Saigon 2 Alameda Reviews
Affordable Pho and a good price , had the spring roll (6) and the pho excellent flavors would definitely come here to try other stuff off the menu
Delicious food. What can I say? Delicious, affordable, light, lot's of vegetables, easy on the stomach, friendly service, plenty of parking, love the outdoor seating area, not much of a fan on the indoor seating area, the fluorescent lights give me a headache but otherwise delicious. 9.5/10, I would definitely come back here again. Thank you Saigon #2. Keep up the delicious food and great work!
Pretty nice little spot. Tried pho dac biet which was light and a little sweet but tasty nonetheless. Sitting outside, a bit of wind definitely cooled the bowl down quickly so feel like I should give it another try sometime. Banh xeo was fantastic, I loved that the crepe itself had some thickness to it unlike sometimes before at other places I had the dish and it has been thin and almost crackery. The garlic noodles with pork are so delicious and generously served. I also liked this place's ca phe su da I felt like it had a deep rich coffee flavor. I enjoyed sitting out on the covered deck of the restaurant though annoying drivers revving engines and speeding down the road do impact the ambiance. The service was nice, quick and friendly. Thanks!
I've been feeling a little under the weather and wanted some good soup to soothe my sore throat. We got some beef pho, a banh mi, and the fried chicken and rice plate. The pho broth was savory and not too sweet, which is just how I like it. The beef was good quality, as were the herbs and veggies that go into the soup. The banh mi was in the top 5 or 10 I've ever had, with surprisingly good meat and pate. The fried egg on top was icing on the cake. Haven't eaten the fried chicken plate yet, but it looks awesome and I can't wait for dinner now!
Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. A lot of Vietnamese classic dishes on the menu. I got the beef stew with bread and the stew was flavorful and the bread amazingly crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Staff was helpful and on top of service.
This small mom n pop restaurant has excellent Vietnamese food. They’re also very nice and accommodating of special requests. I normally get a beef ceviche (goi bo tai chanh) and this is one of the few places that makes it in the area. Tonight I had shaken beef cube plate with rice and vegetables. My companion had the pork version. Both were delicious. We also had the spring rolls with shrimp which were very fresh. The satay sauce was freshly made and delicious. I also had the lemonade, which I requested to be more sour than sweet. It was delicious with a little mint leaf in it. There is an outside patio with seating as well as some larger tables inside where we’ve been with up to 8 people.
I love coming here, especially on colder days or early afternoons when it's not hot. The food is amazing. The best Pho I have had. I always get a large number 35 with tripe and steak, and a side of noodles.

We love this little restaurant. We had tofu Banh Mi, grilled chicken Banh Mi and grilled chicken vermicelli! All were very good and you can’t beat the price esp for the Banh Mi!
I love this place! The bhan mi combo is rad! Upgrade it to a Vietnamese coffee! You won't regret it 👌❤️❤️❤️10/10
Super legit food. The banh mi sandwiches are delicious and my wife is in love with their bun bo hue. All at a price you can’t beat. Highly recommend visiting here if you’re looking for a good Vietnamese fix!
I had a really nice meal, portions were generous and everything felt homemade, which I appreciate. Also, the staff were friendly and the service was quick.
This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve tried in the East Bay. I took my family visiting from abroad and they love the food. My daughter recommended the catfish sour soup and Banh Xeo. They are so delicious. Outstanding customer service from Kim and her mom.
Saigon 2 Restaurant offers a variety of delicious Vietnamese dishes, with my personal favorites being sour fish soup (canh chua cá) and caramelized braised fish (cá kho tộ). These dishes are rich in authentic Vietnamese flavors that are simply unforgettable. If you come here even once, you’ll truly enjoy the experience. The restaurant is clean, the staff are very attentive, and they always respect their customers.

No. 9. Crispy crepes was so delicious! 🤩🤩🤩 Everyone is so nice! Definitely will come back The outdoor seating is super cute as well!
The food here is absolutely delicious and full of flavor! The prices are very affordable, which makes it even better. The owner is incredibly friendly and kind — it really made the experience feel warm and welcoming. I will definitely come back many more times. Highly recommended!
yummy garlic noodles for killer price and 10/10 thai tea 🤤🧄
Combo beef pho hit the spot — I really like that they give you more than just one slice of lemon. Makes the broth so much tastier. Cool outdoor seating, plenty of parking — I’ll definitely be back again.
Food was pretty good. The restaurant has a pretty nicely spaced outdoor seating area under a canopy. The food arrived fast and no complaints. Off street parking available.

Tasty. The only thing is I cannot order the Pho with UNCOOKED NOODLES so I can take it to home and separate it into 2 servings, small eater here. You come here for the food, nothing to impress a date.
As others have noted, the food is terrific! Fresh ingredients, generous servings with excellent flavors. During my visit, the service was borderline terrible. No one took my order after seating me with a menu. After waiting about 10 minutes, I finally hunted down the waitress and ordered. The food came relatively quickly; however, she brought no eating utensils. After waiting a while for her to come back, I finally found one of the few tables recently vacated that had utensils and condiments and brought them back to my table. I noted that several other patrons were having a similar experience. After that, the food was delicious.

Not my cup of tea is probly what I can say about this place. Everything is on the sweeter side. Be it the Viet coffee, or the pho itself. The fried shrimp is also a bit sweet due to the coconut butter which I did not enjoy. Not much sauce on the breakfast plate either.
My review is based on this first visit. The restaurant is near Kaiser in San Leandro. And the place has a parking lot. This place is old but tables look clean. The food is not bad either so will plan on coming back. My only complaint is with the basil leaves. They were served old, withering and losing their color. Walk to the front and pay. There's no sign.
