Very good wait staff, who were friendly and helpful, even introducing me to a bottle of my new favorite, Blind Salamander Bhut Jolokia—that’s a hot sauce by the way! We really enjoyed the nachos and the stuffed jalapeños and my spicy burger was indeed spicy and the meat was cooked well.
We really enjoyed their new restaurant and bar areas at Tapatio Springs resort. We were there in 2016 prior to the fire. The all new clubhouse was top-notch with great views of the cours and hills. Both our bartender and waitress in the restaurant were exceptionally nice and helpful. The food and drinks were also really good. It was nice to see the updated facility, and I look forward to returning.
Our first time at La Cascada, and it was fabulous!! 😍 amazing outdoor patio to enjoy the beautiful nature around, very tasty food, and such lovely vibes. Super professionnel waitress ( Kennedy) who was very friendly and helpful, even introduced us to some activities we can do while visiting Boerne! We absolutely enjoyed the Pizza and the nachos. Great experience🙌 💯 recommended.
Beautiful atmosphere, fantastic service and amazing food.
Loved it. Service and atmosphere are the best.
Angelise is the best. Consistently good service.
Everything about this place is amazing!
Great food...superb service
This is my new favorite spot.
We had two great dinners and breakfast each day we stayed at Tapatio Springs resort.
Great burgers, great fries, great deep-fried mushrooms! Overlooking the golf course. Can't beat it.
Great service and food with a beautiful view. Usually don't like hotel food but this was really a great surprise.
Great food and drinks. Beautiful views of the golf course and the hill country.
Great dinner out on heated patio with live music.
Absolutely amazing bread pudding. So delicious I ordered some two nights in a row.
Chicken wings will blow your mind. Course is nice too!
Really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and great service! And of course the food!
Bar tends are knowledgeable and attentive. Great drinks.
Food is very good! Nice atmosphere! Good service.
The service, food, music and setting were perfect again (as usual).
Great birthday dinner with friends. Great food and atmosphere.
Food was delish and customer service excellent.
Great evening, food was yummy and the music was fabulous
Very good and served the food in a good time. Food also was good.
A really great experience. Wonderful food and atmosphere
Great atmosphere, good service, would make the trip again.
Great service, excellent food, stunning ambiance!
This place was so nice. The service was phenomenal and fast. We had chicken fried steak & the steak was so tender it basically melted in your mouth. The whipped potatoes and Mac & cheese were equally as delicious. Would definitely go back.
First time dining here and it was great. There were 5 of us celebrating my husband’s birthday. We weren’t rushed, the views were beautiful and the service was excellent.
This restaurant is on the property of a resort hotel, but it is open to the public. Their menu is a bit limited, but the choices are flavorful! My sister and I recommend Monday's steak night. We ate there all three nights we were at the resort. The entrees, the salads, and the desserts were delicious!
Enjoyed a great evening at Cascada. They have live music on the patio and the drinks are great! I highly recommend visiting. Britney is awesome! She made us feel like family.
Just had dinner with Cheyenne as our server and had a fantastic time!! Enjoyed the deviled eggs, baked pimento cheese, quail, and fried steak. All delicious and highly recommend for the great food and wonderful service!!
Beautiful views, excellent service and delicious food. We had the stuffed quail appetizer and the ancho chile chicken with fingerling potatoes and brussel sprouts and all was cooked perfectly and so yummy. I love that they offer local wine and beer also.
Drink: Rain Delay Food: Pizza. Brisket sandwich. We were not fans of the German chocolate cake.
Staff is fantastic and friendly. Live music every weekend. Great indoor and outdoor options. Large, covered patio with a wood burning fireplace always makes it nice to sit and enjoy live music by a fire.
Excellent locally sourced farm foods, great quality and taste. Price is unbeatable! If you book rooms via Groupon, you get a $20 daily dining credit which translates to "you can eat free daily."
The views were amazing and the live music and food were fantastic! Sat outside very romantic for an anniversary dinner
Was pleasantly surprised. Great food, the bar made a very good old fashioned! The service was fantastic!
I have lived in Tapatio Springs since 1999 and can say this place has great food, friendly staff, and amazing views. Keep up the great work!
The food was very good. There was a good variety to choose from the menu. Service was A+.
Cameron was amazing!!! He had a fun personality 👏 🤩 The food was incredible. I Apreciated the view as well. Gorgeous atmosphere!
We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Walter H., and I can’t say enough about how wonderful he was—especially with our children. Walter was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, but what stood out most was how naturally and compassionately he connected with our special needs son. He didn’t just provide great service—he made our entire family feel seen and valued. Walter went out of his way to engage with our son in a way that was both respectful and joyful, and it meant the world to us. Dining out can sometimes be stressful, but thanks to Walter, it was the opposite: relaxed, welcoming, and even fun. He’s a rare gem, and we’re so grateful for the experience he gave our family. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for Walter!
Tyra made our experience amazing!! Come for happy hour because at $5 a draft beer, that's cheaper than anywhere around. Tyra was so sweet and attentive. It was my birthday and made sure to make it memorable!!
La atención y la comida riquísima...
My family and I came here for breakfast over the weekend. We loved the atmosphere. We were waited on by Kymberly ( the manager) and her trainee Andrew. Both were very attentive to our family. I ordered the Avocado toast with the addition of the smoked salmon... it's probably the best I've honestly ever had. My kids both ordered the pancakes with bacon and scrambled eggs (they devoured their meals almost instantly). My husband ordered their brisket breakfast tacos... he's requesting we come out here more often for breakfast on the weekends. Overall this was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back.
Sat at the bar and had a wonderful experience. Service was 10/10 and my drinks were amazing . Both bar staff were very attentive and friendly. Macallie and Stephan both took great care of me and were constantly making sure I had everything I needed. Definitely recommend going to see those two and have them make you a cocktail. Great place with live music too
The club sandwich was the BEST club sandwich I’ve ever had! Cameron was my server and he gave 10/10 customer service. And don’t even get me started on the fries 🤤 DELICIOUS
Located in the Tapatio Springs Hotel and golf course. This is a solid restaurant and bar and made our 5-day stay at the facility very enjoyable. The food is good (we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here), and the staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed eating indoors along with on their patio. Their pizza is excellent! Would recommend to visit along with staying at the resort. We will be back.
The Hill Country views are more enticing than the food. The empanadas were the best part of the meal. Perfectly fried and flavorful. The fried chicken sandwich was over cooked and bland. The house burger was cooked correctly, but significantly under seasoned. Saving graces... besides the view... our server Tori was great. She was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Also, the bar can put out a good Old Fashioned, and is well stocked with liquor and beer options. I would recommend the empanadas and bourbon while watching the game... skip the entrees. Cheers!
Casual and very enjoyable.
The buffet was only $.50 more for the kids. The offerings were good, with lots of fresh fruit.
Burgers and pizza and similar are good. Would not recommend for steaks. Service was good.
We went specifically to hear the pianist playing on the patio. We were seated next to a roaring fire since it was chilly. Cocktails were mostly $10-12 with a few exceptions; some were more. Menu was a good size, nothing overwhelming. I just had a stuffed baked potato, hubby had the special, which was a sliced "hanger" steak served with a chimichurri sauce. Both were good. Creme Brulee was delicious. Service was excellent.
Fabulous server!! Food was good but overpriced. Very limited vegetarian options. Nice variety of gluten free and healthy options.
Friendly staff, wonderful food & drinks. We played a wonderful round of golf with food & drinks afterwards.
Overall it's good and priced reasonably. They need to work on the timing of courses coming to the table. The roasted oysters app is good. I did not think their version of Caesar salad is worth ordering again. We ordered the bone-in pork chop and got regular boneless pork chops. They were still pretty juicy but the waiters need to advise at the time of ordering if something will not be served as described on the menu.
The food was extremely yummy for Thanksgiving dinner. I only dropped it down 1 star because the beans and gravy were only luke warm but flavor was on point. Service was extremely polite and nice. Very clean and polished restaurant.
Tardaron mucho en atendernos aunque en realidad ya que lo hicieron son muy amables. El ribeye me encantó
The food is good enough, and the service is top-notch. The romantic views are what really sell this place. You really can't find a spot in this place that has a bad view. If you're looking for a romantic evening, and they seat you in the main dining area, ask them for a seat in the front room. The main dining area is only separated from the bar by a wall. It's not terrible, but it's quieter if you ask for the front room.
A little underwhelming. The environment is beautiful and the restaurant is gorgeous. The place deserves 5 stars in design but the service was extremely slow. We were there an hour longer than we wanted to be bc the server hardly checked on us. The food was also very mediocre for the price. Quality wasn’t great and the taste was super bland. The deviled eggs were the best thing we tried.
Overwhelmed. Slow with an awesome and friendly staff and average food.
Our first night at Tapatio Springs resort we had a reservation at La Cascada. Atmosphere is beautiful, staff was friendly, but food disappointed. Took forever and had several missteps. My 14 year old got surf and turf. Shrimp were still gray, undercooked. My mac and cheese side with filet mignon was barely above box quality and cold. The wife's blackened redfish was barely warm. They brought a new one that was really good. I understand a rushed kitchen and subtle mistakes, but for the price and expected quality, it just didn't stand up. I thought the $30 discount off the check and a free dessert was insufficient given the cost and expectation. Hoping next visit is much better.
Service was terrible on Saturday night. Ordered Surf and Turf.. it was ok but not worth $50... steak was small and overcooked..Surf was 4 small shrimps.Very disappointing. Band was great but had to quit because too loud?
We were a party of 4 for Christmas dinner. We had reservations for 4:30. We were greeted at the hostess stand and thanked the 4 people for working on Christmas day - we were very appreciative! We were handed lunch menus. When asked if we could have the dinner menu, we were told that dinner isn't served until 5:00. The little hostess that looks like one of the Bridgerton actors told us that the kitchen staff was still getting the dinner meal ready - things that make you go "huh?" At 5:00 we were handed the dinner menus. You know you're going to be in for a ride when the waitress starts the conversation with "we're out of a lot of things because of the crowds last night and today." According to our waitress, they had 90 people for lunch and they were "overwhelmed" because they were understaffed with 4 servers and now at dinner, they had 5 servers and they were running around like chickens. I think if this place is going to be touted as a "Resort Restaurant" then they should go the extra mile to make it feel like a "Resort Restaurant" experience. This place is somewhere you would go after a round of golf for a beer and a sandwich. The plates are small, the tables had no table clothes or even drink coasters so we were constantly wiping the condensation from the glasses with our napkins. They did have cloth napkins. We were also surprised that the wait staff were dressed no differently than if they were working @ Taco Bell. I think we were very underwhelmed and disappointed that this was our Christmas dinner choice. The food was OK as well but the presentation was very sloppy - severely lacking the small touches that give a meal pazazz. My prime rib was placed on top of scalloped potatoes and then smothered in au jus and that was topped with pencil asparagus - the plates were too small to accommodate and presentation was very unappealing. It's also not enjoyable when you have to keep sending the waitress back because the meal was served incomplete. It's even more unpleasant when you have to listen to the table behind you complain about the steaks being wrong and not receiving their wine until they were ready to leave - ect. I think that the kitchen manager and dining room manager need some additional training in the hospitality industry - there are way to many other options in Boerne and the surrounding area to settle for this - especially on Christmas day!
Great atmosphere but the restaurant really needs to step up the service & kitchen timing to align with the price. Came in for Mothers Days weekend - sat outside. Bad flies this time of year, the food was very slow to come out, and the live band was far too loud to have a conversation at the table. Not sure if I would recommend it again for a nice dinner with family, but the atmosphere is nice to enjoy the hill country.
This was our second time here. The nachos were delicious. The service was lacking. We reserved a table and started out with a good waitress. Her shift ended and the next waitress seemed annoyed to be there. After dinner we went outside on the patio to listen to the live music. Received absolutely no service out there, except for the security guard, he moved tables away to make room so that we could dance. That was very kind and something he didn't have to do. The one man band was great too!
Do not order the redfish. It's $32 and you will get a tail end piece of the filet that only has 2 bites of fish. I have actually never seen a smaller filet of fish in my life. I asked my waitress if this was the normal size and she said "yes".
I don't feel the food was as grand as they boast it to be. When I ordered my Chicken Fried Steak, it was presented to me on a plate with all the mashed potatoes and green beans tucked under the piece of meat and smothered with gravy. It was difficult to move the meat to get to the other items. Not a good presentation at all. Also, the meat was tough. For that kind of money, and I don't mind spending money on good food, it was very disappointing. They say to always give a restaurant two times to be able to judge their food fairly. I can't see even giving this place another try. There is also difficulty finding the restaurant. The signs are small and vague, leaving you looking at a sign for the Pro Shop but not the restaurant. Again, poor presentation. I was not impressed by this establishment at all. I was with a group of people and they were not impressed either. Take it for what it's worth.
I don’t know how you can ruin a hamburger but they did. Way overcooked. Dry. Requested medium. Cold fries. Took everything home for chicken food, maybe they’ll like it. Very pricy also. No one came by to check on us regarding our food. Can’t recommend you eat here.
The restaurant and atmosphere were gorgeous and I had really high hopes for this restaurant. We went on Valentine's Day which I realize was very busy for any restaurant. When I made the reservation I wasn't told there was a prix fixe menu that night. I had already picked out what I wanted ahead of time so that was sort of a letdown. We sat at our table almost immediately but we didn't see a waiter for about 15 minutes my husband ordered a drink that took about 20 minutes to arrive. We ordered our food at the time we ordered the drink and I hoped being a prix fixe menu the food service would be slightly faster. I was wrong. An hour after we arrived we were served our first course which was a few thin slices of beef that were covered in salt topped with arugula. I hoped the next course would be better so we waited 30 more minutes when I was served with a very warm salad that was probably sitting underneath a heat lamp for a bit. There was still our main course coming our way plus desert and at this point we had not seen a waiter in 20 minutes or so. We were beyond frustrated at this point and starving so we asked for the rest of our meal to go. We went home and had our dinner instead. The filet mignon and desert were delicious but I was extremely disappointed with everything else. The meal was not at all worth $75 per person. I know it was a busy night but they should have been prepared for that and if they couldn't keep up with servicing all the tables in a timely manner they could have offered to comp our drink at the very least. Sadly I don't think we will be giving this place another shot anytime in the near future.
Service and food is subpar. I got the surf and turf and asked for the filet to be cooked medium rare. My filet was rare, but on the edge of raw. I asked for them to cook it a little more. They gave me a new steak cooked rare/raw again. I asked them to cook that one a little more, insisting that they don't need to cook a whole new one. When I got the steak after 15 more mins of waiting, it was medium-well. In total I waited 20 more minutes than my friends for food. There also seemed to be some pettiness with wait staff. They seemed to not get along with eachother, with receipts being slammed on the table near the register when someone made a mistake on an order and then stormed into the kitchen while the other staff member follows trying to explain the situation. It's not great when you can notice the staff members don't get along. This experience is certainly not what I would have expected from such a beautiful hotel. Kind of ruins the outlook of hotel overall.
This was comically one of the worst service experiences we’ve ever had at a restaurant. We had a reservation for 2 at 8pm on the patio. Showed up at 7:57 and told it was a 10 minute wait. For a reservation? Okay weird but we’ll wait. 30 minutes go by and we watch 3 other 4 tops that came in after us sat before us. Hostess won’t acknowledge us, manager who sat aforementioned families says we’re next and never shows back up. Finally, enter Cameron. I tell him what’s happened and he makes it his personal mission to rectify this. Finds us a table inside (still the only person that will talk to us at this point) and sits us and says our server will be by shortly. 10 minutes go by and Cameron comes to check in on us. No, Cameron no one has stopped here. He then decides to take our table and serve us; inside mind you not on the patio. Once we receive our food and drinks (in a relatively normal amount of time thanks to Cameron and only Cameron) we watch the manager visit every single table except for ours. By this time, Cameron has apologized profusely and we joked that we felt like ghosts and the only person that could see us was Cameron. The food was decent enough but wildly overpriced for what it was. Shout out to Cameron for salvaging the evening but as far as the manager, hostess, and any other servers pretending not to see us for the entire 1.5 hours we were there, y’all suck.
The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful and welcoming. Food was mediocre and service was disappointing. It was clear that patrons without children and ordering alcohol were given preferential treatment. We waited 20 minutes at our table without any contact from our server or anyone else and had to seek out the hostess for water after about 15 minutes of waiting. It wasn’t busy in the restaurant as there were only 2-3 other tables filled in our section and several open tables in the other areas. The patrons who arrived about 25-30 minutes after our family were served quickly and their food arrived before ours did, despite placing our order much earlier. The children’s meals and portion sizes were surprisingly good and flavored better than the adult entrees. I had high hopes for the Brisket Mac n’ Cheese entree, but it was bland and chewy, tasting nothing like brisket. The pasta portion size was more appropriate to a side dish or a lunch portion versus a dinner entree with no sides. For a special occasion holiday meal out at a “resort” with resort menu prices, I expected better than Denny’s.
My wife and I love to "check out" places to eat breakfast, and we finally got to La Cascada. Pros and cons, read on. The grounds are beautiful. La Cascada is in the middle of a gorgeous, immaculately manicured country club and resort. The golf club costs $5000 to join and $500 a month. The restaurant is nice and shiny-clean, but there's really no ambience; just tables and chairs and a few booths. We drove around almost half an hour trying to find it; it's in the same building as the golf Pro Shop; there's NO sign of any kind anywhere. I had to stop, park and go into the golf shop to ask where it was. "Oh, it's right down the hall, sir!" The food was, frankly, bleah. I got the omelet, with potatoes and a biscuit. No biscuits on the menu; I had to ask for it. I found out later that they have gravy for the biscuits, also not on the menu. Good grief, this is TEXAS, people!!! But... I'm doubtful that they know how to make good gravy, anyway.... The first thing I noticed was that everything was BARELY warm, just about room temperature. I just love a room-temperature omelet on a freezing cold morning..... The main feature, the omelet itself, was a major disappointment. I ordered it with cheese, sausage and onion. It was a slab of scrambled egg about 3X6 inches and 2 inches thick, with maybe a spoonful of tasteless filling. It was, for all purposes, just a big slab of egg. The potatoes were the small type, cut into quarters. They were very good. The biscuit was dry, crumbly and almost cold. And again, everything was just barely room temperature. Our waitress was very nice. The coffee was excellent. There's really no point in going back.
Not what they say it is! It was bad enough that I Ordered the Wagyu beef sandwich and the brioche was old and dry, (fresh brioche is a marvel of nature) ... but Front and center on the website, they say "Locally sourced ingredients from Texas farms and ranches". My server, nice enough, knew nothing about anything locally sourced and the menu mentioned nothing about it. Except for the ambience, this was kind of a total waste of time for me since I wanted quality food and did not receive it and the staff didn't even seem to know about it if they had it.
We were ready to celebrate Mother’s Day at a unique location and the restaurant certainly fit the bill in that area! What a gorgeous part of Texas! We arrived at the restaurant and went to the front desk and were immediately seated. So far so good! Sadly we waited over 15 minutes for our waitress to even arrive at our table and take our drink and app orders. She was so very nice and friendly but….The restaurant was not full and initially we were understanding since there appeared to be a wedding at the same time. However, from the moment we ordered drinks and apps until the time we left we waited too long for everything. I’m still not sure what took so long for our orders. We arrived at 7:25 and finally got our entrees at 8:30. That was just too long no matter what else was going on. We were the last customers left in the restaurant. Probably the absolute worst part was that everyone’s food, all 6 main entrees, arrived cold. That’s inexcusable. Sincerely hoping this was a one off since we would love to try this place again. So disappointed in the poor service and the cold food. It’s difficult to give a thorough review on the food since it was cold. We tried to have a sense of humor and say “this would probably be good warm”! We would have loved to stay for dessert but after we had waited an hour for our entrees we were done. Sad story 🥹
I have really tried to like La Cascada. And, I really hate writing negative reviews. But this one had to be written. The atmosphere and the service is really amazing. But sadly, the food does not even come close to that standard. And, we recently were told by a leader of a church group from Boerne that came out to enjoy a dinner than they too thought the food fell way below expectations. They told me they were never coming back. On one visit with our kids and grandkids, the pizza crust was not cooked through and was still soft dough. We had to send it back. On another visit the macaroni and cheese tasted worse than what is offered via fast food. And on top of that there was no taste. The mesquite smoked chicken was so tough and had no flavor had it not been for the mediocre fire/bbq sauce. You can get the same tasting burger for 1/2 the cost at Chili’s. The only thing that we have enjoyed is the pork chop. Again, I hate offering negative reviews but after four visits to La Cascada and trying hard to enjoy it, I just could not pass on offering this review for those interested. Visit for the drinks and atmosphere. But you will be taking your chances with their food.
Nice resturant with nice views. Staff is friendly. Food is average. You can get same or better quality at Cracker Barrel. Expect to over pay for average food. But you are paying for the views here. Which make it worth the trip out. Definitely will come back for the view or to play the golf course but probablynot for the food. Only reason I gave 1 star is because the raiting system isn't equal to this resturants deliverance. This is 3 star quality food but 4 star view.
I should walk away as soon as the hostess with the blond ponytail acted rude with me, but I was hungry and I though I would focus on a good view and hopefully good food and service. The view was ok, but the service was slow and inattentive, and the food was inedible - unevenly cooked and with a very strange aftertaste. The menu was dirty with greasy stains and crayons marks which made me feel disgusted. My appetizer came after I received my main course. I’ve noticed that every table had one issue with their orders or another. Lots of dirty tables were sitting unclean for a while. Some tables were missing salt and pepper. I’ve never was offered a refill on the drinks. Not a good place to call itself a restaurants
Place is not as great as it looks. No brunch. Food looks like it's heat and serve. Do not recommend.
The worst brunch …Cheap food for the price
Staff seemed distracted. Every other table was having issues. My ribeye was a chewy mess. The fried egg in the appetizer was almost inedible rubber. My wife’s shrimp weren’t deveined. The waitress was very slow in bringing drinks to our friend and I but inexplicably brought my wife a second round that she didn’t even order. I’ve probably forgotten some things because it has been a month since we went but yeah. Just bad and extremely expensive to boot.
The food was ok, no great for a 30-50$ plate. My husband ordered a steak (it was very under cook for what he asked for) I ordered fish, and it had no flavor. The service is EXTREMELY slow, they need more personnel or something, but be aware you will wait a lot for your food...we were staying at the resort, so we tried breakfast, lunch and dinner here. The second night, we wanted to eat some appetizers and drinks, and we couldn't get sit. The lady in the reception told me I could sit anywhere outside and a waiter will come to help me, after sitting there for a couple minutes (nobody is coming to say anything) my husband went to ask again and she said that table was reserved. Ok, we were hungry, and there was nothing close by, so she said she could find us a table at 815pm. The time came, and they didn't sit us in either. Very disappointing experience. It is expensive so they should have good food and good service.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We had reservations for lunch on a Saturday at Noon, nothing crazy. We were looking to celebrate some accomplishments with a romantic lunch. They were not busy at all and only had 5 others tables populated at the time. After we were seated, we sat there for over 25 minutes and we were not even acknowledged. The server for the table next to us looked directly at us 4 times and never said a word, just ignored us. We were not offered water, or even greeted with a “we’ll be right with you.” After being “shunned,” as we felt, for almost a half an hour, we left and enjoyed our special, romantic lunch elsewhere. We informed all of our friends our experience and several have had similar experiences there. Not sure we will ever chance going back.
EXTREMELY underwhelming. Avoid by all costs. Charging upscale steakhouse prices for beyond subpar mediocre food. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Where do I start … the facade screams luxury yet the service and food is below average. Our server seemed like he had a long hard life, not rude just annoyed, not friendly, borderline despondent. The food presentation and plates were something I’d expect at a low-end cafeteria. Cheddars would be a step above to be very frank. The price for what you get is what was disappointing and even aggravating. I will NEVER come back, save your money and go elsewhere … Cheddars is a better option than “La Cascada” and That’s saying a lot since Cheddars in my opinion is the bottom of the barrel.
I’m very disappointed with the experience my family had at La Cascada Table and Bar on Thanksgiving. I called around 12:30 PM to make a reservation for four (two adults and two children, ages 6 and 3). The hostess, Camila, clearly told me that the last seating for the Thanksgiving buffet was at 3:30 PM and the price was $42 per adult and $25 per child. We even called again on the way to let them know we were running about 15 minutes late, and she said it was no problem. When we arrived, Camila seated us, but no server came for about 15 minutes. I approached the hostess again, and she apologized and said the server would be right over, and that we could go ahead and get plates from the buffet. By the time we went, they were already cleaning up the buffet, so our kids only grabbed a small plate of fruit, and my husband and I got a single plate of turkey. Our server, Cameron, finally came to take our drink orders. We enjoyed the outdoor area while the kids played, but the real surprise came when the check arrived: $75 per adult and $30 per child. This was almost double what I had been told on the phone—twice, by the same hostess. When I questioned the price, the Food & Beverage Manager, Nina Guajardo, came over. Instead of showing understanding, she told me that the prices I was quoted were for dinner at 5 PM. When I explained that the hostess had specifically told me the lower price for the 3:30 seating, her response was: “I haven’t asked her, since she is just a hostess.” That comment alone showed a clear lack of respect and professionalism. The hostess is the one who answers calls, greets guests, and creates the first and last impression of the restaurant. If she is “just a hostess,” as the manager said, then the issue is a lack of training and leadership, not the staff member. Despite the misinformation, the limited buffet, and the long wait for service, the manager refused to honor the quoted price and offered only a 20% discount “for the inconvenience.” She also gave me her business card and suggested I email her—after we had already spoken in person and the issue had been poorly handled. Overall, this experience showed poor communication, lack of accountability, and unprofessional management. The views outside were beautiful, but unfortunately the service and management made this a disappointing holiday experience for our family.
