Rintintin Albee Square Reviews
What an amazing place! Greek girl, went there with my husband around Thanksgiving last year, to celebrate my birthday! They made me feel so special! Cozy place, very friendly stuff, great drinks, amazing food! Would recommend! I'll miss this place!
Such a great atmosphere, our bartender Reaf was amazing (man can hussle) created delicious off the menu drinks. Food is delicious. Most definitely recommend.
I recently visited RinTinTin, an unassuming bar-restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Initially, the place felt more like a sports bar, with the Copa showing on the TV and patrons at the bar engrossed in the soccer match. However, the inviting atmosphere and accommodating service quickly stood out. Our waiter was exceptionally friendly and handled our large group with ease. The food was freshly made, inviting, and delicious. I ordered a simple cheeseburger with fries, and both exceeded my expectations. The hand-cut fries were absolutely divine, and the burger, made exactly as I requested, came with a fresh bun and was perfectly cooked. The meat was fresh and flavorful, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Albeit the prices are high—$19 just for a burger—it was worth it for the freshness and flavor. This was a nice treat. My friend ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes, and the portion was filling and well-prepared. Our table included vegetarians who enjoyed the vegetarian lasagna, a dish that was equally well-received. Overall, the food and ambiance at RinTinTin were excellent. The only downside was that the seats we were assigned had crumbs left over from previous guests. A thorough cleaning of the cushioned couches would enhance the overall experience. Despite this minor issue, we had a wonderful time, and I highly recommend RinTinTin for its great food and friendly service.
Obsessed with Rintintin! Trendy vibrant vibe, delicious food presented with flair, and craft cocktails - their margarita is a must-try! Friendly top-notch service by attentive staff. Has become my go-to spot - can't wait to come back!
This bar is an absolute pleasure to spend time in. The staff/bartenders are caring and really want you to enjoy your experience especially Katie and ashlee. I will give this bar a 10/10 every day of the week
My family and I came to eat and have a good time, the food was great, the dishes were very well served. the drinks absolutely delicious. Camila was flawless attentive and helpful. She answered our questions and recommended excellent dishes. very good place.
We just had the best lunch! Wonderful service and delicious food. We tried the olives, mussels, caprese sandwich, chicken sandwich, and some amazing drinks. Such a cute place - great vibe and amazing service!
Rintintin is the go to spot for a cocktail with friends before a night out or a place to relax all night. Their food is okay but good enough to get by, but their drinks are great! The ambiance is what sets this place apart for sure—set on one of the coolest corners in Nolita with a wraparound patio and excellent people watching.
Love grabbing a cocktails and the atmosphere. The oysters are really good for a little lunch as well
The Ginger Pear Martini is refreshingly cool on a hot day. All the guilt of liver damage goes away as the taste of pears and lemons passes over the gum. Place has a “planty” homely Cuban feel. If that makes sense. Didn’t feel out of place in my crispy ironed Variant t-shirt. I’ll come back if I’m in the area and want to pregame.
I got shakshuka and a hibiscus sunrise, the shakshuka was very delicious, it had little hot dog slices in it which was surprising but pretty tasty. It could use an appropriate bread + sauce option to really kick it up a notch, because the side order of bread was too much bread lol. But I was overall happy. I felt too full afterwards for an hour or two 😅
Rintintin is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is great, perfect for sharing apps with the girls and they have great drinks too! My girlfriend’s and I come here after work at least once a month and can’t recommend it enough
The lamb chops were just divine! No idea what magic is in the mustard sauce, but it was just heaven. We also really enjoyed their take on churros with a smooth buttery side of caramel sauce sauce or fresh vanilla ice cream. The chicken kabobs were tender and well seasoned, and the herbed spinach couscous was just a comfort spiced delight. Absolutely will return.
Love this place. Great service, nice drinks and food, good vibe
We sat at the bar just before they closed the kitchen on a Wednesday night. The mezze platter and calamari were delicious. The very sweet bartender recommended the chilled gamay, and while I’m not typically a fan of this varietal, it was very good and refreshing on a hot night. We will be back on the next visit!
Amazing atmosphere! We had a great table right by the window. Great Saturday night date spot. Cool vibe inside and can see the people walking around outside which is cool. Food was delicious. I loved the charcuterie board and the clam linguini pasta and the muscles. The service was great too. The staff was all super friendly and professional. And I thought all the food was reasonably priced. Only dish I didn’t like was the grilled octopus
Absolute gem tucked away on the quieter part of Spring St! This little eatery boast of all the charm and character that you would find at a spot in Mykonos. The food has excellent presentation and the flavors are so well balanced! Loved the whole lobster, lamb chops & burrata! What really made our experience incredible was their Maitre’D, he went above and beyond to accommodate us, gave us recommendations around the city & just overall took such great care of us, this level of attention can be hard to find in NYC’s food scene. I cannot recommend Rintintin enough!!
Amazing food, great service, cozy and intimate atmosphere. The churros were amazing and the octopus as well.
Stopped here on a Friday afternoon and got some work done while enjoying some delicious beverages and snacks. Eliseo is a great bartender! Will definitely be back.
Came in for quick lunch & overall great experience! Welcoming experience & quick seated. Shakshuka was just what I was looking for. Good to share with someone else for light lunch.
Amazing spot for dinner and drinks. We came here for a girls night out and the food and drinks were excellent. The mezze plate and zucchini chips are particularly noteworthy. It’s super busy so the staff is obviously running around a bit, but that doesn’t impact the quality of their service. Their drinks are delicious as well, definitely recommend the cucumber gimlet. All in all, a great spot to start your night!
Fabulous place in Nolita! The food was very good. We had brunch on a very snowy Saturday afternoon before returning home. Would definitely return.
GREAT restaurant, I used to be a host here in Mach 2024 - April 2024 and got to try ALL their food and it was so delicious, the staff here is so amazing and helped me give great service to all the amazing costumers, do check them out their have great food and awesome made drinks! Plus their seating arrangement from the patio and inside is so awesome, the chefs here mastered the sort of the cuisine here, check them out, it will all be worth it! Cheers from old host Victor B that still orders take out from your restaurant to Montefiore Hospital, food always comes warm, delicious and so abundant! If I ever get to walk again I will run over and Apple to be a host at this awesome restaurant! :)
Kind of pricey, but you get what you pay for! They have a cheaper menu for brunch then they do for later lunch and dinner! Just a heads up, but all their food is stellar and they honestly have better things on their menu and the later afternoon and evening menu. But their hummus plate was literally one of the best I’ve ever had was pretty blown a little bit understaffed but that’s not their fault, that was working extremely helpful and super apologetics they were being. The place is packed, which just goes to show how delicious all the food is and honestly the atmosphere is incredible too!
I just had wine and a charcuterie board with my partner last night but the service was very very nice. We had a super friendly server Armando. So attentive, anticipated to what we needed and fast! The hostess was also very sweet, she sat us just at the table that we wanted and said goodbye from the distance when we left.
Staff was extremely friendly! 1) seated us within minutes 2) made sure the table was doing alright multiple times 3) great vibes and energy Outdoor seating was set up nicely! 1) cute aesthetic 2) tables were split by huge dividers 3) heating lamp for warmth Calamari slapped! 1) crispy 2) golden brown crunch 3) sauces didn't over power the calamari I ordered Steak and Eggs: 10/10! 1) love me some medium rare steak 2) potatoes were yum 3) eggs and veggies so good Will definitely come back again. Thank you for a wonderful outdoor dining experience!!
I would definitely recommend stopping in here for dinner and a few drinks. The wife and I walked in without a reservation and got lucky to be seated instantly. The atmosphere here is very fun, and you can tell the staff enjoyed their jobs. They provided great food and recommendations. We had the Tajine and the Lamb Burger (w/Brussels sprouts instead of fries). Both meals were very good. The portions were perfect. My wife was pregnant at the time so the bartender whipped up an amazing non-alcoholic drink to go with her meal. My maple old fashioned was very good. All said, we had 2 great meals and a couple drinks for <$100! (Not bad for NYC 😄)
I've been here sporadically every couple years since it opened and at first thought it unjustly charged for overpriced for drinks but I've warmed up to the spot. The drink prices are slightly higher than expected but the cocktails are good (get the cucumber julep) and the Feta dish with pepperoncini is amazing! They also do coffee & espresso in the mornings as well
I love it here! The outdoor dining is wonderful and the charcuterie board was the best I have had in the city so far. My only criticism is that the bathroom reminds me a little too much of a subway station, so if renovations are planned I would dedicate some care to the bathroom.
Came here for a late dinner with some friends. Even at 11p on a Tuesday, this place was popping. We were a group of 8 but were able to find seating in the back. The tables were nice and set up well, so we could all interact and chat throughout the dinner. The food came quickly and was pretty great. The place had a nice vibe to it in a cool part of town. Worth checking out!
Cute atmosphere with a fun, entertaining vibe. I tried the roasted heirloom cauliflower, which was just ok. It was a bit undercooked for my personal liking. The vegetables were pretty hard still although the sauce that came with it made them taste much better. Everything in the pan seared cod dish was very tasty! Even the skin of the fish was edible! I also liked that the snow peas in the dish were hand shredded. It seemed more flavorful being cut up small.
Curiosity got the best of us after walking by Rintintin countless times, always bustling. We made a reservation for Saturday evening and were seated promptly outside. Perusing the menu, we expected Mediterranean flavors but found a mishmash of options (NY strip steak, burgers, pasta, paella). We opted for drinks instead: a lychee martini and old fashioned. Mine arrived sans lychee, but after spotting another table's garnish, our server kindly obliged (apparently, they'd briefly run out). The old fashioned was crafted well, tailored to my partner's taste. Ambience? 5 stars, perfect for a hot summer evening. Drinks and food? 4 stars. While the drinks were solid, the menu's lack of Mediterranean focus left us underwhelmed. Maybe we'll return for drinks, but the food didn't tempt us.
We came for drinks in the afternoon and the place was crowded, but in a cozy way. We had some great tasting cocktails, of which the mezcal espresso martini is highly recommended! The staff that served us was friendly. However, the young woman who seated us was very moody, not smiling and did not look happy with what she was doing. Maybe it was the rain outside that made her feel that way, but the fact that she was the first point of contact upon entering made the experience just a little less enjoyable. The place has a nice vibe and is clean.
The food here is generally quite good. Prices are absurd, but not unusual for Soho. The service was okay, but a few orders were forgotten, and the food did take quite a while to come out. The menu is a bit confusing, and is semi-mediterranean/middle eastern while still not committing to the theme? The Tagine was good, but quite different to the normal Moroccan version. Personally I would not return, but it’s worth giving a try for a nice dinner!
A creative and yummy Mediterranean fusion restaurant. A solid choice for an evening with friends and was fairly affordable for a nice NYC dinner We were easily able to snag a table for 3 on a Friday evening. The staff were fun, courteous, and had an energetic vibe. They easily helped make gluten intolerant substitutions. The outdoor and indoor seating are creatively decorated with bright Mediterranean inspired patterns. Must try the crispy artichoke hearts - I don’t like artichoke normally and these literally tasted like fries, but healthy. So good! I also recommend the crudo, it’s small and light but has a refreshing olive oil and fresh herb flavor. The burger and fish kebab are great choices too.
Found this spot after walking around the area for a bit. It has a casual vibe which is what we were looking for after a couple drinks. My only qualms were that I waited maybe 20 minutes before I had to get up and ask if anyone was serving people. The staff was a bit busy flirting or sitting down elsewhere. I don’t mind people relaxing, but c’mon.
Great Vibe but the food was a bit bland and boring. Got the Hugo Spritz it was too sweet. Charred Octopus has great texture but no flavor. Branzino was flavorless. Strip Steak was fine but it's steak ya know? Au Poivre Sauce was nice. Food wasn't bad but felt worse than what I could make at home. People next to us had the Greek Salad and charcuterie board which looked really good. So might be a good snack and wine spot
Stopped in here for a late dinner after other plans fell through. Took a bit to get seated at an open table by a guy who seemed like he really didn't want to be there. Didn't bring any water, brought me the wrong glass of wine (like not even the right color), though what seemed to be the actual server there (receipt said Isabel) replaced it and was friendly enough. Linguine was fine (pasta kind of overcooked, lot of clams but flavor nothing to write home about) but def not worth $30. Would rate it lower but I don't know many other spots to get a full plate of pasta after 10 PM, and everyone there for drinks seemed to be having a good time - might have had a better experience if I was just in for cocktails and/or small bites
Went for a simple week night dinner with my boyfriend. The gentleman managing the floor welcomed us warmly inside the restaurant. We decided to stay. A lot of basics were missed, the server didn’t introduce herself, she wasn’t going out of her way to perform customer service, but the food was incredible- the lobster endive salad and the octopus was spot on. The drinks sucked- don’t get them. Pretty basic for a $100 meal nothing that would make me return.
Went yesterday for a late lunch/pre dinner. The crudo was great! Beautifully plated and full of different yet complimentary flavors. Honestly only came cause I was attracted to the outside seating, but staff was hesitant to let me sit as I was a solo diner. Staff was also inattentive and pushy. Server didn’t know what a wine spritzer was. After my meal sat for awhile before anyone came to clear the table, ask if I wanted anything else, or present the check. Which was confusing cause how are you going to rush me and then not be attentive? Ended up going inside to use the restroom and asking for the check. Had to go back inside to pay, even tho the server had a portable toast machine. Whilst paying I noticed that the toast machine had 20% tip automatically selected so the server just told me to sign. if it wasn’t set up that way I would’ve paid for the food only. Didn’t make a deal about it cause I just won’t go back. Server also didn’t want to give the guy next to me his change (he only had a sparkling water). He told me they lost the tip when they decided to rush him (understandable). Seem stingy for tips here, but just have better service. Most people will gladly tip if service is just par. Especially for the price of things, service should be better.
I live local, have worked in the restaurant industry, and both my parents were GMs in the city so let's baseline there. This place is a decent neighborhood spot for the most part. Drinks aren't special but a few of the bartenders are lovely and do well with the basics. Same regarding the food (some things are great, any of the things that are fried are sometimes cooked at the wrong temp and end up just being greasy). The interior is the same, it's pretty nice. This review should be a solid 4.5 but the service drags everything down. Unfortunately there is one woman behind the bar on the weekend nights who is ATROCIOUS. I have no idea how this lady works the weekend shifts. If this was a one-off I wouldn't say anything, but this bartender is a repeat offender; She's rude, makes mediocre drinks, is stingy with the ice, ignores you when you order, God forbid you ask for a glass of water with your drinks. She also adds things to the bill that were never ordered (has happened several times. not sure is she does this bc ppl get pretty drunk but some of us aren't wasted and we can read the bill). Not sure how this type of person got the weekend shift. One person ruining a decent operation isn't worth it. Decent personable bartenders (esp on the weekend) add to the vibe. I understand all too well that some bridge-and-tunnel ppl get rude , wasted and annoying, and ok thats when a bartenders annoyance and rudeness is justified, but this lady is just rude for no reason. She makes bad drinks too. There are other solid bartenders during the week, in the day and even on the weekends. GM or owner should correct this. It shouldn't be that hard.
Good food, subpar drinks with contemptuous service. I particularly enjoyed watching our drinks melt at the bar for 10 minutes while the staff chit chatted.
What the hell was happening here today? Service was woefully under par. Had to wait ages for service. We ordered a bottle of wine that took ages to come, then we lost our server and asked for the check. Again no server to collect the signed check. I like the food and location but they need to sharpen up on looking after their customers.
We visited Rintintin yesterday, expecting a great dining experience. While the food was decent, it was definitely overpriced for what we got. We ordered the shakshuka and the chicken schnitzel sandwich, but both dishes arrived cold and tasted off considering the price. The real issue, however, was the hygiene. We spotted a cockroach roaming around our table, which was extremely off-putting. When we brought it to the staff’s attention, the bartender casually picked it up with a tissue, crushed it in his fist, and threw it in the trash—acting as if it was no big deal. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the issue, and certainly no compensation for the unpleasant experience. Overall, while the food was okay, the lack of cleanliness and dismissive attitude toward a serious hygiene concern left a bad impression. We won’t be coming back.
Perhaps it was a bad day for them? I would like to think you would not usually treat customers so poorly. The attitude was terrible, I guess stemming from what appeared to be the ego centric “manager” who appeared to be more interested in being macho then serving customers…… I will not be back!
As someone who eats Mediterranean food daily, I didn’t quite think the food was Mediterranean. They don’t have too many options and the food tasted just ok. The service was disorganized, I still don’t know who our server was because multiple people came and went. The girl who took our payment at the end tried to make up for the lacking service with a joke and compliments. Also said she “didn’t think they could do split checks”. First restaurant experience that can’t do split checks. Overall, wouldn’t recommend nor come back. Average experience for above average prices
I will NEVER return here after today's experience. While my first visit with my sister was amazing, this subsequent visit has revealed major issues with both SERVICE (!) and food quality (i.e., pricing). It was raining, and my friend and I wanted to get lychee martinis. Upon arrival, the hostess (a foreign-sounding woman, maybe french, about 5'7" with curly black hair) asked if we had a reservation. When we said no, she wordlessly walked us OUTSIDE and expected us to sit on wet chairs. She didn't offer to seat us in the dry area under the roof, nor did she mention that only outside seating was available - despite the pouring rain and ample room inside. When I brought this up, she dismissively said, "Well, yeah, it's raining," as if I were stupid. The whole interaction felt uncomfortable, especially as my friend and I are Black and Brown women, and this lady kept eyeing us up and down suspiciously. We decided to give it a chance and waited 15 minutes at our table in the rain for service, but NO ONE came. We ultimately left without being served. The food quality doesn't justify the high prices - expect to spend over $100 for two people on mediocre dishes. If you're looking for an expensive meal, there are far better options elsewhere. The staff is abrasive, potentially racist, and rude. If you are a woman of color, save yourself the humiliation and go elsewhere. This place doesn't deserve your time or money.
We had a very disappointing experience with the hostess tonight, who treated us in a xenophobic manner when we tried to get a table. She was rude, prioritized someone else before us, and when we pointed out the issue, she removed that person but then told us we wouldn’t be seated at all. If you’re a tourist visiting from outside the U.S., I recommend avoiding this place. It’s disheartening to see exclusionary behavior, especially from someone in a position to welcome others
The manager threatened us. We are never coming back again. She threatened us, because she forces us to put a 20% tips, while the service was BAD. Dont come here. Especially if you are French.
Rintintin is a surprise for all the wrong reasons. The restaurant feels dirty in a way that makes you question how it earned its A rating. Service is underwhelming and lacks any genuine warmth or attention. The alcohol tastes flat and oxidized, like it has been sitting too long behind the bar. It is a place that tries to coast on reputation but falls short on every other level. Dining here feels like a missed opportunity and one you will want to forget quickly.
I would never recommend this place to anyone EVER! Very unprofessional the way the speak to PAYING customers. I work nearby in the neighborhood and got a small soup to go and paid $15.24. I then later discovered through my credit card statement that I was charged $20.24 and since I work in the neighborhood, I stopped over and asked the bartender Aref why was I charged an extra five dollars for the soup? He then stated to email their manager and try to have it resolved. I emailed the manager on May 27 and hadn’t heard a response so I walked over there today and asked the same bartender is there anyone else that I could reach out to because I hadn’t heard back from his manager? I then get this email from the company Very nasty and distasteful reply and I may say very, very unprofessional stating no more soup for you for one year consider considering the fact that business is business regardless if I left a tip or not for a soup TO GO! And then at that try to shame me for not leaving a tip because their employees depend on those wages. I also provided them with screenshot proof of me only paying $15.24 no additional five dollars and this is the outcome and response I received from the situation and I know it’s only five dollars but I’m glad to see that this is how I was treated over five dollars from this establishment and you can see this is their official email address as well!
Spent around 90 dollars at the bar bc we were told “20 minute wait” after over an hour they kicked us out of the bar bc we weren’t purchasing enough drinks and wanted us to wait outside in the cold. The only mistake we made was believing them - the other reviews in this site seem to reflect a similar level of service - so not sure what I was expecting. Next time, quote a realistic time, or deal with 3 people not trying to get shit faced at your bar while the bartender gives conspicuous signals to the hostess to get rid of us.
Walked into an empty restaurant and politely asked if we could sit. The waitress responded with attitude and a sarcastic tone, completely uncalled for. No idea why someone working in hospitality would act like that. We turned around and left.
Manager obnoxiously cornered our group after we paid 16% tip saying "New Yorkers pay at least 20%". New Yorkers also don't want animals in their restaurant, but this manager was OK with a dog running around his restaurant!
just got food poisoning 30 minutes after eating the zucchini pomodora. clearly from past reviews food is not being stored properly and there is some sort of cross contamination. we came back and tried to tell an employee and they tried to shoo us away and say email us. terrible experience although our waitress was very nice and concerned
I used to really enjoy coming to this bar, but after today’s experience, I won’t be returning — and I definitely won’t recommend it to anyone. I brought two friends with me and arrived first. I told the host we were three people, and she replied that we could sit at a table for two and add a chair. That already seemed odd, but I agreed, thinking it would be handled reasonably. When my friends arrived, the host suddenly expected us to squeeze two people into a space clearly made for one — completely ignoring what she had previously said. I asked for a chair (again), and we were given one. But just as we were finishing up and paying, the same host actually came over and told my friend to stand up and give back the chair. At that point, it was just plain disrespectful. It was embarrassing, rude, and totally uncalled for. This host — who was working today around 4 p.m. — clearly lacks basic hospitality skills and should not be the face that greets customers. A bar can have a great atmosphere, but if the staff doesn’t know how to treat people with respect, it ruins everything. We ended up leaving and going to another bar where we were treated like actual customers. This used to be a cool place, but they need to seriously reconsider who they hire at the front of house.
Decent bar, except for the bartender, Juliette(?). I ordered a round of drinks, and then closed out. About halfway through our round, I asked if I could have a glass of water. She told me I had to wait a minute. 10 minutes later, after we finished our round of drinks, I asked her for a glass of water again. She said “I said to wait a minute, I have other priorities, if you want a glass of water, go somewhere else.” So my friend and I left. If you want to be treated poorly by the people serving you drinks, I’d 100% recommend this bar.
What I received did not match my order. Olive starter tasted off. 0/10 recommend
worst service imaginable. never came by after taking our order and we were out of water the whole time. no accurate answers to questions about the food either. straight up wrong or speculative "i think" answers to questions about the menu.
Hostess was really sweet which is refreshing- but service was slow, inattentive. Food was bad and wet- waited for our check and a woman asked how everything was, i said bad, she asked why, i told her the issues with each dish (soggy, odd flavors, cold) and she got defensive?? She said “THATS HOW WE MAKE IT” and I said well it tastes bad. Dont ask a customer what they think if you dont want feedback. Gross food and gross attitude. Wont be back.
I’ve been to Rintintin many times because it’s usually a great spot. The food is good and in the past the staff has always been friendly, which is why this experience was so shocking and disappointing. The hostess/server Isabella (not sure of her name) had an incredibly rude and hostile attitude from the beginning. We were waiting for two friends who were about 10 minutes away, and I was fully planning to start ordering food for the table even before they arrived. I was aware we needed to order, and when I was about to do so I even asked her for a recommendation. Instead of helping, she abruptly told us we had to leave because our friends weren’t there yet. She then literally told us to get up and leave and loudly announced in front of everyone that I didn’t need to pay for my wine, as if we had done something wrong. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. We were polite the entire time and had every intention of ordering and dining there. What made it even worse is that I genuinely cannot understand why we were treated this way. I don’t know if it was because we have an accent or what the issue was, but the way we were spoken to and thrown out felt incredibly disrespectful. I’ve recommended this place many times before, but after this experience I’m honestly questioning whether I would come back. No guest should ever be treated this way in a restaurant.
I have always loved Rin Tin Tin, but my visit on March 6, 2026, with my sister and niece visiting from Italy was very disappointing. What should have been a special family meal turned into a series of service and kitchen failures. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. without a reservation. While the hostess accommodated us, she made it feel like she was doing us a massive favor, emphasizing that we only had one hour because of a following reservation. Funny enough, it was the restaurant, not us, that couldn't keep up with the pace of the meal. The service was incredibly disorganized. We ordered three burgers, all requested medium. The waiter initially brought out only one burger and two sides of fries, having completely forgotten the other two. By the time the mistake was acknowledged and the remaining food was prepared, the flow of our dinner was ruined as we couldn't even eat together. When the forgotten burgers finally arrived, they were nowhere near medium; they were served rare. When my niece took a bite, it was clear the meat was raw. When we raised the issue, the manager was dismissive. She took the burger back to the chef and returned to insist it was "definitely medium," despite it being visibly undercooked and raw in the center. To make matters worse, we were charged for the full meal, including the burger that went back completely untouched. They offered a free dessert to make up for the situation, but after the poor food quality and the attitude, we didn't want it. I chose not to leave a tip because management refused to take any real accountability. After being a long-time fan, I won’t be returning and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone hosting out-of-town guests.
I’ve always loved this place and have consistently had great experiences here, which is why this visit stood out in a negative way. Unfortunately, the hostess we encountered had a very unwelcoming attitude. Despite the restaurant having plenty of empty tables, she insisted that three of us sit at a small table meant for two, and communicated this with unnecessary attitude. Hospitality starts at the door, and this experience didn’t reflect the standard I’ve come to expect from this restaurant. I’ll happily continue coming back—just hopefully not when she’s working.
We’ve visited Ritintin several times and always loved the food and the friendly servers. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was disappointing — not because of the food or the staff, but because of the female manager’s attitude. There were three of us, and we asked to sit outside. One small table was available, and when we asked if we could sit there, the manager asked if we’d be fine using just that one small table. We said yes, since that was the only table she offered us at the moment. We ordered three drinks and four dishes. The first two dishes came out, and while we were eating, the table next to us became empty. When the remaining dishes arrived, our table had no space left, so our server placed them temporarily on the empty table beside us. We politely asked if we could use that empty table just to hold the food, and our server said she would check with the manager. The manager refused. Later, a second server came to check on us and kindly said she would ask again — but the manager still said no. Then, a third server, seeing that our dishes were sitting on the empty table getting cold, also tried to help by asking again. Yet the manager refused once more, even though, by that time, there were four or five empty outdoor tables available. Instead of helping, the manager came out, placed a “Reserved” sign on the empty table right next to us, and walked away without saying anything. A few minutes later, the third server returned and asked if we were okay. We explained that if the table was truly reserved, we’d just like to know what time the reservation was so we could finish before then. She said she’d ask — but again, the manager said no and finally came to our table herself, visibly frustrated, asking, “What’s the problem?” I calmly explained that our food didn’t fit on the table, and we simply wanted to know whether the next table was actually reserved. The manager sarcastically said “Soon” twice, then told us to clear some plates to make room. A moment later, as if realizing how unreasonable that sounded, she sighed, pushed the tables together herself, and said something like, “You agreed to use one table,” in a tone that made us feel as if we were being difficult customers. What made it worse was seeing her inside the restaurant pointing toward our table and talking to a server, shaking her head as if we were the problem. She and another staff member kept glancing at us throughout the meal, making us very uncomfortable. To be clear, we were never being unreasonable. We agreed to use one small table when all others were occupied. Once the next table became available and our food arrived, we politely asked to use the extra space — at a time when multiple outdoor tables were empty. Any professional manager could have handled this with empathy and common sense. The food was excellent as always, and all three servers were kind, patient, and professional — they truly did their best to help us, and we appreciated that. But the manager’s behavior completely ruined what should have been another wonderful experience. I brought a friend visiting from Korea — her first time in New York — and I was excited to take her to one of my favorite spots. It’s such a shame that this visit left us both disappointed because of one unprofessional manager.
Disappointed by the service. The bartender in the green cardigan was extremely rude—she threw the QR code at us, which we first thought was a joke, but quickly realized it reflected her overall attitude. She was applying lipstick and playing with her hair right before serving drinks, which felt very unprofessional. The host didn’t behave like staff either—she stood behind us without saying “excuse me” or making any effort to communicate. Overall, this feels like a stopover spot while you wait to go somewhere better. Would not recommend.
