Vol de Nuit Albee Square Reviews
Great Belgian beers, great vibes. I do wish the kitchen was open to serve frites, but I’m glad that offer the alternative to bring food in. Pomme frites from around the corner will give the full experience.
Truly a great place. Phenomenal Belgian beer on tap and a just an overall beautiful place to hang with some friends.
They follow through on special requests whenever possible. Every staff member provided elegant attention. The food tasted good but the portion was small. The restaurant environment stays orderly and attractive. This restaurant earns my repeat visits and referrals.
We stumbled upon Vol de Nuit by chance and couldn't believe our good fortune. The workers appear especially attractive. I can still remember how good it tasted. This spot has a vibe that encourages lingering. This restaurant deserves maximum stars.
A secluded courtyard. A wooden straircase, worn with the tread of many feet. Exposed brick behind swirling dust, illuminated by a narrow slat of sunlight. Humble furniture cowers in the corners of the angular plain room. Is this a Belgian monastery? A frontier saloon? No, it's Vol de Nuit. And there's no better place to get no better beers.
I don't like going to bars, but I love this one! If I ignore the American accents, I can pretend that I'm in Brussels or Berlin. I love their courtyard and their delicious fries, garlic dip, and really great Belgian beers.
Local legend. Great beer, tasty frites. A place I’ll always come back to.
The kitchen delivers flavors that linger pleasantly in memory. The staff balances information with careful observation. The meal features newly prepared components displayed impressively. Our visit showed quality from the first moment onward. Their cooking is remarkably good!
Best place in nyc to get a selection of trappist and abbey ales as well as lambing on draft. Dimly lit at night quite atmospheric. Belgian inspired.
This restaurant creates experiences, not just meals. The service was great too. The food was superb and the price right for the amount served. They source good meats and vegetables with satisfying portions. You won't be unsatisfied!
I've grown attached to both this restaurant and the area it's in. The place is clean and the owners are very sweet, attentive and honest. All workers approached with genuine friendliness. Their dishes showcase excellent flavor! I'm already anticipating returning to try other items.
Nice hidden bar with a surprising amount of seating. It even has its own courtyard! There’s a select food menu that I have yet to try, but I’m sure it would pair nicely with any of the Belgian beers they have on tap. Just make sure to read the contents or it’ll come back to bite you! Great ambience —> perfect place to bring a group or reconnect with close friends! Prices were fair for the pours, nothing unreasonable.
A very nice Belgian bar that has been around for over ten years. You can get your Delirium Tremens and Frites fix here. They have really nice outdoor seating and two levels indoor. They have an excellent selection of beers from Belgium. I often bring folks visiting me, here, as part of their tourist experience. It's in the West Village, so one can easily hop over to another one of the many bars in the neighborhood for continuing revelry.
Very good place for Belgian beers. Smaller selection of draft Belgian beers but its a very chill place and still has good prices and good beers and it’s close to one of my favorite restaurants on the city. They only serve fries though so if you’re cool with that, go for it (small update: you can bring your own food if you want)
This bar was not too busy when I arrived. I ordered a few of their Belgium-style beers and had a seat without much to do. It's a fairly minimalist place, as there really isn't anything to do and its seating doesn't really encourage social interactions. Still, its sparseness gave me something to do when everything else was booked on a busy Friday night.
Strange but interesting little bar. Easy to miss it because it's entrance is tucked into a small alley type of situation. Beer selection is good if you're specifically looking for Belgian style; otherwise, you only have a few options. We went on a Saturday night and only a few tables were filled, which made the vibe feel a bit off, made worse by the fact that the bartenders acted like we were making their lives miserable by asking for two pilsners. But hey, the red lighting was cool.
Came here for drinks on a Friday night with a large group of friends in January. We were able to grab a bunch of seats by the door, which was great but it was a bit cold. We had several orders of fries, which were delicious. They were served with both ketchup and mayo. The white wine selection was a bit limited, but I guess that’s expected at a beer garden.
