It was my third time at the Bar so I took a friend last Friday Night and Sebastian the Bartender was providing a great service. The coconut espresso martini was so good! 😊
Parkerrrrrr has been the best ever we love her and I wouldn’t come here if she wasn’t here. Sooooo fun!!! Everything is amazing
Parker was a wonderful event host! The space was spacious. Dancy. Most social. This is where I go to meet people.
So sad tonight:( I love the ditty! Been coming to Karaoke Mondays for a while but took a drinking break for January. Came out for some dry jan karaoke cause I’ve missed it and found out they cancelled it indefinitely! Great place but super bummed about my fave Monday night activity:/ love the staff love the bar but I’m disappointed:(( Please bring it back!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Paco is the man. From the moment we sat down, he was welcoming, attentive, and knew exactly what to recommend .Great vibes, strong drinks, and friendly bartenders. Music was on point. If you’re looking for a lively late-night spot, this is it. Security and staff kept things smooth and enjoyable all night.
The Ditty Bar — Astoria, Queens The Ditty is a really good neighborhood bar, the kind of place that immediately makes you feel comfortable settling in. It has an easy, familiar energy that works whether you are stopping in for one drink or planning to stay awhile. The Old Fashioned is excellent. It is balanced, thoughtful, and clearly hand crafted rather than rushed. I personally prefer one large cube instead of several smaller ones, but even so, it is one of the better versions you will find in the area and is consistently well made. The vibe inside is relaxed and welcoming without trying too hard. Cute but not precious, lively but never chaotic. The bartenders know what they are doing and seem genuinely happy to be there, which adds to the overall feel of the place. I have not tried the food yet, but the Cubano empanadas are always tempting and sound like exactly the right pairing with a cocktail. One detail I really appreciate is that they keep Don Q Coconut in stock. It feels intentional and personal, the kind of choice that tells you someone is paying attention. Their happy hour is another highlight. A ten dollar Old Fashioned that is this well executed is a great deal and an easy reason to stop in regularly. In the summer, the backyard becomes the main attraction. It feels like the perfect spot for long evenings, easy conversation, and losing track of time in the best way.
Amazing spot, had the most fun night out with friends. Really awesome staff too, Charlotte and the rest of the crew were great.
We had a private event here at the end of August and couldn't have been happier with every element of the planning and execution of the party. The backyard space comfortably fit our 50 guests and never felt too warm or overcrowded. The staff made sure food and drinks came out on time and quickly, and the food was so good we had to order more! Planning was beyond simple and priced incredibly well - Katie, the manager, made the whole process seamless and worked within the budget we provided for her, and honestly went above and beyond our expectations. 100/10 would host an event here again!
Local Astoria bar with great pours. I was just there for happy hour and honestly did not get the bartender’s name however she was very gracious and professional. Drinks all came out on point though I was not able to try any food. Im sure the bar bites is equally impressive. Definitely a great local watering hole.
Hot spot on Ditmars any given day of the week! My friend and I came on a Thursday for an embroidery class that was given by Caitlyn from Lemon water studios. The class was in the covered outdoor area in the back. It started at 6:30pm which meant that the sun started to set on us early on into the class and it kinda hindered our eyesight with the needle and thread embroidery business going on so we had to make use of little lamps that were given to us. It was a fun event that I would definitely recommend. We enjoyed mojitos and Korean bbq chicken sandwiches with fries…..yum!
I love The Ditty. Good for happy hour (you can get a classic cocktail for 10), movie screenings in the patio weekly, uplifting atmosphere, late night food (the kitchen goes through last call)and very nice staff. There’s a Mexican street style corn that’s is my favorite. Is good for groups and dates, birthdays (went there on mine).
I cannot say enough good things about The Ditty and it’s amazing staff. I was looking for a place to host my 26th birthday where I would screen Shrek 2 and drink and have fun with my friends for a reasonable price. And just when I thought all hope seemed lost The Ditty crew stepped in and made sure I had the best birthday I’d ever had. The drinks were phenomenal, the food was phenomenal- but really the service is what stood out, Jared, Katie, and the bar crew made sure we had everything I needed and then some. If you’re looking for the best bar in New York City to spend your time and money, this is it. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
Music is off the hook for real. The people have been great -- both clientele and staff. I don't know how it's so consistent, but I travel across neighborhoods to get here. Drinks are quality and not too expensive either. Also, ask for Michelle, the bartender. She's dope. Def recommend. 🙏🏾
The space is super cute and has a great vibe. Service was friendly, and we appreciated the effort from the team especially since there was a baby shower happening on the back patio. That said, it did seem like they were understaffed, with only two people serving and bartending, which led to slower service overall. The drink specials were a highlight. $5 Bloody Marys and mimosas that were both generous and really tasty. Great value there. We ordered the steak & eggs, the stack, and the French toast. The main issue was timing and temperature. Our food took quite a while to come out, and when it arrived, the eggs, steak, and French toast were all cold. Flavor-wise, everything was good, and we were hungry after the wait, so we ate it but it was disappointing to receive hot breakfast items cold. There was also a mix-up with the French toast. It was listed as coming with peaches but arrived with strawberries instead, and we weren’t informed of the substitution. Unfortunately, one person in our party doesn’t like strawberries, so a quick heads-up would have been appreciated. We kindly let our server know about the issues, but nothing was adjusted on the bill. While we weren’t expecting a full comp, even a small gesture would have gone a long way in showing care. Overall, it’s a great value for the amount of food and drinks you get, and the space itself is charming. I’d be open to giving them another shot - hopefully with improved staffing and attention to food temperature and communication. There’s definitely potential here!
Security is so selective - if girls are dancing and tipsy they get all up in arms, but we have been literally assaulted in this bar and tried to tell security that men are drunk or being terrifying and they do not care. ONLY when girls are having fun does security shine a flashlight in your face and act like they care about "safety". It's a decent neighborhood spot but it's genuinely sexist!! Be careful girls....
Place plays super load music til the middle of the night sometimes 3am. Destroying a once peaceful neighborhood. People outside drunk. Fighting yelling. Disgusting
I used to love coming to this bar, the atmosphere and service used to be amazing. Unfortunately, my recent visits have been disappointing. Lately, I’ve noticed two male bartenders (one with glasses and another who ties his hair back) who don’t seem to make drinks properly. Several times, I’ve received cocktails that tasted like they had little or no vodka, which feels like an attempt to get people to order more drinks. Even worse, on two occasions, they added a tip to my bill themselves almost 30% without asking. On my last visit, the bartender with glasses also charged me $42 for something I didn’t order, and when I tried to point it out, he refused to look at the receipt and said, “I don’t want to look.” I really hope management looks into this, because this used to be one of my favorite spots, but the recent service has been unacceptable. I don’t recommend going there, but if you do, be careful and double check your bill.
Hi Ditty Management, I’m writing to formally share my disappointing and frankly disrespectful experience at your venue this past weekend. I’ve been to The Ditty before and always had positive experiences, but this recent visit left me and my group shocked by how we were treated, especially towards closing time. First, when my friend attempted to order a standard margarita, the male bartender flatly refused to make it—something I’ve never encountered at any bar. He ignored the order until another bartender eventually stepped in to fulfill the request after an unnecessary wait. This was already an off-putting start to our time there. Later in the evening, after we had just ordered another round of cocktails (roughly $20 each), the house lights came on, and the female bartender came over and abruptly told us we needed to leave. When my sister calmly responded that we’d like a moment to finish our drinks we just purchased, the bartender escalated the situation by accusing her of being “hostile” and called over security. What followed was completely unacceptable: the security guard—about 5’5” in height—rudely told my sister to “stay in her lane” simply for requesting a minute to finish our beverages. This behavior was completely uncalled for, demeaning, and completely lacking in professionalism or basic hospitality. This kind of treatment doesn’t reflect the welcoming environment I previously associated with your establishment. I’m unsure if this was new staff or a one-off, but it left such a bad impression that I felt compelled to bring it to your attention. I hope you take this feedback seriously and look into who was working that night. Bars thrive on the experience they create—not just the drinks they serve—and this experience was, unfortunately, the opposite of what most guests would expect or deserve. Walter J.
One of the worst bar experiences. The security pressured me to leave while there was people there. It clearly says it closes at 4am, while the security pressed me to leave at 3:40AM. We did NOT order more drinks, we were just finishing while the securities made a whole show, 3 had to get involved for no reason. We were just finishing the drink we ordered 10min ago. There was a guy in a tank top bar tending who kept bothering my husband because he was bigger than him as well as security. I felt targeted as well as the group I was in, The minute we entered. The guy in the tank working in the bar complained/ignored about a margarita I wanted and the gentleman to the right made it for me while he smirked it off. I don’t think it’s that hard to do, this is so unprofessional that’s going to the securities and the bar tender. DO NOT GO HERE if you want to have a nice relaxing night.
