Opiniones de One Guy Lubbock
We stopped for lunch. Salad, pizza, canzone - everybody enjoyed their meal. Staff was friendly and the owner even checked in at our table.
Excellent food in a small Italian restaurant. Cheese ravioli was fantastic. Service was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I wish we could go back but we were just passing through Lubbock. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.
Food was amazing. We ordered 2 calzones for the first time, both were cooked perfectly. Not watery, vegetables inside tasted fresh and not overcooked, cheese was just the right type and right amount, and beef was good. Our food came out faster than expected. They make you feel like you have been here for so many times, it feels cozy because of a hospitable staff. Our waitress have done a great job keeping up with everything. Professional chief, who makes his guests feel special, personally asked every table how was their food. 5 stars! Your local Italian place!
Great food! Everything was delivered as ordered and as scheduled!
This place was recommended to us and I am so glad we tried it. We were warmly greeted and the staff was very friendly. The calzones were amazing and we will definitely be back. The manager came by as we were finishing up and made sure we were happy with everything. We will definitely be back to try some other menu items.
Went for a quick birthday dinner- and from the hostess, to the server, to the manager, and the cooks- it was an excellent experience. Both being in the industry- this is one of the most well managed and run and clean places we have experienced. Definitely will come back anytime we are in the LBK
Local place. Thin crust pizza and very tasty.
Loved the calzone! Jo and Emily took great care of me. Everything I love about west Texas in one Italian restaurant 10/10
Had the stuffed shells and it was delicious. Our waitress was really good. The owner even came over and checked on us. This was my first time but I will definitely be back. One more thing, the portions are very large. I had a great dinner and I am set for lunch tomorrow with leftovers.
The garlic bread wafts a celestial aroma, a prelude to the calzone—vast as a Puritan’s sin, sufficient for two souls. A humble eatery, yet its bounty doth provoke both awe and gluttony. We'll be back....
Second time here. First time was well over 18 yrs ago. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken mushroom and extra garlic. It was amazing. Full of flavor. My wife got the shrimp scampi. She was in love with it. My Lil one got the kids spaghetti with meatball. She doesn't say much yet, but she does know how to say, "mmmmm". I think she liked it. Joseph was our server. He was very kind and was helpful in helping me make a decision on what to eat. We look forward to coming back with more people next time.
Went here and ordered take out calzones, I had a supreme - mushrooms and bell peppers! Freshly made and cooked in a fire oven, owner and employees very nice and offered a complimentary soda while waiting. Highly recommended!
Great foot great atmosphere. The waiters there are awesome.
Best Calzone I’ve ever had! The service was excellent as well and my kids enjoyed the arcade games
Very friendly….atmosphere was great and calzone was awesome….highly recommend giving it a try….Waco,Tx
We ordered delivery. The pizza is so tasty and fresh!
Honestly the pizza is amazing. But what it really is the service and hospitality. The owner comes by and asks how everything was. That's why I go there.
That one guy is a bringing hot pies to the house extremely fast. Best pizza in town!!!
Great pizza and the best garlic butter I have ever had.
I used to eat here a lot when I went to Texas Tech University and the pizza slice was huge and delicious. I recommended to family and friends who visited or were traveling through. Went here again this week while I was on vacation and the pizza was as delicious as always. Best pizza in Lubbock and arguably one of the best pizza places in the entire state of Texas!! Everyone should eat here at least once!!
We ordered two pizzas for our drive through Lubbock on our roadtrip. Oh my goodness the cheese pizza is SO good! We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes they serve!
I order for pickup. Always the best pizza in town. Always hot and delicious.
My husband and I stopped by for lunch today. The food was delicious! There was a small hiccup with our ticket, but our waiter, Serena, and the manager, Ken, worked to resolve the issue with ease. Definitely recommend One Guys on 50th!
I am no foodie, going around taking pictures of my food like it's a big deal. Except here. The only reason is because my friends who don't live in Lubbock, and therefore cannot experience the joy of the One Guy from Italy calzone, are sad and deprived people. Most of them have tasted the glory and goodness, and they know what they are lacking. I take the picture purely because it reminds them of what they could have had for lunch, but for their poor choices in residence. I'm kind of mean, that way.
One Guy from Italy is hands down one of the best restaurants in Lubbock, Texas! The authentic Italian cuisine is unmatched, with every dish bursting with rich, delicious flavors. Their pizza, with its perfect crust and generous toppings, is a standout. The warm, inviting atmosphere and exceptional service make every visit a pleasure. A must-visit for anyone in Lubbock!"
Great local Italian joint in Lubbock. All the locals recommend it. There is a location right across from campus and then one a few minutes down the road. The staff is friendly and the food is great! I got the traditional calzone and it was more than enough food! Craving some pizza, hit up One Guy from Italy!
Great pizza, reasonable priced. Nice retro vibe, nothing too fancy. Has a small arcade game room. Great atmosphere. You don't be disappointed.
I have been coming here for years and the food and service has always been top notch. One of my favorite places to eat. The food is always made fresh and the service, you couldn't ask for better.
Simply Amazing!!!... didn't think the other (one on university) could be topped but this one has a more home feel atmosphere to it...don't get me wrong both are out of this world...great food made with love...this one just has a little more of that family feel to it... definitely recommend and will come here every chance I get!!!
One Guy’s is such a Lubbock staple and I have so many memories of getting their pizzas and calzones growing up! Always yummy, always fun, and always worth it :)
MUST VISIT! One Guys is truly incredible. The staff was friendly and attentive without hovering. That wasn't even the best part though, the food, I could write all day about the food. The menu is affordable and has a large range of options. We ordered the Vegi Calzone, Baked Ziti, Mazzorella sticks, and Eggplant Parmigiano, all were phenomenal. The Calzone especially is what I recommend.
Really good pizza and subs. I usually get a large pizza because there's a little more dough and I like chewy dough. Meatball sub is great and wings are really good too. The garlic butter dip for pizza is great. I order to go here 2-3 times a month every month.
I absolutely LOVE these wings! Having grown up in Lubbock, I am no stranger to One Guy from Italy. Last week they had the unfortunate surprise to have air conditioning problems, but the box fans, fantastic service (thank you Shauna, our waitress) and the manager constantly checking on us definitely made up for air conditioning problems. I ordered these AMAZING wings for my road trip and I was not disappointed! One Guy is not just pizza, calzones, and great service-it’s also delicious buffalo wings! Thank you again for a wonderful experience and starting my road trip off to great start!
Ordered the create your own calzone, Hawaiian style ! Don’t pass on the Parmesan buttered crusted crust! Ask for your calzone crispy they come out so good. Ordered cheesy garlic bread and mozzarella sticks for appetizer the bread was light and airy definitely don’t pass on that.
This pizza was delicious!!! The service was top notch. Everything was excellent. The owner was friendly and kind... Totally wonderful!!!
Great weekday lunch specials! I got the OG calzone and hubby got the 2 slices of pizza - we both left full (along with our kid who really enjoyed the fries) and the server was great :)
We eat here mainly at lunch. Great pizza, great service! My husband refuses to eat pizza anywhere else. I called in a dinner pickup order, and the sweet voice taking my order was a delight to talk to. Her name is Jo, what a asset to your business! She isn't impatient, and makes sure your order is correct. Very kind people!
In town for a week with my dad working on a fixer upper and decided to try this place before heading back to Dallas. Had the calamari (crispy and tasty with the marinara sauce), Ceasar Salad (croutons and greens were fresh and crispy) and a 16" All Meat pizza. It was definitely worth it. Toppings were tasty and pepperoni and Canadian bacon were slightly thicker cut than normal, which was a nice touch. Would definitely be back here next time I swing by!
Delicious food, friendly staff, cute decor, fast prep. And one of the guys let me video him making pizza dough. We’ve ordered from the University location and this was our first time eating at this location. Parking was a bit tight. Dining room has lots of space. We will definitely eat here again.
The perfect small italian pizza place, the food is crunchy, cheesy, and very filling. The staff is nice, and very welcoming. The Lunch special is a Classic Large Calzone (Sausage, peperoni, cheese) with a drink for $7.99. And of course, dont forget the marinara so the crust and cheese never go to waste.
We wanted to be different and try the pasta instead of their great pizza or calzone. We ordered the lasagna and the pasta and meatballs in tomato vokca sauce. We will definitely do that again! .
We took a field trip here with 3rd graders and the entire staff was so helpful and welcoming. The kids had a great time and loved the food! One even said it was the best day of her life! We went because of a reading promotion they were doing. We're so grateful to them for putting an emphasis on reading and education!
We had pizza, garlic bread, a kids fettuccine alfredo, ceasar salad, and alfredo sauce delivered to our hotel room. The food was fantastic! We loved the pizza. There was something special about the sauce I couldn't quite put my finger on, but it was excellent! I nearly didnt order from here because I didnt think the food pictured looked super appealing, but im glad we did!
This is by far one of the best Calzones I've ever eaten. All they need to do is look at my track record of debit purchases from here. Just smashed 2 for dinner.
This place was really good. I’m from out of state and saw a few good reviews. Showed up at 6pm and the parking lot was empty which wasn’t a great sign. Decided to give it a shot and it was great. Met the owner who checked on my meal and the various servers were really nice as well. I noticed more customers come in and when I left, the parking lot was completely full at 7pm. Great job!! Get a calzone to share for the table.
Ordered thru the website. Prompt delivery from a smiling driver. Ate some delicious pizza. Been a fan of One Guy since I was in college back in the 80s. Still a fan!
In town on our way to our daughters. My husband cannot eat gluten and loved loved the gluten free pizza. I had a supreme pizza an it was delicious!! We also shared a Greek salad which was phenomenal!!
Food was fresh, hot, and sooo good!! Enjoyed my traditional calzone on National Calzone Day. Ordered pasta too as a later meal. I've always had good food from One Guy. Get your calzone or pizza from them. Service was quick and people were nice. Bottom line, food was delicious!! 😊
My wife and I were recently told that if we are ever in Lubbock, One Guy is the place to eat. Stopped in today while on a road trip, and the Calzones are mouthwatering amazing! Fast, friendly service and exceptional food!
Freaking fantastic!!! One of our new favorite spots. Everything tasted delicious, the staff was all so friendly and welcoming, pricing is great for the portion size, and it’s just a wonderful atmosphere! We dined in and felt right at home. Highly recommend!!! Pictured is the Calzone, ravioli appetizer, One Guy Sicilian Salad, and ONE pizza slice! Shout out to Shana our waitress - super sweet and friendly. Thank you all so much!
We absolutely LOVE this place. Been coming here for years and it has never failed to deliver such delicious food and excellent service. Tonight’s menu, as usual, was a large cheese pizza and a meat calzone. Perfection! Kids love having leftovers to eat too. I tried their Sicilian salad tonight and it was so good!!
Good food. Definitely can tell it's made and not thawed. We didn't receive out desert which we were excited about but thats okay.
Got there right before the lunch special was over so I ordered the calzone lunch special. The waitress was very nice and friendly and the calzone was pretty big and full of plenty of meat! If I'm being honest, I actually preferred the food from the one on University street. Their food came out pipping hot and the dough was a bit tastier. I'd still recommend this place though.
We were just trying to get to a different place this afternoon and saw the cute name. We decided that we’d give it a try tonight. The reviews seem good so here we are👍🏽😃 We were seated and waited on immediately. Our meals came with soup or salad we had one each. My chicken and rice soup was delicious. Hubby said his Cesar salad was very good as well. It took about 20 minutes to get our meal but Josh checked back often and kept our drinks full. I ordered the Chicken Saltimbacca, it was scrumptious 😋 Hubs ordered the lasagna, also yummy. There was so much left over... holy moly they give you a lot of food😩😩😩 but I have lunch for two days👍🏽👍🏽 I will definitely be back!!!
I got the special two slices and a drink for lunch. Good price, nice size slices and tasted just fine for a NY style. If I had to criticize, i would say a little too thin of a crust for my taste. I still enjoyed it.
Came here for the calzone, but I ended up getting the chicken parm and Cesar salad. Also ordered a chicken bacon pizza and a lasagna with a Cesar salad. Home style American-Italian isn't terribly fancy but always good. Small arcade and good service makes this appealing for family dining with the kiddos.
We stopped by while visiting Texas Tech for the first time. The restaurant is across from campus. Definitely college food, but we enjoyed the meal. The tossed salad was good. The calamari are chunks of the giant squid. We prefer the smaller squid. The pizza was good with pepper flakes. We also shared a lasagna that was okay. The restaurant was spacious and drinks can be refilled. The people behind the counter were friendly.
Refill? Who's heard of it? And just like other restaurant, ye syou get checked up on, but when it's a small building so you can littlerally see everyone, then why is it, you can sense a table needs service, and not check?
We still go because the Calzone is delicious and the lunch special is priced right.* Today though the service was mediocre. Also the last few times we have eaten there it seemed to have a musty smell. *. The price has gone up but still a better price than many competitors.
I would say below average pasta. Pizza was the best thing we had there, and if I was only reviewing the pizza, I would say 4.7 stars, but I'm not. The A/C temperature was a little warm. It's an older building, and you can tell. Thw Pizza oven in the maid room that you sit in. So that's not helping cool the place down any. The mozzarella cheese sticks. 1 out of 5 stars. Made from a prepackaged frozen generic band you can get from US. Foods or Sysco Food distributor. So stick to the pizza and get it to go, and you won't be disappointed.
Only the calzones was good for a pizza earlier looked burnt rough to bite threw didn’t look nothing like how the picture in the website looks and by the time we got home didn’t feel like calling to complain bt the calzone was good that’s it
I gave this place 5 stars years ago, but it’s really gone downhill. The price has jumped significantly and the Calzone has no filling…you basically get crust. For $11 this is a ripoff, especially when you can get a great Calzone at Dario’s for $7.75. One Guy needs to adjust their prices to be competitive or they’ll go out of business.
Highly disappointed in the quality in pizza. Sauce had no flavor. Crust was okay. Toppings tasted no better than a mass pizza joint. Cheesecake portion smaller for price and taste of store bought quality. Not worth the price given. Only thing that was of reasonable flavor was the hot boneless wings. Hence why it got the two stars. I do not recommend.
I cannot speak for their service as we ordered delivery. However, I can speak for the quality of the food that we ordered. The pizza had way too much cheese on it. I know it doesn't look like it in the picture, but the cheese was about 1" thick and it was the only thing I could taste. There was very little sauce, and the mushrooms were canned. The crust was phenomenal though, and I ended up scraping everything off and just eating it bare. My wife's calzone had almost no sauce on it as well. But she didn't have a whole bag of cheese dumped in it either. She said it "was alright, but needed way more sauce". The cheesesticks were just your average 'frozen to fryer' variety. It has potential, but they need to change up their ingredient ratios. And definitely stop using canned mushrooms.
So disappointed! I drive through Lubbock several times a month and I always stop in to grab the house calzones for my husband he absolutely loves them. So today I did just that and they are so much smaller than they usually are, hard as a rock and very little filling. I will say the flavor is there. I will be back One Guy from Italy. I sure hope you do better. I was in on Friday January 16 at 3ish.
Got three calzones and they were cold in the middle I wish they were as good as the first time I had them 20 years ago and the manager would not help me
The food is mediocre at best . The server Shauna is rude , disrespectful and unprofessional. She yells needlessly. Had to request another server. Hostess was doing half of her job for her and caused confusion. Then manager comes to ask if there is a problem and defends her actions . Will NOT be returning. Thank you Emily ( server ) for trying to make it right !
Order was wrong!!! Wife called in order and we waited the 15-20 minutes to pick it up. They repeated two incorrect orders and No one at the counter tried to fix the order or determine which order was incorrect. They just simply stated that it would be another 15-20 minutes. We waited and watched several of them just stand around laughing and joking not making our order a priority.
There were five tables in the whole place on Friday night. That should have tipped us off that something is amiss. We waited for 57 minutes for our food which did not come out entirely correct. So there was another weight on top of that. The restaurant was filthy and there had to be 20 people on staff running around there, all of which were eating behind the line... Just a health code violation... no biggie. Buddyman said this was the greatest Italian food he's ever had. He clearly went to a different restaurant than I did.
I had a very disappointing experience due to the poor service and bad manners from KAYLA . From the moment I arrived, I was met with rudeness and an unprofessional attitude. Instead of being helpful or polite, KAYLA seemed irritated and dismissive, making the whole experience uncomfortable. It’s frustrating when basic customer service — like respect and courtesy — is completely lacking. I expected much better and will definitely be taking my business elsewhere thanks to KAYLA
This place has been left in the west Texas dust - I knew Jerry V since I was 12 1980 when he was at the mall the quality and service since he sold out one guy has gone full on unpleasant and low quality. Who ever the girl with the hickies in her neck who checked me out tonight was the most unpleasant person I have ever dealt with at one guy and she is the very reason we will never return to one guy after 46 years of dining . From here on out we go to the original the one and “ONLY “ Jerry V - Papa V’s on the west side . You can NOT fake the greatest Sicilian to have ever set up shop in Lubbock Texas and one guy is not even close To Sicilian food. And that’s a fact, we will not be coming here to this imitation when we can have the real deal at Papa V’s
I ordered a four item 16” pizza. Peppers, onion, mushroom and beef if you can call it that. It’s probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had. I picked up the pizza on time but when I got home it was soft and almost soggy. It was a 16” pizza and most of the ingredients were in the center half of the pizza. There were moderate amounts of peppers, onions and mushrooms. The beef if you want to call it that was almost non existent!! Maybe if lucky a small handful covered the 16” pizza. This is the second time I’ve gotten a pizza from this location. I won’t be returning. I also threw out most of pizza as it was unpalatable.
Food: DO NOT order a chicken parm sandwich from here. It’s literally a frozen Tyson chicken patty cut and served on some bread. It felt very rubbery and had absolutely no flavor. That calzone is somewhat edible but very very Greasy. Service: The waitress was very good. The manager didn’t seem to take the criticism of their food too kindly. He kind of seemed to try and fear monger me when I did pick apart the food that was served. I would not recommend this place to anybody.
