Nate's Seafood & Steakhouse Addison Reviews
Our server Ace, was a superstar! Super fun. Super friendly. Simply unforgettable! We kicked off my wife’s birthday celebration here and this was a great start to her countdown to 65!!! Our food was delicious and price wasn’t bad considering seafood prices of today. Definitely a do-over for us!
Had an excellent server. The food was really good. The best clam strips I have ever had. Sweet potato fries were really good too!
Actually food was good ,but it was difficult to find something I liked ,it's not what I thought actually probably won't go again .The parking guy is a little much for a small lot .it was an actual turn off for someone to have to park my truck .But I did tip him well.. again not my thing
Worth the long wait so be prepared. We had the blackened Mahi Mahi with scallops and spinach along with 1/2 grilled 1/2 blackened crab fingers. The Mahi Mahi had the most amazing sauce and was perfectly cooked. They give you butter bread and hushpuppies which were fantastic. We'll definitely be back. Good options for those who eat low-carb.
It’s one of the greatest dine out experience!! Our server is very entertaining and very detailed explanations of all the dishes on the menu, he even provides very professional recommendations on your choices. The food was great, I love my Gumbo, it’s my first time having it, it’s delicious!! It made it an excellent meal dinning in here because of the atmosphere and the food, these 2 components have to work together in order to make it perfect!!
My family/friends went for the first time and it was amazing. Tyrone was an amazing waiter and John checked in on us as well and gave us a little history about Nate’s. The food was amazing! The hush puppies and bread that they give is chef’s kiss! My cousin and I got the stuffed flounder and it was delicious! My other cousins and friend got pasta & they enjoyed it! Really great experience, we will be back!
Update as of May 1st, 2024: This crawfish season has been quite unpredictable. As a loyal customer for over 12 years, it's disappointing to experience inconsistencies. The issue doesn't lie with the crawfish quality but rather with overcooking, incorrect orders, and missing items. Additionally, my husband noted that the crawfish platter lacked flavor and even the bare minimum of salt. ———— Have been coming here for years. They have the best crawfish around and it’s brought in daily. Severs are very hospitable and attentive! Make sure you follow them on Facebook for all of their daily specials! I love this place and you will too if you try it!
4/13/19- Have been eating at Nate's for multiple years and the food has always been Great !!!!!! Never left hungry, and have left with a doggie bag several times..... Myself, my wife, and her friend dined at Nate's on this day.... The place was packed but we got a table quickly.....I normally eat boiled crawfish there and today was no exception.....My wife ordered Shrimp and Raw Oysters, myself and her friend teamed up to tackle The Bourbon Street- a platter of 7 lbs of boiled crawfish, a dozen shrimp, 2 lbs of snow crab, sausage, potatoes, corn, with sauce and clarified butter- had to ask for that...Also ordered some turbo charged seasoning on the side which they normally use to spice your boiled crawfish up......... I also upgraded from snow crab to king crab legs.......While you wait they serve you complimentary hushpuppies and mini loaf of garlic bread which is delicious by itself and even better for dipping in the stock from the boiled crawfish......Our platter arrived hot and ready to devour......It did not disappoint !!!!!!! Was wonderful !!!!!!! Wife thoroughly enjoyed her shrimp and oysters......Wound up taking some home as we were full before we finished the platter.......The Bourbon street ran approximately $125.00 which to me seemed to be a fair price for all we received......... Our server Blake was very good and nice even with the stress of a full house......I have always had great food at Nate's including other dishes on the menu but mainly crawfish.......If you get a chance to say hello to Nate do so, he is a cool guy with a cajun accent and he circulates around the restaurant talking with the patrons from time to time... I definitely recommend Nate's for your Cajun Seafood cravings !!!!! 4/3/23- My friend and I went to Nate's at about 2:00 pm for lunch/dinner..... We are both old customers at Nate's. Our server was Kevin and he was outstanding !!!!!! He was friendly and helpful, kept checking on us throughout our visit..... Nate's is fortunate to have servers like him !!!!!!!! We initially order some cold boiled shrimp which were outstanding (see photo) !!!!! He also brought out some garlic bread and hushpuppies which are very good !!!!!!! I like to use the garlic bread also for dipping in the stock from the crawfish, it is outstanding !!!!!!! The cocktail sauce that comes with the shrimp is very good and not overpowering with horseradish...... I ordered 5 lbs of crawfish turbocharged (extra spicy)( see photo).... They arrived fresh and hot and well seasoned. The sizes were of the crawfish were excellent and they were wonderful !!!!!!! My friend ordered a bowl of seafood gumbo (see photo) and crawfish etouffee to eat later.... Both were very delicious per her taste buds !!!!!!! For beverages we had iced tea unsweetened which was good also. We both left with full, satisfied stomaches and look forward to our next visit !!!!!!! I cannot thank Kevin enough for being such an excellent server also !!!!!! I continue to recommend Nate's for very good seafood and outstanding crawfish !!!!!!! The last 3 photos are from this visit......
My family and I celebrated my son's 21st Birthday here yesterday 8.15.2021. I have to say we picked the right place to celebrate!! It was our first time here and our waiter Kyle was simply and completely AMAZING!! He made the entire celebration very memorable!! The service was top notch!! Food he recommended was so yummy!! We definitely will be back and will make sure to ask for him. Servers like Kyle are hard to find and I feel he made our special occasion even more memorable! Thank you Kyle!!😊
Our server, Ace was amazing and very friendly! The food is always delicious and well prepared. I always enjoy myself at Nate’s and they are very consistent. The street tacos and creole gumbo wonderful. Thank you for the experience! Go Ace, my Virgo friend. Happy early birthday 🎂
Lunch or dinner, Nate's is good. We got the salmon lunch special, made broiled. We'll try blackened next time for more flavor. Onion rings and calamari were great. The waiters are always friendly and food doesn't take long to come to your table. You get garlic bread and hush puppies for the table when you get your drinks.
Excellent in every regard. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff that is very professional. Very helpful with the specials and making sure the experience is 5 star. Really would give more stars if possible. Food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Super clean and very nice atmosphere with intriguing items throughout the restaurant. Absolutely, 100 percent recommended Nate's Steak and Seafood. Anyone who likes steak and Seafood in the Dallas ft worth area would be missing a jewel without visiting. The menu and items are as detailed as the service. 100 percent recommended.
It was choosen as the best restaurant in Dallas by the Dallas Observer's readers, and i don't have a reason to disagre. The place is really comfortable, the staff is friendly and promptly, and the food is great. My Poboy is probably the best i have had in a long time. We definitivily plan to return any time soon.
Best place to go with friends and family. They have a beautifully decorated shack like place. You are served complimentary hush puppies and garlic bread. The servers are really funny and entertaining and have a general positive attitude. Overall, great place, definitely bringing all my friends here for sure.
Came in on a Friday evening, I honestly thought it would be more packed. We were seated immediately and the waiter was the best. They have so much seating available and even outside seating with heaters. Ordered the fries pickles for the appetizer and they were really good. For dinner I had shrimp and crab etoufee and man that was amazing- so much flavor and it was a good size portion. Husband had the steak (Ribeye) and shrimp - was an absolute favorite (Highly recommend ) some of the best food and service we’ve had in awhile.
This place NEVER DISAPPOINTS. The food is so fresh and delicious. The crayfish are MASSIVE. I eat about 5 pounds by myself. If you have not tried this place, you better give it a shot. It's definitely worth every penny.
Very unique atmosphere with exceptional service and good sized portions. Much more seafood than steak, but both were very good. The butter toast they serve when you’re seated was also very good. The best part, however, was Gregory, our server. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and added to the experience.
Delicious would sum it up but if you want a break down here it goes. Went in on Sunday night. Thought it would be a wait but we were seated immediately. Everyone was nice and friendly. We had calamari which was excellent. Wish I had more cause it went quick. I had the crab sample or crab playe with a pound of extra shrimp. Also tasty. Glad I got the shrimp because I would have still been hungry otherwise. My husband got some fancy looking fish that tasted amazing. Next time I'll order that however he too was wanting more. Kids had adult plates and ate everything. All and all it was great and delicious. Maybe over price for the amount of food you get but the atmosphere and service made it a great time.
Nate’s Seafood & Steakhouse is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with live music that perfectly complements the dining experience. The oysters at Nate’s are simply the best I’ve ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, they are a must-try for any seafood lover. Each bite was a delightful burst of oceanic goodness. The service was impeccable. The staff at Nate’s are attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that my dining experience was nothing short of fantastic. Adding to the charm is the live music, which creates a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. It’s the perfect backdrop for a great meal with friends or family.
I travel for work, so I’ve been to eat a few places. Nate’s hands down is the best! I love the atmosphere, the food is amazing, service is always top notch! Gotta get the turbo crawfish! Reminds me of south Louisiana and how much I miss it 💜 Today was my 2nd time in and the bartender remembered my drink and food order exactly. This place is always busy, so it makes it extra impressive!
Delicious Cajun seafood options. Crawdads were huge and oysters were as big my hand. Turbo seasoning on the crawfish is the perfect spice and heat making you want more and more. The bread and hush puppies at the start of the meal were a delicious start to the meal. Good music playing and it was amazing patio weather.
Amazing restaurant for authentic Louisiana and Creole food. Live crawfish almost year round. Service is great and the restaurant has a very cool vibe.
This is our #1 favorite place for crawfish. Crawfish is always perfect, we get it with mushrooms and sausage. Flavors are amazing. We went early and still needed to wait for an hour but we were already prepared for that. I think they forgot us when ordered a refill but she quickly made it up to us. They were slammed. It's cozy in there but cool atmosphere!
The calamari was perfectly lighter battered, and very tender. For main entrée, I had the stuff flounder topped with scallops and shrimp in a wine sauce. So amazing.
This is not a review over the food service Atmosphere, it is a review on Nate’s seafood itself and the people that are employed there We went to Nates ( it is my absolutely favorite place to eat ) and I don’t know really what happened but everything got messed up today on my visit there ( Salad Gate ) I’m not gonna go into all the details of what happened. I think it was both my side and their side that was wrong, but I am going to tell you that these people were absolutely WONDERFUL in rectifying the problem. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. I was having a terrible day as it was going anyway . I was happy they were so accommodating and all ended well. Thank you Nate’s for making everything right. I appreciate your trouble today sincerely, a devoted patron. I WILL BE BACK IN PRETTY SOON.
We ate good both times at Nate's. Crawdegs, spicy shrimp, lobster, crab legs, seafood pasta and the garlic bread is good. First time on the patio, the last time at the bar. Jeff the bartender served us well. My wife enjoyed her margaritas and the Makers Mark hit the target for me. Even the other customers like Cory and Jill helped provide a memorable moment. Thanks for the round. We went on Sunday night after a disappointing lost of the Chiefs to the Raiders and Nate's raised our spirits. Don't let me forget to mention the live music. CT Davis Blues Powerhouse Band had the place jamming. This dude is a sleeper. He's walking around before hand, just shooting the shizzle looking unassuming while the band is setting up and then Mr CT starts bellowing out these joyous melodious tunes. The dude can sing and entertain. The band was a good accompaniment to his singing. That being said. We'll be back to eat next time we're in town and if it's on a Sunday night, we'll be looking forward to the good times. Nate's is a must visit establishment.
Amazing! Friday evening early before 5 is perfect. No waiting to be seated or to park. If you arrive later in the evening, parking will be a challenge. Bar area is open seating and area is big. Love the vibe! Food is always great. The service can vary, but today, it was good. Theres many food options to choose from. Caution - the small broiled chicken takes 30 min to come out, but it's absolutely worth it. The pic says it all. My husband and I always get seafood, but today, my daughter was in the mood for chicken. Come check it out and have your own experience.
This place is great! My food was so flavorful and cooked to perfection! Everything was seasoned well & the gumbo is AMAZING! Unfortunately I only took videos of my meal and It won’t let me upload it. I 100% recommend the grilled red fish canal! My server was so kind and sweet! She checked on us without having to ask , anything we needed was already given to us because she was ON IT. I wish I remembered her name but she was in the bar area.
Great food, friendly staff, and fast service. We went on a Saturday night, called ahead to be put on the wait list, they said it would be about 30 mins, got there 20 mins later and checked in and they told us the wait was still 30 mins so we waited. Once seated, we had Tyrone, and he was awesome!! Got us drinks and apologize right away. I was very impressed at how fast the food was coming out! All the food was delicious!
Nate’s is the greatest seafood place with good prices. The employees are very friendly and take time to talk to you as if they have known you a long time. The boiled crawfish was right on point with the seasoning and was easy to peel. The seafood platter was also great. This is my go to place after moving up here from the Bayou Country of South Louisiana. Be sure to stop in for a great treat.
Antonio was our server and he was phenomenal! He gave outstanding customer service and the food was even better. The food was full of flavor and did not disappoint. I will surely be back to try the crawfish!
Absolutely love the turbo crawfish and the burger was delicious. The free bread is on point.
Since moving to Texas this has been by far the best crawfish I have had here in Texas! My friend has told me about this place plenty of times but with living so far away we’ve never come down here. This is definitely going to be a new stop and well worth the drive. I got 3 pounds of Crawfish with Corn and Potatoes Regular. The Garlic bread brought to the table was also very yummy! 10/10
We have been here several times and always have a good experience. The food is phenomenal. I almost always get shrimp and it’s never been bad. The bairde crab is unlike any other crab I’ve had before. So. Stinking. Good!!!!! And their garlic bread appetizer is mouth watering!!!! Special thanks to Salazar and Antonio for their service tonight!
Simaya was our waitress at Nate’s Seafood restaurant. She was great. Food was definitely a blast back to genuine Louisiana Cajun memories, right down to the Boudin that was served to us. Terrific atmosphere and really great food. Fast service and all the seafood was fresh, a real delight.
Great Food, great environment, great service.. Food was so great, to include the crawfish. We had to have the great restaurant AP seasoning. Now when we cook seafood at home, we add NATE's AP creole cajun seasoning and it brings the flavor out. Thanks Nate! Perry and Denise Belton,Tx.
The food at Nate’s Seafood and Steakhouse was incredible—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. But what truly made our night unforgettable was our server, Blaine. Blaine was funny, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and an absolute joy to be around. He made great recommendations, kept everything running smoothly, and had our table laughing the entire night. His personality and attention to detail turned dinner into an experience, not just a meal. If you’re dining at Nate’s, do yourself a favor and request Blaine. Great food is guaranteed—but Blaine is what makes the night special.
Came here for some cajun seafood and was not disappointed! The atmosphere, food, and staff were all great, with no complaints! I will say their spicier levels are not for the faint of heart! Parking was interesting, if I recall correctly; it was free if you get there before the big rush, then they convert their parking lot into a valet lot with cones and stuff. I am glad we beat the rush and got to park in their parking lot like you would anywhere else that doesn't charge for parking.
THE SPOT FOR LOUISIANA SEAFOOD!!! Crayfish are awesome. ANY STUFFED FISH IS AWESOME! THE STAFF IS AWESOME....GARLIC BREAD AND HUSHPUPPIES COME OUT FIRST DRENCHED IN BUTTER SERVED FOR THE TABLE IN A DISH!!! **FAR BETTER THAN CHIPS AND SALSA...but try not to fill up bc the food is amazing. The first time I came here, I was surprised with the soul atmosphere and the such amazing service and nice people surrounding us. I tried my first crawfish and even though it wasn’t nasty, it wasn’t my cup of tea, but the food was beyond delicious cooked to perfection, and the sauce was as spicy as I liked it! My second experience here was with a bigger group and we had front row seats to the live band once again, the same amazing energy over a beautifully cooked food and a basketball game. The service was outstanding as he remembered all of our orders without writing anything down and the food is consistent and temperature, Taste, texture. This is definitely my highly recommended seafood spot in Texas. No questions asked!
We visited last Sunday, Sam was our server. We didn’t have the best experience. However my daughter wanted to visit the restaurant since we loved the food, I was very hesitant especially since we were seated at the same table however Sam wasn’t our server. Chris 🥦 was and I couldn’t be happier. Chris went above and beyond, accommodating every request with a smile. He ensured we had everything we needed and made the evening special. This was more than just a meal—it was an experience! Thank you Chris for sure a wonderful evening. You changed our outlook on Nate’s, we will definitely be returning.
We went here for dinner while in town bc the ratings and it was always packed as we drove by....it was excellent! Our server was so friendly, helpful and had perfect timing. He has suggestions and was quick to followup. We started with crab claws that were blackened and fried. Yummy and fresh. A great sharing appetizer. Then we had the bacon wrapped shrimp. Also a great shareable. Juicy and salty from the bacon. Really yummy. We then shared the Lafayette book with shrimp, crawfish, crab, sausage, corn and potatoes. It was so yummy. Huge portion. Well cooked. Great flavor. Seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked. Loved the sausage. We also shared a Cajun pasta with shrimp, sausage and crawfish...well cooked pasta and the shrimp and sauce were all perfect together...so yummy. Loved everything.

We always love Nates! Crawfish season is here so we will be back at least 10 more times before it's over! I got regular heat which was still a Lil too spicfor me but was still good! My nose started running 🏃🏾♀️ JP Juice is a must! The waitress was great and food came out on time. The wait wasn't too long but we got there a little after 3. The later it got of course the longer the wait. Sunday they have live Blues that starts at 7 or 8pm and drink specials! Can't wait for our next visit!
Cool atmosphere, look people, the jambalaya is a total masterpiece!! My bartender was awesome. Prices are Pricey, but u should already know that. French bread was on point as was the oysters!
I recently revisited Nate’s Seafood with my mentor after nearly seven years, and I was pleasantly surprised by its consistency. While I was initially hesitant, the experience turned out to be memorable in a number of ways. The atmosphere is a bit unconventional… the dining room is dimly lit, accented by fluorescent lighting that may not be to everyone’s taste. On a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was fairly quiet, giving it a slower, more relaxed feel. The menu can be a little difficult to navigate at first, but the staff was accommodating and made the ordering process seamless. The food, however, was the highlight. The onion rings are truly exceptional- crispy, flavorful, and perfectly executed. The seafood tasted fresh and well-prepared, living up to the restaurant’s reputation. I finished with dessert to-go, which was just as enjoyable. Overall, Nate’s remains a neighborhood staple: reliable, unpretentious, and consistent over time. While the ambiance may divide opinions, the quality of the food and attentive service make it worth a visit.
Great spot to have a casual, leisurely and tasty meal. I had fried catfish and grilled veggies. And the atmosphere is all encompassing. So many knick knacks, pictures, tchotchkes, so much to see. I'm going back.
I think this place has really good food. Love the dirty rice! It’s the first time that I had it and it was yum! Seafood boils are amazing, the sauce was not that salty except for the sausage (i think the sausage are always salty because even from other seafood boils resto I’ve been to, it’s the same). I didn’t like their hush puppies and garlic bread tho, it was so soggy. The steak they gave my husband was well done instead of medium rare but i was impressed by our server (i wish i remember her name) and to their manager. How they handled the situation. Even though my husband said it’s okay—but his face shows is not, our server went to her manager and the manager talked to us and made the situation better! Both of them made sure that they want to make it right. Excellent excellent customer service! 👏👏👏 I also have to mentioned that their fried pickles is the best fried pickles I’ve ever had!!!! I might order some tonight lol. The only thing that honestly bothered me is their restroom. I think it needs renovation and fixing, one of their bathroom doors is broken. It also desperately needs attention—it is not that sanitary. That’s the only thing that made me feel a little bit off about this place. Anyways, still highly recommended!
We got the fried catfish, and the crab fingers as our appetizer. They were pretty good. I got the chicken gumbo pasta as my entrée. And my friend got the gumbo. Service was really good. We sat at the bar. It was a good time. It wasn’t too loud then again we were there in the afternoon. I only gave this a four out of five because there were no dessert options.
We recently visited Nate's Seafood & Steakhouse in Addison for the first time and had an overall good experience. We started with the crab fingers, which were tasty, though I felt they were a bit overpriced for the portion size. The bread and hush puppies were very good. For my entrée, I had The Solo, which I thought was a great value for the price (around $25). The crab legs and shrimp were delicious, though the sausage was a bit dry. One thing that surprised me was how quiet the restaurant was on a Saturday night, even with live music. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would dine here again in the future.
The first time I came here was amazing! Our server was great and had a lot of energy. He walked us through the menu and what he preferred, and the food had me craving it again for the days following. This time when we went, the server we got got our order wrong and was inattentive to our table. He only really tried talking with us when it was time for the check. We are a younger couple, so we figured the server thought we wouldn’t tip well and didn’t want to waste his time. Our food also got cold really quick and was a little undercooked, while last time everything felt perfect. We’re still going to continue eating here since the food is amazing, but maybe not when they’re busy…
Really great lunch! The spicy seasoning they throw on the crab legs is excellent, very nice balance of heat, acid, and salt. The popcorn shrimp is super fluffy and tasty and the hushpuppies/bread is a must have too. The bathroom is a little too dirty for me but besides that my time there was relaxing and fun.
This place was recommended to us for a good steak and seafood. The bartender was helpful, a little eclectic, and very bubbly. Being from Florida, the seafood was pretty good. The steak was VERY good, but it was market price, which was $45. Being that we eat steaks quite often, the ribeye we ordered was only 12 oz, was not what I would have expected to pay top dollar for. The neighbor next to us ordered crayfish and those looked delicious as well. If I was a local, not sure I would go back? I think I might give it one more try before I would make my decision.
I had heard a lot about this place and wanted to try. The food was excellent and tasty. The only negative of the food were the sweet potato fries. They were very thin and small so it was very hard to taste them. The snow crab and the fried oysters were fantastic, very tasty and generous portions. Our waitress was very friendly and guided us with her recommendations. The food came very fast and even though the place was crowded, it didn't take us more than 15 minutes to get seated. I'm definitely coming back again.

It's strange that the only available parking is complimentary valet. It's a nice gesture and takes away from patrons needing to find parking but makes lines longer when there's only 2 valet employees. Wait time usually isn't bad but I recommend using the "get on the wait list " early option via phone. Our service was okay but not great. Our server didn't tell us that they were out of bread until we asked which is after we got our apps and entrees. We didn't get refills till we asked either. The food was ok, I would come back again to see if my experience can be improved. The tables are too close for my comfort bc it doesn't allow too much walking room. The dry seasoning was good and has a spice kick to it but it was a little over salty. The sauces for the boils aren't worth it due to the over powering of the dry rub. We ordered alot of food to try but weren't impressed with it all. The pasta was small for the price. The price is pappadeaux price but not the same quality or quantity. The shrimps were decent size and tasted good. The garlic bread is def over buttered and the hush puppies were over cooked. Current market price is $36/snow crab, $40 for the bairdi crab which I preferred the snow crab.
My husband and I visited on Wednesday evening and ordered the crab fingers. They were tiny and kind of dry and not like they used to be. I ordered the seafood gumbo to go which was the only thing we enjoyed. My husband ordered a fried seafood platter with okra. We didn’t like any of the fried food selections and his meal was $36. Nate’s used to be so good, I am sad to see the quality of the food and taste have declined. Been going here for years. Hope they bounce back from this and get back on track!
Good atmosphere. I didn't feel the food was very good quality or authentic to my experience with Cajun food. I had the Cajun surf and turf the etoufee was not seasoned and I was disappointed it was frozen crawfish and a low quality ribeye.
I really wanted to have a five star experience, unfortunately there were several reason I chose to rate them three stars. First, parking could be a real challenge if you wanna park yourself. They have valet parking though. Second, since they are extremely popular, there is a wait time. I waited for about 50 minutes. Third, it’s mostly houseful. Servers sending orders every minutes. There are chances that your order is mixed up. I don’t blame anyone, it can be a easy mistake. Alright, talking about the food. It is good. Good? Yes.. just good. However, their gumbo is great. Really great. If we come here again, it will be for gumbo. Our server was nice but didn’t keep the drinks refill without being specifically requested. I get it, it was really busy. Next.. two of our orders was mixed as the sides were swapped. They fixed it quickly. Every thing is acceptable until this. I had an extremely unpleasant taste and it was just one bite from my alligator po boy. Probably the meat wasn’t cooked or something, it wasn’t the bite I wanna have again. However the rest of it was tasty. Ultimately, our bill was off by $20. They apologized and fixed it quickly. Verdict: If in the neighborhood, will stop by again only for gumbo and if there isn’t any wait. Will just pass on otherwise.
I’m disappointed. First off we waited 2 hours to be seated. So of course I had high hopes first the place. Not that I think they could have done anything differently but all the hype about the crawfish and once I got it…. It did not come close to meeting my expectations. What I will say though is that they did offer to correct the issue and allowed me to order something else. But that was bland too. My mother had fish that was still partially raw. That was referred to as the bloodline. We weren’t offered garlic bread. that so many people talked about to idk if it’s supposed to come with the meal or if you have to order it. The fried gator, fried pickles, & gumbo was good. Tia was nice so I’ll give 3 stars but I would not return.
You'd think a seafood restaurant that's been in business over 35 years would be out of this world amazing. But then, you'd be wrong. Our family of four chose to dine at Nate's because they serve the seafood boils I was craving as well as a selection of fried seafood that my husband prefers. We ordered chargilled oysters, boiled shrimp (regular spice with JP juice), fried catfish, dirty rice, onion rings, and fried okra. Everything except the oysters lacked seasoning. All the fried foods probably would've been better if they had just a touch of salt added to the batter/breading. The dirty rice was simply bland rice and meat in a bowl. That's not at all what dirty rice should taste like. And lastly, the shrimp (the one thing I'd been looking forward to ordering) were a major letdown. On a positive note, they were huge shrimp. But they were also lacking in seasoning. The "juice" I ordered to go with them was unseasoned butter with lemon juice added. Very disappointing. The prices were very reasonable, something you don't always find when ordering at market price. Our server, Tyrone, was very friendly and service was very fast. As for the atmosphere, we found it to be incredibly dark and loud inside. But perhaps that's my age showing through. All in all, we won't be going back to Nate's anytime soon if ever.
The crawfish was definitely fresh, which I appreciated, but unfortunately, the rub was overwhelmingly salty. I added sausage, corn, and potatoes, but the saltiness made it hard to enjoy those extras as well. I ended up with heartburn later that night. Great potential, but I hope they tone down the salt in their dry rubs.
I’ve plenty of these Louisiana style food and this wasn’t the freshest. Unfortunately the popcorn shrimp (breaded) was not as crispy as it could have been. The boiled crab lacked the deep flavoring. It was cooked but seasoning coated it more than cooked throughout like other places I’ve had where the broth could soak into the crab meat and shrimp rather than just cooked and dipped in sauce for flavor. 2.5 stars for the food-price is on the lower end for seafood if you are on a budget for seafood 5 stars for service. Twice baked potato was rather chewy, tasted like it was a day old and microwaved .daughter really liked the hush puppies but it was too dry for me. Give it a try, but once is enough for me.

The good-we we're seated fast on a Sunday evening. The valet option is nice. Our server, Rhianna, was nice. Our entrees were good.\n\nThe bad-very weak mixed drinks with no prices for these on me…
I have never in my life had dry chargrilled oysters until today. I sent my first plate back , stuffed shrimp, because the menu falsely stated that it was stuffed with crabmeat… it was not. It was some doughy topping that was not at all crab. It did not taste good at all. I ordered the chargrilled oysters in place of and those were not good either. No cheese and barely any butter. Had to take it home to Dr it up. The waiter was kind though… and the atmosphere was nice.
This restaurant was highly recommended by several acquaintances. I finally made that hour drive to check it out and I’ll have to say that I was disappointed. Parking was tight but they offered complimentary valet, which was nice. The restaurant was pretty packed and we waited about 40 min to be seated. Customer service was great but the food was very bland. I ordered cajun gumbo, crab cakes and a Lafayette seafood boil. The boil was a dry rub and I didn’t have any juice in my crawfish. The flavor was mediocre and honestly was the worst seafood boil I’ve ever eaten. I left feeling like I wasted $200, but hey, now I know.
Went here for the first time and the overall experience was not good. I ordered over the phone with what sounded like an old lady. She was rude and unfriendly. Being a first time I was asking her different questions and one of them if they mix any alcohol in the batter of a catfish like some other seafood restaurants does. She answered as if I asked a dumbest question in the world! Catfish was just okay and nothing special. Had a very strong "fishy" taste. Fries were just okay as well. Upon checking my receipt afterwards, I saw $1 was added under "Take Out." I don't think this "extra" charge was mentioned anywhere on their menu and/or in the store. They should clearly mentioned any extra charge instead of just adding and then charging it without customer's approval. Not sure if I will try this restaurant again or not.
This is heartbreaking to write!!! Restaurant person here who used to frequent Nate's when I lived in that area and it was always a wonderful 5 star experience! I'm not sure what happened but it's drastically different now! And I don't mean that in a good way at all. Out of all the seafood places I could have picked for a holiday lunch with friends I picked Nate's as the atmosphere was suitable for talking and the food USED to be consistently excellent but not any longer!!! We started with the poorest excuse for crab fingers that were tiny and cooked to the point of dry and tasteless and our server forgot the garlic butter for them! Even with it they were still a total waste of money! As we wanted light bites, we ordered two apps and shrimp tacos. The tacos were served without any sauce either. My catfish bites were like remnants of the crumbs that are left from Long John Silvers filets that come in the box with their fish. And I ordered Rémoulade which was forgotten as well. Other awful thing was the chicken tenders which, like the crab fingers, were dry and tasteless. Such a sad dining experience! Our server was Chris, who was a chipper although forgetful young man, asked us no less than 5 times if we were ready for our entrees (which we just came for a light lunch so no entrees were ever on our minds). It was very pushy and screamed of wanting to increase our ticket. I selected Nate's because of the atmosphere and fond memories of past dining experiences but sadly this was my final visit.
My boyfriend got take out for him and I last night. I wish the food tasted like the last time we had the Chilean sea bass which was out last night. Instead he had to get us something else and it was so cold and the bread and hush puppies tasted old too. The veggies were cold, but tasted fresh after I warmed them up. I wish our experience was the same as last. This is the second time my fish is so cold I waited to write a review that time. Also this fish was very dry :( Please make this better Nates. The order name was under Henderson btw if y’all want to try to help investigate what happened. Thank you.

Heard great things and was in town for the 4th so we figured we’d grab some fresh crawfish before the season ended (100% Cajun, but now live in the Midwest). The crawfish were actually very big and would have been great if they weren’t absolutely burnt. Just looking at other plates on this page, they look cooked perfectly, being red/dark red, but ours were almost black and they were almost impossible to peel. We ended up leaving most of it on the table. Informed our server (who was great, otherwise), but no one addressed our complaint in any way. $100 down the drain. Kids chicken tenders and fries were not good either.
The atmosphere was great with the live music, and decor. Giving one star because of 1- hygiene: seeing MULTIPLE kitchen staff walk in and out of the restroom with their apron and towel on, wipe their hands in the apron and towel and go back into the kitchen and begin cooking and serving food🤢 2- I asked for my gumbo to not have Shrimp due to dietary constraints. Gumbo came out 30 minutes late delivered by the staff with the bathroom apron, and when we addressed it with the waiter very politely he got an attitude about it then continued to avoid our table for 15-20 minutes while we just waited for the check. There were homeless children walking around with a piece of paper from table to table asking for money. The manager was kind, was understanding and was willing to comp the the meal that had the greatest issue which I am very grateful for. As for the food itself, it was not the greatest but it wasn’t the worst. Maybe this was a rough night I am not sure but I don’t know if I would go back again, as this was my first time.
I’ll start out by saying the service wasn’t the issue. Our server was friendly, answered all our questions, and was attentive. It wasn’t his fault that the food was terrible. I ordered the half and half platter which came with fried shrimp and catfish. The catfish was tiny and extremely muddy tasting to the point I couldn’t eat more than a couple bites. The shrimp was decent but under seasoned like the rest of the food. My friend’s boil was subpar and had no flavor. The red beans and rice tasted like they came out of a can— just all in all completely flavorless food that wasn’t worth the $100 I spent here. We ended up going somewhere else, don’t waste your money here.
The food wasn't good. It wasn't seasoned well. It's not cajun styled - maybe their take on Cajun. The staff was friendly enough (as in not rude). The crab cake tastes decent but has a weird breading. The hush puppies are gross. The garlic bread was kind of good but it was hard. The stuffed shrimp was decent. The seafood gumbo was just ok after adding salt. The fried catfish had a weird taste and the fries were bland. The scallops were just ok. The blackened shrimp was ok. The seafood jambalaya was gross and lacked seasoning BUT it had a ton of shrimp and scallops so that's a plus! I did have a Texas Peach drink and it was delicious! In all fairness they offered to get the manager but we declined. This doesn't seem to be a one off. This is how they cook their food and I'm sure someone, somewhere likes it - just not us.
UPDATE: The prices WERE raised and everyone that frequents there, KNOWS THAT. I am a CHEF and I have been eating FRESH CAUGHT shrimp my entire life! Your shrimp is FARM RAISED. Period. . Anyone that has a great palet, can taste the difference!! Your response to someone that has spent $1000's & $1000's of dollars over the last 25 years, proves your immaturity and narcissism. I NEVER EVER leave reviews, but in this case, I will. You will not call me a liar and belittle me. There is ONLY 1 TRUTH. PERIOD. Me, my family and friends have been coming to Nate's for over 25 years. Went last week to have lunch with my wife and 2 friends. Customer service was great, as usual. But the fried shrimp was FARM RAISED. Nate not only raised the prices, but he went from using WILD CAUGHT shrimp, to FARM RAISED. We can most definitely taste the difference sir. You are making more money on horrible farm raised shrimp. I seriously cannot believe you did that to us, your dedicated patrons. I am EXTREMELY upset and disappointed! We will not be back!
If you're looking for a good sea food boil, this aint it... I ordered a seafood boil and.. they don't do cajun seasoning here bc my boil was pink... so yeah.. tbh.. buuuut the bar servers were lit! At least. ** Adding Note: Welp, See guys.. Complaint: RECVD an Un-Seasoned Sea Food Boil, A Plain Boil. EX: of good Sea Food Boil: the Kickin Crab - Old Denton Carrollton TX
I’ve been coming here for over 10 years And I always have amazing service apart from when I’m served by Jeff. It seems to be like a group of white men, and usually a younger woman with them Always get the attention and overserved, which is completely obvious Every time I come in when he’s at the bar. It was just them and myself and my boyfriend at the bar and I had to yell across the bar multiple times to get service and even get a drink order in. Idk How he still works here after so many years because this has been years of him doing this. And normally, I wouldn’t freaking care Because there’s a full bar and yeah, you can make excuses for it but the fact that it was just that group of people and me and my boyfriend and he still couldn’t attend to us. Yeah that’s where I have an issue. How long are we gonna let him over serve and neglect other customers who aren’t his “regulars”? Even though I’ve been a regular for over 10 years… i guess that doesn’t matter
Food was horrible and not worth the price. They need to stop calling the seafood platter a platter became you barely got any seafood on the place, it needs to be called seafood sampler. The red beans was horrible taste like burnt beans, the beans looked like bullets, gumbo tastes like burnt store bought roux, suppose to be seafood gumbo, 2 shrimps and crabmeat thrown in there. Dirty rice was a no. I also order stuffed shrimp they were just ok. I spent $67 just to throw most of it away… In summary don’t order the platter expecting a PLATTER, very skimpy on the seafood. Don’t u dare get the gumbo or beans (which I knew better, but said hey let me give it a shot) I really would like a refund because it was a waste
The waiter was rude and acted like he didn't have the time for us to make up our minds on our appetizers and the meal..kept on rushing us......I WILL NOT RECOMMEND NATE'S TO MY FRIENDS OR MY COWORKERS....I ordered the dirty rice..(it was overcooked to the point it was too soft, mushy,my blackened catfish was undercooked and slimy.i was very disappointed!!!! My waiters name was... SAM!!!!..he didn't even try to replace that awful meal I was served..we spent over $200.dollars for ....that!?;&' Will never happen again .IRA WARD....
We ordered, for pickup, this past Saturday. To say that we were disappointed, was an understatement. I believe the bill, before tip, was approx. $91.00. I think we left a $10.00 tip. We ordered a crab finger dinner with red beans and rice, a side of fried okra, the Blackened Catfish Acadiana and fried mushrooms. Once we got home, we realized that they'd put the crispy fried okra in with the Catfish dish. Not sure why, because the catfish was not fried. It had a sauce; and is served over rice dressing, therefore adding the okra made the okra soggy. We called, and I'll be honest, I really don't think they wanted to be bothered. They said they would remake the catfish. So, while we went to exchange one dish, the other food got cold. When we got back home, we realized that they didn't even give us the rice dressing, that's supposed to come with the catfish meal. My food was cold. His food was missing the dressing. The mushrooms weren't good. The red beans and rice looked burnt. We didn't even bother calling back. We ended up throwing the food away and I made a charcuterie board. To be fair, I had more crab fingers than pictured. I'd already thrown some away, before I thought to take pictures. There was also more red beans and rice. That was thrown away as well.
Me and my friends went to Nate’s on Sunday night and have been waiting to get crawfish for about 2 weeks since it’s good in season right now and we waited for an hour and half to get told that they ran out of crawfish when the table that got sat right after us was able to order it. First off, We had gotten on the waiting list before we even arrived and multiple of us had gone into check on how much longer after waiting well after the 30 minutes we were initially told to be told that they had a table for us and were looking for us which we were sitting outside like everyone else and they had called every other person on the intercom but us and one other table. Then we get inside wait at least 15 minutes for drinks and 30 minutes to even get our food order in and to be told we cannot get crawfish which is fine but what was not okay is our food came out 30-35 minutes after we ordered and in that amount of time other people were ordering crawfish and being served crawfish before our food even came out. I asked to speak to a manager which I did and she said for only 20 minutes they did not have crawfish which we waited for our food way longer than that and could have been told they actually got a shipment and it was ready by the time we received our food. I feel there was a strong lack of communication throughout the restaurant and our experience would have been better if there was that communication.
I've ate Nate's multiple times I'll never go back I'll never recommend I'm going to post this on every social media site that I can do not recommend throwing it in the trash I need a full refund I will be there as soon as you guys open the next business day! I take my first scoop of red beans and rice and I pick up red beans and rice and a bottle cap from a beer
The host sat us right next to a table of about 10-12 people. There were 4 of us , we all ordered different meals. One of the people at our table sent their food back and order something else and the next dish came out just as horrendous as the first dish did.. we all thought the food had no flavor, was under one for some of us and underdone for the rest of us. We only went there because it was recommended by a friend of ours years ago that had went there. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! DO NOT GO THERE! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Read the reviews and look at all the pics being posted on the reviews. Just icky! Here is my response to your reply to me since there isn't a way to click reply to you. Regarding Owner Response to 1-Star Review Thank you for your response, but I must respectfully clarify a few things regarding the standard protocol and the severity of our issue. Regarding Management Protocol You stated that I should have asked for a manager when I was unhappy. In most reputable full-service restaurants, the standard protocol dictates that when a dish is sent back to the kitchen, a manager or chef should automatically approach the table to understand the issue and attempt to rectify it. It is highly unusual and poor service management that this did not occur. We should not have had to seek out a manager to address unsatisfactory food that was returned. Regarding the Food Quality The issue was not simply one person being "unhappy"; the food quality was fundamentally poor across the entire table, and a replacement dish was also inedible. The first dish sent back was replaced with fried gulf shrimp that were mushy and had a terrible taste, confirmed by two separate people at the table. My daughter and I split a meal where the french fries were inedible tiny bottom pieces and the sweet potato fries were firm, tasteless, and improperly cooked. The entire table of four agreed the food lacked flavor and was poorly prepared. The quality issues were so pervasive that I stand by my assessment: the only true rectification would have been a full refund on the food, which was never offered or pursued due to the lack of management presence. Regarding Expectations My disappointment was amplified because I chose your restaurant based on a friend's recommendation and the local connection to the Lafayette, Louisiana area. Knowing the high standard of Cajun cooking from that region, I arrived with high expectations for a delicious meal, unfortunately, those expectations were severely unmet. While I appreciate your sentiment that all restaurants have bad days, based on the consistency of the poor quality across multiple dishes, I maintain that our experience merits the 1-star review. The place was horrendous. My food was overcooked and dry was disgusting. The service, I mean as helpful as they were, they were just as rude. The only thing I was good about that place was the drink so they had a good bartender. And they blamed all the bad food on some new guy they hired. I'm good. I will never eat her again.
