Opiniones de Lite Bites Brooklyn
This diner is adorable. The atmosphere is friendly/warm and welcoming. The food was good and the prices are pretty ok as well. Good vibes!
Got some eggs and potatoes before my tattoo appointment around the block. The food was perfect.
We love our neighbor and their delicious paninis & other savory treats. Staff works hard, yet always has time to be happy & super friendly. Highly recommended!
Got the vegan platter: Jamaican dhal and rice curry (rice had corn and peppers) $14.13. Gave me a sample of the curry before i ordered, yummy and the woman who works there is so nice
Great customer service! Super nice person the one who took my order.Best from a deli I’ve seen so far. Took my order with some substitutes and they delivered right away. Delicious wrap!!!
The bacon hashwich is DELICIOUS! 2 eggs, bacon, cheese, hash brown, avocado, and sriracha aioli on brioche. Sooooo good. I’ll definitely come back :) and they’re very friendly!
Love Love Lite Bites ... the cashier is so kind and always smiling excellent customer service and the food omg the food ... been hooked on their new Caribbean menu ... so delicious . Just what greenpoint needed some food with flavor
Lite bites is my favorite place to go if I am feeling homesick. Shivani and Tina are the most amazing women working at the front - this is a place you go for good food and good people!
The woman behind the counter is extremely kind and welcoming. I always feel at home walking through the door and for the price the food is great. Best neighborhood joint
I come here every time I'm in the area cause the caribbean menu is the BOMB. Corn and dumpling soup, Curry chicken, roti, Dahl, bake and saltfish.. can't get enough. I'm usually there around lunch time and it gets pretty hectic but whoever is working the counter is always hustling. Juggling 5 things at once but still manages a smile and pleasantries.
First time there and recommended from a friend. Nice and cozy little diner with a wide variety of foods. I will definitely come here again.
Best food and kindest service! 10/10 recommend. The bacon hashwhich is a go-to breakfast sandwich!
Eating lite bite's bake and fried fish and had to stop to share how good it is. So grateful to have it in the neighborhood, you have to go and try the trini food if you haven't!!!!
Lite Bites makes you feel as if you’re eating with family! The workers are amazing! Friendly and welcoming with great service and amazing food!
Service and food are excellent. The Caribbean menu is out of this world! The only place that sells Caribbean food in Northern brooklyn!
A true Greenpoint gem. Come for the Caribbean menu, stay because they make literally everything you could want and the staff are lovely.
we order lite bites every morning at the office. great food.
This place is great! Amazing Trinidadian food, good salads and breakfasts. The staff is so lovely!
Cutest little diner with an old school homey feel. Prices are great considering it's location. Definitely a 10 out of 10.
Great spot. Quick, friendly, plenty of low key seating and good food. Large menu of options.
Trinidadian food in Greenpoint, good stuff, doubles only on Wednesday, needs to be daily, mainstays like roti, no need to schlep to downtown Brooklyn for authentic dishes
Prices are very good, there is a huge selection of food to choose from, and the people who work there are very sweet. Definitely recommend this place and specifically recommend a BLT on a croissant.
The woman behind the counter is a ray of light! She makes me look forward to starting my day and is always smiling and positive. I once got caught in a Nor’easter without an umbrella, and when I came into Lite Bites soaking wet, she gave me an umbrella to borrow for the day! What a life saver!!! Definitely my favorite breakfast spot, not just for the great food at great prices, but also for the stellar service :)
The woman behind the counter makes me want to get up in the morning with a smile. I look forward to seeing her in the mornings! I have been going here for over a year now, and have not gotten a bad meal. Her positive vibes are addictive. I have gone in there just to but a bottle of tea to get a couple minutes to interact with her. The world needs more people like her. And the Trinidadian food which I've never enjoyed before is amazing! Between her breakfast selection and the hot lunch table I could... And would eat there every day if I was in the neighborhood.
I really like this place. Service is great. Friendly. And it's affordable. Bagel Point, Three decker diner both way overpriced. Support Lite Bites, it's not a health food be or diet place. They should change their name. But they've worked really hard thru covid they are a great neighborhood mom n pops kinda place
This little gem on Manhattan is a wonderful place to visit if your need tasty food. I am of Caribbean decent so I was really happy to find out that the owner is Trinidadian. I usually order the curry chicken roti with pepper sauce and man oh man it's delicious!!! I've also had other menu items such as the breakfast sandwiches pancakes & soup. Everything is made fresh and the owner along with the workers are so friendly & welcoming! This is a must visit restaurant in Greenpoint especially that it's the only Caribbean restaurant on Manhattan Ave!
Might be the best daal, I've ever tasted. Got a Curry Goat & Vegetarian platter, and it's comfort food at it's best. Combine this with lovely owners, and you get a lazy non-reviewer person like myself, specifically signing on to leave 5-stars.
Although this place is a traditional diner, they seriously have the best Trinidadian/Caribbean food around- and it's only available during lunch on weekdays! If you don't mind bone-in chicken and spicy authentic Caribbean curry, I highly recommend their dhal + rice platters with curry chicken, jerk chicken and goat roti. They are consistently super tasty and fresh. And we always order an extra entree because these meals reheat so well. Definitely order bone-in chicken instead of boneless (which tends to get a tad dry). And ask for extra spicy pepper sauce!
Love this place. I come here for lunch every single day. The family who owns this are the nicest people that you will ever meet. You can basically eat any type of meal that you’re craving here! Great for the neighborhood
The best in Brooklyn :) you have to try them out! Best fresh squeezed orange juice and breakfast sandwich super yummy. Thank you so much for great food and service
TRIED THE SAUSAGE, EGG, CHEESE AND HASHBROWN ON AN ENGLISH MUFFIN & IT WAS INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. ALL OF THE INGREDIENTS WERE VERY FRESH AND MOST IMPORTANTLY NOT FULL OF OIL. THE ORANGE JUICE IS TO DIE FOR- FRESHLY SQUEEZED. I AM SUPER PLEASED WITH THIS CAFE AND WILL BE RECOMMENDING FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO GO SUPPORT THEM AND TRY THEIR FANTASTIC FOOD OPTIONS. THANK YOU SO MUCH LITE BITES CAFE!
This is the best West Indian food I’ve ever had in New York City, highly recommended! Had it today for the first time and I will most definitely be back. Worth a trip to Greenpoint just to have lunch their!
Good place to get food when you're in a rush. Fast service. Food is good. Prices keep the bank from foreclosing on your home. Excellent every time.
Literally the best Caribbean food you can ask for ! Always fresh and delicious 😋 customer service is always on point so that’s a plus! I promise you won’t regret it ! This is my favorite spot for breakfast and for lunch!
VERY GOOD FOOD AT A VERY GOOD PRICE. SERVICE IS FAST AND EASY.
Sonnn! They make the best sandwiches here and it’s more a “Lite Bits” with the quotes cause them plates are as big as you please. Music is great too. Dope study spot for students on zoom :)
Got the Hashwich breakfast sandwich and it was the best breakfast Sammie I’ve had in the Greenpoint area to date. Sooo yummy and satisfying. A bit of a kick with the spicy Mayo !
For the past four years, my son and I have enjoyed coming to Lite Bites. Not only is the menu so extensive, but the energy is unmatched. Shavann, her husband, and my boo Victor , greets every costumer with such love and good energy every morning. The music that plays in the deli gets you in a good mood for the day. For years she has cared for my son, sometime walking him up the block to school for me on mornings I had to run to work early. Not to mention the real authentic Trini food that's also hot and ready and found no where else in this Greenpoint area. So if you are looking for a good Roti. Check out Lite Bite.
I stumbled upon this spot on my way to get some doughnuts. Now this is the reason I head to Greenpoint! A quality roti is a joy forever! The woman at the counter is always very kind, even when she's swamped! I have mad love for this place and I look forward to getting my roti fix. I might have to go in the next couple of days! Thank you!!! 💚(More cabbage please😋)
The service is excellent and they're all so friendly. The food is amazing and you get a great portion for the price. Let's not forget about the dope music being played 👌
Awesome place Ask for extra spicy on your Beyond Hashwich If you can handle it
UPDATE: May 4, 2025 It's been weighing on me that this review started out negative. I'm not going to change the edit. But I would like to add something.... I have honestly never dealt with a friendlier group of people than the people I've interacted with at Lite Bites. I feel warm and safe and welcome whenever I step through the door. Facts. Not only do the people behind the counter make this place a real gem in the 'hood, they're a good example of how we should all treat each other: With kindness and patience. Thank you Lite Bites!! Sorry I started out negative before. ----------------------------- I will admit that my usual reason for visiting Lite Bites is to grab a coffee for a couple bucks when all the other coffee shops have lines and I’m running to catch the train, late for a job. I make coffee at home mostly and when I purchase a cup at full retail price I consider it an expensive treat. And boy howdy do I love to treat myself. And I wish I could say coffee was my only indulgence. Neither here nor there. I’m talking about a super great sandwich I finished only moments ago that cost me less than $10 in Greenpoint. To each their own and thank goodness we don’t all have the exact same tastes. Modern white middle class life can be torturously boring sometimes as it is. You know what’s not tortuously boring? A Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich on perfectly toasted rye bread, with just enough mayo from Lite Bites. I took it to go. Ran up the block and up the stairs to my apartment. I didn’t want the wrapped up hot toast to get steamed and soggy. To my great pleasure and delight - voila! The perfect ratio of not-too-salty bacon hot from the sizzling griddle, snappy crisp romaine lettuce, and a cold tomato that didn’t totally suck. All sandwiched delightfully between two slices of warm crunchy rye. If you like BLTs, you’ll probably like this one. I give it a 9 out of 10 for Diner/Deli BLTs. Back in 2010 I had a motorcycle. It had an unearthly smooth acceleration that made me think of a witch’s broom. I rode my witch's broom home from Knoxville to New York City avoiding the interstate and stopped for lunch each day and ordered a BLT. I’m not a chef by any stretch, but I’m not a complete amateur when it comes to eating diner BLTs. I found this one particularly delicious. Not too salty. Not too much mayo. One half of the sandwich did have a slightly better ratio of bacon to the LT. I didn’t care. I ate some bacon and rectified the problem. The price point can’t be beat. Short wait. Super friendly staff. BLT FEVER!! CATCH IT!!
I’ve only had breakfast here but it’s so reliably delicious. Great flavors, quick service, and pretty comfortable if you want to sit and eat at one of their tables
Local Mouth watering delicious goodness. The best place for breakfast sandwich or lunch platter. Insanely flavorful and filling food, from probably the kindest person I have met in Brooklyn. Love this place, and if you go once you’ll want to go back… and bring 5 friends
10/10 PERIOD We use to order from Uber eats then decided to walk in ! OMG the service ! First of all the food is amazing ! I love every meal I’ve ever gotten from them! To receive amazing service after eating their amazing dishes sealed the deal for me. The variety is endless. The Trinidadian flag made me fall deeply in love !
Found Lite Bites on Google while looking for something away from all the overpriced cafes closer to Bedford Ave. We walked over around 8am and were warmly greeted by the woman taking orders. The place was already filling-up with customers. We placed our breakfast sandwich orders and sat down. Within five minutes or so the woman brought us our order. We both ordered the veggie omelet sandwich on English muffins. The sandwiches were delicious; they were freshly made and not overly greasy like most places make them. Price-wise it was very reasonable and overall a great experience - we'll be back soon!
Had Breakfast there four times in a row on our vacation to New York. Great omelet and coffee. Waiters are awesome! (The cook is just as awesome too). Got refill and service in minutes and always a smile. Great cooking an great service. I really recommend it.
Come here all the time for breakfast or lunch. This is a must try in the area. Great west-Indian/Trinidadian specialties plus great service. The people who run this place always hustle and work hard plus they are extremely polite and welcoming. It’s a plus that the food is great. Ask for the homemade pepper sauce!!
As a vegan, it’s hard to find real, good tasting and filling options at a good price, especially near the city. I go out of my way to come here for the veggie bakes and veggie roti. Curdy pumpkin and curry mango is so amazing. My favorite spot for Caribbean food for sure. And the owner had the brightest personality too. Absolutely love this spot.
Excellent establishment. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. One of my favorite things about this restaurant is that they have an incredibly diverse menu , from breakfast foods to bowls to wraps all the way to sandwiches. Always take a look at the menu as they are always introducing interesting seasonal and cultural dishes.
One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Everyone is always so friendly and the food is great! I love the Caribbean menu, especially the jerk chicken and the veggie roti. It's the best, Jerry, the best!
Cuter little diner vibe food joint. The food was great and came out in a reasonable manner. The service was great, they were very kind.
Excellent food and service. An employee brought our food to our table when we expected to have to get up. Prices are very fair as well.
Delicious breakfast sandwich, fresh squeezed juice, and house made hot sauce. Super kind staff!!
Food is always consistently good. Delivery is on time. Also, I called to try to get an extra added to my GrubHub order and the guy on the line figured it out for me even though grub hub wouldn’t let him add the order. Really cool staff 👍
I got there in the morning and they were running a tad off schedule but they were willing and happy to still serve me as they were getting ready for the day. I got there and hash-which and it was amazing! When they say spicy they mean it all the ingredients blended so well together just talking about it I fell like I can taste the sandwich again. I only went once cause I was in the area but if I’m around the area again I already know what I’m going for!
The lunch options at this restaurant are consistently delightful, showcasing rich flavors that elevate the dining experience. The service is quick, making it a convenient choice for a meal. Additionally, the cozy seating area provides an inviting atmosphere for those who prefer to enjoy their meal on-site.
Lite Bites is an overlooked Greenpoint gem! It's located on the epicenter of GP breakfast spots on Manhattan Ave & Norman Ave - and I'm telling you, this place is a slam dunk! The food is exceptional and the owners couldn't be nicer. I've tried a few of their lunch sandwiches - so far all of them are served on quality rolls/bread, all ingredients are fresh, and all the sandwiches are unique and creative (not your run of the mill menu). My breakfast go to is the Bacon Hashwich Sandwich - eggs, avocado, bacon and A HASHBROWN served on a brioche roll! Genius!!! My BF loves pancakes, which they also have many varieties of (including coconut ones) - these pictured here are the Fruitty Stack with the blueberries and strawberries folded in! This is also the spot for delicious Caribbean food (served M-F) with different daily options. I was able to sample the chicken roti...there are no words! Roti was buttery delicious, the chicken melted in my mouth - incredible! Show this place some love and support a longstanding local small business!
This is my breakfast spot almost every morning. Today I finally got lunch. When I tell you the FOOD tasted like it was straight from Trinidad. Omg, I had it all on my plate. I told the owner to put everything but meat. To have this Caribbean Spot in the middle of Greenpoint is amazing. It's right off of the backend of the G line. Never had a bad meal here. They have a variety of meats available, it's just that I'm not a meat love. They have jerk chicken, stew chicken, curry chicken, beef etc. They cook different things every day. They always have fried bake and saltfish or herring. Also alloo pie aka potato pie. They also serve American food. You can dine in order to go plus you can call in for delivery plus use the other foods apps available.
Is there a 6-star review option?! I am very impressed with this place. The dark-haired lady behind the counter may as well have been three people. Rarely do I see someone as good at their job as she is. Her ability to take orders, communicate with staff and organize dishes/coffee while also greeting half of the customers by their first names and personal questions blew me away. She is one of a kind. The cooks were fast, efficient and built my “Mediterranean Bowl” perfectly. The waitress was kind, sweet, warm and prompt - I wasn’t bothered and I also wasn’t ignored (the perfect balance). I just happened across Lite Bites while working in the neighborhood and practically stumbled in for lunch. Let’s just say it’s the best accidental decision I’ve made since I don’t know when! PLEASE visit these fine people and don’t forget to TIP WELL! They deserve it.
Layout/atmosphere *Luncheonette setup; few tables inside Service *Friendly Food/drink *Spanish Harlem (Ham, Turkey, Swiss cheese, pickle & dijon mustard on onion baguette) - Good *Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice - not a fan
Great find! Friendly staff, delicious burger selections and interesting wraps. Fresh o.j., lemonade, available for take out. Small space but clean and nicely decorated.
This place is a go to for me when I just want easy comfort food. A typical no frills diner with almost anything you could want, decent coffee, cheap prices and killer breakfast
The food here is very good and clean, do is the restaurant itself. The service is truly where this place shines. The service is ALWAYS fast, efficient and very very kind and accommodating. Love the people here. They also make a great cup of coffee.
Great Food but The only problem is Lite Bites is not consistent with following customer instructions. For example: customer request ketchup, they don't add ketchup or to Put napkins in the bag, no napkins.
Came in for lunch take out. I got the greek salad with chicken. Initial communication was great. My order was made in good time for being some what busy. Salad was delicious and filling. Only one complaint, that I wish there was more chicken in my salad. Overall it was great, I would recommend to everyone. I will be going back for the rest of the menu.
I appreciated this Hashwich. It's a big ol' SEC w/ hashbrown in it, so large that I needed a fork & knife. I also liked the genuinely spicy chipotle mayo. I also like Greenpoint for the sheer amount of joggers in sheer clothing. Must be a pain to run down Manhattan Avenue, though.
What Lite Bites lacks in atmosphere and presence, it makes up for in taste and efficiency. I got a croissant Hashwich, a sandwich consisting of eggs, pepper jack cheese, hashbrowns, and ham. The Eggs were well cooked, folded nicely and fit perfectly inside the vessel of the croissant. The ham was less the star of the show and more of a supporting role, and the saltiness paired nicely with the spiciness of the cheese. Ultimately, my favorite part was the unsung hero of the sandwich, the hashbrown. It was the perfect thing to soak up any grease, and was delightfully fluffy on the inside, despite having a nice crunch with every bite. I also liberally applied the hot sauce that they provided, which seemed to be a habanero based sauce. It went perfectly with the sandwich, and I used all of it that they provided. I also ordered a vegetarian egg wrap from off the menu, consisting of scrambled eggs, avocado, tomato, spinach and feta cheese. The staff were easily able to accommodate a custom order. The eggs were nice and fluffy, the vegetables were fresh, but the tortilla could've been crisper, as it started to fall apart as time went on. The habenero hot sauce was an amazing addition to the wrap as well. The only department that Lite Bites is lacking in is coffee. There was no menu for coffee, and no customization options. I asked if they had a coffee menu I was missing, but they informed me if I wanted a coffee I could get it hot, or iced, and that was it. On the plus side though, they did have a large refrigerator with a plethora of options for canned and bottled beverages, some of which I had never even seen before. They also had the rater rare Inca kola, which was delicious as always. Overall, I thought Lite Bites was a very pleasant for a quick breakfast, and their indoor dining tables and fast service made for an excellent fast breakfast for the busy day ahead of me.
Food is still great. Used to love this place, but they all but eliminated their seating. This used to be a great place for a quick and quiet breakfast.
The food there is excellent, the owner himself is amazing. Known him for over 15 yearsand he is amazing. But his staff has a lot to say. The girl on sundays with the huge eyebrows charges way more than she is supposed to. A grilled cheese sandwich on the menu is 5.50 and she charges 8.65 for it I don’t think that a slice a ham calls for $3.15 more. She doesn’t put knifes or forks and she never has the complete order. I order food for 7 people and was charged by Kevin $65 when she charges me the same thing for food for 4 people I don’t know what she does or if she charges the butter and stuff but she charges twice as more than the rest of the staff.
Definitely ill from the cajun chicken breakfast burrito special, it's the only thing I ate today and now I am not well. Please check on your food protocols.
Ridiculous wait time on pick up orders. Ordered several times 20 min. prior to pickup. Waited at least 10-15 more minutes on arrival. A simple gyro sandwich. They keep rising prices and food quality got worst over the years. I don't need apologies every time I order something, I just want a consistent, reasonably priced food without unreasonable wait time for a simple order. Coffee is bland. Lock of communication between front of the house and the kitchen or lock of management..... Not sure what is the reason for decline of this once popular restaurant but our family won't be ordering from Lite Bites any longer. Hope they can change their ways, especially since there is tremendous competition around the neighborhood and every customer counts.
My dining experience left much to be desired, particularly in regard to the advertised "messy" sandwich. Contrary to expectations, the sandwich lacked the promised chaos, featuring only a solitary piece of ham and bacon, with an inadequate portion of cheese. Given its $12 price tag, the portion of eggs, coupled with the scarce inclusion of meat and cheese, felt disproportionately underwhelming. The yogurt parfait provided a redeeming aspect, delivering a satisfying flavor profile. However, I would recommend exercising moderation in the sweetness department. While the parfait was enjoyable, the addition of honey, especially in the presence of already naturally sweet fruits, contributed to an overly sugary composition. A more balanced approach to sweetness would enhance the overall gastronomic experience.
Let me start by saying there may be a cultural aspect to this restaurant that my naivety missed, but I was not impressed with the taste of the food. I got the Curry Shrimp and Rice. And while you do get a healthy serving of food, the food itself didn’t have much taste to it. I had to add salt and pepper to give it a little flavor. Not to mention, there were tons of hard rice pieces in the rice. Not sure if it was overdone or old, but that too made for a less than desirable experience. I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because they were polite, and they have a robust menu. So maybe I just happen to order the wrong thing (although I asked for the most popular item). But I just don’t think I’d try it again.
$$ and not just one $. not cheap. the food is cheap classic super basic rice and beans, not worth $11.95. if it was cheaper ok, but dosent worth it. got get a burrito somewhere else, you'd be more happy.
Usually love this place for its good food and speedy delivery. Today is Sunday, so I expected a little bit more of a wait. But what I didnt expect was a phone call an hour and a half later that my food is ready. Great, didnt I order delivery? Oh, were so sorry! Now almost two hours later im eating a cold sandwich, supposed to be hot. Not sure ill be ordering from here as much anymore
The food was good. The only complain I have is that I ordered a berry heaven smoothie but what was my surprise when I got home and tried it, it was an ice smoothie! It tasted like ice cubes with a little berry flavor, terrible, I won’t order smoothies from here anymore.
This food is expensive and extremely water down , I’m from Trinidad and this is a disgrace. Curry shrimp and rice taste like rice soup with light curry flavor , absolutely terrible food .
No longer ordering food from this location I try to give it a chance this young rude Hispanic lady from the counter taking our food order always have a issue when I order a plain simple grill cheese with fries and a ice coffe for delivery first time she gives the wrong address and apt waited a hour and a half for something so simple!! when I clearly went over it three times !!! And second time she forgets my order and this time it’s my apt number when I call back she said it’s my fault like really ?!
The cashier was very nice. The manager was horrible. He verbally undressed the cashier publicly for not writing something down. He also was rude to me as a customer. The food did nit out weigh the horrible customer service by the manger. There are many cafe’s on Manhattan. Try the others.
This place has gone so downhill in service and the quality of food it is extremely disappointing! I work in the area and would go every morning for breakfast and sometimes order lunch. Now however, it is disgusting. A few times the meat form sandwhiches was undercooked and I had to throw it out, I got an oatmeal last month and it had clumps of long black hair in it! When I called all they said was bring it back, and when I did, they gave me only half of what I payed for it back. When you order delivery they rush you off the phone and always forget something. As my friend just ordered from there now not heeding my warning, they left out what he specified he wanted in his sandwhich and didn't even bring his coke!. I have moved to Manhatan dinner across the block, trust me! the food and most def the service you get, is much MUCH BETTER!
This company is not ran professionally at all! The people that work here are very rude and don’t care about there customers! The food I received was not fresh, and it was burnt. I asked for a refund and they have been giving me the run around, and every time I call they are so rude. I am very disappointed.
I was not provided cutlery for my omelet. A person should not have to request these items when ordering a platter! Oh and they don’t provide napkins either when you have to eat your food with your fingers after not getting cutlery. Will not be ordering here again. A customer should not have to ask for napkins and cutlery! They should have to tell you if you don’t want them. So ridiculous!
