. The later two pair perfectly together. The staff was so incredible and made the atmosphere inviting and calming. Please, if you're thinking about it go!
Mentioned this the other day but the wife wanted a solid Gyro and got an opportunity to post up on these guys finally. Lite Bite on 50th Street has been around for ages and has been our go-to place for all things Mediterranean food for about 20yrs. They're the best in Lubbock in my humble opinion. They also still have a tiny section with trinkets, different wares and a little International market filled with awesome one-off stuff. The section used to be waaayyyy bigger with beautiful, intricate, gigantic Persian rugs and furniture too. The owner Sam is a nice guy and takes care of everyone who walks through his doors. Can't say enough good things about this place! Give it try if you get a chance.
This was a great place to eat. It was my wife and I’s anniversary meal lol. Under new ownership and it was great
This place is awesome! I tried it for the first time on Wednesday and I have already been here 2 more times before the week has ended. I have had a good number of Gyro’s from different restaurants, and this one is up there. I have never had shawarma anywhere else, but I tried it and loved it. Will likely be coming here weekly from now on.
The reviews in Texas Monthly and local accolades are a few reasons to visit Lite Bite, where Mediterranean cuisine has been served in Lubbock for generations now. This location is central to Lubbock whether its students, faculty and staff from TTU or LCU or residents of Southwest Lubbock venturing out. The 50th Street corridor is a great strip for ethic restaurants, and Lite Bite is over if the oldest and wisest. Definitely get the daily special with salad and their rosewater lemonade. Use the apps indicated in the photos for delivery options!
Lovely owners and friendly staff. Clean bathrooms and seating area. Easygoing music. The interior design is nice too.
Very friendly service and fantastic food!! Nice place and very clean. I plan to make this place one of our “go to” places in Lubbock!
The Greek salad was delicious and fresh. The chicken shawarma was perfectly seasoned and warm. Highly recommend trying the baclava and Turkish coffee together. Tried the chocolate calzone which is filled with hazelnut spread and served fresh. Hits just right! Will definitely be back.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unbelievable Chicken Shawarma at Lite Bite We’re from Metro Detroit, where Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food is king—plentiful, authentic, and downright amazing. So we do not say this lightly… but the chicken shawarma sandwich at Lite Bite was absolutely unbelievable. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and tender, the toppings were fresh, and the flavors were balanced in that crave-worthy, can’t-stop-thinking-about-it way. Honestly, it was just as wonderful as the top-tier shawarma we’re spoiled with back home in Detroit. If you’re a shawarma lover, this place is a must-try. We’ll definitely be back.
The new owner Mo is amazing!!! We've been long time Lite Bite customers and the amazing food and service will definitely continue with Mo! Their gyro sandwich is my favorite. I would highly recommend giving Mo your business to help him provide for his beautiful family!
Just tried this place today and WOW! The cucumber salad was incredible, perfect hints of lemon and mint. Sooo good. The Greek salad was so FRESH. And the Hummus was absolutely incredible. Ordered online and it was ready to go in 10 minutes. I'll be back, so healthy so fresh! The dining room is bright and lovely and clean
My husband had the vegetable soup and said it was the best ever so he went back and ordered another bowl. I had the chicken tawook platter with salad. I loved the garlic sauce for the chicken. The chicken was tender and plentiful. The salad dressing was so tasty. We were passing through Lubbock and looked up Mediterranean food. We were not disappointed by the food, service nor atmosphere and will go again on future trips through Lubbock.
My husband has been craving Mediterranean food, he loved it overseas. So we decided to try this for lunch. This place is amazing! Great taste, portions, and atmosphere. The Turkish coffee is very good too.
I was craving gyro and I happen to stumble this location on Google Maps. They have the menu with the prices online on their website which is a big plus for me. I placed a to go order over the phone and the one who answered was very friendly. As soon as you walk you are greeted with smiles and the restaurant itself was very clean. Tried the gyro out and it was very delicious! I’m definitely coming back again to try out the other foods on the menu!
From the moment you enter to the moment you leave this place delivers an amazing experience. I brought my wife in today to try Mediterranean food for the first time and boy did they deliver. The employees are extremely kind and attentive and ordering was fast and simple (bonus points for pictures on menu). We ordered the baklava, sampler platter, and a few entrees and everything we had was perfect. The food came in order in a very timely manner and everything tasted fresh and incredible. I have had the pleasure of having homemade Mediterranean food and I must say you can tell this food is made like home and with love. Our new favorite restaurant and we will be regular patrons for the chicken tawouk, the baklava, and sampler platter. Do yourself a favor and visit them for a great meal and experience, well deserving of a Michelin star.
This was my first time at this restaurant, but it was delicious! Food was fresh and hot. I ordered the beef shawarma plate. The portion size was excellent and the flavors were wonderful. The atmosphere was also great — bright colors, clean space, good music in the background, and friendly staff. We had a big group (8 people) and they moved tables to accommodate for us. They were so kind! I absolutely recommend getting your next meal here. I think you’ll be very satisfied. I’ll definitely be back!
Once again, Light Bite comes through! The food, service, and atmosphere were absolutely amazing!!! The experience was just as incredible as the last time I came here. Lite Bite is my all time favorite restaurant to eat at! I can’t wait to come again! Before I let y’all go, I recommend getting the zataar pizza, mezza sampler, spinach pie, pressed kofta, and the chocolate calzone. Those are some of my favorite dishes to get here, but you really can’t go wrong with any of these dishes.
Such a great place here in Lubbock! I had the falafel sandwich, and my boyfriend had chicken shawarma plate. The woman who was at the register was so nice and gave us coffee for free. The cook was super nice and the food was amazing! My boyfriend loved the garlic sauce that came with his plate. Will be back soon!
Everything tastes so fresh. Nice people and clean establishment. The pocket pie was soft and delicious. Gyro pizza had some great flavor to it and not greasy. Baba ganouge was GOOD, nothing to complain about. And the pressed kafta sandwich was incredible. Whatever chili paste that came on the side of that one was incredibly addicting. Lastly the Turkish coffee was amazing way to end. Can't recommend enough this place
One of the best budget eatery place. Sitting at this place in the daytime feels very peaceful. I tried gyro supreme. You can feel the freshness in every bite. Pita bread was fluffy and nice. Good amount of meat and dressing. Still I prefer slightly more spice in meat. But for that much cost it was worth it. Owner seemed polite and attentive.
Solid choice for a healthy and tasty lunch or dinner at a very reasonable price point. I was pleasantly surprised to have garlic spread served standard with the shawarma plate. The gyro pizza was unique and good. Dr. Pepper and Diet Dr. Pepper are included as a fountain drinks here. The people are nice, service is quick, and there is a market as well.
Good place to eat was expecting more originality and authenticity but the use of a microwave threw all that out the window. At least the gyro meat was shaved off a spit as it should be. Don't love it nor hate it so in a way will be looking for something more somewhere else. I will visit again for the gyros.
Staff was nice. Hummus, gyros, and baklava were decent. If this was all I’d ordered I’d have give another star. Probably would have been better to dine in. But the Greek salad was lacking flavor even after I added salt and I would have preferred Kalamata olives. Chips that came with the gyros were stale. Fries were gross and undercooked.
Was excited to eat here again after moving back to Lubbock. Was told original owner retired. After eating there twice the original owner took his secrets & flavors with him. I miss him. I wish him well. Lubbock has lost many good restaurants & owners that made them the best.
Cute gyro spot. Seemingly authentic Beiruti-American menu, mostly gyros tho. There's a sweet mini-pantry in the back where you can get a few imported grocery staples and novelties. Cute outdoor seating!
This is the second Greek / Mediterranean restaurant in town that we've tried and still haven't found one yet that we'll return to. My wife and I both ordered the Greek salads. Hers with the grilled chicken and I got the gyro meat. I guess they were true to their name Lite Bite cause they were the size of a side salad. My suggestion is to offer two sizes. We like meat salads as a main meal and those we a bit small. They did taste good but just too small for a meal. I also asked about the baklava. But when I was told that they are not made in house but purchased, I decided to pass.
I was a regular customer for several years and would go there at least once or twice a week for a gyro sandwich but due to the pandemic and moving away I hadn't been in for a couple of years. I didn't realize that it had changed ownership. But I could tell the difference because the meat and the sauce has changed and not for the better. I was so disappointed because I love gyros and really had my mouth set for their sauce. I even ordered two gyros, one for lunch and another for dinner. I ended up giving them to my dog. I will not be going back.
