EVERY time I come here, the place is busy. That ALONE should tell you something. Despite being consistently busy....the wait staff are courteous, pleasant, and responsive. The menu is vast, and I've had nearly* everything on it, at least once. *I am NOT a fan of eggs ANYWHERE, so I can NOT make opinions about their eggs. The cook staff know what they're doing. The food is always at the right temperature, the portions are always generous (for a guy my size to say that, should mean something), and is consistently flavorful. When it comes to pricing, you would be hard-pressed to find a better value for your hard earned dollar. This restuarant is an Akron icon, and is such, because they know Akron is a town where people are family, and money is generally tight. Their prices resemble those not seen in restaurants since the late 90's, early 2000's. In my humble opinion, this 5-star review is well deserved. This place is a GREAT choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

This small, hometown restaurant is a great place. The food was very good (huge portions), and the service was excellent. Waitress and person who seated us were friendly and treated us like they truly appreciated our being there. I would highly recommend this place.

Ive been eating the exact same breakfast here since I was a small child. Perfect consistency, 10/10 enjoyment and atmosphere for small town, slow living diner scenes.

We visit a couple times a month. It's pretty dated inside and standard fare. A local hot spot for a mature crowd. Just walk in and grab a table. Never had a wait. Bathrooms are tiny and in need of renovation (last we checked). There's a small private dining room that may seat up to 20 or so. Last time, there was a birthday party for an 80 y.o. with about 12 people of all ages.

We had the Friday fish fry and left feeling very satisfied. Our waitress was exceptional, working hard to serve our group of 10 people. No one left hungry!

Loved it! First time there and it was excellent. Cute little spot in Akron right by the grocery store. Food was made quickly and service was great! Will come here again.

We have never been before, wanted a centralized meeting place with family and Akron is it. We visited and had a great time and great breakfast. "Dunk" Kristina was awesome and super personable. Great amount of conversation and attentiveness. She had great recommendations and was funny! We want to come back for lunch or dinner food. Breakfast was great everything we had. Thanks Akron for having us, we will be back!!!

I came here after hike in Akron falls. We were seated indoors for our Sunday brunch. The sausage with biscuits was marvelous. One the mouth melting pancakes. The waitress was attentive to refill our coffee and give us extra plates to share. The ambience of the place reflected love for the Buffalo city .

I like this place because the prices are reasonable and the food is good. Everyday there is a specials board with about four options. The pies are varied that are homemade. Service is great. It's a small restaurant but nice and comfy and waitresses are friendly and treat nicely.

"They didnt hv candy apply tho" Diner with good food option tried "farmer breakfast" after a nice ride was perfect for the 1st time for a good price good ambiance However the server seems had a long day or maybe not in good mood but still good job of checkin on us.

Since Mary's Good and Plenty is now closed in Akron, this place seems to be the next best option for a hearty breakfast on a Saturday morning. The hashbrowns were excellent. I chose the variety with peppers and onions mixed with the potatoes. With some tables blocked off due to social distancing, they were filled nearly to their reduced capacity. Service at breakfast time was quite slow. We arrived before 9:00, were offered coffee about 9:10, and were served at 9:40 - fine if you are having a relaxing morning with friends, but perhaps a problem if you are on a schedule. In our case the food was worth the delay.

Wasn't impressed with the eggs Benedict. It tasted like cheese whiz on top, and the eggs were overcooked

The food is always so good at breakfast and lunch time. I figured try dinner item for a change. Maybe I'll stick with breakfast and lunch items. This was the chicken parm. Chicken was cooked perfectly. But the pasta there was barley any sauce. Edit: Candy Apple I saw you replied to my post but it vanished. This was takeout, so i didn't open it because it was in a tied bag.

We wanted to try somewhere different and support a local business. Candy Apple Cafe had some nice reviews and the parking lot was busy (generally a good sign) so we decided to check it out. Once inside we were told to seat ourselves. Our waitress was bubbly and super friendly. The menu had a lot to choose from. The prices were very reasonable. These were some strong positives! The negatives on our visit were mostly on the physical food prep. Where we sat we could see the plates being assembled. I saw a guy preparing without gloves (less hygienic then I would prefer) but more importantly also some him put chips on a customers plate and then take some off and start eating them. I have to admit I did not find that appealing. No hand washing after and then on to the next customers plate. The location is a little dated, but maybe in some way adds to the throwback charm of the Candy Apple Cafe. The food itself was very good and came quick. Were we not disappointed overall, but also felt somewhat disappointed at the same time (based on the above).

I forgot to do this the night I ate there so I’ll do it now….Wow….disappointing I use to come here for so long and it would be a lovely restaurant. I’m gonna start off by saying the waitresses where amazing so nice always checked in and where very pleasant to talk with but, the whole time I was there the cooks would constantly yell at the waitresses and nonstop bitching, the food was good, my wife got the lasagna from there she said it tasted like the worst lasagna she’s ever had. Also the place was gross the floor was sticky flys everywhere. Man maybe I just had a bad experience but it’ll be awhile before I come back.

These are definitely not hashbrowns! They are par cooked fries that they calk homefries?! What a joke! I called to complain and they said I could come back and pick up an order of hashbrowns. Super bumbed right now! Don't waist your time on our local cafe...it usually disappoints!
