Gave a free sparkling water when we only ordered one :)

The store is a bit small. Looks more like a to go place. Take out only. There was no wait. Cashless payment by credit card is available. Ordered on the spot took and it took about 5 mins. This place is legit, it’s exactly something you can find in Thailand. Their ginger rice is so aromatic and tasty. Their sauce is also really good on rice. Natcha was helpful and nice. Chicken in soup with spinach was also delicious. Super flavorful. Chicken was tender and juicy. I highly recommend this place for Thai chicken rice (khao man gai) would go back if I was ever in the neighborhood.

Order via uber eats . Easily to be the best chicken rice in SF for me ! Love that staff always pay attention for my special request . Even they increase the price but still cheaper than other places , especially when you compare the quality and the portion of the food ! Keep it up guys !

I accidentally found this restaurant on my way to the Japanese garden. I ordered a traditional chicken rice and it was certainly delicious like eating this plate in Thailand. Sorry for taking this picture during the middle of my lunch.

I'm a big fan of the chicken and rice dish thats getting more and more traction! This place does a good job! Quick and easy service. Rice is key to this dish and the rice was great! Sauce was on point as well. Super garlicky as it should be! Glad this place is around. They were super nice and I hope this place flourishes in this spot.

I'm rating this a 4.7, however Google does not give a me this option I must choose 5, as it is obviously not a fine dining 4.7 is the highest I can rate this wonderful establishment.....its cleanliness is above expectations always. The service is absolutely fantastic, fast, quick. The food is honestly the best tasting and feeling food, for it's simplicity is actually wonderfully complex and delicious... Definitely the cleanest, freshest place on Haight st, upper or lower districts ...

Originally I ordered the chicken and rice soup and it lacked of flavour. However, What The Cluck reached out to ensure that my needs were met. They offered me the Classic Khao Man Gai free of charge and it did not disappoint. The chicken was tender, and the rice was cooked to perfection. When combined with the sauce it made for an enjoyable meal. Thank you for the meal

First timer here and the food blew is away, in a fabulous way 🎉 Simple menu, and food is simply unpretentious and delicious. Chicken white meat based menu, paired with soup and rice. It's clean, it's tasteful, it's just good. If you're in this neighborhood you should give this place a try! 🤩🍲🌈👋

A no frills fast food joint that specialized in one thing - chicken and rice. The chicken was tender and the rice was pretty tasty. Was a little disappointed their thai milk tea was a bottled version. Their washroom was a bit dirty and acted as a storage room. All and all, if you want a quick bite this is the place to go

no frills takeout only spot with a few chairs/tables to sit down. food was pretty good and came out quickly. the mixed chicken combo with two desserts was also very affordable at $15/pp post tax and tip! we ordered the mixed chicken combo and they originally gave us just hainan chicken but were quick to fix the issue. appreciate the service. mixed chicken combo: hainan chicken, katsu chicken, rice, and broth were the standouts! also loved the sauce for the chicken mango sticky rice: classic dessert and exactly what i expected. good but not mindblowing thai pudding with coconut topping: surprisingly enjoyed this dessert. reminds me of maja blanca a filipino dessert!

Apparently "healthy" means seasoning free. it was dead silent, the air was thick with oil and must, and the food wasn't even salted. I got the chicken katsu and it was crunchy enough, but again, no seasoning. it came with a sweet and sour sauce, and that was the only source of flavor in the whole everything. I also got mango sticky rice. it was proudly flavor free and chronically overcooked to a sad conglomerate block. this place is a definite skip for me.

I don't think anything was seasoned. Look at the photos of the non breaded chicken, it tastes exactly how it looks: bland and boiled. How is this considered Thai food? Sixteen dollars for a plate of chicken and rice with no flavor. Even the hot sauce tasted like it came out of a can. 2 stars for it being edible, at least it didn't taste bad and I didn't get sick

This place is disturbingly bad. The food requires barely any skills. You and me can definitely make it ourselves. The soup was good, and the rice was not bad, but the price is unreasonable. The logo and name was creative and cool tho, which is what drew me in initially, but it’s sad they couldn’t do better with the food itself…

This place has decline lately. The chicken was dry and the service poor. The guy making the chicken sits in the back using his cell phone and then touches the chicken with his bare hands. Have to use a machine to order and get slapped with a “processing fee” and then a standard tip using dark patterns. Used to be a favorite but now it’s a hard pass

I've been coming here for years and this place used to be good. However the last few months something is definitely changed and it's only ever the same one guy working there that other reviews have mentioned. He acts like he's bothered by customer orders. The last time we went we ordered pickup via door dash and on arrival he said he was out of chicken. Then we told him we already paid, so he said in an annoyed tone that he can make it but come back in 10 minutes. Then we got home and ate it and got pretty sick. I'd avoid this place, there's much better options in the area that won't give you attitude and food poisoning.

We should have read the reviews here before coming but we definitely got scammed. There was only one guy working here and he refused to let us use the restroom after we ordered - my sister was in a rush and I asked to cancel our order instead. He insisted that it was impossible to cancel an order and refused to do so, so we just left and we’ll have to file a dispute with the credit card company. But we definitely got scammed and he still refused to give us our money back despite not giving us our food :(

E
Erica Lin

I went in with my sister and after we paid at the kiosk, we asked if there was a bathroom. He said there was none so we asked if we could refund it and eat somewhere with a restroom. (Not having a restroom violates the California AB1017 public restroom: rights to restroom act of 2021) He threw the receipt at us and told us to refund it at the kiosk. (Not sure if the kiosk even has that function) He was unpleasant to talk to and refused to refund us even though he didn’t make the food. He insisted he didn’t know how to refund us. He quite literally scammed us. Would not be returning.

We walked in and noticed it was one guy working but no customers in the restaurant. We were waiting for him to come talk us as to pay in cash. The guy looks at us before before going back on his phone for another 10 mins. We finally ask him to talk to us and said we wanted to order. He had the blankest look on his face. Not a single word was said by him before wiping his nose with his bare hands. We left after that and won't be coming back.

L

Went in to order and it was dead. The guy seemed like he didn't even want to interact. I had my card in my hand ready to pay and he asked if I had cash. When told him no he begrudgingly started tapping on the screen and keep saying my order over and over again. He then wiped his nose with his hand. And his hand had a bunch of white stuff on it. Not sure exactly what it was but at that point I wasn't ordering from there. While he was still plugging away I just said I would get cash and left. I don't think I'll go back there.

Ordered and paid to eat there, got my food, and only after giving me my food did they tell me that they’re “closed early for dine-in” and I’d have to leave. Not only that, but she was rude about it and told me it was my fault for not asking. Why would I assume otherwise? The place was still open, no chairs were up, and she didn’t ask me if I wanted to dine in or takeout. 0/10 wouldn’t return due to this interaction.

I ordered online for pickup. Their ordering system told me the order would be ready in 30 minutes. I asked them about my order and they asked for proof of the order which was on my computer, not on my phone. Their ordering system did not send me confirmation over text or email. They said they couldn’t do anything. Going to issue a chargeback and not return here.
