Wild Onion Albans Reviews
Will definitely be visiting again!!!! My boyfriend and I ordered curried goat and oxtail and rice and peas and it tasted sooo good. Our server was Ashley and she was really great!!!! The food was so good we ate here and ordered another plate to go each!!! You should definitely come. GREAT music, food and customer service! Love love loooove
This was my first time at The Wild Onion! I could tell that the food was made with love! It was delicious and the presentation was also done with care! The young waitress Tish was super attentive! I will definitely be coming back to eat here with my family!
While the food and the service is good, the atmosphere is marred by the loudness of the music. You can barely hear yourself talk. You have to be yelling for others to hear you. That's not what a restaurant should be about. I'm not going to a night club.
Went to celebrate someone birthday dinner. And that brown stew fish let me forget the reason why I was there. It was great, I actually placed the same order over the phone the following night for pick up. To see if I would get the same service with food presentation and taste and I'm telling you it was the same and more. Good job workers and management for top-tier service I highly recommend. Music was great also.
The indoor dine in service is phenomenal. The take out side is the complete opposite. Not friendly at all. Both sides provide different food choices but the take out side food is mediocre. Definitely recommend dining in its worth it!
All that expansion and money they put in the restaurant to give me BULLSHIT! $37 per plate and I got 2 plates with a side of curry gravy. THE CURRY GRAVY WAS FULL OF CHEMICAL !!!! SMELLED EXACTLY LIKE FABULOSO. I went in to tell them and they looking at me like I’m stupid. Someone was yelling in the back when I picked up the food so I assume he was pissed about SOMETHING and put cleaner in the food. Lots of drama, BS AND BAD MANAGEMENT CUZ the manager played in my face. Two stars for the food because typically it’s really good but it’s EXPENSIVE and it was full of chemicals. THEY LUCKY I DONT SUE.
Food is good but be ware! Takeout portions decreased. There’s a change in ownership . Even ordering a large meal -meat to starch ratios do not add up at all. The food is spread out. Third time ordering noticing the change.
Came here tonight to dine in for the first time for happy hour . I came here before for take out . Came here with friends this evening . When we walked in we weren’t greeted . We said we are here for happy hour the lady seem like a liar . She tried to say there isn’t happy hour on Friday we told her we called before we came . So she said on thurs there is no happy hour . Any way for happy hour you’re only allowed to order wings only you can pick any flavor . We each choose our flavor . You get six wings for $10 . You get to choose a drink of your choice which is only happy hour options . We both got rum punch it don’t seem strong but it sneaks up on you . The drink is $10 as well . I honestly didn’t like the wings much at all . The waiter was cool I just didn’t like that he was about to charge us for three rum punch when only two was ordered . It’s $10 each for drinks . I feel like they try to over charge people if you don’t watch your bill .
Shrimp tacos were disappointing. Having 2-3 shrimps chopped up. I took the lettuce off cuz there was a SX!T load of it. Drinks weren't bad. They definitely need more servers/bartenders. It was 2 girls running around the entire lounge like track stars, while it's going UP on a TUESDAY! Applause to you ladies!
An hour long wait time - duplicitous practices - spoiled food & bad management. This is the WORST experience I've had at an establishment. They were feeding patrons OLD food - which was evident from the rancid aroma + what was sent to my table. Without being long winded - this establishment needs to be packed up or COMPLETELY revamped with ALL NEW STAFF as even "management" is lacking here.
This place is like its name sake! Wild! 😏 The music is deafening and they don’t care (if you have an Apple Watch be sure that you will be notified that your environment is really loud. I wasn’t tripping… even the watch picked it up). Even the server was shouting while talking with us because it was so loud. No phone signal and their wifi is locked so that means you can’t even view the menu after you scan the QR code that they say to use to get the menu. The service is horrible, the wait is long, food options are limited. Most food items (even the common brown stew chicken), they were out of it. The food is blah… have you ever tried their Rasta Pasta? Let me save you the trouble- don’t bother. And they include the gratuity in the check so you can’t even choose to tip in these instances. Not worth it for the tacky service and the high cost of the meals. Save yourself the trouble and go someplace else.
Went with a friend for happy hour on a Friday. The setting was promising. Everything else, like customer service & food, was a let down. Chicken Soup wasn’t hot or left a lasting impression, chicken wings were room temp & covered in buffalo sauce, drinks took forever to come (and overpriced with ice). The girls working the bar were also on takeout duty so that might’ve led to delays. Would not be returning.
My fiancé and I went to this restaurant last night and ordered oxtail and rice and peas. The food presentation is good however the rice was sour (more like overnight/stale rice) and the oxtail taste good but it was full of oil and the rice was full of gravy. We had to stop eating because it started upsetting our stomach because of the oil. We are extremely disappointed. This is our 3rd time there so we decided to try the oxtail. The staff was not so friendly either. The previous times we were assisted by Cherice (spell check) and it was great. If only she was there that night we know we would have been treated better.
