Restauranr Marquez Ahumada Reviews
Great food, great service. The food did not take long. Overall great place.
If you haven’t tried Marquez in downtown Hammonton, run—don’t walk—get there ASAP! We went on a Sunday afternoon, and honestly, with the dishes coming out of that kitchen, there should be a line out the door. From the moment you walk in, it’s a great experience. You seat yourself, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is clean, and the overall vibe is spot on. We skipped appetizers this time—not because they didn’t look good, but because we were hungry and ready for the main event. No worries though… we’ll definitely be back. My wife ordered the steak fajitas, and wow. This was no cheap, chewy cut of meat—this steak was tender, flavorful, and practically melted in your mouth. Every bite made you want more. It was served with fresh, delicious guacamole, and the only thing missing was a small squeeze of lime—truly the tiniest critique. I went with the quesabirria tacos, and after trying many places, I can confidently say these take the top spot. If you live near or far, I don’t care—put this place on your must-try list. These tacos checked every box: • Double-wrapped tortillas ✔️ • Flavorful, moist meat ✔️ • Consomé so good I could’ve drank it ✔️ • Perfectly melted cheese topped with fresh onion and cilantro ✔️ We loved this place so much that it’s officially in our regular rotation. Huge shoutout to the kitchen and staff—keep up the amazing work. Check them out and let us know what you think! If you’ve been already, drop a comment—agree, disagree, let us know!
We always feel welcome here, and the food is very flavorful. A really pleasant place to eat.
My carnitas burrito was larger than the width of my arm and delicious!! Our orders were served quite quickly. Service was prompt and attentive. A nice quiet spot with excellent food and service!! Thank you!!
The quesobirria tacos were a 10/10, both times I have gone here so far! The food was super hot and delicious. Service was good as well. Highly recommend!!
Clean and well designed, has original brick from 1906. Food was delicious with large portions and reasonable prices. Friendly wait staff and owner. Currently byob but working on liqour license. Plenty of parking.would definitely recommend
Always better than expected. Personal service is exceptional. They check to make sure all is as you ordered. Nice!
Renovated the old bar and made it into a light and airy establishment. The food is great and the portions are very generous. I find myself loving this place. You should try it out. ♥️
We stopped in for a late lunch and had an excellent experience. The service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. The complimentary chips came with a flavorful refried bean dip and a slightly spicy, delicious salsa. My wife and I both ordered burritos, rancheros style, which included rice and beans. I chose the chicken, and she had the al pastor—both were excellent and generously sized. Plenty of on-street parking was available right out front. Highly recommend!
Went to dinner here last week and the food is absolutely incredible. The staff is amazing, and the restaurant is spotless! The pricing is very affordable. If you're a foody you need to visit this establishment for sure.
Rolled up with about 40 people after a soccer tournament and the staff was refreshingly friendly, competent, and efficient. The food was great (far exceeded my expectations) and came out quickly (like “wow” fast). Prices were completely reasonable too. So lots of stars all around! Thanks Marquez for allowing us to enjoy a special team building meal together! Wishing you loads of success! 💫
Waitress was very attentive and thoughtful. Offered chips and salsa and food came out promptly. Would revisit.
Had dinner with friends (party of 6) on August 17th. I've been to this restaurant at least 4 times previously and had a great experience. This time was absolutely different. The food took an extreme amount of time to get to our table, then we had to repeatedly request silverware so that we could eat once the food arrived. Two of my friends had only part of their meal (chicken, peppers, etc) but had to repeatedly request the tortillas for their fajitas. I ordered a drink that I never received and just decided I no longer wanted it. The restaurant was not even crowded and no one ever explained all the delay. The food was good, but the service was definitely lacking!
NOT A BAR!!! They have no liquor license. The steak on my nachos was full of gristle and tasteless. The cheese on the nachos is only the tinest sprinkle of dry queso. I dug through after taking the photo to make sure. There isn't anything good I can say about the food other than it looked nice. In this economy it sucks to waste money on a place like this. Lesson learned.
