La Plata Agoura Hills Reviews
Plata is one of my favorite spots for fresh, flavorful Mexican food with a gourmet twist. The dishes feel familiar but elevated with special ingredients I wouldn’t make at home. I almost always order the Trio of Tacos so I can try different flavors. Tonight I had the crispy shrimp with mango salsa, the short rib, and the lettuce-wrap tinga taco with a crispy cheese tuille inside, all really good. Their cilantro rice and beans are great, too, and the watermelon aguas frescas was refreshing. Service is consistently excellent friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. I also love the peaceful courtyard seating with greenery and a water feature. And as a bonus, TIFA Gelato! is right in the same center if you want something sweet afterward. Highly recommend!
People drive all crazy in that parking lot. The food was great, but pricey for my taste. Definitely a once in a while place to eat. The server was nice and checked in offen. I would definitely go back to celebrate a birthday or treat myself.
A very popular Mexican dinner destination for the area. Food is authentic, service is out of the park, the whole family loved it! We have always enjoyed the warm family and friends atmosphere whenever we go to a Mexican dinning place. No surprise there. Ok my husband ordered a beer brewed locally. He said it’s fruity and tasty. My son ordered a special giant Mexican coke. They apparently enjoyed their drinks. I had to drive them both back. They were Happy, extra happy! The steak was seasoned perfectly, medium rare as promised, it’s juicy and scrumptious, and took three of us to finish, terrific! Everything else was awesome too. This is a great place to spend a relaxing and nonjudgmental place with family a friends. Enjoy!
my friend Roman referred this spot to me. Food is amazing and priced well! Perfect spot to satisfy your cravings. If you go, try the elote!!
First visit and loved this restaurant. Enjoyed everything starting with great chips and salsa. Had delicious tacos and a side of beans which were very good. Ill be back!
The location is very pretty. Little water fountain outside the doors. 10/10 ambiance. I was so surprised at how affordable the food was for the area. Most dishes were around 20-30. Not bad per person. Sides were around 12-20. Highly recommend the Tablita. Piece of carne asada on top of a nopal with cheese on it. Delicious and filling. We also tried the cordero. Pretty close in flavor to birria but definitely preferred the Tablita.
Plata Cocina Mexicana is a true treasure! From the moment you step in, the vibrant ambiance and beautifully designed space set the tone for a great dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious – their mole chicken and enchiladas are must-tries, and the guacamole is so fresh and flavorful. The margaritas are perfectly balanced and pair wonderfully with the variety of dishes. The service was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Whether you’re there for a casual lunch or a celebratory dinner, Plata Cocina Mexicana does not disappoint. Highly recommend if you’re in the Agoura Hills or Thousand Oaks area and craving authentic Mexican cuisine with a modern twist!
✨ Hidden gem of Agoura Hills The ambience of Plata is the perfect place to either go in workout clothes or dress up nice. You will never feel out of place. We had Jessica as our server. She was very pleasant and efficient. The food is AMAZING!! Although we didn’t have a margarita, we noticed how huge they are. It’s a MUST eatery place in Agoura Hills Whizen Center. We choose to sit outside
Service has always been consistent here and the servers are all friendly. COVID: Love how they have a brown bag for all their utensils and napkins. Ample outdoor seating throughout the restaurant. Food: Love their fresh chips and salsa, that's always been consistent and amazing! #1 salad imo is Que Buena Fresh Kale / Candied Pumpkin Seeds / Strawberries / Shaved Coconut / Queso Fresco / Agave-Lime Vinaigrette #1 taco is Alambre taco Carne Asada / Roasted Cactus / Crispy Cheese / Guacamole / Pistachio Jalapeño Salsa (+ $1 Per Taco) PLEASE I dare you to try the Alambre taco and you won't regret it.
Unique Experience. I felt like I was on vacation. The food was not your typical Mexican food (which I like also). We had the lamb shank and a three plate of tacos. Both were great! I came for the chips which didn't disappoint - warm to the table with great salsa. The service was really good also. The entire mall was very busy and parking was a real problem. We will be back. FUN.
The food was amazing. A couple types of ceviche, both delicious, & 2 beverages added up to perfection. Their take on a strawberry margarita & a mojito certainly left a trademark only they could could live up to.
The food was great, vibe was amazing. The staff were nice, but the food took for ever, be ready to wait about 45 minutes for your food to arrive. Might not come back here just for this reason and this only if we are planning on dinner. Having that said, if you are craving drinks, definitely your spot is here.
Always looking for a good Mexican restaurant and this was our time trying Plata Concina. Overall it was pretty good. Our server was really nice but a little slow at times as it was very busy (Saturday evening). The rancho guacamole was delicious as were the margaritas. We would go back to maybe try some other dishes.
I’ve been to plata a couple times before and it’s always been really good! We all started with margaritas- I got one with muddled strawberries and mint. The flavor was very light and refreshing. I also got the short rib enchiladas that came with a red sauce and a side of cheesey cauliflower. The red sauce was actually a little spicier than anticipated but still really good. The green rice was a nice pairing with it. My aunt got the chicken enchiladas with green sauce which is always a classic. My brother got the burrito which was delicious and very big- he only ate half and took the rest home. I don’t know what it was called on the menu but my dad got some sort of steak which was smothered in cheese and other toppings served with rice and beans- very good!! Lastly my brothers fiance got the ceviche and chile relleno. She ate all the ceviche so I’m assuming it was delicious and is served with a tostada tortilla on the bottom. The chili relleno was good too. Very good portion sizes ! The service was good as well and the chips and salsa are delicious we couldn’t get enough!
Reason for visiting: dinner with co-workers Date/time of visit: Wed night, ~6:00 PM Parking: shared in the adjacent lot with other businesses. Free. Party size: 8 Environment/ambience: not too busy. A few TVs around with baseball games on (no sound). We sat outside, near the back. Nice place to meet up after work; no happy hour though. Service: great. Came around often. Nice and polite. Food: had the tablita (split with my brother), Michelada, and some of the guac and chips. Everything was pretty good; could prob eat the whole thing myself but splitting it is a good way to keep it light 😀 Michelada was ok, not too spicy. Guac and chips were good; had it with separate chips not the chip it came with 😀 Cost: ~$45 with tip
Went to eat at this restaurant with a large group. I never received my credit card back since there were a few credit cards to be paid with. I called that evening the next day the next day after that and they kept saying that there was no credit card that I had left behind. I finally went in myself , spoke to the bar tender at that point he gave me 100 credit cards to look through. I found my card. What upsets me as a track of motivation to look through cards that apparently you guys never return to customers. It cost me time and trouble. The food was mediocre, but I would’ve gone back. The reason I have not and will not return is that when my husband complained to the manager about the lack of motivation to find our card after so many calls, she was very rude and huffy. Very disappointed since I have frequent this place many times before with friends and family. Never again
