Cotton Bean Albee Square Reviews
It’s super cozy and their choice of food is huge and delicious I got a chocolate gluten free coffee and an espresso and is was sooo good this place is a must if you want a nice place to enjoy food!! Not only but they have a small shop with clothes and other items! And very cute decor! I’ve came here multiple times as a local :) ☕️
Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing real, reusable mugs, plates, and silverware to your customers! It does not go unnoticed, and I so appreciate getting to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and a flaky pastry without creating any needless plastic trash. It is sadly rare to see local cafes prioritizing the dignity of a meal without trash, so thank you for being a leader in Brooklyn. I like to give my business to shops that align with my environmental values—I’ll definitely be back and will tell my friends!
Highly recommended! Prices are great, the quality is amazing! The staff is so incredibly friendly! Really good coffee and the food looked amazing- I didn’t get a chance to try it because I was just grabbing coffee… but I loved the vibe and if I lived closer I would definitely try to make it my coffee spot!
Lovely little neighborhood coffee shop. Great for a quiet latte and pastry in the morning. Popular but rarely overcrowded.
Hasn’t come across such a nice, friendly, and cozy place for a while. Finally found a bakery with good pastry and food, also the staff are super nice. Great place for either quick bite or sit down and read.
Cute new spot! Great prices, yummy food and coffee. Still feels like they're finishing setting everything up but really worth checking out!
This is the kind of cafe I want to spend a whole morning in catching up on a book. Perfectly executed cappuccino, scrumptious bacon and egg sandwich, cosy vibes and friendly folks . A true gem.
A beautiful coffee shop right off of busy Smith St. This cafe is peaceful and beautiful. Their coffee was exceptional!
Airy and bright hidden gem in Carrol Gardens.

Delicious coffee, parlor beans! My fish sandwich was also delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. Staff was super friendly. Nice ambience. Thanks!
I stopped by Cotton Bean to have some breakfast before starting my day. It was my first time visiting, and it was unfortunate that I had frequented this area often and never noticed this cafe. It's small with plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. I ordered a bacon, egg, cheese, and avocado sandwich that was so good. It came with a small salad, and I also ordered a lavender mint drink, which was so refreshing. They do not offer Wi-Fi on weekends, and you cannot sit at the only booth table available with laptops or iPads. I love that they do this because it is annoying, especially on the weekends when people order a coffee or something small and sit for hours on their laptops, not allowing someone else to sit.
great espresso and the new barista with ginger hair was so lovely and kind <3
I had passed by this cozy spot for a few years, but only just finally went in for a coffee yesterday! It's so wonderful and unexpectedly refreshing with original sandwiches and other food, so I returned today with a friend for a delicious brunch and yummy chai latte. Lovely women provided great and fast service, and there are so many healthy and interesting I'm excited to try next! Great space and comforting vibe!
I happened to come upon this cafe on my walk to my barber one day. I came in for lunch then and was happy I did. It reminds me of my trip to Kyoto so much. The funny thing is I was reading "Before The Coffee Gets Cold" in the cafe and was thinking that for some reason the feeling of the cafe is similar to the one in that book. Granted, Cotton Bean is well lit, air conditioned, and is not in the basement...but something about it resonated. When I told the person behind the cash register about my feeling they mentioned that the owner is from Japan. Now it all makes sense. The fresh squeezed OJ is very nice, and I tried some foods. Very solid. Nothing mind blowing. Last time I went I sat there reading my book and eating my sandwich, and I realized that I felt peace in that moment for the first time in a long time.

I was so grateful that this place was open on Christmas! Massive menu with French pastry (the kind where you can taste the high quality butter) and onigiri and a very warming ginger/lemon/honey tea that was perfect for a cold day

Super delicious biscuits (they can add jam and butter for free) and nice serving of matcha in japanese-style bowls. The inside space felt hot and not enough air, but outside was pleasant with 4 small tables. Overall clean and minimalistic ambiance. A lot of rules regarding laptop limitations, max 2hr on wifi. They also have alcoholic beverages incl. Sparkling Sake.
Best bacon egg avocado sandwich ever. It was pleasant surprise because I originally went there for coffee. It is must have with any beverage. Can’t wait to go back.
This charming café offers lattes with just the right balance of sweetness, which is a definite plus. While the $9 price tag for a large latte with regular milk may seem a bit steep, it's certainly worth the $10 investment if you're seeking a cozy spot to relax and unwind for a while.

Cute spot. Appreciate the concept rice noodle burger as someone who doesn’t slay gluten but… it didn’t quite hit. The meat and sauce tasted very… ikea. lol. I realllyyyy appreciate that you can use a computer here. No WiFi on weekends. No outlets. The food also took a very long time. Like over 20 minutes (with ~6 people in the cafe) The coffee was pretty good! Again, it’s very cute!

Nice space, but I find it slightly mad presumptuous that the staff will make sure to let you know they expect a tip when a) they don't do table service, b) they never leave their station to clean the tables, and c) they expect you to put away your own dirty glasses/dishes since (b). People, a tip is literally a SERVICE charge, something which you are not offering.

matcha latte was almost $8 and so sadly watery. the menu is confusing; if you’re looking for a better matcha:milk ratio (like what other cafes do for matcha lattes) you’ll have to go for a matcha cappuccino. the indoor space is relatively small, plus they have a kitchen for food so be prepared for it to get very warm if you’re sitting inside.
