Love coming here, one of my favorite to stop by it’s like my 10th time Friendly staff and lots good options. The complimentary peanut salad and the cream puffs. I saw new items added and looks good to try out.

A little high on prices, and the menu was could have more, but the quality and the atmosphere with the music was on point.

I loved this place and am grateful I got enjoy it. If you're into Samurai, art, and collectible figurines, then you're in for a nice bonus as well. The food was smelled so good that I ate immediately and forgot to take pictures of it. I definitely recommend the Sobba roll of you're not scares off by eel. It was DELICIOUS! All the food was delicious. I did manage to walk around like I was in an art gallery and snap some pictures tho.

Solid Japanese comfort food done right. Super cute decor inside with TVs playing Anime and small figurines everywhere. Danny Yuen and Neo from Matrix was in my corner. 🔥 The chicken katsu curry hit exactly how it should: crispy cutlet, rich curry in a separate bowl on the side, fluffy rice, easy to finish. The Wakame salad was served in a large portion. The 49ers roll was simple and great, salmon and lemon over a California roll. Nothing flashy. Just consistent, satisfying, and worth coming too for a bright friendly vibe.

Yojimbo offers some of the best service in Alameda. The restaurant is clean, quick, and welcoming, making it a great place to grab a meal whether you’re dining solo or coming in with a large group. The atmosphere is especially fun—the artwork, action figures, and Japanese anime movies are incredibly entertaining and add so much personality to the space. We ended up staying for over two hours, ordering more food here and there, and the staff never once made us feel rushed or that we were being annoying. At one point, my brother thought he had lost his wallet in the restaurant, and the staff were incredibly helpful and eager to assist him in looking for it. Thankfully, he found it—with everything still inside—which really speaks to the care and integrity of the place. The bathrooms are clean, and the menus include pictures, which makes it easy and enjoyable for kids to read and choose their own meals. Overall, it’s a comfortable, family-friendly spot with outstanding service.

Ladies and gentlemen, the art here is jaw dropping and the antique-culture matching toy displays match the witty-youthful asian style. You will have fund finding the genre you grew up with. We both had ramen and it did not disappoint. Perfect ramen for the chilly or down days that will bring your spirits back up. Seating on two levels with lounging sofas on the second floor. Layout is deep and away from the front door.

Would definitely come back for the bento box, I felt the quantity and quality ratio to price was fantastic, me and the person I was eating with was expecting the bill to be around $80+ but was $60. The noodles and broth wasn't bad either but I wish they gave us more meat, not sure I would order noodles again for that reason.

This is a cute restaurant with friendly staff and good fairly priced food! We all got different Bento’s and appreciated the variety you could choose from. The 23rd st roll was bomb!

I love Yojimbo! I go by myself, with a friend, or the whole family visiting from out of town! It’s my go-to place for birthday celebrations. My favorite rolls are 49er, Mad Max and Summer Roll. The artwork on the walls, the gracious service, plus now they have dessert! I love how the plat Studio Gibli movies on the tv with the sound off. It’s a way to soak in the magical mystical animation but not be distracted by loud television. Bring kids! My nephew always want to go to Yojimbo when he visits.

✨️ Yojimbo and Gallery 🖼 I've been wanting to come to this new location since it opened. I had always eaten at the old location on Park Street, it's a hidden gem. Too bad they closed that spot, but I can see why they are keeping the new location. 💎 This new location is bigger and more spacious. All the art pieces and figurines that were in the smaller location are pretty much here and spread out. I love all the arts and decorations. If you love art, sashimi, and bento boxes then this is the place to be! 🖼🍣🍱 My best friend and I ordered the Salmon Teriyaki, Shrimp, and Vegetable Tempura bento boxes. 🍤 The Shrimp and Tempura bento box portion was huge and generous. The Salmon Teriyaki bento box has sauce on the side which was great, so you're able to put the amount as needed. We also ordered the sashimi which was fresh and delicious. At the end of our meal, they give out complimentary cream puffs or Cremé-filled donuts. 🔥 I'm so glad we came here for our birthdays! 🎂🎉 The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We definitely will come back again and again!! 😍 Btw: The address here is 2319, reminds me of Monsters Inc. IYKYK 😂🧦

Great restaurant with wonderful Japanese-style paintings by the restaurant owner. I like their Yojimbo roll and donkatsu bento! It has a gallery on the second floor, too!

I absolutely LOVE Yojimbo! Their pork katsu curry is hands down one of the best I’ve ever had—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with rich curry sauce. Every bite is pure comfort food happiness. On top of that, they serve free miso soup with the meal, which makes it feel extra special and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they really care about their customers. The portions are generous, the flavors are spot on, and the atmosphere is casual yet cozy. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to whenever I’m craving katsu curry!🤩🤩💗

Just found out that they had relocated to a new location a few blocks away from the original location. Came in during lunch, it wasn't very busy, may be some people was having a hard time locating the new location. Probably did not bother reading the notice posted at the door at the old location like I did. The new place was more spacious, seem very clean, and bright, but some what under staff may be. I ordered only nigiri. What stood out first was actually the sushi rice, it was aldente texture, and taste just right amount of seasoning, or just very enjoyable, not too vinegary or sweet. Next was the fish and sushi ratio was much better than the old place, wider cut of fish, but still bite size for me. The fish was fresh. The squid nigiri especially had a nice crunch, and sweet taste, i would say that I love this the most. The Tai or snapper wasn't as crunchy in texture as I was hoping for, but it was still good, and tasty. Hamachi was buttery, and tasty as always. The salmon came with a small piece of lemon that made it so refreshing when bite in to, but not over powering. The octopus got good texture, and mild sweetness. The Ikura or salmon role was good, not overly salty, and overpowering like some place, and it didnt taste fishy either, I like it. Finally, the scallop, was meatty, sweet, nutty, and good. It also came with a creamy sauce that was supposed to be spicy, but it was not spicy, it wasn't overly overpowering, but I did not care for the fatty flavor on my scallop. If I every order scallop again, I am going to ask them to not add any fatty sauce on them, not a good combination for me. Thankfully they didn't added too much of the sauce, I just want a simple scallop nigiri. The miso soup was hot, good amount of salt to wash my taste bud, and I enjoyed it. The staff also gave me a complimentary salad with a miso sauce that was quite enjoyable, and a fried donut with a buttery cream filling, the donut was fluffy, and pair so well with the buttery cream. I probably wont ever drive far for sushi every again, ill just have to walk a little farther from my laundry place to get my sushi fix from now on since their quality seem to be much better than before.

A super wonderful environment. I couldn't believe when I walked in what this place was going to be like. There's some art gallery upstairs. The service is really friendly and wonderful. The prices are right. The food is great. I was really surprised at a place like this exists in Alameda. Really a diamond in the rough. A wonderful wonderful dining experience.

Spacious sitting area. Great art work. The chicken Katsu was lightly breaded and very tender inside. Tempura was tasty. Lots of options for combos. Ramen was tasty but wish the soup a little hotter temperature. The miso soup was also not hot and only lukewarm. Best thing was the cream donuts as desserts on the house. It was so good that I bought several more bigger size donuts to go. The strawberry flavor ones were excellent.

Great spot, a little difficult finding street parking tho. Interior is whimsical with lots of anime figurine display and black ink drawings on the walls. Food is fantastic, tho on the pricey side. Service was good, not great, especially if you catch them on a shift change like we did.

This is the main Yojimbo, different feel than its partner. This location is better for larger groups that don’t like the smaller location. I prefer the smaller one, had a nostalgic feel. Up for interpretation. I ordered the same dish as I did in the previous location; however, it wasn’t the same feel. Also I had to wait a bit at the door, someone else did as I was walking out. Other than that, everything was fine. Check it out. The art is amazing. The collectables and figures had a unique feel. Enjoy

The rice was overcooked and not seasoned; $12 for 6 pieces is outrageous. Used to come here often, sad to see the quality drop. Cool atmosphere for bad sushi is not worth it.

If I could give zero stars for the food, I would. The decor is very cute. The service is OK. The salad dressing is good. The rest of the food was awful. All the rolls were falling apart. Every roll was too big and sloppy. A combination of crappy rice (dry, unseasoned and no vinegar) and fundamental mistakes. This is just careless sushi operation. The meal was comparable to prepackaged, store bought sushi. Even the ginger sucked. The donuts were tasty but tough…. Donut jerky
