I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is consistently amazing—easily some of the best Chinese food I’ve had. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and hits every time. The service is just as great. I work in the neighborhood and always find myself stopping by before heading home, and it’s honestly become one of my favorite spots to unwind. A special shoutout to Nancy—she is incredibly sweet, attentive, and always makes the experience even better. 5$ wine keeps me always smiling lol and they have an amazing lunch special with so much options Highly recommend if you’re looking for delicious food and genuinely warm service!

Everything about this place is amazing. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. They will answer any question you have and with patience on top of that. Carmen is such a wonderful person and always treats me like family. The food is incredibly good quality and great portions. I usually get the general tso chicken and white rice but their boneless spare ribs are so moist and tasty. The first time I ordered I forgot to ask for bbq sauce and was worried it would be dry but boy was I wrong. The meat was so juicy and tender. Highly recommend

Ok so this place is a little hole in the wall but the food is delicious, the service is outstanding, and the prices are unheard of for this area. Seriously, I cannot stress enough how affordable the prices and generous the portions are for Fortune House. I've been working in DUMBO for nearly a year and am genuinely upset I haven't found this place sooner. We had the scallion pancakes, pork dumplings, soup dumplings, and pork short ribs and they were all great. Go visit this place, but come hungry cause they've got a lot of taste dishes to try!

Fantastic treat! Visiting friends in the DUMBO area. Found this leaving the Clark street station. Broccoli beef dinner was excellent (and still burning hot after the walk to the ferry park). Pork egg rolls were the perfect example of how a pork egg roll should be made! $21 including tax was less than expected for NYC.

The place has been there under the same management for years...the food is always hot and fresh... Iced water and /or tea is generously offered. The ordering with substitutions is easy and met without difficulties. Cookies come with the bill. Nothing fancy but comfort Chinese American food that satisfies the craving.

Classic old school Brooklyn Chinese restaurant. Plenty of room to sit.

Been coming here for years, and will continue to do so. If I had one ask, it would be to offer more dumpling varieties. Everything else is satisfying.

For we locals the big change at this venerable Chinese restaurant is the new owners. The menu items remain, the quality of the food seems to have improved but prices have increased. Still good quality and moderate prices.

Came here again a few weeks ago after stumbling upon it 2 years ago. They've made improvements since then (like removing the carpet and opening the other half of the restaurants tables. Service was still the same and food still just as good last time. Definitely love coming here for some grub. Highly recommend.

Average Chinese food restaurant that has tourist prices for food

This place used to be excellent. Came back today and was so disappointed the quality is not where it used to be. The people are really nice but the food is just not the same.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und ergiebig, ABER am Ende hat man uns die Rechnung gebracht, die wir bezahlt haben. Hiernach ist mein Mann noch zur Toilette gegangen, wonach wir wie üblich das Trinkgeld auf den Tisch gelegt hätten und gegangen wären...zu dieser Zeit kam die Managerin zu unserem Tisch und fing an auf dem Teller, worauf die Rechnung platziert war rumzuklopfen und "Tip tip" zu sagen, woraufhin ich ihr gesagt habe, dass mein Mann noch auf der Toilette ist. Sie ging nicht mehr weg vom Tisch und setzte ihre Aktion fort, als mein Mann wiederkam. Wir haben uns so über diese Aktion aufgeregt, dass wir dann doch kein Trinkgeld gegeben haben. Hiernach ist sie noch lauter geworden und ist uns bis zur Tür gefolgt.

They jacked up the prices ridiculously high due to the pandemic and they are making money hand over fist. Yet they do nothing to improve the look of it.

Ordered appetizers (French fries, spring rolls, chicken dumplings ) and all tasted super stale.. pretty sure everything was frozen and just heated up. Oil tasted funny and old. Don't want to revisit.

Food was decent. as I got to the exit after paying my bill, the waitress screamed “SIR SIR!! YOU FORGOT TO PUT A TIP” in front of a large party which was pretty embarrassing. I was on my lunch break and my total was $10. The waitress was already trying to give me a hard time because I didn’t have cash and they have a minimum of $12 if you’re paying with card, which I wasn’t aware of. She screamed out as if I forgot my wallet or something. Very rude.

Had to buy 3 egg rolls just to use the bathroom

Sesame chicken gave me food poisoning.

As you can tell from the reviews, the women at the desk aren’t very pleasant and don’t seem to understand what is going on. My orders continue to be wrong whether I place the order in person or on Uber. I’ve tried to give multiple chances as everyone has off days but won’t be going back now unfortunately as this seems to be the norm.

After the third time I got a rude “you crazy” when I was shocked when they told me if I wanted chopped fresh ginger added to my dish (something I’ve asked for literally for decades without issue), I got PICKLED ginger instead making the dish inedible, and was told I should “just buy ginger and add it yourself.” I think three tries is enough. I won’t be ordering from my longtime favorite Chinese restaurant anymore. Additionally, their white rice has been consistently poorly cooked since new management took over, the hot and sour is gloppy and the restaurant has grown increasingly grimey. I really hate to say it after 40 years: Avoid this place. It truly is a lost cause.

These were plain Bert, spare rib tips with no sauce in the white rice that was served to me tasted like it has was sitting out in the open for hours. I do not recommend this place at all! Especially to my people of color.
