Absolutely delicious! Candy Apple Café is amazing! The food is priced right, and is so yummy. Their menu is broad and their deserts are all homemade. I couldn't find anything on the menu that I didn't like! The atmosphere is warm and friendly too. The owner, Cheryl is divine! Her and her staff treat everyone that walks through the doors wonderfully! I highly recommend to everyone I know to stop in at Candy Apple Café! Thanks Cheryl, your friend, Sarah P/Skyline Publishing!

The food has always been very good. A great place for breakfast but I've last had great lunches and dinners there too. Great value for your money. Try the chicken quesadilla

Food is always good, I always thought the place needed to be remodeled and I believe they're making changes now so that's a very positive thing however the food is very good prices are reasonable and the owner is very hospitable

Great hidden gem! Mom and pop style family diner, with great food, fast service, and clean. One of regular stops when in town.

I am hesitant to give this review for fear it would make the place more popular and harder to get the corn beef hash, which was the most amazing I have ever had. but it would be unjust to say nothing, so if you like eggs and corned beef hash, it doesn't matter how far away you live, you need to go here. Staff was awesome as well.

Hadn't been in years! Still as amazing as ever. Chicken fingers were enormous. My husband was thrilled. Order was exactly as requested. Excellent customer service!!!

This is a local gem. It's just far enough off the beaten path, but it's not difficult to get to. It's a quaint family restaurant serving simple but very good food with a smile. For a twist, none of the coffee mugs match. Some are from vacation sites, others being business promotional, and some are just obscure names.

Very friendly atmosphere. Very relaxed. The prices are perfect and the portions are hearty. It's pretty open so we get to people watch and see the hustle and bustle. This place is going to get to know us and us them.

Honestly one of the best diners to go to! You get that small town atmosphere as soon as you walk in and the employees are always in a good mood! Food is amazing and not expensive and taste just like a home cooked meal! My family goes to the diner almost every sunday morning and will be going for many years to come!

Outstanding food at more than reasonable prices. Huge menu selection... breakfast, lunch & dinner. Home cooked meals. Daily specials. Great service. If you are looking for atmosphere... don't go here. This is a "well worn" diner, the waitresses remind me of "Rosanne".

Small family restaurant. Wait staff friendly, quick service. Food is always good. Portions are large and often have leftovers to eat the next day. Especially like their turkey dinner which they serve on Tuesdays.

The food is delicious. Atmosphere is a little dated. However, you cannot beat the prices for the quality of the food. I highly Tuesday turkey special. Staff are exceptionally nice as well and have great relationships with their customers. They have variety on their kids menu as well. My daughter loves coming here.

When we arrived the Candy Apple, it was pretty full but there were a few tables and booths empty! The servers did an outstanding job of getting the orders taken and food came out in a timely manner. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Our food arrived hot and everything came as ordered. You get ample sized servings and drinks are refilled during your stay. Prices are fairly reasonable so families can dine here. We had an enjoyable meal.

Quaint little country Cafe near Akron falls. Service was great. Food was even better! My partner and I both had homemade corned beef hash. There was a whole lot more meat in this than there was potatoes it was perfect and delicious! He had a side of pancakes which he said were abundant and delicious I had a side of home fries which were in appearance home cut there. As they were that uniform cubes that you get from a frozen bag of potatoes but rather larger uniform cut choice of onions or no onions. I went with onions. They had gluten-free toast which is a great bonus for me as I have to be gluten free. My partner had rye and said it was very good. Waitresses kept the coffee flowing! I never ran out and I never ran out of creamer! We are planning to come back for lunch or dinner and hike to the falls again. Definitely recommend this place!

My favorite local café! The food is excellent! Plus, it's homemade AND cheaper than McDonald's! Under $10 per person, and we can't even finish the entire meal most of the time. The staff are very polite, and meals are done quickly. The dining room is usually full, but very homey and comfortable. Your typical mom and pop diner, but better!! My family and I eat here often, and have absolutely recommended to others 😀

Candy Apple Cafe is now under new management. The staff is awesome and so friendly and attentive. I've been coming here for years and I really think the food is even better. Do yourself a favor and check them out and you'll be going back frequently. The people are amazing and the food will keep you coming back.

Candy Apple Cafe is a great local diner. We've only been 2x for breakfast but the service is very friendly, quick and accommodating. The food was always delicious and exactly as ordered. Prices are great too for the portion sizes! Has a great home town/locals crowd that seems to recognize everyone that walks through the door! Highly recommend this place!

First time here in a few years. We were really pleased. We were seated right away, order taken promptly. Food was great. Came out hot and relatively fast. Server was amazing. Portions were generous enough for cost.

R

What a nice little cafe, the staff are wonderful the food is fantastic and the price’s are very very reasonable. Their Turkey dinner on Tuesday was excellent with all the trimmings, There is no way your leaving hungry with the size proportion they give you and the pies are homemade.. yummy will be going back for more, I think we found our little place of heaven in the country.

Hadn't been here in years and it was great food at a great price. I got the chicken parm sandwich which was really tasty. This is the rare restaurant where you don't have to break the bank to have a bite to eat. Want just a sandwich or a waffle, you can eat for under $5. You aren't forced to buy a $12 meal that comes with sides that you don't want, like most restaurants these days. I really appreciate that and the options offered. Friendly staff and a cute, intimate atmosphere.

Service was super fast and good! Had the double cheeseburger, sahlem hotdog, and roast beef sandwich. You gotta get the pie too it's to die for. I had the cheery pie and it made my soul leave my body. Will definitely be back!

EVERY time I come here, the place is busy. That ALONE should tell you something. Despite being consistently busy....the wait staff are courteous, pleasant, and responsive. The menu is vast, and I've had nearly* everything on it, at least once. *I am NOT a fan of eggs ANYWHERE, so I can NOT make opinions about their eggs. The cook staff know what they're doing. The food is always at the right temperature, the portions are always generous (for a guy my size to say that, should mean something), and is consistently flavorful. When it comes to pricing, you would be hard-pressed to find a better value for your hard earned dollar. This restuarant is an Akron icon, and is such, because they know Akron is a town where people are family, and money is generally tight. Their prices resemble those not seen in restaurants since the late 90's, early 2000's. In my humble opinion, this 5-star review is well deserved. This place is a GREAT choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

We visit a couple times a month. It's pretty dated inside and standard fare. A local hot spot for a mature crowd. Just walk in and grab a table. Never had a wait. Bathrooms are tiny and in need of renovation (last we checked). There's a small private dining room that may seat up to 20 or so. Last time, there was a birthday party for an 80 y.o. with about 12 people of all ages.

We have never been before, wanted a centralized meeting place with family and Akron is it. We visited and had a great time and great breakfast. "Dunk" Kristina was awesome and super personable. Great amount of conversation and attentiveness. She had great recommendations and was funny! We want to come back for lunch or dinner food. Breakfast was great everything we had. Thanks Akron for having us, we will be back!!!

I came here after hike in Akron falls. We were seated indoors for our Sunday brunch. The sausage with biscuits was marvelous. One the mouth melting pancakes. The waitress was attentive to refill our coffee and give us extra plates to share. The ambience of the place reflected love for the Buffalo city .

I like this place because the prices are reasonable and the food is good. Everyday there is a specials board with about four options. The pies are varied that are homemade. Service is great. It's a small restaurant but nice and comfy and waitresses are friendly and treat nicely.

Food was great. The waitress, not so much. Very inattentive and kinda rude. Brought us our food and didn't come back until we we're done eating. Tossed the check on the table and left. Rude if you ask me.

Been here once probably 15 or so years ago and it hasn’t changed much from what I remember. In this case it’s actually a good thing. Plenty of seating and the food was good but it was a bit cold in there personally.

Surprisingly good. We've been meaning to go there for quite some time and were impressed with not only the food quality but the attentive service as well. "Breakfast as dinner" with soup, omelettes, potatoes and toast came to right around twenty bucks. Can't go wrong!

A
Alexis “Alex” Dent

The food is "greasy spoon" diner fare and if that's what you're looking for it's absolutely fantastic. It's basically the platonic ideal of diner food. You seat yourself, service is fast and personable. Breakfast is not all day. Gluten Free options are available, the 4 of us ate for 40$. Decor is very dated, early 80s browns and tans. Wheelchairs would likely have a tough time getting through the entryway but it is possible.

My best friend is a server there. I hope you get her. Awesome cheap prices and the food is good and homemade. Kids meals are $3.99. My roast beef sandwich and fries was $6.99. Our server sucked and was mass that we came in at 7 o'clock when they closed at 8. Her service sucked but I know the other servers arent crappy like her.

"They didnt hv candy apply tho" Diner with good food option tried "farmer breakfast" after a nice ride was perfect for the 1st time for a good price good ambiance However the server seems had a long day or maybe not in good mood but still good job of checkin on us.

Since Mary's Good and Plenty is now closed in Akron, this place seems to be the next best option for a hearty breakfast on a Saturday morning. The hashbrowns were excellent. I chose the variety with peppers and onions mixed with the potatoes. With some tables blocked off due to social distancing, they were filled nearly to their reduced capacity. Service at breakfast time was quite slow. We arrived before 9:00, were offered coffee about 9:10, and were served at 9:40 - fine if you are having a relaxing morning with friends, but perhaps a problem if you are on a schedule. In our case the food was worth the delay.

The food is always so good at breakfast and lunch time. I figured try dinner item for a change. Maybe I'll stick with breakfast and lunch items. This was the chicken parm. Chicken was cooked perfectly. But the pasta there was barley any sauce. Edit: Candy Apple I saw you replied to my post but it vanished. This was takeout, so i didn't open it because it was in a tied bag.

We wanted to try somewhere different and support a local business. Candy Apple Cafe had some nice reviews and the parking lot was busy (generally a good sign) so we decided to check it out. Once inside we were told to seat ourselves. Our waitress was bubbly and super friendly. The menu had a lot to choose from. The prices were very reasonable. These were some strong positives! The negatives on our visit were mostly on the physical food prep. Where we sat we could see the plates being assembled. I saw a guy preparing without gloves (less hygienic then I would prefer) but more importantly also some him put chips on a customers plate and then take some off and start eating them. I have to admit I did not find that appealing. No hand washing after and then on to the next customers plate. The location is a little dated, but maybe in some way adds to the throwback charm of the Candy Apple Cafe. The food itself was very good and came quick. Were we not disappointed overall, but also felt somewhat disappointed at the same time (based on the above).

B

My sandwich was fine. My partner had the hot turkey sandwich and after waiting a long time it came and was cold. They did nuke it but just not the same. Really slow service.

P
Patti Kuhar

The server was very rude. The home fries and ham were dry and my boyfriend ordered his eggs over easy but they came out scrambled. Overall unimpressed with this place.

W
Wayne Mazurkiewicz

We stopped there after golf and will never go back again. Service was slow and when she brought us our drinks she sniffed three of them because she couldn't remember which drink was which. I ordered a side of onion rings for 4.99 and got a total of 7 rings of which only two were big.

D
Dennis Wetzler

My wife and I used to come here every Friday for the best burger. But now since they were bought out, the prices are just too high. I'm going to miss this place.

B
Bill

Seeing other reviews this place seems a major hit or miss, more often than not. I've been in a few times with my grandmother. I have yet to be impressed in the slightest. You are much better off going up the road a couple miles to Jo'Andys place. The food is very good and the portions are good or better, for the price at Jo'Andys.

S
S. Lee

I am not sure if the server was having a bad day or just a ditz, but not a good experience. My made to order omelette was a big letdown and omelette should not be literally flat maybe 1/2" thick. The menu does not state it but apparently it comes with toast and when the server brought it I said i did not order toast and she stated OH it comes with it and unfortunately it was white, if I had been offered the opportunity I would have ordered wheat. Also we have been gone for seven months and my wife was looking forward to some rope sausage after church but that is now a special and the cost is outrageous. There are too many good places to eat breakfast in Buffalo and we will not be rushing back even-though it is around the corner.

R

We had 2 fish fry today it was the worst meal we ever had The fish was old pink the German potatoe salad was a terrible and cold slaw way to much mayonnaise. The waitress was wonderful. We've been eating there for 15 years or more .we won't be back for fish but maybe for breakfast

L
Lynette Raichel

My daughter and i had breakfast here recently, i had been wanting to try it for awhile. We seated ourselves as we were told we could do, no big deal, but it took several min for our waitress to bring the menus, never asking what we would like to drink when she did, and when i said ty as she put down the menus, she said nothing and walked away. We waited over ten min for her to come back to take our drink order, and listened as she waited quickly on others who came in after us, all along walking right by us for over ten min completely ignoring us! She only had a few tables too, so it wasnt a matter of being swamped. When she did finally decide to take our order she wasnt pleasant at all and once again i nicely said ty, she turned and walked away! The food came out quick, the ONLY good thing, I thanked her again, she said nothing except for a sigh like she was sick of me saying ty, and walked away! There was not even the normal..do you need anything else and/or, enjoy!.. she just turned and walked away. She never checked on us until she saw we were done, but we watched as she checked on everyone else and was pleasant to them! We finished rather soon, maybe within 20 min, spending most of the time talking about the food and service and what should we do bcuz you couldnt even eat most of our breakfast as it was absolutely disgusting!..but we didnt want to make waves per say..we already had an attitude from her for whatever reason. I've never had such terrible food in my life honestly. I paid 20.00 for two breakfasts we could only muster down very little of! Idk if its all regulars there and they dont "take to new faces" or what, but i cant think of any reason for the rude behavior from her. I know as a former waitress years ago that your tips are most of your pay! So if you want to make money, you kinda need to be friendly!..and you just should anyway, your in hospitality! And if you cant treat everyone pleasantly and your going to look absolutely miserable waiting on someone, you need to find a different job, really. I couldnt have been more polite, so i did not deserve to be treated like that, or my daughter. I usually give all the benefit of the doubt bcuz you never know what is going in with someone but when you can see and hear its only toward you, what the heck. And whoever cooked that day, they need cooking lessons badly!

L
Lynn Sinsebox

Wow. Never again. Waited forever for food that was not very good. Got to listen to a waitress bad mouth the kitchen staff to customers, calling them clowns and telling the customers they'd never get their food. Then same waitress got in a loud verbal argument with a cook in front of everyone. No management seemed to be present to take control. On verge of walking out when our food finally arrived. Over all, very disappointed and will never return.

Just left there had beef stew it was disgusting wish I took pic as it looked as bad as it was. If I had a dog I would not have let him eat it. Used to love the cafe ..nomore also closes at 7 pm no not stop serving at 7 they ask you to leave at 7 not sure i have ever been to a restaurant (thats open for dinner) and closes at 7 and I'm 66 goodbye candy apple you won't be around long

Went in this afternoon to grab a couple of desserts to go. First, the cashier shorted me ten dollars in change. Then, got home and they sold us a piece of moldy bread pudding. Not to mention that the staff was somewhat rude to us. We used to love this place, but sadly, it just isn't the same anymore.

C

Ordered online, trying to find a new restaurant to order from in Akron. I ordered the fried chicken, it was awful, burnt on the outside, like it had been fried twice. The inside was slimy and pink. I threw it out, a long side the canned green beans and not homemade mashed potatoes. I will not order from here again. I felt that the chicken was old and refried, neither time cooking it through.

R
Rhonda Burdick

Wish you could select "0" stars. The food is only OK, the service depends on the waitress that you get. However, the price was absolutely ridiculous. We got charged $7.77 for a side of bacon, sausage and ham. This only included two small pieces of bacon, two small pieces of sausage and a small piece of ham. When we received our bill, we were floored. The side dishes cost twice the amount of our meal. For the amount of money that it cost us to eat there, we could've gone to the Olive Garden and had a feast. At least the food, service and cleanliness would have been better and worth the price. Will NEVER eat there again.

I forgot to do this the night I ate there so I’ll do it now….Wow….disappointing I use to come here for so long and it would be a lovely restaurant. I’m gonna start off by saying the waitresses where amazing so nice always checked in and where very pleasant to talk with but, the whole time I was there the cooks would constantly yell at the waitresses and nonstop bitching, the food was good, my wife got the lasagna from there she said it tasted like the worst lasagna she’s ever had. Also the place was gross the floor was sticky flys everywhere. Man maybe I just had a bad experience but it’ll be awhile before I come back.

These are definitely not hashbrowns! They are par cooked fries that they calk homefries?! What a joke! I called to complain and they said I could come back and pick up an order of hashbrowns. Super bumbed right now! Don't waist your time on our local cafe...it usually disappoints!
