Haven Lounge Albans Reviews
My Salmon Pappardelle Pasta was very satisfying. Our waiter Timothy suggested the cook on my Salmon and it was the perfect choice. Job well done Tim! The Burger was devoured and the Burrata was paired perfectly with a dressing they added. Absolutely scrumptious! The ambiance is perfect. It’s a beautiful restaurant, comfortable seating, clean and great customer care from everyone.
An amazing time at the Russian River Brewing Company tasting. Super organized. Met great friends and fun atmosphere.
Was here for the Younger release and it was amazing. The was the line was handle was amazing. The good was epic and would come back your that. Then you take in the beer list, yup, I'm in. Cheers
absolutely delicious food!! we had a couple beer flights and shared the pesto pasta, risotto, and corn bread and everything was divine!! our server ryan was very attentive and kind as well.
I am surprised their score isn’t a 5. I have been coming here for over 10 years, multiple times throughout the year and have never had a bad experience. Their food has always been fantastic and I am very particular about food quality. Also, they have the best ice cream in the Orange circle and maybe in OC. I’m an ice cream person, and their homemade ice cream blew me away. I was not expecting that. Go to this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
The food was spectacular, the drinks well made and the service was great! We stared off strong with the cornbread, and mac & cheese. We still talk about how amazing the cornbread with the honey butter was. Our main dishes were delectable, and ended off the night with the toffey pudding. We all agreed that it is a hidden gem of a dessert, it is decadently sweet and just perfect with the ice cream scoop. We will be coming back to this establishment to try out more of their amazing food.
First time here! My wife heard Haven was donating 100% of this night’s proceeds to help those in L.A. during the fires. We both ordered the Fried Jidori Chicken sandwich and it was big and flavorful! It was juicy and messy. We also discovered they have one of our favorite beers (Pliny the Elder) on draft! 🙌🏽 Service was good and we’ll definitely be back.
Haven always has a wonderful atmosphere along with very Fine Dining & Imbibing! *Updated September 2024* GoodTimes & GoodVibes Zone That was in 2005 when opened. So happy Haven survived all the challenges cuz they are now an Orange Circle 🟠 institution for food & beverage. Or just enjoy the epic people watching while sharing sum pate ( creative take on toasted baguette 🥖 is so refined) & wine🍷. Bar area is great for some Mac Red Cask. Well known for Super Delicious and original hamburger 🍔 's but truly has full menu of several options & many specials. But the burger awards 1st put on map. Really like the blue cheese burger with fried 🍳 egg 🥚 on top. As mention very creative fare 🍽️ 👍 Among best Old Towne Orange 🍊 has 2 offer. Cuisine is California Fresh & Healthy combined w/ old world entree's. Chefs use all kinds of methods with contemporary tools and cutlery 🍴. Menu is ever evolving due to excellent Management and Chefs. Per usual on last visit We were greeted immediately & had wonderful experiences w/ all Staff. ..very competent & eager to exceed expectations. At all levels the Staff is smiling and eager to please. Outside stellar table for people watching and dining! Stoked...Ty:)) The craft beer selection was very impressive and the Bar area Staff was very friendly & extremely educated... almost sommelier level. Try the Macallan Rare Cask at very top shelf....large variety of high-end spirits & Bartenders are very skilled at making creative cocktails and serving just the right drink when it's bartenders choice...never disappoint. The menu was varied and had some unique options. The food was very good and especially enjoy sharing several appetizers to share. Entrees are well prepared & scrumptious. The prices are reasonable for Old Towne Orange 🍊 Plaza ⏺️ Square Historical 📃 District @ Orange Circle 🟠. Parking lot in rear. Also street parking 🅿️ in front as well on Glassell Street or Almond Ave. Also 2 City of Orange free parking lots within walking distance. Overall HIGHLY RECOMMEND 'Haven Craft Kitchen' for anyone looking for trendy spot to eat or imbibe in Orange. Elegant Bar area that allows for watchN sports & lots of outdoor seating. Epic food, drink, friends, and people watching all in 1 spot. Enjoy bSafebHappybWell 🤙
Excellent food, had a good variety of dishes, had the Burger and it was exceptional it was a CRAFT burger , the hand made Salmon pasta was also on point with a spicy pesto. The beer selection is superior to most restaurants, The New Zealand is almost buttery with texture and brimmed with flavour. The rice beer was perfect for a thirst quencher, and the pilsner followed perfectly.
Haven is the gem of the Orange Circle, epic is saying quite a lot because there are a few delicious restaurants tucked away in the circle. O Sea, Gabbi’s, and Smoqued are also great for their respective styles, but Haven is the king of the hill. The attention to detail and preparation of their plates is on another level. The chicken liver toast is my favorite item on their menu and is a wonderfully creative dish. Thick cut french bread covered with chicken liver pate and topped with roasted strawberries and pickled mustard seeds. Some other standouts are their black truffle mac, duck confit, and octopus. They have the staples like a great hangar steak, but Haven really shines when they are doing what most restaurants cannot. One bummer that I just found last night is that they don’t do a complimentary birthday dessert! It’s a weird choice that I don’t agree with, but the rest of the restaurant is fantastic.
Old Town Orange may be one of my new favorite spots. Really get that nostalgic feel while you’re there. My only hang up was parking. But that’s nothing a restaurant can’t change and we did go mid day on a Saturday. The restaurant itself however was fantastic. There food was presented beautifully and the taste matched. They have a good selection of cocktails. If I were to make one critique of the establishment itself is there the menu was much smaller than what we saw online. I believe that’s because of the current times but I can’t be sure. Possibly they switch the menu regularly would also be another reason. At the end of the day it was good, but if it’s too busy there are other places in the town they looked promising too.
This review is mostly for food. Service was slow, although we were in a busy time. We waiting about 15 mins for cocktails, but food was right on time. Everything came out hot and was excellently prepared. Menu is a bit typical for places now-a-days... But the presentation and execution we're great. I really enjoyed the pretzel and Brussels, but the honey and ground mustard didn't seem to pair all that well as it was a little too sweet for my pallet. Overall, everything was joyous and had no complaints about the staff attitude or knowledge base. I would definitely go again, and plan to soon. Can't beat the menu prices and specialty cocktails. Enjoy!!
We love this place, my wife and I met here and we always go back for the sticky toffee pudding! But this last time we went our waiter was rude and almost seemed annoyed to serve us. It wasn't busy, it was Jan 1st. He forgot one of our drinks and was very short with us. Everyone else there is always cheery and helpful. He was not, Super weird. The food and drinks were great though, as always.
Casual restaurant with global dishes. Came here for brunch with my relatives and had a reservation made in advance. Indoor and outdoor seating available. I had the salmon Benedict which came with a side of potatoes. My boyfriend liked his burger, which he was able to change from blue to cheddar cheese. The chicken and waffle was crunchy and a nice mix of sweet and slightly spicy. We split the raspberry chocolate mousse for dessert; I didn’t love the peanut sprinkles and it was heavier on the raspberry but it wasn’t too sweet, which was good. Our waiter was nice but slow in filling our waters and getting our items. Overall it was a casual place to have a meal for a big group.
Haven Craft is a bustling, contemporary restaurant in the heart of Orange. The host stand had a few issues finding and crediting us for our OpenTable reservation, and the service slacked a little toward the end of our meal, but in general it’s an inviting space with good food. The octopus dish was well cooked, albeit more of a tapas size than a main, and the arancini, cornbread, and sticky-toffee pudding were all delicious.
My girlfriend and I came here for a nice meal and had a great time. Customer Service: Waiter was friendly, kind, and offered some solid suggestions on items to order. Location: Nice and safe area known as the Orange Circle. Parking: Ample parking behind the restaurant. Cleanliness: Clean restaurant and restroom.
The food was delicious but the service was off. We went at slow time so there was barely anyone else in the restaurant but the server took a long time to greet us and bring us water. They never refilled our waters and we had to watch him reset the empty restaurant till we could get his attention to pay the bill. It was unfortunate because the food was good. I’d recommend trying the chicken pate.
It was not a good experience for me. My chicken fried steak seemed WAY too fried. Their diet cola had a "flowery" taste to it. I will say, the Avocado and Toast was really good. Their cornbread qas to die for. However, our food took forever to arrive. My wife's Ceasar salad had WAY too much cheese. Overall, just not a good experience for us.
The restaurant looked great and had amazing reviews, so I decided to stop by while passing. I sat alone at the bar, but the two bartenders didn’t take my order for over 10 minutes — they were too busy talking with other staff. It wasn’t even busy, yet no one seemed to notice me. Hard to believe a place like this has such good reviews. Not a good spot if you’re dining alone at the bar. Really disappointing experience.
Avoid Haven Craft Kitchen + Bar. They have officially hit rock bottom. I’ve been a loyal regular here for years, but after my last experience, I am done. I made the mistake of bringing out-of-town guests here and spent the entire walk over bragging about how great this place was. I was utterly embarrassed. To the bartender, Tony: I know for a fact you can make a real Penicillin, so serving me a glass of glorified lemonade is an insult. It was so pathetic I had to tell the server I was leaving and to take the drink back—it left that bad of a taste in my mouth. I used to swear by the Pappardelle and Bread Pudding, but the kitchen and bar have clearly checked out. Don’t waste your time or your reputation bringing people here. I certainly won’t be back.
If you're looking for a restaurant that truly challenges your preconceptions about food safety, book a table here immediately. My Caesar salad featured what I can only describe as "chicken tartare". The strips were pink, gelatinous, and so rare they hadn't finished reading the menu. This level of dedication to moisture retention is truly appalling. The $26 hamburger, marketed as being "engineered to touch all 6 of your tastebuds," was the main disaster of the evening. In reality, it was a perfectly uniform, catastrophic mush that defied both logic and gravity. I’m fairly certain the engineering process involved a blender and a prayer. But the real star of the show was the structural element: the wooden skewer holding this sloppy monstrosity together gave my father a complimentary finger splinter. Our server was kind but if you’re hungry I’d skip Haven’s. Save your money and protect your hands, you deserve a meal that doesn't physically fight back.
