Preguntas frecuentes sobre Wangs
Opiniones de Wangs Brooklyn
Great diverse menu, everything we tried was tasty. There were many different fried chicken menu items, but each had its own twist. Refreshing house-made iced tea to go with it all too! Will certainly return.
I don't often write reviews but this place deserves all the success. Their fried chicken banh mi is just an outstanding sandwich - crisp, perfectly seasoned chicken with all the essential fillings and cilantro lime aioli on a fresh semolina baguette - and their fries are served with several thoughtfully spiced sauces. This is fusion with some real soul.
This is some GOOD chicken! Had the chicken sandwich, slaw, mac n cheese, and whole chicken. EVERYTHING was amazing. LOVED the wonderful combo of flavors on the chicken sandwich. The only complaint I could possibly have is a couple bites of the whole fried chicken was a little too salty. The spicy sauce and garlic ginger aoili was soooo good. Oh and the cornbread was good too! It was moist and a little sweet. To drink we tried the blueberry hibiscus which i didn't like because it was unsweetened (my husband didn't tell me that lol). Surprisingly I liked the peach and cardamom tea. I don't even like cardamom. It had a little sweetness to it. I would definitely recommend this place!
Perfect fried chicken to satisfy my craving. Popcorn chicken is superb. All sides rocked. Delivery was fast.
The wings are crunchy and juicy. I love the sauce on it. I can’t believe how filling 3 wings are. It was easy to rip apart and chow down. Very delish!! It was perfection!! 🤤😋
Literally a hole in the wall, stumbled up on this place because it is in reaching distance from my house, have been going back for years and it is my number one spot to go to when I’m home from college. The chicken sandwich is the bomb, the fries are thin and crispy. Excellent food, I recommend going the extra dollar and getting the garlic aioli for dipping. Love this place.
Takeout took a pretty long time, like 45 minutes. But it was worth the walk or two around the block - the chicken sandwich was delicious and I couldn’t even finish half of the popcorn chicken! Interesting sauces too. Staff was friendly, and it looks like they put up a little foyer to protect against the cold!
Delicious food, quick service. We originally tried to get a table at a place down the street but the wait was going to be 45 minutes. Went to Wangs and had delicious food within 10 minutes. We got popcorn chicken and corn bread and potato salad and it was all really good quality.
Incredible food & incredible customer service. The people at Wangs are so nice and were very flexible with me with a recent catering order, really showing me hospitality and kindness. Order wangs for your next event, we are so lucky to have them in the neighborhood.
Food was delish. First time here so I got the Wang's. Gigantic wings. My friend and I couldn't finish 9 wings. I also had the fries which were seasoned perfectly. Just ate them as is. I finished those.
Best Korean fried Wings I've ever had Great customer service with a smile Food was So Fresh & Hot I wanted to go back after my first bite will be back
This place is outstanding. The Wang's lol seem expensive with them being 10 dollars for 3 and 27 dollars for 9. But the size of them are huge. The 9 piece can feed two people easily. Also the Korean chicken is incredible as well as the southern fried Chicken. More girlfriend said it's better than sweet chick but don't tell Nas. It's an order out place only but dose have a small bench in the front to eat or wait if the weather permits it.
Very crispy wings, sauce spicy and sweet. The grits were a great side dish.
Quite literally a hole in the wall, with an order window and picnic tables outside, Wangs does its name justice and then some. There are plentiful options and serving sizes, ranging from wings to fried chicken to chicken sandwiches. The "jumbo" wings their menu describes and certainly bigger than average, and definitely feel fairly priced. I had the non-spicy sauce on my wings, and it was simply fantastic! Tons of flavor, and the wings were fried to perfection with a crispy better. Overall one of the best chicken places around, and a must try.
I stop by Wang’s every time I pass through Park Slop. It’s honestly the best chicken wings I’ve ever had in my life. The wings are cooked and seasoned to perfection. You basically get two wings for the price of one. My husband and I would order the 6 wings with fries and still have leftovers. I can’t say enough good things about this place.
Best fusion spot, Korean wings with a southern twist to it. I ordered their wings which were a hit and the sesame french fries, far out best combination ever!! Can't stop talking about it. If this place was by my house i would eat here 24/7
Best chicken I've ever had!!! Today was my third time and I will definitely come back. Sara was super nice, fast, and helpful. She even offered some wet wipes so I could clean my hands before eating
Wangs did an amazing job catering an event for over 100 people for my work. The owner, Sara made sure everything went super smoothly, even having staff come in a bit early and coming with the delivery to make sure everything went seemlessly. Not to mention the fried chicken being super tasty! 10/10 would recommend!
You could call this establishment a "hole in a wall" literally, & what does history teach us about "holes in the wall"? - They almost ALWAYS produce the best food!!! Let's talk about service. 1st, we were greeted at the window and conversed about the chefs favorite things on the menu, we couldn't decide, so my husband and I pretty much purchased some "wangs" and most of the sides. The fries... I could eat these fries every day for the rest of my life. The flavor was EVERYTHING!!! I'm a southern grit girl, and I loved their grits with coconut milk. They were seasoned to perfection. The Mac and cheese was alright. I'll give it a 7. I was disappointed in the collards, but only because they could've used more seasoning, & I honestly liked the kimchi more. Corn bread, I would rate a 7 also. Now the star of the show them "WANGS" They get two snaps in a circle you hear me!!! Man, they were finger licking good. Overall, there's some quality food being pumped out of this spot- GO GET YOU SUM!
Delicious. Adorable hole in the wall. Just yes. Do it. Hot wings are massive and yummy, not too hot. Slaw is amazing. Also really enjoyed buttermilk salad with sesame. Love the mix of southern comfort and Asian flavors. Think it’s better to pick up than delivery (took a long time).
Wings were delicious, tender and crunchy. Great sticky non -spicy sauce (spicy one is also an option). Food was ready in 20 minutes. Good collard greens, pickles and cornbread.
The food is amazing!!! I tried kimchi loaded potatoes + egg sandwich and loved them. Tastes are so good like Korean - Mexican fusion. I will definitely come back to try chicken wings! If you are around and you love street food, you must try this one.
I came here on a spring evening to get a quick dinner. Their menu theme is wings, of all sorts of chicken styles. I got their Korean wings and a side of macaroni. The menu suggests a person can only eat three and they are right. The wings are massive, much bigger than a regular drumstick or wing. Three was enough for me. There are a few tables outside, but no other seating options. I ate here even as the sun went down and the wind picked up. I imagine most customers just do pickup.
Along the very best ordering options in Park Slope—their Korean wings are superb, and all the sides are excellent. Our faves are the collards, grits and cornbread.
We’ve been eating at Wangs for a while now and have only had great experiences. From the care put into the food to the friendliness of the staff, Wangs always comes through. I really love their hearty take on the Bahn Mi with a strip of crispy, fried chicken. The savory crunch plays off the more traditional Vietnamese filling. Their sides are not to be missed; reinterpretations of southern comfort foods with tangy and delightful Asian ingredients. The chicken’s always been crisp and crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Plus, you can’t go wrong with their brick of cornbread and selection of house made dipping sauces.
Surprising how delicious the food is from such an unpretentious tiny kitchen. I actually don't like the extra big wings which can be a bit chewy, but everything thing else is somehow so very delicious. The watercress in the salad is always particularly good and all of the sides I have tried were better than I imagined they could be. I'm not usually big on potato salad but I love how they make it. I would never have guessed their special loaded potatoes with kimchi would be addicting as I don't usually like kimchi. The collards, corn and grits have been just as delicious. I love you Wangs!
Alright so I stumbled upon Wangs by complete accident but the scent of their kitchen lured it's way to my nose and instantly get my attention. I felt like one of those cartoons that just got lured somewhere from the scent of something delicious. I crossed my fingers in the hopes that it would taste as good as it smelled and it did NOT disappoint! Wangs serves up some delicious wings, amazing cornbread, and great potato salad! I wish I lived closer so I could get it more frequently! But I'll be back!
This place is amazing! All the dishes feel so thoughtful and well composed. I love a fried chicken with fresh things like cilantro, watercress and a more thought provoking pickled item than simple briny cucumbers. This place is worth it imo, but what do I know I just went to culinary school ✌🏼
huge crispy deliciously spicy korean fried chicken wings, I’m absolutely obsessed with this place. 3 wings is more than enough for one average adult, and an order of the korean wings comes with delicious fries too! we also got mac and cheese (must order, it’s too good), kimchi (great to cut the heaviness of everything else!), and cornbread (so good, the herb butter is everything). I will be back and I’ll make sure I’m starving when i arrive next time!
The wings are seasoned really well and very crispy. I tried the collard greens, mac and cheese, and the cornbread. Everything was delicious.
So delicious. The crisp on the skin is perfect. Nice crunch but doesn't completely come off when you bite into it. Both the fried chicken and the wings themselves are a delightful treat. Also all the sides, pickles, Mac and cheese, fries are on par with the the chicken. Check out the menu on line and go get some. In addition to the delicious food the service is friendly and fast.
I don’t know how I’ve missed this place for so long, but now that I’ve found it I’m never letting go! Every thing I’ve had here is delicious; the wings are so crispy and meaty and the sticky sweet spicy wang sauce is addictive. I tried the grits on my most recent order and once again I am obsessed! So rich and buttery and the coconut milk is a great twist.
In an area with 4 microbreweries there is a need of food to go with beer. This is a good place to obtain that food. The popcorn chicken will go well with any beer such as the ones found nearby at Strong Rope or Wild East Brewing. The choice of sauce to go with the popcorn chicken is up to the individual.
Having viewed a clip about their amazing wings, I stopped by just before noon on Friday to give Wangs a try. Firstly, I was greeted by Marisol. Such a pleasant and helpful representative whose customer service was absolutely outstanding! She was helpful, patient, knowledgeable about her product, and made the best recommendations. I was utterly taken by her service that I promised to come back based on her service alone. I was parked at a fire hydrant and had to keep an eye out for the Meter Patrols as I waited for my order to be processed, and just when I thought to make my way back to the window, wouldn't you know it that Marisol delivered my food to my window 😃 Can you say wow-wee!!!!! ❤️ Thank you, again Marisol, and to the Chef in the back that prepared my food. Which, by the way, was delicious 😋 Wangs fries and wings are delightfully delicious. Hands down.
I only got the wings and couldn't eat them right away. When I did get to them about an hour later, I was impressed by how crispy they still were. I got the spicy sauce and it was spicy, but I wouldn't get the non spicy, just doesn't seem right. I'm definitely gonna go back and get some sides though and eat it right there so I can get the full effect. Oh, it's a counter style spot and they only have outdoor seating, so keep that in mind when planning your trip if you don't live nearby.
Absolutely loved this place and will be definitely coming back! The fried chicken sandwich was my fav. Potato salad??? So good.
Had the fried chicken Bahn mi. Very tasty, can recommend. Note that there's no indoor seating so it'll be takeout or eat at one of the three outdoor tables.
Ordered the original Wangs and they were delicious. We had kids, so we opted for the non-spicy version so that everyone could eat them. We picked it up to go and as soon as we got home we opened the bags so they didn’t steam up. This wing style is a full LARGE wing 🪽 and not the broken down versions you see like buffalo wings. You get the drummette, the wingette, and the wing tip. Many places discard the wing tip but this has all the pieces so nothing is wasted! Excellent with a bowl 🍚 of steamed rice since the chicken is so flavorful. Highly recommend you get some Wangs! 👌🏼✨
I just ate hear for the first time and loved it! I got the wings with the non spicy traditional sauce and the coconut milk grits, both were delicious. The wings were crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside, the sauce was delicious and not overly sweet. I didn’t know what to expect from the grits and was delighted by the coconut milk not being overly strong, the peppers and scallions on top added a nice touch. The service was just as good as the food, the women who helped me was upbeat and pleasant! I sat outside, enjoying the food fresh from the kitchen! I can’t wait to go back!
Wangs has nailed the way an outdoor eatery ought to be. What is there not to love about Wangs if you are in the mood for a chicken meal! Serving a variety of house items such as the popcorn chx or fried chx sandwich, there is also a wonderful selection of healthy side dishes such as collard greens or kimchi. The summer special corn on the cob with a topping of sesame sauce, spices and lime was delicious. I loved the unsweetened iced hibiscus lemon tea, a perfect thirst quencher for the hot NYC summer weather.
Every time I order from here in person or online, it's been easy and on time every time. Can confirm the wangs sauce is the best and should be chosen every time. Both hot and not hot are 👍
I hadn’t had Wangs Fried Chicken in a while and tonight it tasted just as delicious as the first time I tried it in 2019- huge wings seasoned just right, fried to tender deliciousness and smothered in Wangs addictive Hot Sauce. My side of seasoned shoestring fries were also delicious and a perfect accompaniment. I really love Wangs flavor profile and how fresh everything is (I swear I tasted fresh dill in their ranch dipping sauce). It’s important to me to support local, small businesses so Wang’s will forever be one of my go-to places. FYI- it was cheaper ordering delivery directly on Wangs website than from that other orange company that partners with that huge conglomerate online shopping site.
Who would turn down an opportunity to eat Asian-inspired soul food. I read about this place on Instagram and I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! The wings were delicious. I got mine with the Wang hot sauce. The wings are a nice size with crunch and lots of flavor. I also got the mac n cheese which was quite good, but in my opinion, a little expensive for the size. Even still, I felt satisfied just having the wings and mac n cheese but I hope to try some of the other items one day. Beware... it's not an eat-in restaurant. There is some seating in front, but very little. Also, the beverage menu is limited. The cashier was super nice and I will definitely return.
I literally just picked up my order and scrambled to write a review as fast as possible. It’s SO. DANG. GOOD. The boneless wings? Fire. The fries? Fire. The potato salad? Fire. The kimchi? FIRE. The sauces? Yum. It was a brief interaction at the window but the staff was all smiles and so friendly!
The spicy korean fried chicken was deliciously spicy! They recommend 3 wings per person as a serving (because I was about to order 6 and that would've been way too much food!). The person helping me seemed like she was the owner and was very kind and attentive ❤️. There's not a ton of outdoor seating but I enjoyed my little chair and table while looking down the neighborhood street. I would come here again and brings friends (or take your food to go!)
Wangs is my joint! Wait what! Ordered pick up. It’s a really cute little a takeout window a few doors into the block with some limited seating outside but it was too cold so we just went around the corner to the sacket (a small dive that lets you bring in outside food!). What’s not like chicken and beers. The chicken was so damn crispy and omg the sauce is amazing! I wish they would bottle it because I would put it on everything. Nom, nom, nom! The 3 piece wangs is super filling…much bigger than expected. Love all their sides, favs being the French fries, grits, corn bread and pickles! I’ve ordered delivery too from their website for girls night in…Netflix and chicken! Support small businesses, AAPI and women owned ones.
I had the opportunity to enjoy some delectable Korean BBQ wings that I ordered for takeout. I savored them while situated just across the street, and I must say, they were truly exceptional. The wings exhibited a delightful crispy texture, an exquisite flavor that tantalized my taste buds, and just the right amount of heat to enhance the overall experience. As someone who frequently indulges in Korean BBQ wings, I find it customary to draw comparisons with other establishments, such as Wangs. Needless to say, my anticipation to revisit this establishment is palpable.
I’ve ordered delivery from Wangs for a number of years now and their food is always solid. I usually get 3 wings, with a side of the cucumbers and a couple Foco mango juices. If you’re wondering if 3 wings is enough to fill you up, it IS! I’ve also had the Mac and cheese (delicious) and the side salad. The chicken is consistently really good. The hotter sauce is definitely hotter, so I only order that occasionally. The chicken is juicy, crispy and always arrives hot. This is also one of the few places that sells the Foco mango juice which, if you know, you know!
Hands down some of the Very BEST Fried Chicken in Brooklyn. The chicken itself is done to perfection . Crispy is an understatement. GBD==Golden Brown and Delicious. I'm a huge fan of the hot sauce . I hadn't been in a few years but I stopped by today. It hasnt changed in fact it got even better . I was so happy that I decided to stop by today . Support local Chefs doing good things.. If your looking for Fried Chicken this place should be on your list of must try's.....
I can only speak on the signature fried chicken because that is all I ever need to get from Wangs. Generously sized box of whole chicken, tender and well seasoned. Dribbled on the soy garlic sauce. Add a homemade fancy salad, and it’s the perfect easy dinner.
The wings are in my top 10. If I had to be honest normally when I get these I like to go someplace private. Just so that I don’t scare anyone as I devour these wings. The other items are really good but it’s all about the wings for me. They’ve got nice spice not greasy. Just crispy fried goodness.
Korean wings, fries and cornbread was very good. Full of flavor. Mac and cheese was a fail. No sure if it was onion crisp or something spread over the Mac and cheese but it was not enjoyable. The Mac itself wasn't enjoyable. I'll maybe order from then again just not the Mac and cheese.
Only got the popcorn chicken as a snack (so this isn't a very complete review), but it was solid. I'd say the chicken itself was nicely crisped and less salty than other fried chickens I've had, so the dipping sauce played a big role. The hot honey wasn't really my thing, but I loved the kimchi aioli
Wangs was great! Pick up was efficient and loved almost everything we ordered - fries, kimchi, corn bread, Mac n cheese and all the sauces ! My only critique would be the popcorn chicken was fine but the breading was pretty lack luster and somewhat bland.
Wangs is amazing, just DON’T USE the preferred delivery through Sauce. Food was taking too long so I tried to cancel the order and wasn’t able to. Then apparently the delivery person still delivered it but to the wrong address. Never ended up getting my food. Just use door dash or seamless
WANGS Chicken is definitely a wow (order the spicy one please!!). Great balance between spice, sweet and saltiness. Every bite is fulfilling and joyful! This is definitely one of the best Asian style fried chicken that I’ve ever had in the US. But their normal fried chicken and popcorn chicken were really just mediocre. Dry (not juicy at all), plain, not very crispy, and the condiments were disappointing(tried 3 but none of them were good). I’ll mark this restaurant in Google Maps, but just for WANGS Chicken. Will come back and try more sides though.
My recent experience with Wangs was amazing. They're back on track serving the same amazing product that I remember. We were there Saturday and the wings and fried chicken were excellent. Service was better too, I think She's the owner or manager. Top notch Wangs. Wangs has been amazing in the past, the food was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The wings are now tough and over cooked, and finding a few feathers didn't help. The fried chicken didn't fair well either, it was bland and boring, lacking the same flavor profile of the past, the breading or flour seamed like dry powder. The frys, and mac cheese were both ok but nothing memorable. I've been a fan since 2009, the food was amazing, and my meals were nothing less than great over the years. Most recent visit has been very disappointing.
Food was really good and the service was excellent. The employees are very polite and helpful besides being upbeat and not pushy and sarcastic. My only gripe was the crazy amount of Bees 🐝 by the garbage 🗑 pail which was overflowing with garbage but I have to say that the employees were busy, but still not an excuse to change bags for the overall comfort of ur customers. Alot more Pros than Cons for sure. Definitely check it out if you can. It's a neighborhood gem 💎.
The fried chicken 10/10… so good and fried to perfection.. the Mac n cheese 5/10, I’m not a fan of the breadcrumbs on top. The French fries 10/10… and the cornbread 9/10… overall the food and service was good. This place is expensive!!!The only reason I may not return is because I have an upset stomach now after eating here. I read someone’s review with the same issue but I still wanted to try this place lol
I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was pretty good.. the chicken itself was crispy and really tasty, although it was super thin like a schnitzel. But overall the sandwich was dry and kinda bland. It needs something more, like a sweet or spicy element would be nice, even something pickled - I think a good sauce would do it wonders. Also a bit expensive - $15 cash or $17 card ..for one sandwich. After I paid, I asked if they have any hot sauce (there was a tiny cup of sauce sitting right there), and she said $1 extra. I said no thanks. I had high hopes, but got a "just take your food, and move along" experience. Kinda disappointing. A dry sandwich should come with some sauce. Maybe I'll give it another shot.
This was good not great. Fries weren’t bad. Chicken was nice and crispy but I wasn’t in love with their sauce options. I would prefer like a sweet and spicy sauce or some more traditional flavors. The dipping sauce was good but I didn’t like that it was extra and kind of expensive (1.25 each). The lime soda was good but I think it could have been a touch sweeter. I would go back to try some other sides and the spicy wings. We got the classic
Small hole in the wall place where you order through the window. I ordered some classic wings in their signature sauce and some popcorn chicken. Staff was great and food came out pretty quickly. The wings were really good. The sauce was very good and had just enough kick. Their popcorn chicken threw me off though...they seem to use small thigh meat...which was unsual and throws the taste off a bit. Next time I will stick to the classic wings and maybe even try some sides.
I stopped by this restaurant while in the area for an appointment nearby. I had been craving down home southern style food but I thought I'd give this place a try - soul food with a twist. The cashier at the window seemed pretty friendly and helpful while I placed my order. This spot is pretty much a take out place but there are some tables and benches outside. Honestly, I ordered way to much food but there was so much I wanted to try. I ordered half a fried chicken with potato salad, collard greens and cornbread. Getting the food home was difficult because I was so curious and everything smelled great. But once I got home to try the food my excitement faded a little I must admit. First, I'll start with what I thought was the best part of the meal - the cornbread. It was excellent and cake like but not sweet like typical southern style cornbread. The scallion butter was the perfect finishing touch but I would've preferred if it was served separately. By the time I got home the butter was all over and came through the bag the bread was in. The collard greens were delicious but in my opinion had to much of the sausage in one serving. The potato salad was very different but good however, it was hard for me not to compare it to what I'm used. It lacked the flavor that I'm used to in its traditional version. I had high expectations for the chicken but when I tried the breast - which is my favorite part - it was undercooked and the batter was still gooey in some areas. This is a definite issue that needs to be resolved. I had planned to try their wings at another time but after this experience I'm not sure about a repeat visit because the prices are pretty high.
We love Wangs - we used to make a pilgrimage at least once a month! But our last order was 9 wangs - all dry, all overcooked and jerky-like. It was unfortunate enough we didn’t finish it. How can the quality come back up - what happened?
Not worth the money. Wangs were decent although they could’ve used some more salt. I love kimchi, but theirs lacked a depth of flavor that I would expect from homemade. As far as I could tell it was only cabbage, no other veggies. It was fine, but for the price I expected more, especially since there’s only outdoor seating
I got a stomach ache conveniently after I ate here but the wangz were good and the Mac and cheese. I’m not sure how to feel about eating here again but the customer service was good! Kind staff! I wish they had indoor seating though.
Good? Yes. Overpriced? Extremely! Would I go back?.............🤔 Maybe when I hit the lotto. This place has decent food, the staff is friendly and has short wait times that offer outdoor dining. But the food is way over priced. I can’t get over the fact that just (3) regular sized chicken wings cost $10. Six I believe was $19, which is madly absurd. They’d have to offer a some sort of special for me to come back. But just for the hell of it, I’ll pin y’all on google maps! Still enjoyed!
Wanna is usually delicious this particular day the wings were mid. But will definitely always come back. I love the fries and the dips.
I ordered the Wangs with Hot Sauce and Mac and Cheese. The wings themselves had an even crunchy breading, with a beautiful carmel coating to them. The sauce was delightful in spice and had a careful heat that built throughout your mouth. It’s on the sweeter end, which at first was a little confusing, but ended up being a nice contrast to the heat of the wings. The chicken itself was not as juicy or seasoned as I was expecting, which left a little bit more reliance on the flavor of the sauce The Mac and Cheese looked phenomenal and was a nice texture in noodle. However, there was a heavy spiced flavor profile, something like a clove or cinnamon that cut through the saltiness that I was expecting. The gochugaru breadcrumbs was a great texture combination. If you enjoy a thick, cheesy mac and cheese with a strong cheddar profile, this would work for you!
Stopped by Wangs today while I was in the area,The fried chicken with Asian sauce was absolutely delicious, paired perfectly with the cornbread sides and mac & cheese. My grandson tried the Popcorn chicken nips, but they weren't really his favorite. The French fries were just okay, but the mac & cheese was definitely a winner for him. Overall, a satisfying visit!
Only take out available at this location. Stumbled onto this place by default was looking for pizza by the slice. It was only available by the personal pie next door. Try the Korean Chicken Sandwich 😋 if you're into spicy foods. Great customer service, parking is limited though it's a residential area. It's also accessible by public transportation. For curious minds the answer is NO. I AM NOT GETTING PAID FOR THESE REVIEWS YET. Just for the record. As a human being I just don't think that one should go crazy searching for food. I am a genuine foodie. I also believe that sharing is caring so pass it on.
I really wanted to like this place, but the only thing that is worth getting here are the actual “wings”. They are seasoned, huge, crispy and the sauce is great and flavorful. Everything else absolutely SUCKS. I guess it’s what I get from expecting any kind of good “soul food” to come out of park slope. The sides are absolutely disgusting, shameful and do not deserve to be in the category of “soul food”. Macaroni is unflavored, no butter, milk and hardly a speck of cheese with dry unseasoned bread dust on top. Cornbread is dry as hell and granulated left over feeling in your mouth. Collards watery and dreadful. It’s like they did not study actual soul food cooking or spend time eating lots of it. And if the plan was to make it more “healthy” then you should not be modeling the menu off of soul food in the first place. We put lots of flavor in our food and we marinate it for hours and we use butter and fat! This place is about the wings and they did a great job, but I still can’t get past the disgraceful side options. If I come back it will only be for the wings.
Today my wings were a extremely off. The flavors and goodness my family and I have grown accustom to was very bland!! I wonder if you guys hired a new cook or something. We Came from Queens for wings and $80 later Very Disappointed.
Beautiful presentation and the chicken is cooked to perfection. BUT it is a 100% miss on flavor. The spicy wings and their potatoes are the best of the menu but even that doesn't compare to much cheaper spots out in Flushing or Lower East Side. The whole fried chicken and mac and cheese were severely lacking. Salt saved the mac and cheese and we tossed the heavily soy seasoned greens, but that chicken needed much more. I've been in the area for 6 years and don't understand why this place is so popular but would bet it's because it's pleasing to the Caucasian palate. I gave it two chances and both times regret not ordering elsewhere.
Fast delivery! Everything else was just disappointing. Flavors all seemed muted, popcorn chicken was dry, wing sauce was only “spicy” because they dumped chili flakes on top. The sauce was just one note (honey sweetness). There are better wings and better fried chicken to be found in the area.
I got this recommended to me and unfortunately was rather disappointed. The spicy glaze on the chicken wings is just hot spicy, not spicy as in flavourful, the meat was very dry and the breading didn't adhere well to the wings (came off completely in some parts, was super stuck in others) The mac and cheese were bland and I had an odd feeling of my stomach just closing up after a few bites.
Cute whole in the wall spot. I can see their vision but as an African American from the south the soul food concept was not a hit. The Mac & Cheese bland, Collard greens not cooked all the way; very crunchy, and the “Sweet Tea” gave very much Iced tea and not a drop a sugar to be found. The wings were fresh and tasty but also overpriced ! Overall they need a little more work. A for effort though!
I don't know how to describe it,but it's not a cafe or something like that. There is one window and inside kitchen, where they cook chicken wings 9 PC for 30+$$$$ Tables and chairs metal and dirty, there is no border between walking street,no napkins, nothing to bring yyour attention to sit down, just painted wall with advertising, over pricing,we came because of tiktok advertising, but we left Needs a lot of work for that price
I asked the lady for a taste of the hot sauce after I just purchased $76 of wings for me and my family to try and she got upset and rude. I asked her to cancel my purchase which she refused. Very disturbed by her attitude, then she tried to cover it up by telling me that She’s working alone what does that have to do with courtesy and respect to your customers I would not recommend this place to anyone
I don't even really know where to start this review. My friend and I went over the weekend and we were so excited because we had heard really good things about this place. We ordered popcorn chicken, mac and cheese, fries and cornbread. Everything we ordered except for the fries was awful, terrible, inedible and highly disappointing. It was far too expensive for what we received. The mac and cheese had a really weird seasoning on it that just simply does not go with mac and cheese.. and it was soupy.. not cheesy at all. The popcorn chicken was dry and tasteless.. difficult to chew. The cornbread was lacking in flavor as well and had an off texture to it. The fries were really the only thing that tasted good.. I give this place a 0/10 and would never recommend for anyone to go here. Granted we did not order the actual wings.. but if they can mess up popcorn chicken I would not trust them with a whole piece of chicken. I actually like.. really want my money back. It was so disappointing and gross.
Ordered delivery and the Chicken nuggets tasted stale as if someone had refried them after being left out for a long time. Fries were the same corn bread was fine but I like cornbread
