gorditas Aguascalientes Reviews
Great food and wonderful service. I highly recommend the pork in red sauce.
the food was good, music was on and off, seating was quick, efficient staff but not friendly
Been eating here for at-least 12-15 years. Great food. Nothing like the Gorditas de Puerco, Rajas, or nopales! I’ve gone solo many times during work hrs if I’m near the area, and also with friends and family. Our go to spot when mamá, papa, y mis abuelos come to town. It’s that great! Gorditas has served the entire men’s soccer team I play for, and their wife’s and kids for many years coming from Bayland Park nearby. It’s not your typical TEX-MEX food people. It’s authentic Mexican Cuisine. When you know. You know.
I've been visiting this place for over 20 years. The restaurant is very small and there's not good AC conditioning, however who really knows this place don't mind it. It has always been like this. The food is good and the service has always been excellent. So, if you ever want to enjoy a good champurrado or some delicious gorditas. Go visit Gorditas Aguascalientes!!
"This Mexican restaurant offers good service and solid food. My friend loved the chicken gordita, saying it was fantastic. I tried the mushroom gordita, which was decent but not outstanding. They did have a vegan option, but it wasn’t great—definitely room for improvement there. Overall, it’s a nice spot with a good variety of dishes, but the vegan offerings could use some work. Still, it’s worth checking out if you're in the mood for some tasty Mexican food."
Nondescript hole in the wall with authentic mexican dishes. Some of the fluorescent lights would turn on and off occasionally, and the furniture is modest. The decor is actually really cute and feels like places I’ve seen near CDMX. They used to have a large variety of dishes in the $10 lunch special menu but they’ve whittled it down to 6. The flautas were light in flavor and the rice that went with it was slightly sour, but the beans were smooth and hearty. The fajitas (now $15 off the lunch menu) have shrunk in portion but come with the same sized accoutrements as before. Used to be a great spot for a budget lunch, now a little less so. Still lovely service (Spanish only!) and authentic mexican feel!
I’ve been eating here for more than 20 years quality has gone way down . All the food is bland . It’s a shame I always order the pozole and it doesn’t have the same taste anymore
Did not like this place at all the waitresses are rude and just not helpful the customer service was not there. my son is allergic to diary and eggs as I was ordering his food I normally ask if their rice had any butter in it as some place do make their food differently and we have had a scare due to this. The waitress said she doesn’t know so I asked about some other items on the menu and she just said well we just don’t have anything for him my sister in law said well can you ask them if they use butter on anything. it’s not that hard to ask the cooks that are 2 ft away from our table if they use any. Not only did we have this happen the food was not great will not be returning.
I remember coming here a lot when I was younger and the food was delicious always packed too. Decided to take the long drive here today, I regret it. I ordered sopes de fajita, the meat was disgusting, I asked to have them replaced with a different type of meat. They came back and said we tried the meat and it tastes fine. Mind you it was three people who said the same thing. Our waitress had the worst attitude and was acting dumb. I asked if some of the items I ordered used butter (my nephew is allergic) she continued to say oh I don’t know, I don’t know. Until I said “well can’t you go ask someone who knows” horrible experience. Will not return ever.
Horrible service. The waitresses are so entitled and rude. Doesn’t help that that the quality of food has worsened over the years as well. So unfortunately, I witnessed the grossest attitude towards another customer where one of the waitress harassed and said horrible things to her and she went as far as to tell her “I HOPE YOU NEVER COME BACK” and then started talking down on the customers in general amongst themselves. This is so baffling. You’re better off going across the street to the other Mexican restaurant. Not to mention, The restaurant across the street actually has good salsa and good food unlike this salsa which was watery and to top it off, you constantly have to flag down the waitresses to get the basic necessities like napkins, a refill on water, and chips. Alot of flies around the natural waters as well and the bathrooms are filthy. After horrible service and food, they have the audacity to force you to try and leave them a tip through Zelle…. So unprofessional. I really hope the owner does something about this because the sign they have upfront of “short staffed” will turn into a shortage of customers if they don’t start from bettering their staff. This was the worst experience I’ve had in a while.
I have been there before and it has definitely gone downhill. The service was just ok but the food was no where near what you would expect. Most definitely not going back nor would I recommend it to anyone.
CUSTOMER SERVICE! This place has the worst customer service I have ever seen! Since you walk in all you see is sourpuss faces! And they take for ever to acknowledge you! I usually place my order over the phone and when I pick up it’s like my presence is a problem! Their facial expressions say it so loud! I will never spend my hard earned money at this place ever again! The food is not all that good it’s very bland! So having to deal with bad customer service and bland food? No thank you!
Third time in a period of two months was served pork red curry (guisado) that's supposed to be kept at a safe serving temperature was served at lower than room temperature--Health Department will visit you soon.
Food was bland the meat tasted sweet in most of the dishes . The only one that was decent was the pork in green salsa . The Pinaple water was warm and tasted spoil . We tough that a taco had a hair the waitress got the food plate and was moving it around and playing with the food we weren’t done eating she demanded us to give her the plate when we went done eating and she just took it dropping a fork close to my eye it hit my chest and she didn’t apologize or anything . So then we tell the other waitress that we weren’t done eating our food and that they just took the tacos and it was rude . She said they wouldn’t charge but they still charged . The took for ever to refill water and the chips also the chips were stale . Like I said food was meh the tomato sauce on the cactus taco tasted like spaghetti sauce the meat tacos tasted sweet the tortillas were home made but too thick and dry hard to swallow . Please save your money go to torchy’s tacos is way better .
It's disappointing to hear that your recent experience at Gorditas Aguascalientes wasn't up to par. It's crucial for restaurants to maintain fair pricing and food quality, and it seems there might be room for improvement in these areas. Overcharging and burnt or low-quality meat are issues that should be addressed promptly. Updating prices to reflect the current market is essential to ensure customers receive the correct value. Furthermore, better management and more attentive staff are necessary to provide a more satisfying dining experience. It's unfortunate when a place you used to enjoy doesn't meet your expectations anymore. Hopefully, the restaurant can take your feedback to heart and work on improving their offerings and service.
I loved this place when I was younger, my family and I, where about to order and the waitress wasn’t giving the right attention to us and we waited for almost roughly 30-45 minutes to get our food. I was really getting frustrated Of what was going on. When we got our food, we have anything on our plate. My mom was not happy with that. Well we ate and we were ready to pay. I found it very unusual that our receipt was charged doubled. And the drinks were 5.95 and we spend around 80$ for 5 meals and 5 drinks. Horrible experience and we never came back again. By the way, this happened in 11/22/2022
