Prime Catch NYC Albee Square Reviews
Amazing from the service to the food. We had the lobster bisque, lobster pasta with vodka sauce, and the veggie spring rolls. Everything came out hot and fresh. We enjoyed Moscow mules and sparkling water with our dinner. Our best meal in New York.
The food was delicious. The best part is that we had visited after being nearly crushed in a crowd around Rockefeller and they were able to seat us upstairs by ourselves so we could decompress. It was amazing and so needed. Thank you.
Prime Catch in the Theater District is a stellar dining choice, offering a sophisticated atmosphere and truly exceptional food. While their dry-aged steaks and fresh seafood (don't miss the Lobster Vodka Pasta!) are outstanding, the menu holds high-quality surprises like the Prime Catch Burger, which is easily one of the best in the area—perfectly juicy and seasoned. Be sure to save room for dessert and indulge in the Bomba Vanilla Chocolate Gelato, a rich, satisfying final note that perfectly caps off a five-star experience marked by polished, attentive service.
The food was spectacular you can tell that is freshly made I had the roasted chicken with sauteed spinach was off the "F" nook. The bartender "Alex knows what he is doing behind the bar. The drinks are nice and strong. Our server Anneni was very pleasant and attentive.
They have great Oysters promotion $1.5 per piece. This is pretty good deal considering that they located close to time square. I have been there a couple times. If you love steak do not order here but if you love Italian food and oysters they're the one. Their oysters are extremely fresh and they have a lot of sauce that you can eat with them. The lobster ravioli was one of my favorite ever. You should try it. And I highly recommend you sit at the bar. This is NYC you always have chance to meet someone awesome.
As seafood and steaks are two of my culinary passions, I’m pretty up on most of the great places in the City, but for some reason I’ve never made it to Prime Catch. That’s probably because it’s located off of TS, an area that I generally avoid as much as possible (except for seeing shows). I’ve been missing out though, as Prime Catch is a nice place with a great staff, and excellent dishes. It’s a good sized place and we sat at the entrance which was fully open. We were kind of almost half alfresco, if you will. The weather and temps were perfect and we enjoyed people watching as we dined. We started with a calamari appetizer. It was tasty and not overly done. We had one main of a whole red snapper with grilled veggies. The red snapper was nicely sized (lots of high quality protein), and well balanced seasonings. But the star dish was the other main, which was the fillet mignon. It was perfectly prepared. It was actually better than the one from a famed steakhouse a few blocks down, also on 46th, that we had had two days prior. We had a side dish of mushrooms, which was also very good. Overall a great experience and a place I’ll return to again in the future.
Perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of midtown. Don't let the outside fool you. As you walk in you'll feel you have stepped into another world. Very classy, good decoration, wide variety of beer in a bottle. I came in for the oysters and the carbonara. I have to say it was above my expectations. Google says it's a pricy place, but it's not. Every kind of person is welcomed here, no need to be dressed up, you have suits to bums like me.
Very impressed with our meal here. Excellent service, elegant ambiance and delicious food. We picked Prime Catch based on location and the ability to get a reservation between shows. So glad we did. The calamari was tender with perfect breading. Both steaks were cooked very nicely and the mashed potatoes were silky smooth!
Wow! Excellent steak house. At our reservation time we were seated immediately. This is a small, well appointed, intimate place in which conversation is possible. Absolutely top tier service. EVERYONE was on point, attentive to detail, anticipate your every need, and not too pushy. I cannot praise the food enough. Absolutely perfect. We started with the lobster bisque which was very good. We had the roast chicken which was cooked to perfection. The loaded baked potato was also excellent. The tiramisu was obviously made in house. It was that good. The cake was not spongy, but firm and was not too sweet. Also try the Raspberry Moscow Mule from their coctail list. Very, very good. And again, the service was world class. Just flawless. Other restaurants could take lessons from the staff here. Yes, they were THAT good.
So where do I start....after Broadway show, literally walked for an hour to have a fancy dinner since we were without the kids...Prime Catch was the end result and it did not disappoint. The food was exquisite 👌 the service was great..the owner was the sweetest man ever. Gave us complimentary desert and was consistently making sure all the guests were pleased and content. Ambiance was very romantic, dimmed lighting, very intimate. Rest room couldnt be cleaner. Rating was an A! Took us a while to find an A in the Times Square area. Def will visit again.
Good place to come before a show at Hudson Theater . Short walk and service was quick . Just a little disappointed with service and food . I told two different guys I wanted a loaded baked potato and yet it still came out with only sour cream . No butter , no cheese . Maybe this is a NY thing ? In Texas when you say loaded that means the works .. butter , cheese , chives , bacon .. they got me two slabs of American cheese and laid it on there but boy did it look lame . Everyone was nice and it’s quite cool that Happy hour was even available on a Saturday .. but overall the place is so so . Well as I was writing this the mgr Toli came over and gave me his card and told me they have an upstairs available for events /large parties . He was so lovely and personable that I gave them one more star . I’d come back and not order the baked potato . Lol
I walked into this restaurant while exploring Manhattan. It wasn’t crowded and the noise level was manageable. The ribeye steak was cooked well and deserves an 8/10. The calamari had good seasoning but was too oily and not crispy. The shrimp was tasty, and the soup was decent. Overall, a nice spot for a satisfying meal.
On a side street in the heart of Times Square holds a small gem of a restaurant with delicious food and great service. The vibe is elevated bar & grill meets Italian classics. The food is cooked well, seasoned and nice portions. The Chicken Parm is really good and the pasta is a wonderful complement not just a filler but really stands out on its own. The lamb chops are some of the best I have ever eaten at this price point. It is affordable but yet done perfectly, has just the right seasonings and the grilled flavor takes it to the next level. Wonderful portion and spinach was delicious. The Mac & Cheese was creamy and luscious and made a wonderful mate to the lamb chops. I also had a strawberry margarita and it was lovely but I consumed it before taking a picture but it is worth the money. Highly recommended. This was a refreshing change of pace restaurants have been so disappointing as of late in Manhattan I am glad to see somewhere still cares about the quality and taste of their food.
Sorry but Prime Catch did not hit the mark. Saturday night dinner (5:30pm) was a disappointment. Forget Happy Hour... drinks, oysters and bacon were terrible...no taste whatsoever. Bartender Alex was attentive. He explained the so-called Happy Hour and was quick to replace the disappointing HH drinks.
I went to celebrate my birthday whit my girlfriend last Monday and we order some plates some of the was really good like the chicken Parmesan whit the pasta was so delicious 10/10 But the lobster was not good for a plate that cost me $110.00 they just boiled and that is it nothing special no butter or garlic or any recommendations from the waiter the others plate that we order was ok the Alfredo pasta and the lamb rims whit spinach was ok.
I really wanted to like this place. So I came before for appetizers and beer and then lobster shrimp avocado was pretty good. Today we ask for a Tomhawk, baked potato and mac & cheese with lobster and nothing had a leak of salt. Mac and cheese was watery I asked for butter and was very synthetic. All waiters were nice
Writing this review for my husband and his cousin: This restaurant has sliding glass window type of doors to let fresh air in, which is nice, but it also lets in cigarette smoke from people walking by on the street - not so nice. As for the food, it LOOKED good, but the steaks were very bland. The Tomahawk was not cooked to order (it was undercooked) and the server brought back what looked to be the same steak that was burnt by a blow-torch. Sadly, the meal highlights were the bread basket, calamari, mozzarella sticks and side salad. Regarding the service, the server, Sal, brought the check to the table (which includes a surprise service charge) and stared down my husband while standing over him in an intimidating manner (as if to prepare for dine-and-dashers). Two thumbs down to the food & service. Will never come here again when visiting NYC. Highly disappointed.
Bait and switch. Dishonest. $1.75 an Oyster special. Told staff I wanted to eat the special Oysters, they sat me at a table knowing full well I had just requested the Oyster special. When my party of 2 arrived we asked if we could eat more Oysters on the special. They then disclosed it was $4.50 per Oyster. We paid the bill and left. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT.
