Very nice atmosphere and good food. Waitress was super nice and everything came out fast. My daughter had the burger and it was a nice size from the kids menu. I had the althenian chicken and my bf had the salmon. He didnt have any complaints and neither do I. The portions were plenty, I had leftovers for lunch the next day lol
The hostess is phenomenal. She makes the dining experience very enjoyable. The food is good and the atmosphere is casual and relaxing. It overlooks Old York Rd in Jenkintown. The decor, staff and good food make this a great place to eat and drink any time of the day. And they have BEEF BACON!
Great happy hour, food, music and a place to connect with friends or family. The space is open and has several sides to seat inside or out to pick from. AWESOME place to have a celebration of any kind.
Thanks for making this Extra Special for MiniMe! He enjoyed his time there. We will be back. Good food and awesome atmosphere. Jerry was an awesome server! You The Man!
I love their wings and their turkey club
Today was the 1st time I've eaten here. My breakfast was good, the gentleman who was our server was very personable. My food came in a timely manner, oh..the coffee was quite yummy, I love coffee! This place was clean and roomy. I'll definitely go again
I had a hard long day and last night I went here to get something to eat , The service was So Good they put a smile on my face and Liz my server is Awesome!!! so well spoken and very helpful. Thank You and Also I had fish and chips but try the burgers they are to die for Bourbon sauce and Portobello mushrooms on it . You will enjoy this Restaurant
We had a very last minute need for a family gathering. The restaurant worked with our needs and provided us with a luncheon that was just wonderful. We used the private room on the first floor and it was perfect for our needs. The service was just amazing. The food was fantastic. Everything was handled very professionally.
Been going here for years always loved the food. Threw a party a few months back and it came out so great! There is a nice private room off to the side, and the prices are reasonable at a per person rate, and the food way better than I was expecting for the price. And everyone was so nice, would love to throw another party here.
I love this place! The manager always takes good care of my fiance and me and I love that she remembers us every time. We live in this community and enjoy being able to go somewhere familiar to kick back, dine and hang out. Make sure you check it out!
I've never been so full from eating breakfast! The items on the menu were so tantalizing that it was difficult to choose just one to eat; luckily for me I always order the same thing for breakfast: 2 eggs over medium, scrapple home fries (or their equivalent) and toast. I almost chose something different here, though, for all the vibrant options. They were some of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had, and everything else was delicious--upscale greasy spoon. Nice!
We absolutely loved our lunch time visit here. I rarely order something simple as a soup and salad but it was a great choice. I'd take half a star because I didn't like they did not have a french type dressing but it was a wonderful garden salad I took home for later. My wife got the pizza and I was completely wow'ed by how much flavor it had. I will be visiting more often to try their breakfast and dinner options.
I enjoyed myself, especially for a first time, the atmosphere was good, and the restroom was really nice and smelled wonderful, it was a little dark in there, I was waiting for the floor to light up, but it didn't.😄 The chicken & shrimp risotto was delicious, this was also a first time trying risotto, I'm a fan!!! There were about 14 women in our group, I forgot the waitress' name, she was great, we all dined sufficiently. Everyone said they would come again.
Had breakfast this morning and waitress was very polite. Serving sizes were huge. Pancakes we're the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They were very moist. When they first came with the small container of syrup I thought for sure I would have to ask for more syrup since pancakes tend to be dry at most restaurants but not here. I had the the original and barely finished.
We've been customers for almost a decade and absolutely love it here! Outdoor seating, great location, amazing ambiance and there's an atmosphere for everyone... they've been consistent in the delicious entrees, customer service, professionalism and we even have our favorite server, Liz! She's the best ever! She makes sure we are okay at a perfect pace, she makes us feel at home the moment we walk in, we highly recommend to all! 👏❤👌
I was having work done on my car down the street and I hadn’t eaten yet so I walked down to the Kitchen Bar for breakfast. The hostess was sweet, the food was delicious and the server was attentive. My food came out in about 10 minutes, no exaggeration. It was early on a Saturday morning and not crowded, but not empty. It was an enjoyable experience. I’ll be back soon to try lunch and dinner.
Beautiful restaurant with bar and cozy interior. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We came here after church with a large party of 20+ people. All of the staff was attentive and very helpful. I will definitely return. Came here again on 7/3/18 to watch the England vs. Colombia World Cup match. Many people were here having lunch and dining in. I ordered at the bar had Caesar salad and wings. Both were great and tasty. The wings were seasoned and cooked right. Bar manager Jodi was very pleasant and helpful although she was very busy and had many tasks to accommodate. She was great.
amazing service, awesome food at great prices...staff is really good including the manager...i can say it was a very good experience.
Steak was subpar but that’s what I expected since it’s not a steak house. Crab cake was delicious. Service was great and everyone was very friendly, the facilities were also very clean.
Had a nice lunch today. Food delicious and service was a little slow but good.
Drinks were good. Service ok. My egg rolls crunchy on top but soggy on bottom a little oily. Sweet potato fries were good and portion size large enough for 2.
The bar and cocktails is the real draw here. A good team of experienced service staff tends to make some of the lesser experienced workers look bad. If you get a great server, you're in for a really good time. If you get a newer person, they seem to have problems handling the sheer volume of the customers that come in. The menu is creative without going overboard and the bartenders do not skimp on the drinks. It's a good value and a good time. A staple in that neighborhood since it was called Alexander's.
Just stopped in for an impromptu happy hour and was most pleasantly surprised at the welcoming atmosphere. The bar and wait staff are like a close knit family. The appetizers were great, the glasses were clean and the visual esthetic is amazing. Say hello to Danika at the bar and try the sauteed shrimp in marinara with feta!
Stopped by on Sunday afternoon. There was a line, but I was able to sit in the bar area with no wait. Waitress was friendly and made a good recommendation. Appetizer was good, burger was ok, not great. The service was efficient, maybe slightly overpriced, but I would return to try something different.
Went for a late night meal with friends, and was pleasantly surprised. I guess it was oldies night bc that's what the DJ was playing. Venue wasn't bad-- Bar side and restaurant side (booths and chairs). Service was good. We were given bread while our food was prepared. I got steak and a crab cake that came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was tender and juicy inside, yet had a great, crispy sear on the outside. The crab cake had no fillers and a nice flavor. I wished they'd given more mashed potatoes--I love potatoes-- and that they were thicker, like smashed potatoes. These were smooth and fluffy, however, if that's your preference. They gave us plenty of seasoned broccoli; half a head I'm sure. I stuck with an Arnold Palmer for the night. Prices were good. Decent experience.
I stopped in with a group of 8 that included two 4 year olds and an 8 year old. Our server did a great job. Our meals came out at the same time and the food was hot. The restaurant was clean and the food was tasty. The portions were generous and the price was right.
I met a girlfriend here this morning for some breakfast and although I was disappointed in my food, our server was the best. I had the French toast with bananas and my crust was burnt to the point I couldn’t cut it, I could only eat the middle. ( which is why I took off a star) We were on a time restraint otherwise I would have ordered another one. Eddie, our server was so wonderful though. He was so attentive and friendly, which was so refreshing! I would come back just to talk to him to be honest. He is the best. Kitchen bar -you are lucky to have such a great employee!!
Some of the food was excellent, very few items were not up to our preference/standards. Even still, great food but OMG the wait staff was so below standard that day I had to go get some forgotten glasses of water for the table. We tried signalling but eventually I just got up and walked to the service station and got the water myself. I can only hope that was their very rare off day but I live 6+ hours away so I only know them from that one visit. A second one is debatable.
This is a rating for the lunch service/food. Went in with my girlfriend and sat out on the patio. It was very nicely set up. (Strangely enough we didn’t mind over looking dirty 611) We both ordered very simple meals along with an original appetizer. To start, we split the cheese steak spring rolls. They were excellent! She ordered a salad and I got the fish and chips. Now, in my opinion, these are to relatively easy meals to cook. The food came out PERFECT. The fish was fried to perfection where the outside layer was perfectly crisp and crunchy and the inside was moist and flakey. My girlfriend usually doesn’t finish what she orders but she loved the salad so much that there was nothing left. The portion sizes are very big as well so come hungry. My only reason for liking and not loving it, was because for lunch, it was a bit too expensive. I guess I paid for what I got because the food, service, and atmosphere were great! I only hope that they uphold these standards for a dinner time meal.
Delicious food. Atmosphere is nice but a bit noisy due to the openness of the seating areas. Get the low carbon Burger or crab Benedict. Both are superb. Service was very good but just a little slow. Will definitely go back.
I've had the pleasure of patronizing this establishment prior to my visit. So I already had an expectation going in. I will say, I wasn't disappointed. Sadly, I am unable to remember the name of the server. It was a younger gentleman. He was very kind and attentive. I had 2 young children with me and he was very observant of them and the table. The need to find the waiter was eliminated due to that. Once the food order was placed, there was not an extensive wait. Always a plus. Especially when your out on St. Patty's weekend. Food came out hot and the table was not disappointed. I will be a repeat patron.
The bartender who was also our server was great. He had an Excellent demeanor and gave great service. The food was good. The only thing was the attitude that was clear the hostess had when we asked to be seated in the bar area instead of the main dinning room. We almost left due to the clear negativity the hostess had displayed but I'm glad we didn't.
I had the crab stuffed tilapia special and it was delicious. The roasted red pepper hummus is absolutely amazing. Best Arnold Palmer I ever had, too. The reason for the four stars is because I wasn't too into the atmosphere. I didn't find it to be very comfortable or inviting. It was the food that stood out. EDIT: A year later, and I will tell you DON'T ORDER THE ARNOLD PALMER. They've destroyed it. I don't know what the heck they're thinking when they make them. I believe I was served already sweetened tea with added pink lemonade powder. It was undrinkable. They've gone from having the best Arnold Palmer to the absolute worst I've ever had. And I'll mention that the staff was incredibly rude. I'm not sure what happened to this place, but I've edited my stars and review to reflect my most recent experience. EDIT #2: I added a star for the quick, thoughtful response from the owner. I'll be giving them another try.
Food was ok, not great, not bad. Service was compromised due to the limited number wait staff vs. number of tables. Service was definitely poor but the waiter tried his hardest to keep up. I don't fault the waiter. He was great.
The food was good. However, the manager was rude. I am not going back there because of false advertisement. They lied and said children eat free on Sundays after 2pm meaning that they eat free after 2pm on Sundays but they didn't tell me that an adult have to eat with them. Also the waiter was walking around my family and I when we were eating. That was so annoying. I am not coming back there.😠😠😠😠😠😡 This happened 2 months ago. I am so late for putting this up.
Went here for an after funeral lunch...reserved for 25 with a buffet. They sat our group in the side patio which is all glass on one side. The sun was intense and it was 90 outside. The temp in the room was 80 and very uncomfortable. There was space in the restaurant for our group. I would never plan a gathering there again as my guests were complaining of the heat. Food and waitress service was very good.
It was a nice place. Very cute atmosphere and the prices are reasonable. They have something for everyone along with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Only downside was that our waitress was a little slow to keep checking on us and it was at a slow period of the day. I would go back again.
My first and last visit. After being seated, it took 15 minutes to be acknowleged that we were there. They were trying to figure out who our server was. Another 15 minutes was added to our wait, for burgers and fries. Mind you, there were 10+ empty tables. Maybe it was a shift change, I don't know. The one saving grace was our server, Brii. She was polite and attentive. She is to be commended.
Looks promising, but the glasses were dirty and the salmon was VERY fishy. Bar tender was nice enough to comp the salmon I only took one bite of. She was very kind and provided great customer service. Bathroom is not very clean. Will not be returning.
First time customer. The waitress was courteous and professional but due to a problem in the Kitchen we received our food well after a 40 min wait. It was longer, but I looked at my watch to note the time after the wait was a bit out of the norm for a restaurant. Patrons seated after us were done eating and leaving before we were served. I don't expect things to always go perfect, but when something this egregious happens I would expect management to do more then offer a refill of coffee and an apology. I appreciated those gestures, but I prefer to spend my hard earned cash at places that want to earn my repeat business. They fell short. The decor and atmosphere is nice and everyone was friendly.
My parents and I went to the Kitchen Bar last night for the first time. I had looked at their website as I do most of the time before visiting a restaurant for the first time. The website was very appealing and mentioned that their chefs were the best and the food was fresh and gourmet, and their menu had a great flair, so I got a little excited. When we arrived, it was a full parking lot, too small in my opinion. We hadn't made a reservation and had about a 10-15 minute wait for a table, which wasn't bad for a Saturday night. The restaurant was crowded and very appealing the way the bar area and rest of the restaurant was decorated. Upon being seated, we must have waited about another 10 minutes before a waiter came by to take our drink and food orders. We weren't even given water for about 10 minutes after we were seated, which I thought was a little odd. The menu was very limited in my opinion, nothing over the top, just the stuff that most restaurants in the area offer. When we ordered, our waiter didn't write our order down, which I felt was a mistake, he then repeated our order back to us, which was good. When we got our food, after waiting like what felt like a really long time, they made a mistake on my mom's order. They gave her mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries as side dishes instead of the asparagus she ordered. They did bring the asparagus right out after we said something. A lot of the menu items were over priced. I ordered the steamed mussels with an onion pesto sauce, which was good with a side of mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes tasted stale and not homemade. The cocktails looked really good, but unfortunately I was driving that night so I didn't get a chance to try any of them. In my opinion, way over priced, the food was just so-so and the service is terrible.
Update: Now Rate it a 1. Would use a zero if it was available. Recommend you avoid Kitchen and instead go to The Drake down the street. It has a similar menu and prices. Kitchen Pub charged $0.75 for a second container of cream cheese on a $30 bill. See photo. That's the most expensive $0.75 Kitchen ever made. Won't be returning. Used to rate the place 3 stars b/c it was not a bad little place. Fairly priced and I love the decor.
Horrible time. We were there for mother's day. We got served the wrong salad twice. My steak was over done and my mother's was almost too tough to eat. The stuffed shrimp was very salty and the shrimp was bland with an ice cream size lump of crab meat on it. My son's dinner didn't arrive until we got the check. We will not be back.
Just ok. I ordered the sampler to get a little of everything. The wings were hard and the bourbon wings sauce was not good and the other wings were kind of rubbery. The coconut shrimp was sawgy and kind of damp and crispy a little only from the coconut. The dipping sauces seem not to go well with the food they were all to sweet and did not taste good at all. Did not provide any napkins, had to keep asking for them because we were eating finger foods and our hands was always messy.
The worst service ever. The manager asked how our party was doing. I didn’t complain, she asked… I told her that I ordered my entrée an hour before they had no record of it, we were there for a holiday party. I was never served and they offered to bag it up and let me take it home. 35 minutes wait for a glass of wine, it’s a little ridiculous, the manager quoted me as having requested that waiter I have never requested him, nor did I know him. Jerry is ill equipped for dinner service.
I'll not be back. The food was nowhere near as good as it once was and the service...The service was a joke. Apparently the grilled cheese I ordered for my munchkin was the straw that broke the kitchen's back so they sent out entrees before our soup and never brought the grilled cheese. Seems like the kitchen has a bad staff as well as the dining room. Stay away if you actually want a nice dinner.
We are just leaving the Kitchen Bar on Valentine’s Day, I’m not sure if there is new management but th solace looks like a diner now. The food sucks and the service is even worse! We arrived at 7pm and did have a server come and even ask us what we wanted to drink. 15 minutes later we got water, I had to basically grab the waiter before he ran off so I could give him our drink order. We ordered our food and sat for 45minutes for it to arrive. I forgot to mention that we had our 2 small children with us and they ordered fries and a salad! My husband ordered an appetizer and I ordered the bourbon Salmon. Well when the food finally came out... he handed me chicken! I’m like that’s not Salmon. He said oh I thought you said chicken. Needless to say I didn’t want it and he told me that it was going to take more time to make the salmon. I said cancel it then and bring us our bill. He insisted on putting the order in. 15 minutes later we had the salmon, that I took to go and he gave us free dessert to take home for our kids. Got the bill and it was not adjusted WORST EXPERIENCE. The kitchen bar used to be a really nice place to go with great food and service, now it’s like going to laminated menu diner.
We were a party of four… I can honestly say that none of us had a good experience here. I should have listen to some of the reviews, but I kept thinking really… How bad can it be? The food was nothing special… But two of our dishes were well over cooked. There was definitely not enough help on hand. We waited way too long between visits from our server and we could overhear guess at nearby table who also had the same kinds of complaint. None of us plans to return here. There are a lot of eating establishments around this location… Almost any other one of them would probably be a better choice for your hard earned money.
One star, I wish I would've read the reviews before coming. The waiter was friendly and recommended a few different dishes. I went with the Encrusted Tilapia, which was awful. The potatoes on top tasted as if they were freezer burnt and the fish like it was microwaved. Ate the veggies under and returned the dish. My company had the cheese steak, which wasn't bad. The grilled cheese we ordered was cold. They offered to pay for dessert which I declined and then gave me a $5 coupon which I gave to another customer since I wont be going back. My fish was about $19, $19 for veggies. Wouldn't recommend this place, better off going to a chain place.
SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND OWNER COULDN'T CARE LESS, The waiter was very nice and attentive however not properly trained. We arrived 50 minutes before an appointment in the neighborhood. We ordered and specifically told the waiter we had to leave at a specific time to make our appointment. He assured us the food would be ready well in advance of when we needed to depart. The food arrived 4 minutes before we had to depart (some 25 minutes after it was ordered). We were forced to take most of the food home. The waiter lacked training in timing and the whole while assured us several times over 20 minutes that "the food is coming soon". Most disappointing was the response I got from the owner who pretty much replied with an empty shallow "I'm sorry". Don't be fooled by the pretty inside and good location (which is probably how they stay in business).
